10/10 service, George was the best staff member. The sweeping of the rain and table service was a particular highlight!

Can’t believe the service provided at this pub, food is always lovely and George was the most perfect bar member who has ever graced this earth. Get yourself here and ask for him personally. Highly recommend

Fantastic old school pub with all its charm and a great beer selection

paid £5.10 for just orange juice and lemonade which is crazy, wouldn’t have ordered for that price if i’d known before.

Went there Monday for few after work beers with my colleagues, staff here are brilliant they welcomed us with smile and served us very quickly , it’s cosy and clean. I have tried their burgers and wraps few times before and they are very good as well. Worth a visit.

Food was amazing, very tasty very fullfilling. Paid when ordering which i personally prefer. The staff were very welcoming and checked up on you throughout the meal. Highly recommend (especially the sticky toffee pudding)

Popped in for a quick pint and it seemed like a nice pub, obviously very old and full of character.

Staff very rude, loud, constantly swearing and using other foul language. Not sure if this was with regulars, but even then, this is not nice with others around. A taxi driver came in and made an enquiry, when leaving the staff were quick to mock him. Place is filthy, even after wiping table with wet wipes three times it was still black. Lots of flies/fleas/midges.

It has changed a lot since I drank here with my dad in the early 80s. Missing the atmosphere it once had.

The best fish and chips ever. Beautiful chunky cod and gorgeous chips. Delicious. And fabulous chicken sizzler. Hot and spicy.

We stopped here while doing some shopping and we’re so glad we did, really old school pub vibes with a brilliant menu! They said they just had the Garden done and it was such a great little sun trap, we will definitely be back!

I've liked this pub for many years. Right in the centre and they serve good beer. Not the cheapest pub but that's Brighton for you.

Great burger but the table was dirty and the guy was so indifferent, no cutlery, tried to take the plate when I hadn't finish without saying a word. In his own world.

A hidden gem off the beaten track, reasonably priced food and very good quality.

Like other reviews I’ve read, ran in for shelter from the rain and ended up ordering some food. Really delicious, hot and fresh, generous portions. We had a bacon cheeseburger which was juicy with a great homemade sauce, and the fish and chips were crispy but not overdone. Will definitely come back if I’m in Brighton again!

It's okay nice and cosy pub , but yet again very expensive I was shocked tbh

Ordered their fish chips and cheese burger to share. The fish was nick nicely done with crispy batter coating and moist cooked fish outside. The accompanying chips were huge and flavorful, but the mushy peas are a tad dry. Taste ok eaten with the tartar sauce that served with the fish. The cheese burger was tasty and juicy. Tried their crafted beer, refreshing, and went well with the food. I would recommend this place.

Working away in the area and looked at some reviews for my evening meal. The pub is cosy, the staff are friendly and the food is great. If in the area a great spot and will call in again if in Brighton.

My recent dining experience at The Victory Inn with my family, including our furry companion, was a mix of delight and frustration. As usual, we settled into our preferred spot, either indoors or outdoors, expecting the tables to be clean and ready for us to order. However, this time, we found ourselves repeatedly asking for every single item and service we needed, which was quite unexpected given our frequent visits. It felt like the staff were stretched thin, multitasking and struggling to attend to each customer individually. This led to some discomfort, especially for the bartender who seemed to be handling multiple tasks at once. Despite the service challenges, the food was a shining star, earning top marks from our group. Each dish was prepared with care and delivered with a cheerful demeanor, which somewhat mitigated the inconvenience we faced with the service. The menu offered a delightful array of traditional pub fare, satisfying both our cravings and our expectations. The ambiance of The Victory Inn added to the overall experience, transporting us to an authentic English pub setting. The cozy interior was adorned with charming decor and memorabilia, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It was evident that the establishment took pride in its heritage, and we enjoyed exploring the various trinkets and artifacts scattered throughout the space. However, amidst the nostalgic charm, there were noticeable areas that could benefit from improvement. Did not eat so cannot comment on food. The chap behind the bar was welcoming and efficient . The drinks were good and reasonably priced. The pub is wonderful and full of character. Well worth a visit, so skip Spoons and go straight here.

Where do I start! I really going to the Victory Inn for the great variety of food! The presentation is very appealing to give you the "I'm gonna smash this" and not ending up finishing it but it's so delicious you take it back home in a take away box and have it for lunch the next day. It's that sort quality of food and well seasoned meats you just wouldn't want it to go to waste. In the pic; - Lebanonese Shawarma Wrap w/fries - Nachos Cheese Guac Salsa etc with added Chicken Shawarma - Beef Sizzler (proper siZZZZZZling away, on a hot day even the steam was there) Would recommend to try the Shawarma, it's a 10/10! Will be going back there and taking my friends as it's bang in the center of Brighton and it's definitely great food to have before a good night! Sunday roast. Unbelievable. The picture says it all.

