We are regular visitors to pub and always 5/ 5 whether full meal or just a pint.

An ace pub, brilliant staff, great beer and the landlord is OK too

Really nice pub , allows dogs and children . We didn't eat but it's a lovely comfortable bar , however they did run out of Sauvignon !!! Will come again though

It was our first visit and we really enjoyed the food, we will be back.

Went for Sunday lunch as we've lived nearby for ages but never made it before. Sadly the roast was bland and tasteless, and felt like it had been reheated one too many times. Service was nothing more than perfunctory. Such a shame as the building is beautiful and the decor and furniture gave you the impression it was a step above. The place has a beef roast every Sunday but doesn't have any mustard - read into that what you will.

Easy to book a table online. Very friendly welcome and excellent service.

Always busy on a Sunday and rightly so. Tracy and the team take good care, the roasts are always a good helping, and extra gravy never hurts

Lunch time get together, we were given a list of things things not on the menu about three quarters of the menu missing. I paid over £11.00 for a cheese burger when it eventually arrived it was a burger half the size of the bun a piece of limp lettuce and a slice of tomato.

Most of the lunchtime menu was unavailable and we had to wait ages for our food to be brought out to us

Spoiled by a boisterous party at an adjacent table. The food and service were really good. The steak pie was exceptional I would recommend it.

I don’t go out a lot , but I had the best meal ever. Lovely staff and amenities, highly recommended

Meal out with friends, disappointed that not all items were available and we were not told before we chose. The meals we had were good pub fayre, hot tasty and arrived quickly.

The foods very good, but this pub needs more attention to the overall cleanliness. Further to this reviewer i note the attention to cleanliness has not improved !!

Was in for a wake, but we had to celebrate his life rather than his passing.

As always the most welcoming pub in the area. The staff, and there are many , are always helpful and you can see how hard they work. Well managed, well led and always full of fun.

Took the parents out for a birthday meal. We had reserved a table and we were seated straight away. Staff were really friendly and attentive and our order was taken quickly. Food was delicious and piping hot. Even though it was a busy Sunday afternoon, nothing felt rushed. Will definitely be back.

A really good local, the food is so good I make it a point to go fairly regularly. It's a really good place and atmosphere, especially for a date night. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. It's worth a visit if you're in the area

The Urmston has improved a lot over the years, in particular the food. The pub risks getting too expensive for the area (just my opinion) but this is the brewery, not the place. There are usually offers each day of the week, as well as pub quiz and bingo.

Works Christmas Dinner - 3 course meal (2nd year in a row) All very nice food and well managed service.

If it sold decent cider it would be my local.

Great place. The food has improved massively (not that it was bad) they have just stepped it up a notch. We had a great meal and equal service for a group of 14. The way the pub inside is set up is perfect and great place to drop in for even just a pint. With a fire place and cosy atmosphere.

Had our very first Xmas day dinner out and we was not disappointed, food amazing and plenty of it, staff excellent great service would definitely book again, well done everyone for the work you all put in to make people’s Xmas day a great day

OMG we had the most amazing Christmas 2 course meal on Saturday 23rd December. The food was amazing. The turkey was luscious, veg plentiful and OMG that Yorkie pud was the size of a cliff it was MAHOOSIVE! Most importantly though the service was the best we have experienced anywhere ever! Nice place, Sunday dinner was very good, 12 of the family went and all Enjoyed the food, will go again.

After being let down by another pub for a roast dinner, I called The Urmston last minute and they were able to reserve a table straight away! We were seated in the bar section as we had a dog, which was all fine, there was no table service so we had to order at the bar which was all fine. The roast was quite nice, the beef and the Yorkshire puds were really lovely, the roasties were nicely cooked and the gravy was hearty. All in all, good value for money!

Food is always decent, but it's the service that lets this place down. Drinks and food were ordered pretty quickly, as it wasn't busy at all. Food arrived quicker than it normally does and was absolutely fine, they did however forget one item completely, so it was another 5+ plus minutes before it arrived. After we finished our mains, no one came back to clear the table or ask if we wanted dessert, we had to go back to the bar to order whilst staff were just chatting with each other. The pub still wasn't busy at this stage either. Order was taken and eventually the table was cleared and we had desserts. Again, no one came back, so back to the bar to pay and leave. We still tipped, although in hindsight we probably shouldn't have. We used to come to the urmston quite frequently, but it was always knowing the service was slow, but the food was good. We don't come as often anymore however.

