We stopped here for Sunday lunch on the walk from Sheringham back to Cromer after Sunday morning church at Life Church in Sheringham. Conveniently situated just a few minutes from the coast path. Although we had not booked they were able to accommodate us in the garden. Food was excellent and seemed good value.

We were staying locally and ate here a couple of times, each visit was excellent. Staff are lovely and the food is delicious. Each visit my husband had the pie of the day (once S&K and then Beef Bourguignon) both exceptional. I had lemon chicken skewer and them ham, egg and chips. The portions are generous. Well kept beer as well.

My wife and I were staying at Incleboro Fields Caravan Club Site in West Runcton and were looking for somewhere local to eat without taking our car. This has turned out to be very nice, and have attended the Inn five times. This tells you we were very happy with what we had. The food is good as is the service so nice and close , good food good beer and attentive staff, what more could you want. So if your staying at this site give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

We visited a couple of times this week. The staff are all super helpful kind and informative. All our meals were excellent in both taste and presentation. The most outstanding was the fish pie - served in a deconstructed style which meant a delicious bowl of fresh fish and seafood in a sublime wine and cream sauce topped with a large quenelle of gratin potatoes. I wondered why I had been given a spoon, but soon found out as the sauce was too good to leave We were interested in the history of the pub and were lent a book with fantastic potter history In conclusion I would definitely return and recommend all holiday makers give them a try as only short walk from all campsites. Well done hard working owners and team you deserve your five stars.

We walked along the coast (unplanned) and then when we arrived in west Runton were desperate for a re charge and couldn’t believe we had found the place ! Great pub - great stock of local beer. Really good pub food, reasonably priced and great service. The steak and ale pie was delicious and both my husband and son enjoyed their burgers. The food was piping hot, decent portions and the wait time was just about right. We decided to stop and eat here after reading the Trip Advisor reviews. We were all incredibly pleased we did especially since we’d spent a long day walking along the Broads and all of us were starving!! Would definitely recommend!

We came here for Sunday Lunch on Mother's Day. I am often disappointed when I eat roasts out, I often come away thinking "I could have cooked better and saved the money"......WELL NOT THIS TIME!!!!!! :) Everything about this dining experience was spot on. Friendly, polite and observant staff. Nice relaxed and warm atmosphere. Food was cooked to perfection. Roasty pots were spot on (they are often a massive let down when eating out), beef was deliciously pink and the cauliflower/broccoli cheese....LUSH! Oh, I forgot the yorkie puds that were the actual size of my head! We didn't take our pooch this time, but there were plenty of well behaved doggies in there, lovely to have that flexibility if you've been on a coastal walk and you fancy a hearty meal to get warm. Looking forward to returning, deffo found our new standard restaurant for Sunday lunches. Thank you and a massive well done to all at the VI. The new management really have excelled themselves.

Another great lunch at the Village Inn. Not an extensive menu but everything I have ever had here has been great. We had pie of the day, which was chicken, mushroom and stuffing in a suet pie shell. Staff are also very friendly. Would highly recommend.

We had our 87 year old father’s annual birthday family get together here last night and it was abysmal. We booked a table for 12 over a month ago and were firstly disappointed that our party was split over 2 tables. When asked if we could move the two tables together we were told it wasn’t allowed! Then the ordering which was at the bar! I had to write all our orders and take them up, upon entering these into the till I was told there was only 1 steak left. I returned to our table to ask 2 of our party to re-order. Returned to till only to be told there was now no steaks left. (Barmaid had not waited for me and had started to serve/input food to till for another customer so had a second wait) Sat down and a minute later barmaid saunters over to inform is that our 4 Mariners Pies were no longer available and could we re-order. It was still on the specials board!!!!! Then the food came.... it was sub-standard to say the least! Raw vegetables, inedible cottage pie, hard peas and that horrible cheap scamp that has mushed fish inside. When I complained we were told we had to pay the full bill and take it up with boss following day. They said they don’t ‘do’ parties of more than 6! WHY ACCEPT THE BOOKING THEN! They said they had changed menu from summer to winter and didn’t have all the food on the menu! DONT PUT IT ON THE MENU THEN! It was total rubbish and ruined our much cherished time with our father! DO NOT VISIT THIS ESTABLISHMENT!

