The Vanilla Pod Coffee Bar in Newport

A warm , cosy , clean feel about the place , very professional staff , excellent coffee & the food was superb & very tasty, nothing was too much of an effort, I even asked to be seated on the more comfier upright benches due to a recent back operation.

I’ve been to the Vanilla Pod lots of times and have never been disappointed. The food and the service there are second to none. The lovely lady who served us really went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our food and had a good experience. Our breakfasts were delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic. My favourite local cafe!

Popped in on a Saturday at about 2 so kitchen was closed but cafe was open for coffee and cake. Had a lovely “bonfire” mint and chocolate cake and a really nice coffee! Staff were very friendly and the space was very nice.

A gem of a place. Off the beaten track. Located in an remote spot however that doesn’t deter patrons from making the pilgrimage to this excellent eatery such is the quality of their food. A spacious ambient cafe with seating for approximately 30 in addition to a comfortable seating area which is where we parked up. A substantial and very reasonably priced menu and we ordered two items off the breakfast menu. It was delicious and served immaculately. We followed this up with a colossal custard slice. It’s dog friendly too so we will be back with our dog for another visit. The only downfall is the lack of parking which is due to its popularity. Book in advance too as it is extremely popular and gets really busy.

Went to this fantastic place for my daughter in law's baby shower today, we had afternoon tea which was absolutely fabulous and such great value for money, will definitely return to taste more of their great food, thank you.

Most people only know of this place if they work in the area or by word of mouth!!! Hidden away, sadly with dire access to parking this cosy, wonderful place is such a treat!! A fantastic selection of soup, warm bread, sandwiches with tasty fillings, more substantial lunches and cake mmmm the cake!!!! It is quirky but in a way many places try to be and fail. Once inside you forget you're on an industrial estate, relax and enjoy the food and service!!! I love meeting old work friends here as a treat and brunch on Saturdays with my family.

A sandwich to take away, simple no fills. They are keeping it competitive at £3 for a sandwich, drink and crisps. Keeping it competitive but at what cost ! TASTE. If you want to attract return customers to this sideline of yours then don't let yourselves down in providing a sub standard offering. There is no thought gone into what makes a tasty sandwich, just keeping it simple to make business sense for the £3 cost. I asked for a Tuna Mayo sandwich, there is no salad, or sweetcorn or maybe it bit of cucumber. I asked if I could pay extra for some sweetcorn with the Tuna mayo, the server said I don't know if we have any, told me to pick some crisps and asked what drink I want!! (I just want a nice sandwich). When she came back she handed me my sandwich and she said there's no sweetcorn. Maybe this may have been nice to have known before my purchase. So I sit here munching through a tasteless tuna mayo sandwich, the bread is too thick and the filling is bland. I've eaten at the cafe which is quite nice and no reflection at all on the takeaway sandwich that they offer. But Please, if you have any love of food, ditch your sandwich take away side line or revisit what you are doing and offer something tasty. I just wanted a simple Tuna and sweetcorn sandwich on brown, its not a lot to ask I wont be buying again, but you probably wouldn't even care anyway. Poor show!

We had a great lunch here. They had a range of great paninis and salads but the real treat is the cake. They had a great range and the coffee was great. The staff were really friendly and made you very welcome. Really glad we went

I sent the vanilla pod a message on Facebook on my requirements for a buffet lunch the following day, they replied timely and shortly afterwards i spoke with Kelly. Nothing was too much trouble, Kelly made some suggestions for buffet items and when It arrived on time the next day it didn’t disappoint, lovely fresh thick sliced bread, sausages were delicious and the side items were still warm. Kelly also done a beautiful box of assorted brownies with strawberries, again lovely. Definitely recommend

I've just had a brilliant afternoon tea with friends. The food was of a very high standard and excellent value. It was very tasty, fresh and beautifully presented and there was plenty of variety. The staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. The tables were well spaced and there was hand gel available at the entrance and in the bathroom. I'd highly recommend The Vanilla Pod.
