Best bread I have ever had. Always buy their Danish large loaf and the taste is outstanding. Frendly staff. Well done.

They refused to serve me because I did not have cash!!!! My wife is a regular customer here but no more! I am amazed that any business can afford to turn away custom these days. Admittedly it was just one bread roll today but we spend about £500/year there. Remarkable lack of business acumen.

this is the best bakery around, everything iv had has been very fresh and very nice. ice buns are to die for, melt in the mouth fresh they are such a treat.

Great little bakery with very good bread, cakes, baked goods etc. Didn't try the cafe yet but looks like a nice place to take a break.

Popped in for a coffee while visiting Chard. Thought we would try the cakes as looked great. Mum has to have gluten free, and although they had only one type left she said it was great. I had a cherry and ginger tart, which was amazing. I’ve eaten all over the world Brisbane, Homg Kong, San Francisco, New York, Paris, and I can honestly say this was me of my top 5 cakes of all time.

Great little place to grab a coffee & cake, plus plenty of bakery products & rolls available to purchase. Staff very polite & attentive, will visit again.

We came as we were looking for a brown bread with seeds and ended up seating in the cafe that was totally unknown for us, we’ve ordered one cappuccino which was lovely and a chicken and bacon baguette that was delicious. The place is quite small but is worth to visit, the bread was delicious too.

Small shop with cafe area, but brilliant range of breads and pastries which are excellent

in spinach and feta pie - most of the filling is potatoes. Disappointed!

Me and my boyfriend come here all the time, by far the best bakery we’ve ever come across. The filled rolls are FILLED, the cakes are fresh and made with love, you really get your moneys worth here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Visited this as the baked goods in the shop window looked nice, and it was next to our hotel as well! Though it houses a little cafe this was closed due to the pandemic but the cheerful Janet supplied us with excellent sausage rolls, but the local tarts including toffee and pecan varieties were excellent; we even bought some more on the long drive back home and they certainly managed to last the trip and a few weeks accompanying our coffees!

Quite possibly the best sandwiches/rolls etc we've ever had. I bought a poppy seed baguette with chicken, bacon, mayo and salad it was £4ish and it was practically a loaf, it easily fed me and my 3 girls (all 11yrs+ with healthy appetites). Good value, Good food, Lovely staff, Our 3yr old recommends the iced buns

Chleb się zsycha a nie pleśnieje więc tu już duży plus. Płatność kartą od 5. W porównaniu do pieczywa z marketu oczywiście 1 klasa pieczywo polecam jako piekarnię. Z kawiarni nie korzystałem więc się nie wypowiem.

Not only is this a first class bakery it also has a cosy cafe,the food is first class and the staff are very friendly and attentive, highly recomended.parking outside.

I visited this bakery when in Chard for a snack lunch. It was excellent. The service was excellent, always a smile on the face. The food was also excellent. I had the quiche and salad and a cup of coffee.It is only a small place but the food was excellent.

This bakery never fails to deliver fresh, tasty and satisfying refreshments. Always seems some new ideas to try.

Waited in a line to get served untill I realised I was waiting ecause two of the staff were having a Gossip. Customer in front of me walked out so I followed.

Had a beef salad & himself a baked potato with ham, for lunch. Lots of locals collecting cakes, having coffee etc. Good sized plateful, salad accompanied by salad cream (& requested horseradish sauce). Potato was quite overdone - skin very hard, but better than underdone.

We stopped in Chard and found this charming bakery, lovely lunch and excellent friendly service.We would definitely return if in the area again.

Lovely ''old world'' bakery.Excellent bread and many buns.No cards under £5,which is annoying.Good quality but expensive loaves.

For the second time I stopped and picked up rolls from here only for them to be stale. I was also horrified to see the young bread delivery driver arrive with waist length dreadlocks and no hat. At one point he lent forward and they were all over the bread. Never again will I use this place, I would rather trott round to Lidls for some rolls and a doughnut

When I get a craving for an iced bun or similar this is where I go. Lovely friendly staff with a great selection of cakes, bread and savouries

Visited today whilst working in Chard and stopped in for a roll and a mug of tea. What a great find! Really good quality unpretentious food (the freshly baked bread rolls were amazing) and the staff were lovely.

Nos compras en Acelgas y llamé aquí para un rápido almuerzo ligero. Teníamos pollo coronación y sándwiches, café de filtro y Turquía un latte. Los bocadillos eran tan sabroso con rellenos muy generosa de ingredientes de calidad. El pan era tan bueno que compramos un pan para llevar con nosotros a nuestro alojamiento de vacaciones. Personal muy amable y servicial.

We were staying in Chard and bought cakes to share with a friend living nearby. Buns and slices - delicious.

Siempre puedes ir a la panadería del pueblo para una baguette. De lejos, la mejor de acelgas y vienen llenos hasta los topes, a diferencia de otros que escatiman en el llenado. Buena relación calidad-precio y el personal muy amable. El único punto negativo es que a menudo circulan de baguettes, así que es mejor llegar temprano, antes de que el punta una hora de almuerzo.

A bakery with a difference, nice sized seating area at rear of shop with staff to serve you. Refreshing to find such a cafe still exists serving homely food at such reasonable prices Recommended.

Mi marido y me encontré con este café durante una visita a Chard. Tuvimos un almuerzo muy sabroso, que tarde estaba recién preparado y muy buena relación calidad-precio. El personal era cortés y muy servicial. Volvimos, de nuevo para el almuerzo. No nos decepcionó! Mi ensalada era enorme, con mucho de Turquía y un montón de ensaladas, vale la pena el dinero.

Metimos en para un sandwich. No podía hacer un sándwich de tocino para mí así que fuimos para un pastel de carne. Pagamos alrededor de £3.50 por él y fue bastante decepcionante comparado con pasteles de otras panaderías. Podía pagar extra 50 p y conseguir una tarta el doble tamaño en cualquier otro sitio. Debe tener cuidado para cazar en otro lugar. Estaba bastante bien.

Cuando estoy en Chard siempre visitar la panadería del pueblo para una Baguette, recién hecho y lleno hasta los topes. También venden pan recién horneado, tartas y tienen un pequeño café en la cafetería. De lejos, el mejor de la ciudad y con una gran relación calidad-precio.

Buen servicio muy buen pan sólo un poco caro pero vale la pena por el sabor. Quisiera tener slicer pan de porción si es posible

La comida es buenísima y útiles señoras. Sé que mi compañero va aquí la mayoría de descansos y almuerzo en ocasiones yo me regalo!!

Lovely little place for bread and cakes at a good value, they also do small snacks and drinks. Situated in Holyrood St. it just right for your daily loaf.

We have used the small restaurant at the back of this bakery for a year when we visit Chard to shop. It has yet to disappoint. Quality hot drinks fresh sandwiches and quality ingredients. In short if you can get out without buying something to take home you made of stringer stuff than us. Fridays and Saturdays the patisserie aspect of this fine bakery comes to life, Buy a custard slice close your eyes and your in France. Small cosy sometimes busy but that is often the way with this little gem.

Popped into the bakery and found a real gem of a coffee shop at the back of the shop. We had a cappuccino and an americano together with a home made toasted tea cake. Prompt and friendly service and very reasonable prices. There's quite an extensive menu - not just cakes. Would thoroughly recommend it.
