Only went for coffee, went to look for a disabled toilet and they have an easy access WC but no raiser board and the hand rail next to loo wouldn’t come down, asked for assistance and they couldn’t get it down, with me being 6 weeks in from hip replacement was very bad service. Young lady told the manager and he shrugged his shoulders. Well will have to keep a wide bearth for a while. Not good enough now a days.

I would not recommend this place to anyone ! Given a family room (small) with FOUR beds in their (stayed for two nights) of hell ! only needed one double Bed (requested prior to visit not to be on main road) quiet area.... given Room facing the road ?? noise all night long... Room not cleaned or replenished with any tea/coffee/milk/ after first night ! no-one even touched the room, whilst we were out all day at a Wedding: Restaurant ?? more like transport cafe attached to this place......food zero..... no cups to have coffee in the morning (as in the Dishwasher) plastic ones only? Breakfast was about 45mins wait..... (wasn't worth the wait) people walking out in disgust !! Breakfast when did arrive... soaked in oil/ ?? not edible ! Coffee in jugs cold/ Milk in Container you purchase milk in ? Worst place ever been, I just hope this review.... may stop at least someone being so utterly disappointed in this place !

I am mainly writing this review as I visited this afternoon (09/02/19) and would like to thank the female member staff serving who was very helpful. Minor mix up with my food which was rectified right away. We stayed for just short of 4 hours and nothing was too much trouble for her. I also cut my finger prior to arriving and she brought me a plaster and antiseptic wipe which I really appreciated. Food was great, place was lovely and clean and I would definatly go again. This place should be ashamed of the way it treats its customers.. I will never go back again.

The staff including bar staff waiter/waitresses were all very polite and provided our group of 25 with very attentive service. However, the majority of our food was shocking most of which, inedible. I had black pudding starter which I enjoyed, followed by what can only be described as ‘greasy slop on a plate’ pizza. It was a sad looking soggy mess on a plate. In all my life I have never been served with such unappetising looking food. Vile, vile , vile. My daughters both ordered Cesar salad (slop in a bowl). Terrible terrible terrible!! This was just too much I had to complain. After careful examination the manager could only agree that the soggy pizza dripping in grease and the wilted Cesar salad was far from edible and quickly took it away promising to speak to the chef. My husbands lasagne was as dry as old sticks. He ate it because he was really hungry. My fathers food was cold, again ate it because he was hungry, the carbonara was dry and again inedible. All in all 90 percent of our party did not enjoy their food which is very disappointing as we had especially chosen this place for our celebration. We certainly did not celebrate our food. We will never visit this establishment again and will certainly not recommend it to any one. Do not go for fear of disappointment.

I came to this restaurant after being stuck on the motorway for over two and a half hours, due to a big traffic incident. As I arrived I had a very active four year old (who was just happy to be out of the car) and a 5 month old baby. The staff were all amazing and lovely. There was one staff member in particular who went above and beyond to help me find alternative routes and provided bottles of water. He made me feel at ease from the minute I walked in and ensured we had everything we needed. The food was amazing and overall I was bowled over by the nice friendly welcome and atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would like to say a HUGE thank you to Jake!!!! What a difference you made to my day. Thank you x

The Villa at Wrea Green is renowned for its fine dining, so this addition to the family has a reputation to uphold...and it does it with style. Don't let the 'Express' part of the name put you off, nor the fact that it's attached to a budget hotel chain and situated in a former 'Harvester style' pub/restaurant, because the food is far from ordinary. I've eaten here several times; the menu always makes it difficult for me to choose what to have, and I've never been disappointed with my selections. It's not cheap, but it's not expensive either.

My friends were staying at the Villa Express hotel for a couple of nights whilst visiting me. The first night we ate in the Italian restaurant. The menu was very good. I don't eat red meat so normally struggle a little, but plenty of choice. Tasty king prawns to start followed by risotto, which even in some expensive Italians you can't get, it was a real treat. All our party had different dishes, and remarked how they had enjoyed it. The service was excellent, especially Russell who was very attentive, even though he thought my tan was fake, cheeky boy, I live in Spain so put him straight!!! The next night, after a full day sightseeing, we could not be bothered going out so had a bar meal, served by the manager Jane, again, all very good, prices all reasonable, and the standard excellent. MORE AT TripAdvisor

