This place was shocking and went in for a drink whilst waiting for my son running . And had to endure listening to 3 older males' dogs running about with their chain style dog leads dragging on the floor and barking whilst they sat there and ignored these animals, and the staff did nothing i had to even say can you pick there leads up but they just laughed. For a public setting, this was quite shocking . It's very dirty and furniture needs to be thrown out.

Probably one of the worst pubs have been to a while. The only saving grace is the view from the garden over the sports fields without this there really is no reason to visit here.

Went there for lunch and jacket potatoes tasted like McCains frozen jacket was not worth getting

Great location, feels like you're up in an alpine lodge.

Had your own bar but quicker to go to maim bar. BUT good atmosphere all round.

Used this venue for a wake. Basic snack food and sarnies are OK. The place was not laid out as requested and is disgusting dirty. In need of a good clean. The kids behind the bar have a serious attitude issue and failed to supply the dairy free option and then sulked when asked to supply the requested item. Not a good experience and the recommendation is to avoid at all costs.

This bar is more run down than I remember it , but we sat outside and enjoyed the view of the Sports centre. The staff were pleasant and we were served with out waiting . We did not eat there so cannot comment on food.

The View...well what can i say thats good about this place..not much in fact very little ...the food we all wanted they never had...they had no pudding...drink were like dish water... Ask for coke and got pepsi... My friend wanted orange and lemonade and end up with a dishwasher version plus the drinks were warm not cold.... We're not going there in a hurry Again.....

Private party, bartender was slow , could have done with 2. Prices were good and a great place to have an event. Overall, it was a great night.

First time here for a roast dinner service great food the best roast I've tasted plenty to choose from will definitely be back

Large, friendly pub, with ample space for most functions, nice carvery lunch on a Sunday, and close to the sports centre.

Lovely place to gather , have a good meal and celebration

A lovely place to visit in summer when you can sit outside and admire the view across the sports centre. The food is good. I've been here for two organised lunch events and enjoyed both. We've also enjoyed coming for lunch or just a cup of coffee..

Brilliant show staff very friendly, But venue could do with a little update.

Just been to the Brosdway show and had the best time in years. Decor could do with updating but great day by us all, a family of 8

It gets a bit cold sometimes, but otherwise, it's a lovely place to go. Nice genuine staff who care. I had a lovely surprise, too. I was going to give 4* because of the cold, but its a simple fix, so I'll still rate it 5* and they attended to it relatively quickly. We will be back for more karaoke soon! The snack bits aren't snacks for one lol. Dirty chips are lush with bacon. The nachos were lovely (guacamole sauce was weird) goo amount of cheese and chilli peppers. Yum!

Very disappointed not a drop of milk for tea or coffee food very limited setting amazing but bar needs sorting

First visit and thought I had walked into the late seventies. Sort of place you would find on a 70's caravan site. Food took an eon to come due to fryers being cleaned out. Staff very apologetic but did spoil the visit as we had to wait nearly 90 minutes for Fish Scampi and chips. When food arrived it looked nice. Fish and Scampi looked liked been cooked too quickly as Scampi had runny liquid inside and the fish looked odd. On another day things may have been different. Sadly I will not return. Also at present no disabled parking a available. A modern refurb would be welcoming . Thanks to the staff and chef who tried their best under the circumstances.

We would like to thank all the staff especially James for all their hard work and going the extra mile for us on Monday , we held a wake there and can,t praise them all enough ,from the food to the customer service and the background music it was everything we had asked for and the guests were very complimentary and all enjoyed the freshly cooked buffet x

Have been in the past, but went again last night for a private booking. Staff where friendly and let my wife try a half pint to see If she’d like it. Venue was big enough in space, has outdoor seating, great for summer days, the view is of the Southampton sports centre.

Me and my mum came here to for a drink, whilst my younger brother was playing football. We did not try the food and don’t think we will. It’s like a forest of fruit flies. We also had to wait 10 minutes to get served which is normal if you’re in a busy bar but there was 1 couple in there and they were already eating their food. Would not go again.

Attended a function there and it was a perfect venue for the occasion.

Go there for drinks in the sunshine and it's all good but I've ordered food 3 times 1st time 2 plates was the wrong meals , 2nd time again wrong meals or bringing meals out with half of what is ment to be on the plate then 3rd time was told to wait a hour n kitchen will re open due to a buffet being made that's fine waited the hour to then be told that it wasn't opening again with a hungry 2 year old I was not impressed so as a family and with friends won't be ordering food from hear again will just stick to a drink at this pub and go else we're for meals out

Decent place, kind of in the middle of no where and difficult to park (especially if there are functions on which means you need to know the area in order to find a parking place, and that will still be about a 15 min walk away). Decent bar, pricey considering location but good for events (e.g. receptions, small conference talks /mini lectures).

The food was disgusting. My son's lasagna was like soup. My mums hunter chicken was chewy and then had a slab of ham on top. My chicken wings felt like someone had poured a jar of sauce over them. Sorry but won't be coming back.

Excellent place they have a park to take the kids 2 mins away so is very good

Lovely spot to walk the dog, and we stopped off for a beer in The View. It was a nice place with a family vibe.

Used the function room it was great and food that was laid on was fantastic and staff was very helpful and polite

Booked a table here for carvery after using the Alpine facility's (doughnutting) was not disappointed. The meat was delicious so were the Roasts and Yorkshire puds. Enjoyed a small selection of veg, and pigs jn blankets. Honestly was the nicest carvery in a long time. Will be back. Don't have photos to busy enjoying it

Cold meal, cold place to be sitting and eating, not much left, in vegetable pans, needs to be hot when eating a meal,plates was cold to so made food go even colder, plates need to put in warmer,not left on side.

