Great food, great service, music a bit loud but I'm an oldie!

Great food cooked fresh so you have to wait for it to be cooked not a problem worth waiting for

I had the lasagne i struggled not like me at all very well made ate it all, excellent. Carina had the rump steak was spot on will be going again

I stopped going here because i see i get treated differently! I thought it was just me but my partner complained about the same thing and we have vouched never to go where we r not wanted or welcomed! Terrible for the black community!

Been a few times now and the chef can't soft poach an egg. Specifically asked for runny egg with my eggs advocado and they just can't do it. They say that I should have sent it back but I want to eat with my friends and not when they have finished. Felt waitress a little abrupt when I pointed this out.

I'm afraid to say standards have dropped a lot. Food was luke warm. Staff not very helpful. We are regular customers but very disappointed with today's show.

Popped in for lunch. I had the garlic mushrooms and brie panini which was really nice however my partner had a a tuna jacket which had to be sent back once as the potato was hard and very little tuna, when it came back the 2nd potato was even worse it looked like it had been mashed up and was dry so was the side salad. Not sure how You can get a jacket potato wrong!! Customer service was also very poor

Table for 8 birthday bash on Thursday night, the place was busy we all had starters and mains. The experience was excellent, quality of the food and service was superb, credit to the cooking staff and the girls just made it look so easy well done will be back for more. The birthday girl had a great time too. Thank you all.....

Came here for a meal only to be told no eating outside then to see people eating outside. What a joke management need to know about there terrible staff

Came as a big party, on 23 June for afternoon tea. The waitress with blonde hair was extremely rude to us all, rolling her eyes and sighing. She was not accommodating at all and did not feel welcome there as a big group. Feel she needs some customer service training. Food was ok a bit dry, however it was a good price for afternoon tea

We visited for the first time for Father’s Day lunch it will be our last time it was terrible how can you muck up nachos well it is possible here at the village green the salsa and guacamole all dried up you needed more spit to eat it so I left it the katsu chicken felt like the sole of a shoe both dishes I think had been left as one wasn’t ready service very slow food very poor ☹️

Second visit as thoroughly enjoyed the first but sadly disappointed. Main problem was coleslaw which appeared to be like cabbage and water , not tasty and made rest of the meal too wet to finish . Perhaps serve separately if continue with this coleslaw recipe.

Really dissapointing lunch today. First let down, no jacket potatoes (same thing happened last time we were there for lunch ). Wraps came with salad, chips and homemade coleslaw. The watery 'coleslaw' was just sliced cabbage, rest of the meal ending up 'soggy' as a result! Steak in wrap really tough and grissly. Omelette was a sloppy mess. I know there are staffing issues at the moment, I do hope this gets sorted, shame to see this usually great venue going downhill. ☹️

Lovely pleasant staff, did not feel rushed and food was hot and lovely.

Walked in had to wait at the door for ages there was no staff all on there break then we was shown to our seat by a sad young man we ordered our food and drinks which never came so my husband had to go to the bar and ask again and when it eventually came my God I would not give my dog it burnt reheated hard as nails meant pie with 6 chips and a jug of water gravy we complained got our money back and left there was no sorry the staff looked fed up as if they didn't want to be there it was terrible never again

Since moving to Kingswood think we’ve been here at least once a week, great value, good food, friendly staff. Just wish it was a bit bigger for the busier days!

Went for lunch had the steak sandwich with chips, salad and coleslaw. Absolutely lovely sat outside which had a holiday feel about it. Recommend this place.

Full English breakfast, over priced, cheap quality food , no staff smiled or made you feel welcome. Also took an age to arrive for half of it to be cold, would Deffo not be going back.

Its been a great place since it opened, we live 20 minutes away and still head here for good food and drinks. Steak night is a great time to treat yourselves. Great food at good prices.

Food was good, Service was friendly, the tables were clean along with the counters and bathrooms.

Chicken satay is not to be recommended, it had virtually no taste to it whatsoever.

Great little setting, with lovely food and staff

Went for food on the 4th march and got to say it was beautiful. Been quite a few times and it never disappoints. This time I had a burger( can't remember the name) but it was lovely although I did have a bit of food envy when I saw the wife's seabass. It looked amazing and the prawn I nicked was lovely. We would have had the steak night deal with wine but I was driving. Overall a great place that I highly recommend

Went with a friend and would go back for the food. Everything we had was lovely. Only thing I'd change was that staff weren't that friendly or welcoming.

