I liked this very pleasant and friendly vegetarian cafe/restaurant. It open a year ago and has barely made its first anniversary. It tended to be quiet in the daytime and only occasionally drew big numbers in the evenings. A huge pity because the atmosphere and food was good. About a month ago I posted a photograph of the place unattended and dark with mail accumulating on the doormat. I was reporting my disappointment. TripAdvisor didn’t accept that or the review as appropriate. But today I was back there and this afternoon the local newspaper on line has made the position plain.

Excellent plant based cafe/ restaurant. Myself and my partner had drinks and dinner and were impressed, we will definitely be returning! Food was so tasty, and the cocktails were great too. We were greeted by a very friendly and knowledgable server which made our date night even better. A proper hidden gem of a restaurant and will be recommending to my friends

The breakfast I chose was so hot with chilli I couldn’t eat it. It said it came with a “fried egg” too but there was no “egg”. I was offered something else as I couldn’t eat it but then without any warning was charged half price for the meal I couldn’t eat. Absolutely disgusting, i will never return and would not recommend it

I came here for a quick lunch as the menu looked appealing and I like to eat healthy if I can. I asked the waitress what was in the superfood salad. She was unable to tell me and stated that she would “have to ask the chef” but did not offer to do so. I then asked what the curry if the day was and again she did not know. She was not forthcoming in going to find out. If I was to work in a cafe I feel it would be important to know the details of the food on offer. I plumped for the rainbow salad, imagining an abundance of colourful healthy grains, veg etc. Instead what I was presented with was a small bowl of lacklustre wilted salad leaves, with dried out beetroot and carrots, and some unidentified fake meat, with no dressing to speak of. Very disappointing for £12! I left feeling hungry and unsatisfied. Will not be returning.

This is a spacious, friendly, warm, clean, tidy cafe. It is hassle free and the vegetarian ethos is not inhibiting or oppressive.prices are average. I have come in several times for a coffee and sometimes for a snack. The tables are big enough to spread a newspaper, they have free WiFi although it’s not that powerful. It’s a reasonable place to do a crossword, catch up or chat with friends. But it could do with more customers and buzz. There is a very low key barely visible A board out on the pavement but it’s not very enticing. There’s a reasonable football along here and many people look in without pausing. Inside the counter is amicably staffed but there are no obvious signs with prices etc even on the pastries and choc goodies etc. The printed menus have small fonts and don’t leap at you. This place needs to come to life. My sitting in the window, smiling and waving at passing friends and neighbours will not alone bring the Veg Patch to life.

Dropped in for a casual lunch and had an amazing jerk chicken wrap with plantain on the side. The team were friendly and welcoming but the real star was the jerk chicken wrap that I'll be getting a lot more of in the not too distant.

Don’t like how the owner/driver parks outside. Taking up two spaces, not allowing people who live around here to park.

Cracking fish and chips. Always freshly cooked, always great quality and always piping hot. The portions are huge too. Can’t ask for more from a takeaway.