Nice pleasant place to have a quiet drink. Not too much noise haven't eaten there as yet, but I will go back for food sooner or later .

I've been here twice for a reception in the function room. Both times the food has been very good (although the tea was awful.. needs to buy better tea bags), and the staff friendly and helpful. The views over the sports centre are lovely and it would be nice to have the curtains away from the windows in order to enjoy the view.. lovely to sit outside in the warm weather....

Love this place food is lovely staff are so polite and the atmosphere is so calm even when busy . Would definitely recommend to everyone. Prices are also very good. Definitely a place to go with the family

Attended a party on Saturday 26th Dec. The room was gorgeous! Really nicely decorated and the bar staff extremely friendly. Look forward to returning for another party soon.

Sunday carvery was great value and very tasty, staff were very polite and accommodating while behind the bar, it would have been 5 stars if the staff were a bit more efficient and take the initiative to clear the table when the meal has been finished, they could also do a table check, another niggle is proper condiments rather than loads of sachets. Basically the staff need training on service and standards, this would greatly improve efficiency and productivity, were there desserts on offer??? We do not know, however, I would definitely go again and recommend.

Bit run down. The garden area needs a good clean along with the tables. What's with the plastic flowers everywhere? Bit odd. This place should and could be buzzing with the right management and ideas. The location is great.

They do some nice quality inexpensive food here. Good location next to the Sports Centre. The service was a bit slow and the outside area needs smartening up but otherwise it is worth a visit. Recommended.

We waited over an hour for food then to be told the food my daugther ordered they didn't have the food she wanted this happen twice!!, when our food eventually arrived the chips were cold and the steak was full of gristle the chief did offer us free deserts but we decided to leave and will never go back!

Not a good atmosphere I found. We were going to eat, but the table for 12 wasn't ready, so tables were shoved together quickly. Not cleaned. A very different experience to the 1st time I went there, which was clean, food was good and had a waiter/waitress service. None of that 2nd visit. Such a shame as the location is great.

Just had a excellent day at the view ,staff are amazing ,catering staff are just the best at what they do with the roast dinner that makes us come back time and time again..well done Tom,and all the staff for organising a very gooday for all the family

Just had a carvery there with my partner absolutely fantastic everything was homemade and all full of flavour. We eat out all over the country and we can fully recommend this for a carvery. Great portions and well worth the money. Don't change what you are doing guys it's spot on. We will definitely visit again.

Visited today for the first time and the last. The “chefs” serving the carvery were sticking their fingers in the potatoes and the meat with no gloves on and eating it when they thought no one was looking. The sour cream on the nachos was curdled. Someone from the kitchen walked past our table and you could still smell him after he walked off. Dread to think what the kitchen looks like. Felt sick to the stomach and didn’t eat my food. Never again!

Enjoyed a great family roast on Sunday, generous serving of meats, roast potatoes, stuffing ball and yorkshire, and help yourself to fresh veggies all cooked well. My son in law is a chef and I was a chef many years ago we were both quite impressed, the only slight criticism was the beef was a bit well done, and the poor chefs knife could have been sharper! We will be going again. Great value meal

Plates should be hot as should veg. Unfortunately they were not. Dessert was very nice. Staff should listen to customers instead of walking away when being spoken to n not ignore customer. Doubt if I will use carvery again unless changes made.

Went due to playing sport in the area and the refurbishment that has happened in the past 3 years is really good. Well worth a visit

Nice location and convenient after sports to relax haver a bite to eat and a pint. The lagers on tap are good but the draft ales are not drunk enough during the week to keep them rotating enough, they do however stock some reasonably priced bottled beers if you prefer something less carbonated. They have improved the decor inside significantly over the last few years and it is much nicer to sit in there on a cold day with a hot drink while enthusiastic partners or kids run around on the sports facilities below.

Ideally located and could be a hidden gem. approaching from the sports area, the facility has outdoor seating, lots of space and great views over the pitches. Coming to it from the Triangle Car park, I thought it was derelict. Part of the roof fabric is falling off and there is a broken down camper van dumped at the entrance. A sign directs customers to the entrance overlooking the fields. I am not surprised. Could do better.

Ordered 2 box meals, no salad (although stated on the menu), no sauces, the hotdog (sold as a frankfurter) was cold and was literally a hotdog in a roll (no onion or mustard), the chips were over fried and crispy. Staff didn't seemed reluctant to communicate with customers. Awful experience and the most disappointing £25 spent on a meal out for 2!

Unfriendly staff. Almost like we were an inconvenience. Part of food missing, tortillas and garlic bread, just said they had run out. Asked for a diet coke and was given a can, had to ask for a glass. Won't be going there again.

Pubs empty 7 of us ordered food waited over half an hour for it to come out tasteless and cold, staff not great either

More a pub than a cafe, they do at least serve tea, coffee and cookies. Beautiful view and setting let down by tatty, dirty outdoor furniture.

Shamefully presented, very much get the feeling management has given up - walked past today and the entire outdoor area was full of people inhalling balloons and the entire place was covered in litter. Decided to go somewhere else.

Nice bar and cafe. Sport (e.g football, rugby and cricket) is available to watch here through BT sports and SKY sports. Nice place to stop for a pint after exercising in the local sports area or for a proper meal. Large outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. Toilets are also here. Suitable for children and families.

Great staff great food and great homemade food. With great view.