First time having a meal in The Village Green, from ordering to receiving our food, couldn't fault it, you definitely get your monies worth, I ordered steak and Ale pie with mash and peas absolutely tasty, my partner ordered a burger and again value for money, definitely would go back.

Ordered a platter of mixed food, coleslaw was really spicy, which wasn't stated on the menu, also menu stated my order came with chips, salad and other items, when I didn't receive them I was told they arnt included anymore, I ordered my food because they came with it so was not happy,food was bland and meat was tough

Visited a week or so ago and I had a goats cheese wrap with chips . When it got to our table after nearly an hour my wrap and my partners wrap as she got the same was absolutely dripping in water when I picked it up . The wrap was soggy and all together not a good meal .

We went for afternoon tea, a lively selection of finger sandwiches, savoury bits and desserts. The place was lovely and clean with a good atmosphere and friendly staff. It was busy so I'm glad we had booked a table. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is personal preference, the only had the option of whole milk for hot beverages which for me is a no no. The cream for the scones was whipped and not clotted like I had presumed. Not their fault. My own but would have made afternoon tea perfect. The savoury bits amd finger sandwiches where delicious, especially the sausage roll as it was still warm, dessert wise the scone was also still warm which was amazing! Highly recommend for someone who isn't as picky as me but that being said I would still visit again 🤣

Very nice food good choice on the menu. Not long to wait for food to arrive. Staff was pleasant however did feel once we had finished eating wanted us to vacate the table.

Met up with family for a meal and have to say all of our meals was a mixture of dry and bland, we told the staff at the end but she said we should have said at the time of the curtesy call, but the call was only a few minutes after our food arrived so didn't really have chance to taste.very disappointing and a complete waste of money, will not be returning.RC

Unfortunately, the service and food have really gone down hill recently. I ordered a beef stroganoff which was very bland and had to take the plate back to the kitchen due to the lack of taste. The staff are okay when taking your order but you do get the impression once you’re sat at table that they don’t want to be there, they’re not very friendly or personable, we get the feeling that they want to get off home as they are clock watching. I won’t be returning anytime soon which is a shame as it’s local to me but both the food and service haven’t been up to scratch the last couple of times I’ve visited. Improvements need to be made before I next pay a visit. By reading the other reviews it seems I’m not the only one who has these views.

Booked here Saturday for a girlie catch.. was extremely disappointed in the service. Young girl greeted us barked out pay before your served and you come to us we don’t come to your table!! We ordered and 2 of us ordered plain rice when the 3 meals came out 2 had coconut rice snd 1 plain.. when we called the waitress over and explained she took the plate away only to bring it back arguing that it was plain , when asking her to taste it she declined and took it away this carried on 4 times to eventually the rice was removed not replaced with anything so literally 2 kebabs brought out .. it was appalling service and extremely rude.. makes me wonder this is why it was empty on a tea time on a Saturday.. avoid this place

Great place to go for food. Would like it to change the menu every so often.

Horrendous customer service. Recently made a booking for close to 60 people to celebrate the retirement of a family member, deposits had been made as requested and we were told that the remainder could be paid on the evening of the meal. My family member received a call on the week of the meal, the manager demanded that the entirety of the order be paid for in full before the evening or we would not be allowed to attend and the police would be called (though I’m unsure what this would have achieved). The way the manager chose to conduct themselves was disgusting and caused a great deal of distress ahead of what should have been a pleasant occasion. People were travelling from outside of the city and had booked hotels for the evening, only to be let down on the week of the meal due to the manager and their vile attitude. We were only a few people short of filling the entire venue, but were told we couldn’t bring any decorations for the evening due to the fact that there may be a couple of customers attending that were not a part of our party, we accepted this and were happy to proceed with the booking but to turn away this amount of business on a week day is absolute lunacy. The manager seemed to take a great deal of pleasure in causing this distress, making threats down the phone as to what would happen if we did not pay for the booking in full before the evening or if we did not cancel. I can only assume that despite us making the booking well in advance, they were underprepared and in a state of panic, decided that this would be the best course of action to take to prevent us from attending and save themselves the embarrassment of delivering a poor evening. I can only hope that the food and other aspects of this venue is better than their customer service, otherwise I fear that it is equally vile and distasteful.

Been here before and never had any problems. This time we ordered two breakfasts. Both came without any hash browns that were supposed to be with them. One plate had 4 sausages the other had 2 even though they were both supposed to be the same.

