Lovely little pub, great beer garden at the back. We intended going there for food but got there too early, they only serve food from 3pm onwards, so just had a drink outside instead

We called in as we'd heard they did food between 3 and 6pm. We were camping in the area and had not been before. Lovely Guiness & ale pie washed down with a few pints of Theakstons. A great meal, and a great atmosphere too. A proper homely pub 👍🏼👍🏼

Their web site stated the opening hours and meal times but on arrival there was no parking at all, we had to walk quite a distance to the pub only to find they do not open the kitchen on Wednesdays. The owners of the establishment need to update their web site for any future customers which is also stated on other trip advisor posts.

A lovely pub. Doesn’t look much on the outside but inside there are comfy chairs and a warm welcome. Dogs welcome too. Outside there is a covered seating area with a proper fireplace which would be fantastic on those colder evenings.

Been to the valentine a few times now it's a lovely quearky little pub. The young lady behind the bar can't do enough for you and the food was beautiful will definitely be back 😋

Walked to this pub for dinner from the local caravan site. We had checked opening times on google and swung by earlier in the day to check the sign on the door. Kitchen was due to be open 3pm to 7pm everyday. Sadly our walk was in vain as the kitchen wasn’t opening until Thursday ( in 2 days!) Very disappointing at first as there aren’t many options within walking distance. However, it turns out the Little Indian Chef was excellent so the Valentine Inn’s loss was The Little Indian Chef’s and our gain!!

Only called for a drink could definitely be made more welcome. There will be no return visit. I hope that in the future there is a better welcome for out of town customers

Brilliant pub, cannot fault it on anything

Very traditional country pub with good beers and quality home cooked food. A small menu, but what's was available was very good quality. I'd recommend the Steak pie. Landlord was great and locals were welcoming too. Parking is an issue but there are side streets that are safe to park in with a short walk. I still Recommend Valentines.

It was our last night and we thought we would treat ourselves and go out for a nice meal. The food was mediocre and was all ping food and very over priced to say it was Aldi's finest. We had looked at the menu online and it said there was fish pie but when we got there we were told it was a fish butty! My family do have big appetites but even I found the portion sizes small compared to the price, a jacket potato with a bit of lettuce over £10 ( to be fair that came with salad but my 11 Yr boy only eats lettuce) me and my daughter had scampi which was 13.95 and very disappointing, a handful of chips that didn't taste great and 6 pieces of scampi, worth about £6-7 in my opinion. My partner had pie and mash which to be fair he said tasted nice, again very expensive for the portion size £16 . The lady who served us was very nice and it was a lovely quaint pub, prob best for just drinks as no parking at the pub, a very disappointed night out! Definitely the right pub you need to change the website to match what you actually serve then people wouldn't be disappointed !! My partner didn't want me to say anything, so he filled the award silence when you asked if it was ok by saying it was nice and he would have liked the plate if he could! It was very over priced for what it was so you wouldn't have done anything about that, hence why you should change your website to match what you actually ser e then you wouldn't get bad reviews!!

This was always one of our favourite local pubs. We are big fans of real ale, so that combined with the cosy atmosphere, open fires and a great beer garden were perfect. However since the new tenants arrived it has lost a lot of its charm. What I find objectionable is the endless need for loud unpleasant pop music. This is mainly for the entertainment of the staff, as I'm sure if you took a straw pole most customers would prefer to relax with either no or just some subtle background music. Please take on board these comments and maybe ask your customers what they prefer.

We have been coming to llanddulas for twenty years so I was surprised at the price of the drinks , 1 pint of beer 1 glass of wine £9.40 !!! Last year £6.80 .crisps £1.50 really. A lovely pub spoilt by the prices . No food as advertised.

Beautiful old pub with great staff and ambience. Small and very cosy. One of our absolute favourites. Parking is quite difficult but there's a lovely cemetery opposite that you can park by at the back of it. Then have a spooky walk through the cemetery to the pub!

We dropped in before going to Conwy Brewery as didn't open till 5, it's more lunch grub but it definitely did for us, beef & onion baguette, fish finger bap and hotdog and chips for my son, staff couldn't be more pleasant and friendly. Would recommend and return, only thing no parking at all, you have to park on a side road.

Amazing food. Have recreated done of the dishes back home. Very crowded though but understandable as staff and food were great.

I bloody loved The Val - from supping illegally at 17 in the ‘70s, through all its incarnations right up to date. No trip back home has ever been complete without a pint (or 6 😜)The last team (the family Faux) took it to probably it’s zenith and whilst sad to see them move on, was encouraged some months ago on meeting the new guv’nor - who seemed to have all the right ideas and say all the right things. Hugely surprised therefore to see the pub’s up for grabs again but whilst it’s one thing to make all the right noises; it’s another to put those noises in practice.5pm on a summer Friday afternoon - peak season. The place absolutely REEKS of old chip fat, the 3 ale pumps sit unused and unloved (either poor planning or lazy cellar keeping) and unsurprisingly, the place is empty. A sad sad day in Llanddulas, and I can only hope that a change of hands is imminent and able to reverse the decline.

