Costa Coffee, Wyvern Retail Park in Derby

The coffee was beautiful and the staff were really helpful when it came to gluten free options

Worst costa I've ever had , barrista was more interested on talking to other staff on his little headset than actually paying attention to my cappucino, even to the point that he didn't even put the chocolate dust on properly, half down the cup and what I can only describe as a skid mark down the middle of the froth rather than the bean shape it should have been , cappucino was vile ,

Expensive... shockingly expensive. £4.40 for a small hot chocolate. It was lovely but the price was disproportionate. I could have had a medium for 40p more but I could have done it for free at home. Pricey..

I had the chilli beef toasties today although it was tasty it was very sweet which I wasn't keen on

The staff were very fun and upbeat. Definitely a great way to spend a few hours and have such great service. Not every Costa has staff like this, who cater, care and go above and beyond. An example of what a Coffee Shop should be!

I was there last week (I go here quite regularly as it's near to one of my places of work) and the lady taking my order was beaming, with her customers, clearly taking great delight in looking after people. I commented that it was so refreshing to see someone so happy at work and she said she loves her job there - which was clearly evident. Thank you, she really lifted me up too with her engaging, friendly and polite manner which was a nice bonus to the start of the day!

Nice and abit to quick service on the drive thru, but could of put chocolate in the jot chocolate and mocha

Typical Costa . Unfortunately they have a problem in this particular outlet with flies (that are continually flying around you) so will probably not call for a while .

The coffee is excellent, and they have a wide variety of cakes and cakes or any other accompaniment that you decide to choose, the options to choose from are also very varied and the quality-price ratio is well compensated. The service usually varies, on occasions they have treated me great and on other occasions they have left a lot to be desired, but that does not detract from the place, it is worth visiting them.

I've been several times for breakfast, staff seem friendly enough, nice and clean... however, I don't know if the barista lady is doing it on purpose, or abit dim, but I always ask for a Decaf coffee, because I have awful caffine withdrawals, and despite me stating several times each time I go, I always get given flipping caffine! And it is always the same lady! I can't have caffine, and this is the third time now i have left costa feeling very unwell, so will be using different costa from now on.

Was a little disappointed when I ordered a decaf ice caramel latte and didn't get it what I ordered they missed out the caramel even though I asked twice to make sure they put it in.

Food does depend on the time of day, but normally good. Always had a smiling staff member server us. And good coffee. Reasonable price. We keep going back🤣

Very full and no seats, could help with managers on laptops not using the tables during busy periods. The actual coffee was really bitter and unpleasant to drink.

It's Costa, which is likely to tell you everything you need to know about this one. Coffee was good, but not great and the cake I had was fine too. I've not seen a Costa with atmosphere and this one was average. When you need a coffee on the go it does the job

Overall a quiet place to chat but the service is drive thru focused. We were asked to leave the seated area/cafe at 5pm(timetable on door says open till 19:00) as the opening hours displayed on the door actually only apply to the drive thru.

Good produce as per usual, service not great but they were busy, price still quite high.

This branch of Costa is warm and welcoming and with friendly staff; it is always a pleasure to visit.

The servers were very friendly and helpful. It was a special occasion as it was my birthday so I had my birthday present from Costa.

Sunday open until 6pm on the door. Tried to open the door at 5:45pm. Door was locked and I knocked. Got no answer and was ignored.

Good selection of foods, good customer service, however place was very packed and busy, no where to sit unfortunately and some tables not cleaned

Staff are usually friendly and polite, can feel a bit rushed at times but overall a good experience and convenient

Friendly staff, always appreciated, and they dealt well with another customer who was looking for somewhere to sit and was complaining that one table was taken up by someone who was just using their laptop. I shouldn't visit this Costa as they are one of the few that have the Vegan Biscoff Cheesecake that I cannot resist 😋.

Noisy place. Wasn't acknowledged when serving. The girls that were doing drive through loud and talking a lot to each other and rude to people. Had a birthday day so wanted to get a drink and free bday cake. Got charged for both and seemed a hassle to take cake off. Place was full of dirty cups and saucers and table and floor disgusting. Dissapointed. Left coffee which wasn't done with oat milk as asked and cake was very dry. Dissapointing...