Lovely pub, the roast dinners we had were amazing and the drinks are so good. Matt our server was so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend!

The place is quite lovely, antique looking, the waitress is great and fast.

Good if not too busy however also good menu choices and stuff to be had there, so plan to see this place again at some point in the future. Good to see some nice stuff to have each time that have come here.

Food was absolutely delicious, as a chef myself it's so wonderful to find what I really like elsewhere. Well done to the chef at the victory Inn.

Nice chilled out pub, with a function room upstairs for private events, and situated in heart of laines, this is well worth a visit, even if just calling past on way to seafront or to stay in and meet friends for a few hours

Food was exceptional and 2 for 1 burgers on a Tuesday.

Nice pub but their menu was not as advertised. They put us on a reserved table that was too small but was able to rectify this. Food was just burgers and chips mainly which took a long time to be served and one dish was even later. We had expected the menu to be Sunday lunch or the menu advertised. Shame as this was booked for a Birthday celebration. Still nice enough.

Bar staff are alright, standard Brighton prices on pints. Quite dark on the inside but I like that in a pub!

Great pub with great roasts in the centre of town Staff are always lovely and really helpful, while the food is consistently very good. Definitely worth a visit if you fancy somewhere central that has good food at a reasonable price.

This is a classic Brighton pub. It's changed quite a bit but it retains its warm atmosphere. Live music on the night we went too.

We only ducked in here for a pint due to the downpour but so glad we did! The smell of the lunch was amazing! Staff were so friendly and the atmosphere so lovely that 1 pint turned into 3 and by then I was absolutely ravenous. We were kindly squeezed in even though they were super busy and enjoyed a fantastic roast beef dinner that was enormous! Would not hesitate to come back and would highly recommend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great pub. Came to Brighton from Nottingham for a holiday. Food is brilliant, quite large portions so you may want to share if you aren't too hungry! Staff are really friendly. Definitely recommend. Can't say a bad word about it to be honest.

Greatest Place in Brighton!!! Extremely nice and friendly Bartenders good Drinks and Fair prices. The Ambiente is as great as everything. Had a Verry lovely and nice stay. We will definitely come back if we are coming to Brighton another time. We spent about 4 hours on one and 6 hours on another day here

I went to this pub on a they had on butter on tap and the beer was off. So a pub with no hand pump bitter!

Filthy tables sticky felt very unwelcome by lazy staff eating at the bar went back for a other drink not busy but she'd rather play with the chalk board than serve waiting customers when she eventually served me rolled her eyes when I asked about different drinks ...get em on customer service course, shame lovely setting oldy pub but run by kids

Visiting Brighton and called in for a beer. Lovely old traditional pub, the bar staff recommended a local beer called "rippa" which turned out to be a really great proper ale. Would visit again.

Two Finnish tourists were happy after finishing their trip to the UK by having the obligatory fish and chips here on the last night. Bonus points for wheelchair accessibility.

Went for dinner on a Monday night whilst visiting Brighton, had the nachos and the chicken shawarma burger, both were very tasty and extremely generous portions, beer was good too and the service was friendly! Also, some great tunes on the playlist. Would definitely go back!

I came here every night ony hols, Team treated me like a local, Brixton beer on tap... Heaven. Visited June 23 and the Brixton is gone. Boooo! Still nice enough pub and server Gentleman on bar was very friendly

Lovely little pub set in the centre of Brighton. The decor makes it feel comfortable. A great choice of beers and wines. A good food menu is available. I personally chose the Yankee burger, and it was the tastiest burger I've had in a long time. The staff were friendly and attentive. So if you are visiting or indeed live in Brighton, I can highly recommend this pub

Great traditional pub in centre of Brighton

Visited the pub on Tuesday11th April during a 2 night stay in Brighton. Found it to have a friendly atmosphere and pleasant staff. Had the burger with blue cheese and fries which was cooked perfectly and extremely tasty. Generous portion size too. Had a great time and was two for one on the burgers on a Tuesday night which was an unexpected bonus. Will definitely drop back in next time were in Brighton.

Excellent roast dinner, there was 21 of us & between us we had everything on the menu, lamb chicken pork beef vegan nut roast & mushroom cranberry Brie pie, with all the trimmings … the delicious food all came at the same time, piping hot, brilliant service.. 10/10

Food was amazing, I had Lebanese salad with chicken shawarma and my husband has the lamb shawarma wrap and they were both absolutely delicious! Also had a garlic bread which was also fab! Will be coming here again and recommending to our friends!