Granted, we made an error. As residents at St Georges Park, Kirkham we do lead a hectic and busy lifestyle. Notwithstanding, I decided after another 10 hour day working as a service manager in a busy Garage on the Fylde Coast to treat my wife and youngest daughter to a meal out. We chose the Villa Express, although we do not know a sole who has recommended the restaurant before. Have to say initially, the waiter and waitress were more than amicable, professional and courteous. However, my mistake of being a busy family man soon became apparent. We ordered drinks, starters and main courses. We also asked for garlic bread with tomato. Clearly a simplistic error was made, as the bread arrived incorrect. Notwithstanding, and not to be seen as making a fuss over garlic bread, we carried on with our meal regardless, putting the error down to an easy mistake. Sadly, when my main course arrived (and it was prompt) I quickly realised the chef had added human waste in the form of an unrequired finger nail, embedded between both salami and pasta. After realising I did not want someone else's human waste in my food, I decided to leave the main course. My wife on the other hand, struggled through a desperately dry and unappealing Carbonara. My daughter, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed her child's portion of pasta and butter. After explaining to the waitress and waiter, in an amicable and quiet manner, that the unpleasantness of my main course and the fact the garlic bread ordered was not received, was not a major issue, we proceeded to order a 'sweet' for my daughter. The waiter did state he would speak to his manager, who in turn would deal with the revolting food that had been laid in front of me. Without attempting to labour the point, I was finally given a bill and to my surprise was informed my daughters pasta and butter child's portion was actually the same price as my salami, discarded nails and pasta dish - £9.25! When I questioned the amount with the manager, the conversation changed from blatantly rude to bizarre. The clearly lacking in personality and customer service skills manager suggested, first and foremost, that I had been lucky to have been served the wrong garlic bread as the one I received was more expensive! It was made apparent that the manager was more than aware I had not enjoyed my fingernail surprise and proceeded to inform me that his customers do indeed lie - regularly. He asked for me to understand the restaurants stance, although I did get the impression the sound of his own voice and self styled importance was crucial to his conversational skills- making up I presume for his lack of both stature, personality and customer appreciation. When I refused his request to meet the head chef and after being accused of lying, he did concede the bill was actually incorrect - however, made no mention to the appalling main courses, wrong garlic bread and added extras. To conclude, our initial order was incorrect, one of the meals was revolting, another relatively tasteless. The waiter and waitress we indeed terrific. However, our quiet displeasure was totally ignored by the manager, who decided, despicably to add an erroneous amount to the already incorrect bill. When challenged, the manager chose to insult my wife and I an and all his diners .....by describing those who protest as liars! With all the available Italian restaurants in Lytham St Annes, Blackpool and Preston my advice is clear - unless you enjoy human waste, added costs to your bill being described as liars ( as according to the manager, the majority of customers visiting the establishment are) avoid the Villa Express.

We had the four tapas starter dish including the baked mushrooms which were undercooked and topped with something resembling campells condensed mushroom soup then melted cheese that had solidified. The prawns were cold. Both pasta dishes we had were swamped in cream and lukewarm. The staff were too busy chatting to notice that we had no serving spoons and disappeared at nine on clock so we had to wander into the pub to ask for our bill and pay, which at fifty pounds was very steep as we only had lime juice and soda to drink!!! Unfortunately they had the county wide water problems which made them have no ice, but it would have been good if they could have ordered it in. The first niggle was being seated at the back of the restaurant in a gloomy area on a rickety wooden table, despite there being plenty of unreserved space in the more ambient area of the restaurant. I accept I could have asked to be re-seated at the outset, but could not be bothered. However, I would love to know why we were seated there - I promise we were appropriately dressed and on best behaviour. The starters were poor and overpriced for quality. Pate of a strange grey colour, and sparse strips of rubbery calamari with no flavour. We didn't fancy 90% of the mains which read as Italian with Chinese and Indian fusions. It is branded as an Italian restaurant! So we opted for pizzas. The bases were the consistency and (I suspect) flavour of papier mache. Both pizzas were smothered in a greasy tasteless cheese. The anchovy, olive, and caper topping were from jars and tasted purely of brine. I could not understand how this combination of ingredients could be so flavourless. It is inexcusable to produce this as restaurant standard food. Discounter supermarket pizzas are 100% superior for quality of ingredients and flavour.A chef/kitchen should understand their ingredients and menu. On a positive, staff did acknowledge our disappointment when we paid, encouraged feedback and was receptive....let's hope it is acted upon. We are local, and have no hesitation in sharing our 'experience'!