Have been coming here since it opened- it can have it ups and downs but then there are them days. The food and service is always done to the best they can. The re design was probably not the best idea but other than that it’s perfect.

The staff were excellent on a very busy Saturday afternoon. As well as great service to us, the main person on duty was very kind and helpful to another customer when their toddler dropped a drink, clearing it up quickly and calmly to keep the place running efficiently. A credit to Costa.

Went for a coffee ☕ with an old friend. Food was lovely and the atmosphere was vibrant and alive. The coffee was perfect and the food was delicious 😋. I would recommend this place. Love Costa ❤️🙏

Git takeaway cups after 5pm soothe lazy staff have nothing to wash up, great for the environment, NOT!!! The bins were aver flowing tables not cleared or wiped, paper roll on the floor and no order to anything behind the counter, just a mess

It’s a costa shop, can’t say much more really. Staff are friendly and service is good. Drive through can be a bit busy, but only because of it’s location on the retail park. Plenty of parking outside, few seats outside. Sells coffee, cakes and sandwiches.

The restaurant seems to be taking a back seat over the drive through! tables not being cleared away, first visited at 8am this morning where there were already dishes left on tables! Returned at 10am (awaiting car service completion) more tables not cleared away, floor extremely sticky but not wet! toilets especially "disabled" were filthy! Asked for a standard capucino, was sold a medium! wanted a "s" for what i thought stood for standard, my mistake , but as standard is not a unit of measure maybe they should have got clarification before serving me a medium, it's not about the 20p difference , more because i can't drink the amount in a medium =wastage. One the staff as literally just passed and left all dirties while returning from a table empty handed!! People now struggling to find a clean table!

Lovely coffee and staff pleasant too 😊 Sat outside in the sunshine to enjoy a late lunch. The only down side was being surrounded by smokers nearby. I left early as I was covered in unhealthy tobacco aroma. Yuk!

Some staff are very rude. There is a young guy with a beard who is always lovely and smiles all the time.

Just like most other Costas really. A good place to take a grandchild to keep him happy for a while with a bakewell tart!

We had 1 latte and 1 hot chocolate Neither were hot, plus very little care or attention was taken in "making" the drinks. Tables weren't cleaned fast enough and the floor around the table we sat at was littered with crumbs and serviette

Lovely, helpful staff. Always professional. Love the coffee, cakes and pastries, however in line with a healthier lifestyle we really really LOVE the Creamy pre made Compote Oats Porridge. We are unable to get it from our local Costa, so were very happy to find that the Wyvern store stocked it. The Team were fantastic in helping us order the porridge when they had none in store and I was able to collect it when stock arrived.(I should add that they even called two other stores to see if that had any in stock on the day I attended).They went above and beyond and we wanted to say what a great team they are, recognising the great service and help they demonstrated. Although we have a Costa approximately 3 minutes drive away, we have no problem driving a few extra miles across town to get such good service. Sorry I don’t know any specific names however you are all a great team, whether at the drive through or in house… BRAVO To You All.

Good service but without going into detail the toilets cleanliness was not good,hopefully a one off.

Usual Costa fare but come on folks please can a member of staff clear the tables for new customers, is it rocket science?

Absolutely shocking!! Filthy, take away cups everywhere, floors needed sweeping, never saw the staff walk the floor once, or clean a table. If I could give no stars I would.

Served by Leah today, she was super helpful and suggested the Terry's hot chocolate to my husband which he thoroughly enjoyed. She had a smile on her face and couldn't have been happier to help with the costa app. A really great experience 😊

Dire.... Turned up at half 5 for some drinks, to be told we are closing in 20 minutes, on the door and website it says 7pm, the drive through was closed upon arrival at 5:15pm so I assume that closed early too. We were then forced to have drinks in takeaway cups only, not only is that a bit of drop in standards if you want a nice cup at the table, the cup I had smelt musty like it had been left in a cupboard. We were then prompted at 5:50 that it's closing time in three minutes, by the waitress who came by the table, which again put the pressure on, why advertise you're open till 7pm, also it's ten minutes, not three. Also the access button for their heavy front door hasn't worked in months, which again honestly shows the standards of this place, inside there was takeaway mugs and dirty tables everywhere, I can only assume they are understaffed, which if that's the case they need to hire more people, hospitality is in its knees and it shows, Costa pay your staff more and incentivise working there, or give your staff more training/guidance to make it a better experience. Won't be visiting again.

