Great food, quick service, excellent prices.

I come here regularly for lunch- the £5 meal deal is exceptional value. The food is always fresh and super tasty. The evening menu is excellent also. Love this place

I've eaten and taken away AND gotten delivery from this restaurant multiple times; always been absolutely delicious! You have to grab yourself a menu and go to the counter to order - at least when you're only a party of 2 or 3 - but it's completely fine, they're always right with you. Food is quick and tasty, and whenever there's been a wrong order - only happened twice out of over a dozen times I've been - the staff have been quick to correct their mistakes and bring out the correct items. The waiting staff are very pleasant, no matter what some of these reviews have said, and all the food I've tried has been absolutely delicious! There may not be as much variety on their menus as some fancier places in the city centre, but the prices are extremely good for the quality food you get - I've never been disappointed with my order! 5/5 stars, my to-go place for anything japanese food/sushi related :)

Great new addition to the food choice in Sale. This is now my go to restaurant when eating out or wanting a takeout. Excellent food and value for money.

Me and my wife walked upto Sale, on this windy, cold afternoon, especially to eat at Osechi. When we arrived there was a notice "Closed for short break". No problem, we'll come back. However when I looked inside, there were people inside eating. This included, sitting at the window, what I took to be members of staff, as they had Osechi t shirts on. Non of them acknowledged me or my wife, I would have expected them, to give a hand signal for 5 minutes or something. But they let us walk away, Not the best first experience

The food is not bad, the atmosphere is good, but the service is poor. I ordered Pad Thai from Osechi several times, and they gave me the order incorrectly. Today I ordered take away, but they didn't add sushi to my order, but they were on the bill. I saw the shortage of sushi only at home. They didn't give me a receipt, so I couldn't present them with anything.

Sadly gone downhill a bit - hope it's temporary! Sushi a bit tired and dense, and not inexpensive.

The price is right the food is right I always take my children there.

Really unhappy with the service, i said hello to the waitress and i didnt receive a hello or smile back, literally no manners , no thank you and no goodbye. The tom soup was okay, but if i am parting with my hard earned money i expect good service above anything, or is that too much to ask these days? I wont be returning thank you!

Ordered for delivery, got a platter C which includes 38 pieces of "sushi"... the sushi quality is below average and expensive for what it is, I may as well had gone to Tesco and buy 38 pieces from there for a cheaper price! The rice is bland and barely seasoned, the texture of the rice is all wrong, almost half of the pieces were plain cucumber or crab stick hosomaki's which is cheapest of cheap, the nigiri's were thinly sliced poor quality fish and worse of all, we found a long hair in one of the prawn nigiri's! However the nasi goreng with chicken and Prawn was pretty good and apparently the chicken chow mein was decent as well, also the chicken yaki udon was good enough to feed the kids despite them being picky eaters. I'd say avoid ordering sushi from this place, anyone who thinks the sushi is good here has clearly never been to Japan or has had any decent sushi in the UK.

The price is affordable and hard to find in the UK.

Disappointed by the quality of the sushi, quite a lot of the platter was crabstick, and the rest didn't taste particularly fresh. Main courses such as ramen were better but still lacking in flavour. Perhaps it was a one off, but we have had better Japanese food in other restaurants in Sale and Altrincham.

Quality has been severely reduced, the soups taste watered down and the sashimi is cut badly, with no care and is clearly not fresh.

Food wise for local area sit in dining is cheap, have lunch specials too. Food taste wise is acceptable for price point. I have literally tried half the menu and nothing in particular excels. For the price you can't go too wrong but you will need to adjust your expectations accordingly to price. Go at lunch, maybe skip dinner

Asian cuisine found in Manchester Sale. It is a restaurant that was recommended to us when we visited relatives and that we liked very much. There is a lot of variety, everything you want from soup to sushi. You can see every meal being made in the open kitchen. The employees are friendly and sincere. it was nice

