The Village Grill in Derby

I’ve been buying from these guys for 15 years. Never been dissatisfied. Their Bobby’s special kebab is outstanding.

Ordered a delivery on a Monday evening. Village Grill hopless at delivering this basic order, well over 1.5 hours later. Absolutely useless. Will not be ordering from this takeaway again.

Took Large Chicken Tikka Donner Mixed Kebab with separate everything as mentioned in online with salad. what i got is 1 cup of source that unknown (may be mint) and small bag of salad (2 -3 variants ) when i start, all the salad, source was enough for half of kebab. in there online ordering, its not clear what we getting, what mean of everything. I feel nothing got.

Their steak kebab with extra salad, garlic mayo and chilli sauce, is to die for 😄

Ordered 5 burgers at Iftar time, came quickly however buns were burnt to the point of being rock solid and burgers were also burnt but undercooked. Seems like they were cooked in a hurry to get order out before fast opened. Also ordered a cheese and mushroom burger which had no mushrooms on it. Never ordering from this place again.

Bad food very dry felt like it was headed by microwave I will never look at the shop again

I was working in Derby, was so hungry, ordered food from village grill. Horrible service, no hygiene at all, the chicken was burnt and old and smelt off. I believe was already cooked chicken he fried again. Did the same with chips. Long skin hairs on the chicken piece. If you can't be bothered to cook, close your shop!!! Please avoid them!! I've also ordered a burger, burger was ok!

Been a customer here since 2010 never actually thought about giving a review on here I got to say uncle Bobby is a legend and I've never had a bad thing to say about this place collection or delivery always top notch Kebabs! Probably the last authentic kebab shop in Derby everyone else is using the same mass produced products and just throwing tandoori masala and food colouring on the kebabs. This is a place why Derby is known for its kebabs!

The worst fried chicken ever and also very cold inside looks like it was frozen. We couldnt able to eat it just throw all the 10 pic meal.😑😑😑😑

The person on the phone clearly did not listen to the takeaway what I ordered over the phone, I Ordered a doner kebab with a little bit of chilli sauce and lots of mint sauce. It arrived and was absolutely smothered in chilli sauce, yet absolutely no sign of any Mint sauce. It was inedible and duly went in the bin after a few nibbles. Totally disappointing what I actually got. Delivery was very good as usual, I use this place often but was totally let down tonight. Sort it out.

Best kebab in town! It says 'Kebab Masters' on the back of their shirts. They live up to the name for real

Tasty kebabs and quick delivery. There is a minimum spend on delivery which is a quite high price. Would be nice to see minimum spend basket reduced for local residents say within 3 mile radius of the shop.

My favourite spot tried the rest kebab houses in derby..the best is village grill by a country mile

Barely edible. I tried this place because Steve’s in mickleover is so poor these days. Oh boy this is worse. The fish is dreadful, tough and tasteless, batter is rubbery. Chips don’t taste of anything at all. Over eight quid for this delight too, eurgh.

Will not be ordering from here again my partner had a donner kebab and now is really ill with bad stomach pains and vomiting

Not good at all went here today I ordered chips and chicken chips made my stomach Hurt and chicken had bones in them luckily I saw them because I was so close to eating them never going here again.

Went in to early one day as they open early , was giving the night before dried up donner meat , will not be using again.

Ordered a kebab as well as another 2 for 2 other people all the same size, when I opened mine it was tiny so I rang to ask and all I got was dreadful customer service, didn’t even listen just told me how long he has been working for, I ended up binning it as I asked for them to come back and get it and give me my money back and they never did, won’t be ordering from here again

Try some where else. Not good. Been here 3 times, first was decent. Just ordered Donna kebab and chips and was nice enough, nothing special. Ordered again with cheesy chips and mayo, got chips, no cheese and a pathetic squirt of mayo (to the point I think they were taking the p**s). The third time we ordered tonight and no mayo on the chips as requested , the cheese pizza looked like something you'd get for £1 from aldi. Kebab was decent again, but nothing special. Oh and the staff aren't very polite on the phone. Won't order from here again.

Thoroughly disappointed yet again!! Ordered a kebab with mint sauce and an extra pot of hot chilli, no sauce on the kebab no sauce in pots, ordered cheesy chips, chips were freezing so cold the cheese didn't even melt! The kebab was freezing, meat was so tough I couldn't chew it. The burger was rock hard and bun was stale!! All inedible. went in the bin might as well have set fire to £20 a total waste of a treat night for my son's birthday!! I will NEVER use them again and if you don't want to waste your money you shouldn't either

Staff are great and the Chicken Tikka Kebab is literally the best I've EVER HAD!! All the Meat and the Pizza is very good but the Chicken Tikka Kebab is Grilled and nothing but Breast Meat 👍🏻👌🏻

Very poor service. Always late and food is cold. Will not be using again. Have to pay in advance so can't even get refund. Used to be brilliant. Absolutely terrible now

Littleover Village Grill Uttoxeter Rd Derby - Hot, tasty food yet again. Staff always nice and helpful. Delivered on time, no complaints there. Only problem I had was leaving a comment, as the Web pages for the Littleover and the Burton shops seemed mixed up. Apparently the Burton shop is either out of business now or has changed hands.