Very friendly staff, I didn't personally try the food so I can't really judge it, good family atmosphere but the only problem, as other coffee shops, not enough staff or a rack for people to leave the dirty cups for new people to sit. Should those be resolved, it would be a 5 star experience

Usually use the branch at Wyvern for a lunch snack if I am doing a big shop at Sainsbury. Its convenient and meets my needs

Service at costa Derby Wyvern is fantastic especially from Siobhan. She so helpful and friendly and nothings is to much trouble.

Awful customer service , talking to each other instead of us. Told they didn’t do the Costa app to redeem points which takes away the whole reward experience . Served by a red head who had so much attitude

Slow service in restaurant not many tables

Much to my surprise, they are open at 6 am. Got a coffee just as the opened, and the barista was very nice and cheerful even at that time in the morning. I shall definitely be visiting here again.

Most of the time when I visit this place before going to work, their Card reader doesn’t work and I don’t usually carry cash with myself! It is a waste of time specially if you have to go to work and you can’t even get a stress-free coffee 😒

Went here Sunday at 3.55pm. allegedly closes @5.30pm. Not so, 4pm told closing @4pm got 5mins.then asked to leave with other customers. Apparently closing time refers to drive through. Won't bother next time!.

The staff are friendly, polite and well organised. Plenty of food and drink to choose from including vegetarian and vegan options. Unfortunately there is not much seating room inside and all the tables & chairs are crammed in. There is the option for drive thru which is handy when you're in a rush.

One of the worst customer service. On their website says that it is open till 7 pm. When arrived I was told that cafe closed at 6 pm and only drive through is open till 7 pm. Your website should be mention it clearly so that my partner and I wouldn’t have wasted our time to come down here. Not coming back in the future.

Visited on an early start in Derby. Had a bacon butty and a cappuccino. Very quiet at 07:30! Great service and great coffee as usual. Sat in, store clean and tidy.

Convenient to spend half an hour there when you've been doing bit of shopping locally. I had breakfast there whilst waiting for Halfords to finish with my car.

We visit several Costa's and have always thought it was fairly ok but on the last 3 trips I have noticed a slip in their usual standards. Tables sticky as not washed down or still has remnants of food on the tables/chairs etc and not very clean cutlery , plates and cups. This is not down to one but the 3 we usually vist and the last one brings me to this Costa and unfortunately it was not pleasant. As you can see by the pictures the tea pot looks like it's never been cleaned and if you enlarge the pictures especially the tea pot and spoon you will see what it looked like as it was delivered to our table. I suggest they send secret shoppers to their establishments and let their staff know the results. I understand it might not be their employees first choice of employment but if they work there and obviously get paid for doing it then it should be better standards than it is

No stools to use the chargers. Most of the cafe doesnt even have charging points. Nearly all of the tables around the edge dont have sockets or charging points. Wifi is VERY SLOW. Only plus is the friendly staff :)

The staff member making the drinks, Rory, was a delight and made my morning. Tons of energy and care went into making our coffees today!

Coffee and sandwich lovely. Good counter service. I had to clear the table, 3 trays with cups, saucers and cutlery etc. Had the only table left and could not get in and had to ask people behind on either side to move so as we could sit down. The table was pushed right up to us. Not comfortable at all. If we were any bigger than our size 12's there was no way we could have sat down. This was at 11.35am and only 2 staff on serving very busy. Not very impressive I must say🙄

My parents visited on Saturday as a birthday treat for my dad. When they were unable to use the app to get his free bird at cake one of the new staff members in training took the time to sit with them and help them through it. She took their order at their table and brought their drinks over for them so they didn’t have to get up and try carrying them. They really enjoyed their treat and were very grateful to the lady that helped them.

My and wife had a toastie and a coffee on Costa for brunch. It was great. The staff were very happy for us.☕🤓