Staff was absolutely amazing the food was such a let down £16 for a burger that was tougher than leather £18.50 steak burger steak was ok chips were frozen chips such a beautiful place absolutely gutted the food was such a let down unfortunately will never return 😢

Walked today and arrived at 2pm all shut up apparently they don’t open at 12pm has stated on the website it would be helpful to customers to know when it opens because the opening times are not correct

Unusual, quirky pub. Lots of different areas to sit in the pub, plus garden. Good selection of drinks with friendly service. We visited at 4pm, one other couple there. Hence four for atmosphere.

We are totally confused by this place. Been twice before prior to the takeover. Food was lovely, we live on the Wirral so travelling back from Wales we would stop here. Large family group had been to Zip world, I suggested going here for later lunch/early dinner at 3pm. Total disaster. So embarrassed. Food was dire. I had to come home and read the reviews, did we visit the wrong Valentine? Edited lowlights, chewy steak sandwich priced at £18! Ordered extra wedges, cheapest flavourless frozen wedges arrived. Rarebit chips, vile. Congealed cheese with far too much mustard. One person added the bacon and gravy. Bacon was just chewy and gristly, gravy was a solid lump in the pot. Great concept and read well on the menu, needs work on execution. Cheapest nachos, poorly coated in melted cheese, served with cold pot of chilli on the side. Yum. 1 person had the chicken burger, this was "ok" So sad as this had been a great find, but based on this last visit, we cannot return. Overpriced and poor quality. Just to note - minimum spend on your card has to be £10. That's ok if ordering food, but if you just want to order extra drinks after that, 3 x kids fruit shoots, this becomes pricey to add extra drinks on you don't really want.

No where to park, only one ale on😭

Came here Saturday and was made to feel so welcome. Food and service both excellent. I love the quirky decor and the piano and so nice that dogs are welcome in the spacious beer garden. I'd definitely recommend and return. Particularly liked the steak and ale shepherd's pie.

This was a great find when visiting nearby. Really friendly service. Beer garden is a lovely space. Dog friendly. Great selection of drinks and food was perfect. I'm definitely keen to return and my family are too.

First Time visiting and definitely would not be returning. To start off when arriving we was never seated so we have to find our own table after being told it was round the corner. To then we have to move the table around to fit us on. No table service which was fine happy to go to the bar. When ordering our meals, 2 out of 6 of us when to the bar and ordered our meal first (telling them we was all on a table together and the others would be coming up shortly to add to the ordered) in my head that basic comment sense to send the food out all together? However we did not only just receive our starters first we had our whole meal and then our friends starters came out 30 minutes later. So they wasn’t even close in time as we tried to wait but the food was going cold. While eating our starters our mains came out at the same time, while still in the middle of eating them! Then to top that off we had a black hair in the side of chips. Honestly couldn’t make up how bad the experience was. The food was greasy and most of us didn’t enjoy the meal. We was told a lot of staff didn’t turn up which we totally understand, however if we knew now how the night was going to turn out we would of turned back around!

Lovely country traditional pub . Great food

Have been coming to the Valentine for years but we first tried the new menu last night and wow it was incredible!! Love the difference and variety of it, can tell that the chefs love making the food they do and are so passionate about it. Makes a lovely change from traditional pub grub. Well done the chefs & the Valentine 👏

Went for Mothering Sunday. Special 3 course menu. Absolutely delicious. Excellent service by a cosy fire. Nothing could be faulted.

Small pub with kind and friendly staff, it had a cosy atmosphere and a welcoming fresh beer garden out back. They offered a good selection of food with a great price. It tasted amazing and was presented very well, I would highly recommend this place to grab a bite if you are on the area, very worth it!

Great place for food and to grab a few drinks - we visited a couple of weeks ago and was shocked by how friendly and courteous the staff were. The food was amazing some of the nicest food I've ever had in a pub will definitely be revisiting. I hope the churros become a permanent addition!

Found it by chance by catching a bus and what a surprise. Lovely quaint Inn and fabulous food,good service and pleasant atmosphere and people. Going again tomorrow before we have to go home.

We were staying not far away and looking for somewhere that allows dogs . We booked a table and sat just in front of the bar and our little dog was allowed to sit on the seat beside me on my coat . We shared 4 tapas and then some churros . The portions were large enough and tasty , no complaints at all. Staff were very pleasant too. It is quite small so best to book up . Lots of choices of gin and Madri beer is there too. Glad we visited. The most difficult thing was finding somewhere to park .

Always a warm welcome to this lovely local pub. Had another fantastic meal, only a small menu but as the pub says 'so is their kitchen' but nicely presented and very tasty. The staff are always friendly and helpful and Luke and Becky the owners are the same too always a pleasure to visit.

Love jumping off the bus and popping into Valentines. The staff are always friendly and it has a cosy feel. Being a quaint little pub it can be busy and hard to find a seat but this doesn't matter when you are only popping in for q quick one before the next bus. If you are on the number 12 it's definitely worth jumping off

Called in with my son and his partner on Thursday night, bar was full (quiz night) so we went into the beer garden, where there are 'pods' with their own heating a lighting. Very handy as the light faded and it got quite chilly :) A wonderful quirky pub - with several nooks and alcoves, and groovy décor - plus some good draft beers to choose from. Landlord (Luke?) couldn't have been friendlier, even bringing out a guitar - in tune - for my son to entertain us in our own little space. My son and girlfriend are on holiday from Tasmania, and have said this experience will stay with them for a long time ..... and we will all return for sure when they next visit the UK. Marvellous!