It was a Friday lunch time , not too busy when we arrived. Food was good but that particular day the service was a little poor. When we finished eating, the table wasnt cleared for a long time . They brought us drinks but could hardly fit them on the table . Go there often and its not usually like that .

Just had a simple Sunday lunch, no complaints in a friendly pub.

We were there on Sunday evening 8 of us a family get together, the decor is fantastic, service second to none, you should be very proud of your staff, what can be said about the food it is top quality, the choice the taste Wow, the best Nacho's ever, well done to the chef and kitchen staff, would highly recommend it, and a lovely touch for the father's with the gift,

Fab service, drinks and food are lovely. We tried the loaded fries, bruschetta and whitebait from the starters and sides. Nice simple pub food, staff super friendly with quick service.

First time visiting but was highly delighted ...... never felt rushed even though they had a quiz night on ..... staff took the time to chat and a lovely menu.....we left completely satisfied and will be back

Came in for my sons 18th birthday meal and it was amazing. Service was excellent and food very very tasty. Special thanks to Steve and Mandy for looking after us so well. Would definitely recommend

Nice pub, friendly staff. been a few times now and every time the food was great, it's a little expensive for the portion size but a lovely environment to eat in and have a drink.

Lovely beer garden (even when it's a bit windy, thanks to the heaters at the tables) brilliant staff, very informative and a fantastic array of drought and cask on show. Love the fact they have a seasonal ale that changes throughout the year! Will definitely be coming again and can highly recommend to both locals and passers-by. The food is amazing too!

The food was excellent and reasonable priced and even though it was busy the service was great. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit.

Arrived with my Brother in law and his two sisters for his birthday meal . Absolutely demolished a portion of fish and chips followed by Apple crumble and his two half pints of bitter .He was greeted by the two ladies serving ,he is a regular and loves it here .

We enjoyed the food and the menu options, however, it was very pricey. The childrens play area was old, run down mingn. Unfortunately, the toilets were not far behind, with the toilet seat missing in the men's bathroom..?? It's such a shame because the staff were lovely, approachable and eager to serve.

Only stopped in for a drink before dinner reservations, the food looked great and it seemed exceptionally popular.

Took over an hour to be served when pub was empty. When food arrived, some was ok, others not. Looked like steak pie had been leftovers from the weekend, dry, burnt. I've had hit and miss meals here before, it seems it is still hit and miss.

Only went for drinks but it is a bloody lovely place, great atmosphere and really friendly staff. The food smelt incredible, we were definitely tempted to sack off the dinner we had planned! Will definitely be going back for food so will update! Update: we went back for that roast! The Yorkshire pudding was the size of my head so that's always a good sign, they always have beef but the other meat that day was Gammon, which I had and it was sooooo good! My partner had beef which was a little fatty and chewy but not dry, the roast potatoes were OK but the gravey made it all up, will definitely be going again!

Simply stunning. My wife and I ended up here after trying to figure out where to go for a drink. We couldn't decide so drove around for a bit and then decided we fancied something to eat as well. We don't live far away but have not been here for many years. How lucky we did. The pub is clean, very well kept, and the staff friendly and welcoming. We found a table before ordering drinks and didn't realise that they also do table service so it was a pleasant surprise when a waitress came over and asked if we would like to order drinks before food. We got our drinks and decided to both opt for the same burger meal. Food wasn't rushed but was served within 15 mins? (enough time to almost finish a pint) so it is obviously cooked properly to order and not microwaved to get it out fast. It was amazing, Fantastic quality burgers (they appeared to be hand made not bulk buy processed meat) the salad, sauces, pulled beef additions to the burger were mind blowing, I'm not usually keen on lots of additional bits on a burger but these were very well thought out combinations and every mouthful was fantastic (I hate pulled pork, but the pulled beef on the burger was just right) I honestly can't recommend The Urmston highly enough, we even bumped into some friends who were eating there for the first time and they also raved about the quality of the food. If you haven't been here before you should definitely give it a try, you won't be disappointed. (if you have been here before then you already know that :-) ) We will be back. There should be a 6 star option on Google for places that are well above average as The Urmston definitely deserves it :-)

Good outside space with shelter and good outdoor hwaters

Well - after several disaster meals in the local area we had a brilliant meal here this evening. Excellent food, pleasantly presented. our assistant Mandy took time to listen to dietary needs and the chef made it happen. Thanks

Fish and chips was average and the service was somewhat to be desired. The two staff should have spent less time talking to their friends at the bar and looking at their mobiles, and more time looking after their customers. We will not return!