As each order is individually prepared, be prepared to wait a while if ordering food over the counter. Kebabs are always excellent and the chilli sauce is pretty hot.

The food is great, and the portions are good, but the staff are the rudest most miserable bunch on the face of the planet.

The phone staff was very rude and disrespectful also tried to force me to collect the food, this man put the phone down on me without saying THANK YOU and GOODBYE, his English was very poor and is giving a very bad name to this takeaway VILLAGE GRILL. MY advice sack this person to teach him a lesson. I placed an order on the 27/07/2020 the day was Monday night at 10:59 p.m.

Wow what a pleasant suprise! After reading some positives reviews online i thought id give it a whirl. Bobbys Grill Special Kebab Steak, shish, chicken tikka, kofta and garlic chicken Every peice of meat had clearly been marinated in their own spices, succulent melt in your mouth food! The naan was positively fresh too! Goodbye Derby Grill, Hello Village Grill!

Decent food for the most part, although at times lacks consistency . Have been a regular here for the last 10 years. Always order the cheese burger meal which is my favourite item on the menu

Good customer service food on time nice delivery driver and very friendly. Always love the burgers there. Only thing is chicken looked tasted and smelt quiet off. Maybe it was just an off day but hope I don't get ill Other than that everything fine

Absolutely best kebabs in the history of food. I’m so tired of going to takeaways and they serve you a kebab in pitta, I mean the bread to meat ratio is so far off it gives me anxiety. But village grill however, wow this gets me excited. Served in a fresh, thick and aromatic naan; piles of Doner meat always cooked to perfection, this really is the REAL DEAL. Been coming here for around 7 months now and never had a bad kebab. The large portion is generous beyond belief and puts a twinkle on my Saturday nights. It really is THAT good. Thank you for existing. Custom service? Great. Food? Perfect. Hotel? Trivago.

Horrible people and horrible food. My first and last time in this place. They don’t even know that should say „Hi”, „thank you” „bye”. I regret that i paid for this... looked like the service man was offended at me because i order something!! The worse place i have ever been. Not recommend!!!!!

Order the steak kebab and you can't go wrong. Same owner for years who knows a thing or two about great customer service and great fast food.

The only place in Derby that my veggie daughter will have a veggie kebab from! Good value for money and very filling.

rung up at the weekend - bloke answered said wait a minute put the phone on the counter - i could still everything - was like this for about 2 - 3 minutes then they just put the phone down on me.... tried to call back and all i got was busy tone. if your'e to busy in the first place dont answer the phone !

Only place I know of that does steak kebabs... Anyone know any others, please let me know, but until then these guys definitely have the advantage...

Expensive for the quality served

The pizza tasted great, though I think their pizza size is smaller than some other places for the same price range.

Very dirty place, food was bland

so Many issues used to be the number one place to go back in the day now genuinely food turns up late,cold,wrong and missing items that I’ve payed for nearly every time there’s an issue it’s like they have no pride in the business anymore it’s a shame but enoughs enough you’ve lost a customer who’s been there from the start

Where to start. The steak kebabs are great. However, the fella answering the phone comes across as real stroppy and is rubbish at understanding English. Got orders wrong on the last 2 times of calling and ordering. Delivery guy is great. It's sad because due to it being wrong, twice now they wont receive my custom anymore and I've been a regular for a few years now. So I dont want peppers and mushroom, no need for attitude and certainly no need to ignore. Good luck in the future to the good staff there, it's been a pleasure.

Shop in good area,car park across the road,Had a kebab a few times,can be good if you dont go too late!!! Had a few shockers aswell,can depend on the staff and food cooked well tbf

Used these guys a few times. Pizza was OK but the staff inside seem generally uninterested and miserable. Having ordered over the phone once I am now regularly spammed with advertising from them even after calling back twice asking for number to be removed and the messages still keep coming. The other takeaways are much friendlier.

Waiting time is about 20 minutes and the kebabs was greasy after i ask them to make sure are not greasy

Food arrived after over an hour adn was cold and needed to be reheated. the donner was so chewy i coulda blown bubbles and the pizza was so so. better to order from saddlers or cavendish kebabs

Stale! We ordered from Village grill after a long while as we couldn't be bothered to pick up from Saddlers. I asked for the food to be hot as the last time it was cold. They promised it would be. It arrived and it was cold. The pizza was burnt and like card board and the chicken tikka tasted stale. This is the third time over 18 months that we have had terrible food from Village Grill and we give them another chance thinking that this time it maybe better but this is the last time we are ordering from them! It's shocking!
