We visited The Apple Tree Bar & Grill last week and we were really impressed. The food is DELICIOUS and flavourful, the spices and the kitchen team area so accommodating and friendly. We had a mixture of meat and vegan dishes and we all REALLY enjoyed it. The environment in the pub is calm and relaxed and the staff are friendly. I would STRONGLY recommend this place if you want traditional Indian food. 10/10.

Is it a pub or is it a restaurant,? , the menu is relating to the Navigation Inn ? We walked in went to the bar, told them we'd booked a table, told to sit wherever, we sat at a table. No idea where to order food, no one told us what we are supposed to do. It was just like sitting in a Friday night boozer, if u want food the menu looked like pub grub.

If you are looking for a pub selling draught beer then this is not the pub for you, they don't sell draught beer. The service was not good with one person left clean tables, pick up dirty glasses and serve food and drink. I noticed that the bar person did not wash their hands after collecting dirty/used glasses (not good in these times of spreading disease) all in all definitely a pub to miss.

I live around the corner and have seen this place go through many transitions, many of which have not been for the better. Have often felt sad that it has so much unmet potential. Was not convinced by yet another new owner and another new sign. Last night me and my partner went in search of food and a few drinks and were told by a neighbour that we didn't need to head into town but to try here again. I was dubious but we decided to give it a try. Wow! What a transformation! The food was amazing, we both said it was the best curry we had had in a long time. The staff were all great, the place looks clean and welcoming and everything was reasonably priced. We ventured into the function room and that has been done nicely too. There was music on in there and a great atmosphere. I will be spreading the word and will definitely go again. I suggest that they advertise their events and food locally to make everyone aware of the changes. Maybe put some vouchers through local residents doors to get them try it for the first time? I really hope that they do well!

Amazing place amazing food good atmosphere

Loved it.went in for a pint the food smelt delicious so we thought why not,everything was lovely 2 pickle trays (only needed one) 4 poppadoms, two mains, 2 rice, 2 nans. £45 a pint of Guinness & a pint of cruzcampo under £9 can't wait to try it again,(bewarned it does have huge tvs showing sky sports ).

We have just visited for the third time since The Apple Tree has been up and running. We would highly recommend, the food is amazing. There is a great choice of curry’s but we opted for the mixed grill which we shared between two with a cheese and garlic nan, a hot jalfrazi curry sauce and the amazing Tarka chips. You can choose any of the curry sauces to have mild, medium or hot. We’ve tried the Madras as well as the Jalfrazi and can honestly say they are the best we’ve tasted, the chef’s incredible. The decor is lovely, it’s a really nice place but I would say I’d prefer not to have TV’s there but that’s just my preference. Having said that, it doesn’t put me off as the food’s incredible.

First venture here, food is lovely. Each dish unique in taste. Service is decent and the staff friendly. Place looks newly done up, much better to take the family than their sister pub the Peartree. Big screens splashed everywhere, so if you like your sport this is a great venue. Would definitely go again.

I recently visited this pub that was recently taken over and I have to say, the changes that have been made are nothing short of drastic. From the moment I walked in, I could tell that this was no longer the same old pub I used to visit. First and foremost, the food has gone from mediocre to absolutely amazing. The new menu offers a wide variety of dishes, from curry to amazing mix grills. Everything I tried was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. It's clear that the new owners have put a lot of thought and effort into the menu, and it definitely shows. But it's not just the food that has improved, the entire atmosphere of the pub has changed for the better. The decor is stylish and modern, creating a welcoming and comfortable ambiance. The bar staff are also a huge part of the positive experience. They are always friendly and welcoming, making sure that every customer feels right at home. I have to give a special shout out to the bar staff who always go above and beyond to make sure that my experience at the pub is top-notch. They are great at recommending drinks and are always willing to have a chat and make you feel like a regular, even if it's your first time there. It's clear that the new owners have put a lot of time and effort into revamping this pub, and it has definitely paid off. The changes they have made have elevated this pub to a whole new level. It's now a place where you can come for a casual drink with friends, a delicious meal with your family, or even a special occasion. I have no doubt that this pub will become a go-to spot for many.

Made the journey, wasn't open when it was supposed to be.

We had booked the function room for a party on Friday 4th January 2019, having paid a deposit for the room hire in June 2018. We visited again on Friday 28th December to confirm the booking and measure the tables having already paid in full.We then learned via a friend on Facebook that the premises had closed without warning.They have not been serving food for some meals months now and the place has obviously been going downhill since the previous manager left!

Visited for a party. Heating on full blast and told this could not be turned down or off so with a room full of 100 people it was baking. Buffet spoiled due to heat!Chairs ripped to shreds. No wonder they want to charge £2 each for chair covers. Was promised room would be set up, but had to get tables and chairs out of storage ourselves.Asked for pint of bitter, then watched as they tried to pull it through. Ended up with glass of half bitter, half water! 3 lagers on tap and only 1 working! No toilet paper in ladies at 8pm on a Friday night! Drug filled gents toilets! Large groups of intimidating drunk teenagers outside the front!Avoid at all costs! The place wants pulling down!

Called in looking for pub on cycle pathway, big pub but in need of work, I sat in the garden among the litter and broken benches and a group of lads discussing what drug's they had taken and who they had fxxked lately. When one lad wanted to relieve himself instead of using the toilet he just pissed up the wall. Suffice to say that I will not be returning to this pub.

Booked a table a couple of weeks back for that evening for food, they forgot to say over the phone and while we were drinking there that the oven was broke. So no surprise we won't be going back.

Nice big old place. Has a function room that seems to be booked most weekends. Big parking area as well as outside seating. Nice kids play area in a secure garden. This pub is a bit of track but don't let that put you off. Also serves food.

Sorry but this massive pub is potentially at the end of its life. Really tired and scruffy. Food was expensive and terrible. However staff were brilliant.

We were here for lunch. On arrival were told that there was a limited menu due to problems with some kitchen equipment. The starter was acceptable. My main course - lasagna was very hot, a pity the accompanying chips weren't. Staff we met were friendly.Would never recommend.

Extremely rude bar staff! We had purchased a burger and drink groupon voucher and when ordering our drinks we asked for a tea and a lemonade. She gave us a half pint lemonade and a tea that tasted like drain water! We requested a pint of lemonade as the groupon voucher states drinks up to £4 and she replied with ‘you should have asked for a pint in the first place’. That was the first to her rude and stupid responses. They then forgot to come take our order...even though we were the only ones in the dining area, when taking our order she couldn’t understand our order...it doesn’t take a genius to work out ‘fried chicken instead of a beef’, there was no salt or vinegar on the table, we were not given our replacement drink until 30 mins after our request and still we had to remind them, we had no sauces. It is a shame as the food was amazing but the bar staff are just rude and stupid!

Went to the Canal Turn today for lunch, food very good,one of us ordered the pasta for main meal and the sauce tasted home made. Burgers were well presented and very tasty. Mushroom and Toast (Starter) very well presented and tasted lovely. All meals served on Slate which gave that extra special touch. Canal Turn was very quiet when we arrived but more people stated to arrive later. Pleasant surroundings and waitress lovely and friendly. Thanks to the Chef and Waitress keep up the good work.

We had a Groupon voucher for two course meal, very cold night but even so the place was very cold, all kept our coats on to eat. Decor very out dated and tired but food first class. Only us in lounge bar side and a couple in the bar. All said the same chef better than the place pity because could be fantastic with some TLC

Rude lazy staff. Beers is ok but front bar needs a total makeover. Would not recommend. Shame as could be good
