Vulgar place, staff mingin, food rank

Manager admitted he charged me £4.50 more than he should by “accident” when I live across the road. Took over 30 minutes to dispute and give the refund money to a local homeless man

DO NOT GO TO THIS TAKEAWAY!!! First time I went, yes I was drunk and they charged me £12.00 for plain sausage and chips. Unacceptable! Second time I was with a friend, we both ordered sausage chips and curry sauce. £14 total however we never got curry sauce and missing one sausage. When challenged person serving us told us to f*** off otherwise they would call the police! Easier and cheaper to order McDonald’s on Uber eats! AVOID AVOID AVOID!! Taking advantage of those who just out having a good time!! Not what it used to be!!

This is not the same place, since changes in ownership the quality of the service and quality of food is poor. The prices have increased, it’s not the ideal place to grab food at the end of the night.

Used to love their margarita pizza but now it tastes like curry. It’s so bad.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! picture the scene, a mild february evening after the best night of my life, i was going to go for cheesy chips like i always do. however, i thought i need to stop being so boring and venture out of my comfort zone a bit. what better way to kick this off, than with some delicious crispy chicken nuggets?? .... or so i thought.... so, i ordered the chicken nuggets - at a decent price, and eagerly awaited my feast. from the first bite if you can even call it a bite (more like a dog ripping meat off a bone), i could tell that something wasn't right... tough, tasteless, rigid. it you like chewing on cardboard as a snack, then this is for you. but it wasn't my cup of tea. i have never had a worse chicken nugget experience in my life and left traumatised and genuinely fearing for my life. should have just had the cheesy chips, but i doubt these would have been any better. i honestly struggle to wrap my head around how someone can mess chicken nuggets up this badly, and still sell them as "chicken nuggets". DAYLIGHT ROBBERY!!!!! i can't believe i fell for this so easily and i am honestly ashamed, they better watch their backs!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS i would not wish this experience on my worst enemy. my local chip shop would never do this to me. you have been warned.

I went there in the early hrs of the 8th Feb, ordered a chicken kebab. Was given just the kebab meat and 3 days later my stomach is still killing me, vomiting and diarrhea. Will never buy anything from this shop again.

Me and partner got lam wraps they were very tasty but they should atleast put salad in it was just lamb donner chilly sauce in a wrap

Chips were not good and the pizza is greasy.

Just went there yesterday for large portion of chips with curry sos and they charg me 5 pounds for it, and portion was not really big. Never again.

Awful food, terrible hygiene conditions and rude staff. This is perhaps the worst venue in Birmingham, and how it’s still operating is astounding!

Not really a review of the food as it did look amazing. However we wanted to try The Urban Kitchen on Sunday, found a table and went to order food. Was told there was a 50' wait on food orders - whoa. Could be an issue with staff calling in sick due to the nice wether the day prior, or could be normal for this place. In any event, we might go back and try in the near future hoping the issue is resolved so we can try the good looking food.

We asked the staff for a food hygiene rating and was laughed at and told "it's in the post". I did, however, buy a burger and chips and it tasted nice. The chips tasted just like proper chip shop chips. I enjoyed it but if I am ill tommorow I will modify this review lol

Worst chicken I’ve ever eaten in my life. Must’ve been froed multiple times couldn’t even bite through it. Gave me an extra piece must’ve been joking. Terrible. Wouldn’t recommend to my dog.

We visited this place for some chips and when we went to pay via card (£2.80) they said their card machine wasn’t working. I then tried again at which point they inputted £4.80 in to the machine not £2.80 which we highlighted. We were then told the card machine wasn’t working again so we paid cash. Turns out their card machine was working and we have been scammed for £4.80 Please be careful buying food here because I am sure this happens on a regular basis…….not to be trusted - always pay by cash.

Dirty seleem who runs it is a filthy fraud and a scammer stay clear of him the dirty runt and the food he serves is gross very dissipointed by my sons behavoiur makung this restraughnt possible and he looks like a mouse

A group of us where working nearby ad as we where self catering we decided to eat out each night. The food wasn't quality and looked more like left overs from the day before. For the food that we received was poor quality but we where charged high end prices. The guy at the till spoke down to us as if we where stupid, when we asked a question. While waiting for our food we did observe that the tables where dirty, overflowing bins by the till, food on the floor and the counters looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in some time. After our first time experience here we never came back.