Wanting to make my own mind up after hearing negative reports from quite a few people we visited last night (Monday) arriving at 6.45pm in time for the advertised 5-7pm early evening menu.It was virtually empty so we asked to be seated but the barmaid said it was her first night and we`d have to wait for "Louis" to seat us.Chose a bottle of wine and was told to sit in the bar area and we would be seated "in a few minutes".We saw said Louis wander in and out of eating area to chat to barmaid then disappear again without acknowledging our presence quite a few times. At 7.12 (nearly half hour after asking to be seated) he came over and asked if we were ready to order? When we said we`d wanted to try the early evening menu and had arrived in good time but then waited 25 minutes to be seated his manner worsened and a shrug of the shoulders was followed by " that menu finishes at 6pm ". We pointed out the blackboard 5 feet behind him stating 5-7pm to which he shrugged and smirked. At this point we decided to spend elsewhere and declined the question "well do you want a table?" and said we would finish the wine and go 1/2 mile up the road to the always excellent Ashiana.During that 5 minute drinking up time we saw a mature couple leave the eating area and then query the bill at the bar saying they hadn`t had what was being charged for.Confirmation of a wise choice not to stay we thought.I had visited here when it first changed over to an Italian and the food had been good so we can only assume the latest bad reputation this place is gathering is down to the dining experience as a whole rather than the food.

First time visit here and it started well. Place was quiet but is quite stylish with nice décor. Ordered starters and garlic bread/drinks and these arrived quite quickly. Starters were well presented and were of good quality. We ordered steaks for main meal and on arrival we were disappointed with presentation. Only accompaniment was rocket and skinny fries although menu stated vine tomatoes were included. Then the trouble began, one steak was cold. We complained to waitress who apologised and we asked for steak to be reheated. Meal returned after a short while and it was a different steak. Although steak was a little improved the quality of steak was a big disappointment. Both steaks were in our eyes of poor quality bearing in mind we had the same meal at a local pub the week before which was ten times better than this. Its a good job that we were using a discount dining card as I would have been angry at paying over £36 for this poor offering. The staff were considerate and said the chef sent his apologies. When I look back we probably should have ordered a pasta or pizza which hopefully would have been ok. As mentioned before its a little sad that a pub can provide the same meal at a cheaper price and of a higher standard. Perhaps we just caught the place at an off night.

inviting and smart decor but we weren't allowed to sit in the restaurant areas so we were directed to some cafe tables and chairs which were unpleasant to look at and worse to sit on for any length of time. I asked for house white wine which was met with a million questions. I said any medium white wine was fine. More questions. The the kid on the bar decides the only suitable wine in the building, in fact the ONLY medium white in the building was a ''high-end'' wine. After this 15 minute incident at the bar I'd had enough so went to sit down and leave my date to sort it out. He of course paid a ridiculous price for a glass of wine that tasted exactly the same as any house white. We were both annoyed further when he returned to the bar to request the same again and came back with a different wine. There seemed to be a good through flow of custom ranging in ages all afternoon/ evening. We had a garlic bread which was very nice but didn't eat in the restaurant in the end for fear of the staff further lecturing us on our beverage and food choices. I can't stress enough the discomfort of a spotty teenager at the bar telling us what wine we wanted, this place is essentially a roadside cafe for goodness sake.

Italian menu, with a wide range of dishes. I had a lamb chop main course, that was surprisingly generous with the meat, cooked quite nicely, not over done or chewy, preserving the lamb flavours