I recently visited Osechi Japanese and Asian Food Restaurant in Sale with a group that included four adults and four children, and unfortunately, our experience was notably disappointing. Upon entering, the initial interaction with the staff set a negative tone; the waiter approached us without a greeting, merely asking for our party size. The lack of courtesy continued as we were given only three menus, and were left to sit at an uncleared table. Such an oversight in hospitality basics can be off-putting. The service didn’t improve with our order. When requesting tap water after being provided with bottled water, the server's response was confrontational. She insisted that we should have specified our preference beforehand, responding to our confusion with “you should have known,” which felt unnecessarily contentious. Further exacerbating the situation, when our dissatisfaction became apparent, the server brusquely suggested, "You can take your money and leave if you want," a comment that was both shocking and unwelcome. This remark escalated tensions further when my friend attempted to order tap water for himself after witnessing the initial exchange. The server's abrupt demeanor prompted an argument that disrupted our visit. Feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable, we decided to take our meals as takeaway. Even then, the frustration of the interaction overshadowed our desire to enjoy the food we had already paid for. Overall, the experience at Osechi Japanese and Asian Food Restaurant was far from the welcoming, enjoyable dining outing one would expect. The staff's handling of basic requests and customer interaction was not only unprofessional but also inhospitable. It's disheartening when a meal out, especially with children, turns into a stressful ordeal. I hope this feedback serves as a constructive critique for the restaurant to improve its service quality and customer experience.

This is a great place. Excellent food, service and quality of food. Quick service but still quality. Woukd recommended if you never tried it. I have been a few times at lunch when I the office and it's great. Reasonable prices too. And much better than a kabab or a burger.

I had the grilled sea bass with satay sauce and can highly recommend, the restaurant was busy as usual but service was friendly. Food is amazing. £27 for two people including an alcoholic drink is also brilliant value just now.

Oily salty broth, frozen-tasting dumplings, blasé service and a lack of attention to detail. My friend ordered the ramen soup with mixed fish and she couldn't even finish it. It was obvious the fish was not fresh evidenced by the overwhelming fishy smell permeating from her bowl. She pulled out the few clumps of fish she was served and the salmon in particular caused her particular offence due to its firm and chewy texture. I don't recommend this place.

Service was very poor. Starter and mains served together so I felt rushed. Had stomach ache and diarrhea same evening. My friend with a speech disability called in the next day to point out the error in their service and poor delivery of food only to be told by the lady that it was my friends fault she ordered spicy food. I also rang up to speak to the manager myself that evening or have the contact details for complaint and was told they were not allowed to give out contact details and the phone was put down on me. I am now considering putting in a written complaint to trading standards due to their lack of care and consideration towards the public.

I am local resident so have been there a couple years of times .Love their dishes especially the variety they offer.Their chicken Ramen soup and veg/chiken gyoza are yummy.My son loves them.Overall value for money.Highly recommend☺️

I always get the Tofu Tom yum soup (spicy) and it always hits, it is absolutely a 10/10. lots of veggies and spicy soup base, perfect especially when your Ill!!! The best Japanese place, the sushi is also some of the nicest I’ve had. The food Is lovely whether you eat in or take out!

We come here several times per week as a family and we absolutely love it! The menu is wide, everything is nice and affordable and it is all delicious. Also the team is amazing.

Their 'lunchbox' choices and 'mix&match' fried noodles are the best bargain you can find anywhere around Sale. I love their nasi goreng (Indonesian or Malaysian fried rice) and the available choice of pad thai sauce for the 'mix&match' plate is another appeal for me. Their sushi choices, although limited, are very good as well, with the best value for money you can ever find around Greater Manchester. All their food items are nice, but the portions are slightly small, and have actually decreased in volume, throughout the course of the past two years (since it moved to its current location). Still, with the good prices, it has great value for money, and is seen as a bargain, with some rather authentic Asian dishes.

Says that opening times are until 10.00 Saturday's just gone at 4.15 and they are closed. Staff dining. Fair enough but put this on your opening times. Won't come here again.

The few times I’ve visited the food and service have been great. We’ve had some noodle dishes, bentos and some starters, they’ve all tasted so good and their prices are very reasonable.

The food was so flavourful- I’m extremely picky when it comes to eating out I am rarely impressed by restaurant food but the Osechi team smashed it, The Tom Yum Soup was the perfect balance of spicy and savoury the vegetables were fresh and the broth was delicious.

I had an unhappy experience in a restaurant today. A total of 11 of us went to this restaurant for lunch today. We waited for three tables, and then we lined up to order. When I ordered, the cashier asked me where to sit. I told her about table 1. The cashier immediately went to clean table 1, but I saw a lot of people waiting in line behind me, so I compared it with my friend. We changed from three tables to two. Because I want more customers can enjoy lunch. When the cashier came back after cleaning, I told her "I'll take table 2." Then the cashier started to lose his temper and say “why did you change table 2, I'm so busy. I cleaned table 1 already. After that the cashier haven’t placed my order helplessly. She asked the people behind me to come and place the order. After that, I waited for her for five minutes and asked her what she wanted. , she told me: "I don't do your business." I thought she was so unreasonable and rude. In fact, we were not changing the table, just release one more table for coming customs , and she kept losing his temper. I will not come to this restaurant again

Ordered delivery as I was craving sushi. . . . God it was awful (and 1 hour late) If you want gluey rice and almost no fish then this is the place for you. This place is just run for profit. When will these places realise that people don’t return for sh&@ food. Fish cuts weren’t loin or belly. But the chewy centre. I also ordered a Pad Thai which was so bad I threw it out. If they used a jar of sauce it would have been better. Honestly, please eat the dirt at the local park. It will taste better.