Visited with grand children for evening meal . Their food and hubbys ok as far as pub food goes. My meal however beggars belief ! Bean chilli with nachos. Should be re-named nachos with desert spoon of chilli. Thought my chilli might be hidden under nachos. No.... just a plate of nachos with a spoonful of chilli . I asked waiter if this was normal portion. He shrugged his shoulders and said ‘I don’t know ‘ . Well I asked him to return it to the chef. I said if I wanted a plate of nachos I could have gone to the local shop and brought a bag for perhaps £1.00. He returned and said the chef and waitress were having an argument over my meal and I would get a refund. The waitress gave me £12.00 and said she was sorry but the chef said he sent the correct-portion out. I explained I had not touched it . She said what can I do! This is what we have to put up with. Went here a few weeks back and had fish and chips, I think it was haddock at £14 per person you would expect much better quality. The fish was obviously frozen, dry on edges and soggy in middle, just not enjoyable to eat. The chips were frozen too and completely tasteless as well. I know a lot of pubs will use frozen chips and freeze certain products to help with over heads etc instead of all from fresh, but at least start off with a quality product which has a taste, especially if you are prepared to charge full whack like this. Some places know how to do it like that, but do it well..

No mint, no cucumber, no fruit, just some lemon and ice. And before you think well it s just a pub............no..........they also serve a full menu, but could not find any of the usual ingredients for a Pimms. Why do people say they can make something that in no way resembles the real thing? and for this pleasure???? I paid £7.20. What a rip off.

This pub has a nice room for diners as well as many outdoor tables.

Extortionate prices for drinks. £35 for a bottle of wine that costs £9 in the supermarket. I appreciate there's always a big mark up at pubs but that is ridiculous.

Dogs allowed indoors and the garden area. Establishment lacks any character from the staff and sadly lacking in making the customer welcome. The food is average and over_priced. Good parking .

My friend had previously called at the pub, he wanted to book for 7:30, but was asked to delay it until 7:45 as they had a party of three at 7:30. No mention of the kitchen closing at 8:00pm was made.

We both had Cromer crab and parsley risotto. A bit steep at £14 each, but there was loads of crab in it and it tasted great. It was local and seasonal. There was some side salad with the risotto, and the vinaigrette dressing on the salad did not compliment the risotto one bit. The salad should have either been undressed, or served separately with optional dressing. We both pushed the salad to one side. Risotto itself though, delicious and well conceived.

The plus - tables in large garden in sun( when out). Also excellent selection of quality real ale. Enjoyable quiz on the Sunday night. Food wise really depends on what you have. Fish pie good, pie good but not large, scampi and chips awful. Dreadful chips and peas. On return on a quiet Monday lunchtime waited for person in front to order food and then watched a regular drink up and get then get served before me. Went elsewhere for rest of week

A couple of our friends went with us to The Village Inn to have an evening meal this week. I didn't feel there was any sort of atmosphere whatsoever in this Pub, although the staff were I have to say, very efficient. The meal itself was fine both in terms of quality and quantity but we all felt that what is no more than a village pub without any of the trimmings was rather on the expensive side. It's just a pity that all who work there cannot have a bit of a smile on their face and make the guests feel welcome.

Touring in North Norfolk and came across this pub almost by accident. What a lucky find. The ambience and decor was plain but the food was delicious. We were a party of four and all opted for the baked crab which was as good as it gets! Bravo to the chef. The Adnams beer was also worth at least another pint.,

The breakfast was delicious! We had the mushroom medley and the full English, both were great and I’m sure we will be back again to enjoy them again! The staff were lovey and friendly and very attentive. The perfect birthday breakfast treat

The food was very good well cooked and presented, we had to wait for a while before our order was placed, however it's a busy local pub which caters for holiday makers also so this could have been the reason for the wait. Cheerful and pleasant staff, I would certainly eat there again.

A massive Thank you for our Takeaway delivery! We were staying in a holiday lodge and so didn’t know the area at all but were hopeful that you could deliver to us! We felt that you went above and beyond to make sure that we got the delivery and the food was very tasty with HUGE portion sizes! It arrived piping hot (even though was delivered!) and it was a very speedy process from ordering to arriving. The delivery person was very friendly too and very impressive that they found the lodge in the darkness!!!! Thanks for being so accommodating and for such delicious food. Very grateful.

Been here before as we are fairly local and it was good. But this time terrible and very expensive we had roast pork with apple sauce, stuffing and crackling. Meat was mostly really Fatty and baguette was filled mostly with stuffing best bit was the crackling. At £8 each I expect far better just ripping off the holiday makers. Don’t think we will be going again. It was barely warm so back to the pie man at sheringham for us.