4 of us went for tea, the food was superb, nice and hot, the staff and service was very good the staff were very polite. Would recommend this place

We were 5 minutes late for our table booking and got a rude call asking where we were and how long we were going to be. Once there we had a flat Lemonade that tasted awful. They told us the syrup had gone...so they knew there was an issue but still served it. We did get a replacement. I've always had a lovely time in the past but I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome that evening. Food was tasty though.

What a lovely place to order food, coffee or alcohol. With outside seating for us dog walkers fido can be accommodated too (winter heaters). Moderately priced too.

The waitresses need to learn how to smile, be polite and have customer service experience, went with friends wrong sandwich came, the waitress took back as it was a mistake in the kitchen, jacket potato was dry even though I asked for tuna melt, the salad was limp, the service needs to be improved 😀 won't be returning anytime in the future.

Waitress was miserable and made you feel like you was a hindrance. Food was awful. When you send something back because it wasn’t right you expect it to be freshly cooked again not just the bit that wasn’t right to be taken off. In my case cheese. Although the bulk had been removed I could still taste it. Definitely won’t be coming back. It’s a shame really because been a few times with no problems.

Love this place. Great for meeting friends. Just had an amazing meal , not long to wait and they fitted us in even though we didn't book, but I do recommend booking as it is a busy place.

Took my wife & daughter to TVG ON 16/9/2023, not been for a while and OMG as the portions of food changed, they are massive. We all ordered starters which all came piping hot a delicious, the next was the main course, wife & daughter ordered burgers, their plates was crammed with food. I went for the Texan Platter and I say please if your going to order this dish don’t have a starter. It was Massive, I was expecting, a piece of chicken, abit of pulled pork and abit of beef, Jesus did I get a shock. 2 people could of shared this dish, the food was cooked perfect & delicious. Top marks to the chefs. Like we all say you pay for perfection,and trust me it was. I felt guilty about leaving a lot of the food, but I couldn’t eat any more. Top marks to all at the TVG For excellent food & polite service.

Very poor experience. Came with my family to take them out on the night there was a stake deal however before we ordered the stake I asked the lady if there was any way we could cancel a bottle of wine and a stake in order for a pasta dish was was half the price of a stake and cheaper then a bottle of wine. However, the blonde girl was rude and refused to even attempt to accommodate our request. She lied and said the stakes were already been cooked despite me asking as we was deciding on how we wanted it cooked 30 seconds prior. I then asked to speak to a manager and was told “we don’t have one”. If you would like to go to a restaurant with good customer service and that treats their customers well, Piccolos is a 5 mins walk. Absolutely disgusted and will not be returning.

My Grandson spilt his milk accidentally during our family visit. A waitress came over with some blue roll, plonked it on the table and left us to it! I had to pull the chairs and table out to clean it whilst she just walked off. I messaged them on Facebook afterwards saying how embarrassing it was and how rude this girl was, it was read but not one person had the decency to give a reply. Will not be returning anytime soon.

Wonderful experience tonight at the Village Green. The food was exceptional, everyone really enjoyed their meals. I spilled a drink on myself and the service was fantastic, the wait staff came immediately to help clean up. Brilliant place, would really recommend visiting if you get chance.

Put your beans in a dedicated baked bean container and then onto of the plate - why ruin every item of your full English by putting bean juice on every item? I should have the right to choose where I want my bean juice and where i desire a crunchy texture, and where I desire a slippery texture. 1 Star, shame. Everything else was great.

Went for breakfast at 9.30, but the place didn't open until 11am even though they advertise breakfast on their menu. Looked a nice place as we looked through the window, so we will go back to try another time.

A cracking little cafe bar which serves a good choice of food at lunch and in the evening. Current special offer of 4 Baby Guinesses for £10 is a brill deal, sadly it was lunch time when we visited so wasn't appropriate. My only gripe with the lunch (I had the Fish Buttie and my other half had a Beef sandwich) was the chunky chips were a little undercooked. Most were a hard in the middle still. Will certainly be back though and enjoy an evening I'm there and also something from the main course menu.

Lots of tables both indoors and outside. Prices were average and the coffee was decent. Large scones, could have been fresher. Good choice of food. Seems popular. Easy to park the car immediately outside.

I've attended quite a few times. Most recently a few weeks ago with friends and children, we opted for the steak night meal deal, which was very nice although the peppercorn sauce was a bit too much peppercorny.