I always drop in here after a night out, this time however was awful. The kebab I ordered looked a funny colour and the next morning I had diarrhoea and sickness. I assumed this was just a result of the evening before but the symptoms persisted to three days. It turns out I had food poising after a quick google it became clear I contracted it from here as they have a 0 food hygiene rating. Eat here at your own risk.

I visited here for dinner instead of getting 50 percent discount when eating at work. Ordered a chicken & mushroom pie with chips and a can of coke.

Experience was not pleasant. Staff recommended the most pricey meals. Did not taste good or fresh. Said they were closing but remained open for 1hr 15mins

Not bad although hawaiian pizza had a handful of pineapple on it, no chicken niblets even though I ordered and 20 mins later I asked where order was and they said there were no chicken niblets. Ok prices. Handy taxis outside

I ordered kebab en naan I was not informed that he did not just put some kebab potatoes in my box, I asked for my bread and he offered me a bread, but I paid extra, asked for salad and gave me 3 grams , I asked for sweet chilli and mayonnaise was wrong and put hot chilli! I will never come back again

First impression is that this place doesn't look anything special. Typical Takeaway with limited seating inside. We called at lunch time and everything on the menu was only £3.50! The service was a little slow but everything was cooked fresh to order. Friendly and helpful staff. Good portions and great value if you visit at lunch time!

This place has a zero food hygiene rating. I prefer to eat somewhere else. I think they rely on drunk people late at night not noticing.

I visited urban kitchen today with my brother and partner who both are not fussy with food. I asked for non halal food due to religious reasons and was questioned. I am giving a high rating as the chap who told me he was the owner of the business looked at his member of staff and said it’s her religion and I felt like he respected me. I had a pukka pie which was lovely, and my fiancé and brother ate other food which they both loved. All in all a good experience with some fantastic support.

Following a recommendation from someone who had just eaten at the establishment i placed a basic order for a Pie and Chips, at approximately 11:15pm this evening (09/05/2019), to takeaway. Upon opening my order when i got on the bus i found that my pie was undercooked, (to the extent the base was still raw). And the chips were not of great quality either with many of them also overcooked or green. A waste of £4.50 on this occasion. Food not served to an acceptable standard. Order with Caution, as i wont be again.

La cocina estaba sucia, la zona de estar estaba llena de basura donde el personal no se había molestado en limpiar, el personal era grosero y estaba completamente dispuesto a recibir grandes pagos sin contacto de personas sin verificar sus pedidos, y en general la presentación de la comida fue como tropezar con un montón de heces de perros en un parque local. ¿Quién en este día y edad tiene un índice de higiene de alimentos de 1 estrella? ¡Chocante!

Me and my friend went to urban kitchen last night, came home and threw up all the food.... don’t go it’s not worth the money just so you can throw it up when you get home... kitchen is not clean and the staff are rude

Food is atrocious, cleanliness is awful, customer service non existent, look elsewhere. There are other food outlets nearby.

Every single time we order it arrives either cold, or the wrong items.. or both! It’s a shame as the food is good. It’s just unfortunate you never get to eat what you order.

Poor quality food across the board. Disinterested staff and grubby facilities. Given it several chances as it is very local. Won’t go again. I know it is open long hours and late but should be much better than this, even for late night drinkers😟.

Stopped off for a quick bite and regretted it! Disgusting venue, filthy room, food and grime up the walls no effort to clean it. Chips were microwaved, one of the guys working there was coughing all over the salad. Absolutely rank.

Generally busy on the weekends, with the attendant food debris and packaging - but to an unacceptable degree. No staff bother to come around the counter and clear tables AT ALL.

Friendly staff, great food and genuinely caring. Whilst I was eating my fish and chips a homeless guy came in asking the price of different items. The owner asked him how much he had and what he wanted. He gave him a meal for £1. A genuine act of kindness!

Don’t be fooled by your drunk cravings for food after a night out on hurst street, every time after eating there me and my friends have all suffered with bad stomachs which have lasted for days. The food may taste nice when you’re drunk but I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole when sober.