Sorry but this place is a joke. I swore id never go again but i gave it some time and was just as dissapointed as i was the last time. The portion of fried rice was pathetic. The tub was nowhere near filled like it is when you get a chinese takeaway. This time i ordered chicken teriyaki noodles which was lacking flavour big time like they dont wanna part with too much sauce. To be fair the box was packed but it was pretty much all noodle, barely any chicken and very few veg. My partners katsu chicken was dissapointing too and so was my sons nasi goreng. All lacking flavour, meat and veg. I dont normally go to the effort of writing reviews but these ppl need to sort it out. Also the carrot tasted like it came out the bin from last week. The staff are miserable and look like their faces will crack if they smiled.

We ordered sushi roll delievery yesterday. Basically it was not that bad. But white fish roll was not fresh and it had a bit bad smell. I believe they should check quality of fish daily.

Worst food I’ve ever ordered, seriously. The ramen noodle soup is half oil and the noodles and dumplings are soggy. The miso soup is bombarded with bean sprouts and celery and the salmon teriyaki is overloaded with red and green peppers and bean sprouts and they put bbq sauce not teriyaki. This is what happens when Chinese people try to run a Japanese restaurant. They try to make it like Chinese food so badly I wouldn’t be surprised if there were bars inside the food. They over do it with MSG and the lady who works there is the rudest employee I have ever met, not surprised though. Absolutely outrageous, horrendous food and I hope Gordon Ramsey heads there and shuts down their business.

Great place to have a dinner with family. Good part is that it's open till 10 pm when many other eateries are closed. Food is good and service quite fast. Very polite staff and welcoming.

No point in booking, not sure why it is offered as there are no reserved tables. Service is serious, not that friendly but that's fine as the food is good and well priced. Be warned you order as you go, what ever food you order will come at same time.

I've only eaten in house once, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Delivery from their old address saved me from the syndrome of unhealthy takeaways during lockdown! Their food is fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. The staff are polite and friendly - and very helpful for people with arthritis, like myself, who need appropriate seating and can't use chopsticks anymore! I was delighted that the closure of the old address only meant that they were moving premises - I would have been very sad if they'd gone.

I would rate it 5 star however the cleanliness. I went there about six weeks prior to my second visit which was this week. Somehow ended sitting same place near the window. There were the same cobweb and dead fly that I saw on my first visit. So makes me wonder what the state of the food preparation area is. Food is 10/10.

Called to enquire about buying a gift voucher for their restaurant and they really rudely put the phone down on me mid call.

We had a surprise birthday meal at Osechi. The staff were SO accommodating. We had a cake to bring through at the end and they were so happy to serve it, with candles and the "Happy Birthday" over the speaker system. The food was, as usual, excellent. We had gyoza, spring rolls, sushi platters, pad Thai, katsu curry and nasi goreng - all so so tasty. The prices are excellent too. Brilliant value for money, friendly and helpful staff, fast service and a buzzing atmosphere. 100% get yourself to Osechi!!

The katsu curry was really poor. Less than a breast of chicken, which was dry, and the katsu sauce was very bland

Surprised how terrible this place is ! Sashimi quality inedible and when I complained I was told it it was high quality and I didn’t know what I was talking about :-) Pad Thai was bland and pearl milk tea watery and just plain yuk. Not often I leave negative reviews but this place deserves it . Awful service and awful food.

Always great food, good value, and very quick! Portion sizes are very generous (I wish the sushi was a bit smaller as the hosomaki rolls have increased in size and are now a bit hard to eat!) It's a fantastic addition to Sale!

Both the sushi and other hot dishes are delicious and well priced. Also got some bubble tea from here and it was very nice :)

This place use to be good with good customer service, but it seems to of gone down hill. The attitude stinks and no customer service skills as was spoken to very rudely won't be back, and al b sure to tell me friends and family.