My wife and I called in on Sunday evening at 6.45, having driven back from Manchester Airport. My wife had been to the Villa just before Christmas and had really enjoyed herself, so it came highly recommended. The decor of the place is fine, but there were very few people in there. We were seated straight away and offered drinks, which came quite quickly. So far so good.We each ordered the pate as a starter, but it was rather bland, although the beetroot relish lifted the dish a bit. My wife ordered the lasagne as a main course which was not layered with pasta, but had pieces of pasta in it. The mince beef also had sliced sausage in it as well. Strange.I ordered the Italian Burger, which arrived minus the grilled chorizo and cheese. The very pleasant and efficient waitress apologised and got it sorted out straight away. Unfortunately, the burger which was home made was thick, overcooked and rather dry. The skinny chips were also a little overcooked, being crispy all the way through. The chef also seems to like putting rocket with everything.Altogether this was a very disappointing meal and despite a supposed 10% discount when we had given our opinion to the manager, it was still £40. Hardly value for money. To be honest I have had better meals in a cafe in Blackpool!!

we were greeted and shown to our table by a very welcoming and friendly young woman. The menu contained lots of choices to suit most people. The fish courses looked particularly yummy. We drank the house wine which I thought was very nice and good value. Our meals were very nicely presented and cooked. I enjoyed the whole experience. In my opinion this is a nice restaurant, it's family friendly and provides food and drinks that will be enjoyed by most tastes. Don't expect to be blown away by the cuisine to do expect good food served by friendly and efficient staff

Went to restuarant on 10 Jan without booking. After a wait were seated in back room that soon became apparent was very cold with draughts coming through poorly fitted windows. Complaints were ignored and no other table was offered even though we saw other tables were available. Young staff were not trained in service and seemed upset we were asking for basics. Plates were banged down on table. Both drinks and food were expensive, and a large glass of red wine arrived freezing cold and when I complained about temperature and price (£6.50) was told that there was a more expensive wine (so stop complaining!!). On a plus side the food was good and hot. On paying the manager was asked for who gave us a discount. Would avoid if I was you.

We had been looking forward to eating at the Villa Italian for months, having enjoyed so many nice meals and great service at the Wrea Green venue. We stopped for a meal early on a Saturday evening. The place was not very busy. My wife ordered a skewer of Monk Fish, Scallops and King Prawns. It arrived looking wonderful. The Monk Fish was cooked fine, the scallops were just cooked and the Prawns were raw. We sent the food back. The waiter returned having removed the Monk Fish and Scallops with just 3 prawns on a bed of rocket. Can you imagine our disappointment when the prawns were still raw and had to be sent back.Nobody came back to our table, no apology no offer of a menu or sweet. After 30 minutes we got up and left. What a shame....

On the reputation of The Villa at Wray Green, I decided to meet a friend for an early evening meal at the Villa Express. Big mistake. From the start we were put in the corner which proved draughty . Decor is pleasant and menu choice u exciting but fine. The garlic bread with tomato was large and warm but strangely tasteless and lacking in any seasoning. Our mains, the chicken with lemon and aubergine bake looked unappetising and proved to be so. The aubergine dish should have been oven baked, what appeared was an insipid sloppy dish. The dry chicken was grey looking on a dish of rocket and grilled tomatoes - similarly bland - we had to ask for salt. Asking for decaf from the young, pleasant but slightly nervous staff caused confusion that was resolved finally. The coffee arrived with 2 melting sugar lump oozing into the saucer (I don't take sugar!) 2 small mince pies were a nice touch. It's a long time since I've paid £35 for such a poor experience. Come on Villa - this will wreck your reputation for good food and service. I will not be returning

I had taken mother out for the day and saw The Villa Express, so decided to give it a go as I love The Villa at Wrea Green. We arrived without booking and were seated right away. Although when I sat down down I was blocking an entrance/exit to another section of the restaurant. Menu didn't have a great choice of fish (not shell) except tuna or whole sea bass. Mother asked if sea bass could be filleted which they did do for her. I ordered the mushroom risotto. When the meals arrived sea bass was just half of the fish, which at £16.95 was, in my opinion, shocking. It was served with fries which were hot and crispy. I tucked into my risotto only to find a very long piece of plastic tucked in the middle. The staff apologised and brought me a replacement. The risotto was OK, but very bland and far too cheesy. I had ordered a bottle of water and mother a glass of lemonade. I then asked for another water only to be offered a jug, so that was a bonus. The bill came to £34.00 which for a really average meal was very expensive. Finally the waiter who brought the bill gave us a customer feedback card to complete. However I was surprised to see that he had given me a completed one which had the person's home address, telephone number and email address on. I handed this back to the waitress who took it from with a real of look of contempt. I felt like she thought I was deliberately picking fault.Very disappointing The Villa. Definitely won't be in a rush to return, sorry.

