The pub food in it’s proper definition. Huge, delicious portions, nachos are top notch. Recommend to go with “pub classic” menu, burgers are just burgers.

They only do Sunday roast but nothing had any flavour. No seasoning, no real care to make it good. The staff were really nice though.

Father's Day. The pub was really busy but the staff remained friendly and welcoming. A good standard Sunday roast with vegetables better than in many similar establishments. Generous portions at a fair price. The little gardens were useful for the toddler in the group. This will be our 'local' from now on.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Victoria in Tilehurst is a proper English pub. Great venue, attention to detail decor, nice gardens (they have banana palms, quality). TV screens showing the football. Lively diverse crowd of locals - it gets noisey. Music from the juke box. Decent number of tables to sit at and drink or eat. The menu is okay and offers standard pub fair (fish and chips for me every time). The landlords are cool and do not tolerate stupidity. Staff are friendly and service is good. Security on the door as is standard these days. There is a pool table but take your own screw tips (for some reason people seem to steal them? … ???). This has the character of the old pubs I grew up in … I didn’t think they existed anymore… Great pub. Recommended. 5 stars easily.

Called at very short notice to see if they could give me a table for 7 , very accommodating and found me a table ,the food is outstanding and the staff where very friendly and on point . I definitely recommend The Victoria I will definitely be going back .

First time at the Victoria with my family. Very good fresh cooked food and generous portions at affordable prices. The staff were efficient and very friendly and engaging. Very popular with family and friends groups. We'll worth a visit, but book first as the tables appear not to be empty for very long.

Have lived in Tilehurst for over 20 years and never been in Victoria , not being a pub type person or drinker but heard they done a good roast so tried out on 15 May, wasn't disappointed. Partner and I had roast beef, cooked to perfection as was all the trimmings, couldn't fault it - compliments to the chef. And a mention to the young lady behind the bar, she was very friendly and very efficient. Thoroughly recommend. And a mention for landlord who responded to me from his holiday to book a table. Thanks to all

I had the best service and the bacon and chicken ceaser wrap is the best I've had in a very long time. My partner also finished his entire meal within minutes. Great food and cheap drinks. There's nothing better than a local pub

Great pub! Great food! They also do a terrific "proper" Sunday roast. Unlike a lot of pubs the staff make sure everything is fully covid secure.

The Sunday roast is insanely great value and quality of food. Weekly changes to the menu make it a great option to consider if you fancy a pub roast. Staff and service is always kind and warning.

I booked into here a couple of weeks ago to take my mum out somewhere local, and we were not disappointed it was lovely, all the safety precautions taken seriously we filled out a form with our details and sanitised our hands, we were then guided to our table once seated our drinks order was taken while we browsed the menu, then our food order was taken, the food was quick coming out and piping hot we throughly enjoyed our meal, we wil be definitely going back sometime hopefully soon, the staff were very friendly, helpful and polite, thank you for a nice meal

Nice pub, nice selection of beer. Covid wise they have the full set up. NHS track and trace code or sign in register if you don't have the app. Screens up around the bar. Table service with all staff wearing masks. Great screens to watch the footy.

Good service and food was tasty

We’ve had their takeaway roast dinners before (absolutely amazing and fantastic value) so we decided to eat in on Sunday. They didn’t disappoint - absolutely delicious, great service and a really friendly welcome, with the added bonus that those who had room, ordered pudding!! Not me I hasten to add - full to the brim!!

I felt the safe distancing from staff behind the bar wasn't as it should be, they didn't stay behind the screens to talk to customers, just leaning on the bar thinking nothing of it, just my opinion.

We had 2 x take away roasts (beef and chicken). They were ready on time, very hot, even after the ten minute ride home. The food was packaged such that there was no spoiling in transit. The meat portions were very generous, well cooked and tender, complimented with four veg' and a YP. Excellent value for £10.

We ordered four take away roasts today 10/5/20 two beef, one chicken and one pork. The meals were ready at the required time, piping hot and the portion size was very generous.Now onto the taste where do i start the meals were cooked to perfection and full of flavour, beef was tender Yorkshire pudding homemade and the gravy was so tasty. Then the vegetables proper roasts potatoes and fresh parsnips what a meal. Chicken was tender and came with stuffing and the pork was so flavoursome. We will definitely be eating here again, Compliments to the chef!!!

Visited here for the first time since new management took over. What an amazing change! Delicious homemade pub grub AND the chef made me homemade chips due to my gluten allergy. Hunters chicken was delicious and my other half’s steak was cooked perfectly rare. Used to be our local drinking pub, now it’s our local for dinner and drinks. We shall be back! Thank you for such a good experience :)

I had a fantastic experience down The Victoria, good garden, good atmosphere in the pub! Only let down was a loud Bolton fan who was speaking about somewhere they aren't really from for hours on end.

The barman was grumpy and quite blunt when talking to customers

This pub serves no food at all. Most of the customers are foul mouthed, and use the F word twice in every sentance. The pub is a disgrace and would be best closed and sold for building land. The pub has no community value.

How can a pub not have lemon or lime to put in Gin and Tonic?

If you want a good Sunday lunch this is the place to go! You will get a man sized portion of roast potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, meat of the day and a very tasty gravy. You will come away totally satisfied especially if you have dessert too. Very friendly staff and a good atmosphere.

We called into the Victoria for lunch on Saturday and were pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and efficient the food was non pretentious freshly prepared pub grub. They have a walled garden for those nicer warmer days.

Bar staff look miserable. When I asked a question to bar staff he could not even be bothered to talk and just shook he's head,

Absolutely impeccable good food very reasonably priced, staff where talkative freindly and helpful. The regulars where freindly and good fun, i will recommend this place to anybody and most definitely return.

Absolutely one of the best roast dinners I have had outside of my own home. You could really taste that it was home-cooked. Excellent value for money.

Would be nice to see management around there never there

Food was terrible. Pints expensive. WiFi didn't work. Neither did their card machine half the time. Put money into their itbox thinking it was a quiz machine but it turned out to just be slots. One of their TVs was bust when we watched the footy. Overall lots of improvement needed.