Stayed at the hotel for business and ate in the restaurant. It has been done up well with what looks like an old barn which has been converted to this bar/restaurant. It looks nice with some character to it.For my meal I had soup for starter and a seafood skewer for main which was tasty and well cooked. It seems the seafood is popular here as the lobster was sold out! Breakfast had a good selection of continental and cooked food options and they even toasted the croissants! The staff were friendly and attentive and it was reasonably priced too. You can see why it gets busy here! Altogether an enjoyable visit and would come here again

On 1st November a part of fifty friends from our local church visited the Villa Express (an Italian Restaurant) for a planned meal. Meal was excellent but the price of drinks is staggering. White wine spritzer cost £9 and white wine almost the same. Drinks for our party of 4 cost £54 for nine drinks. It spoiled the evening considerably. Be warned!

It is always a bad sign when the floor manager allows you to sit in an area of the restaurant which is empty bar two tables as a favour and then when you complain that the coleslaw is stale the manager shrugs her shoulders and says it Is prepared daily when it very obviously had an orange crust. The venue is so convenient and the decor and ambiance is great but if the food is over expensive and poor and the staff are arogant then there will not be repeat customers and this is the case with this place. This is the second time we have visited but there will not be a third.

Visited this place a couple of weeks ago with family. Started well with mature staff being helpful and friendly, taking our order for starters, mains and drinks. Got our starters which were okay nothing special and then......our main courses came via a very miserable scowling young girl!! Main course came with salad that consisted of half a plate of rocket leaves with a slice of tomato buried underneath, strange!! Our unfriendly waitress cleared our table. Sometime later we were asked if we would like coffee and desserts and given menus. Over thirty minutes later we were asked for our order, we all declined as it had taken so long. At the time we were there the place was rather quiet, goodness knows how service would be if it was busy!! Not a cheap place to eat so expected far better everything!! Doubt we shall be going back, lot's of far better places to eat!

After writing a previous review on this restaurant before the refurbishment had taken place and urging people to give the restaurant a second chance by those who had given a bad review, I am sorry to say I returned yesterday late afternoon for an impromptu meal and was very disappointed with my meal. The refurb appeared completed and looked very nice. We were met by a very pleasant waiter who showed us to a table in an area that overlooks the play area. It was very cold and a draught felt that was actually blowing the pot plants in the alcove above my husbands head. The tables were placed too close together. 4 tables placed very close together, seating 2 people at each. I felt like I was sitting closer to the person next to me, than my husband. Very minimal room for the waitress to manoeuvre around whilst serving. I felt like I was sat in a fast food restaurant. I felt there should only have been 2 tables not 4. We asked to be moved and sat in a little corner, again not a good table. The service was very good. The meals I am sorry to say were very bland, lacked taste and really did not taste Italian. If I had not been in an Italian restaurant then I would rate the food as ordinary every day food, with little taste. Price wise I don't really think value for money. On paying the bill the waiter asked if are meals had been ok. The reply was as above. He said he would go and have a word with management. On his return he informed he had had a word with the chef and that basically was it and chef would take our comments on board!! Mr Rigby was sat in the restaurant at the time of our departure. I feel this restaurant really does need to improve the food. Also the seating in some areas needs to be addressed. If this restaurant is going to be successful then management should may be look at these reviews. Local people will not return if peoples views are not taken into account. Personally I think this is quite an ordinary restaurant that is marketed as an Italian. I may return in the future. Watch this space.....

I was treat to a trip to The Villa Express Kirkham for my birthday & was impressed by the quality of the menu.As with most Italian's the menu was varied & there was plenty of choice across the board. The wine menu was fabulous & the specials board was impressive. The staff were friendly & attentive, it was fairly quiet as it was a Thursday evening, we pre-booked but there was plenty of capacity. Even though it was quiet we had to chase up our wine and waited 20mins for our starter of bread & olives, and only after prompting again did it arrive - we had clearly been forgotten, then compensated with a complimentary garlic bread. The food however was delicious and plentiful, the lobster ravioli was a particular treat and if you like a burger I would recommend theirs.

Visited at 8pm on a Tuesday evening. We had to wait half an hour which was fine. Ordered garlic bread and focaccia with oil and balsamic. Garlic bread was lovely, Foccacia was too hard so didn't soak the oil and balsamic. Waiter asked us if we were ready for our main when we were half way through our starters....clearly NOT!! Then another waiter tried to take my husbands drink which still had some left in it, and put his fingers in the glass. Main courses arrived which were lovely. Penne pasta with Smoked salmon and Prawns, and Penne with spicy sausage and chilli, but hubby couldn't find any spicy sausage, although he did say it was nicely spicy. Then as my favourite desert is Tiramisu, I was delighted it was top of the dessert menu, ordered it with ice cream..it arrived without ice cream, but with a stale curled chocolate wafer, and was the most insipid watery tiramisu I have ever tasted, absolutely no taste of liquer.Such a shame that what could be a wonderful eatery, and so close to our house proved to be such a disappointment.

We called here on a Saturday evening on our way to Blackpool to watch a show. There were already several people eating but it was by no means full! We were shown to a dark table which was in the walkway but declined and sat close to the window. Our drinks order was taken almost as we were seated, and we were handed the menu's. The young guy who seated us came back after about 7-8 minutes to take our food order and I had to ask where our drinks were. It was only a glass of wine and a pint of cordial! We ordered a special garlic bread which was chill, garlic and tomato. This was amazing! The base was so light that the base had bubbled and separated making it crispy on the edge. My husband ordered lasagne and chips. Its a good thing that he had ordered the side dish as the lasagne was certainly on the small side. I had something off the specials which was fish on a pea and lemon risotto. This was a substantial portion and much better value than the lasagne. All in all, this was a lovely meal. The only thing I am puzzled by, is that someone writing a review mentioned and early bird menu. We were never offered this as an option, yet were done and out of the restaurant well before 6pm. I would go again if I was passing.but wouldnt make a special journey.

This review is for the coffee shop they have attached to the restaurant for when the restaurant is closed in the afternoon. We arrived expected from a coffee shop the usual, sandwiches, cakes etc but there was cheesecake or a fruit tart and that was it in the way of cold food. The young girl taking our order didn't seem sure on how to take our order with this ipad which was attached to the counter. We order our drinks order our 2 cheese and ham paninis and 2 packets of crisps, sit outside to wait and after half an hour (bearing in mind the only people there were me, my mother in law, my 17 month old and a coupld drinking coffees) which I think is slightly excessive for 2 paninis. I go in and ask and the girl immediately does go and see where they are but then comes out and explains to us that there was a mix up with the tickets. Now I'm no genius but we were the only people there that had ordered food so I dont know how they managed to mix up our ticket. The young girl to be fair to her does offer us another round of drinks on the house for the mix up. But after this it still takes another 15 minutes and they were barely toasted, the cheese wasn't even melted and if this is how they handle 1 order in the afternoon I don't even think I'll going in the evening!

First a selection of starters which were nothing special to say this was an Italian Restaurant it could have been anywhere. Mussels in garlic and white wine was nice however the sauce was pink and very thick. The most strange thing was that two of our different pasta main meals were served with the same sauce as the mussel starter. Pizza's were OK although typical of any other pub grub in the area. Very disappointed with the food and at £70 with drinks for four at lunch time not high on the list for another call.

Four of us called in here last Saturday evening for the first time, expecting great things because of "The Villa" connection. Sadly, it didn't live up to expectations. The menu is the only thing that's Italian; everything else just has a normal daytime family restaurant feel, no evening ambience. Our food was nice, portion size was ok, but I missed having vegetables and a choice of potatoes. Most dishes just come with rocket dressing. Finally, when I went to pay the bill, there were drinks on that weren't ours. We won't be going again...

We dined here as a large group on Friday. Nearly all of our group ordered off the 2 course set menu at £11.95 for starter and main. What they didn't tell you was that if you don't fancy a starter, you can swap for a a dessert instead as a couple in our party did because they asked. There was olives and garlic bread on the table. My friend had twice asked for some bread and is still waiting. There are a few dishes to choose from and the food was nice although you don't get a lot. The drinks are quite pricey even for non drinkers. It was £2.40 for a J2O and £1.50 for a blackcurrant and soda. The staff were nice and friendly and although we were a fairly large party, the restaurant was not that busy.I would maybe consider returning as an individual.
