The Undergrad in Exeter

Wow!!!! I don’t know what I was expecting but probably the best cup of coffee I have had. And reasonably priced. I paid £3.60 for a latte to go. And it was so good. The food inside looked amazing, and with its contemporary design would make for a great meeting place.

As the name suggests, it’s got a great student vibe and was very busy when we visited today. The visit today wasn’t great but I think that may simply be because we are not students and expected more. We ordered and when the first breakfast arrived, it was missing eggs. The guy didn’t hear us order them which is fine, it was noisy and it can happen. He asked my wife to keep her breakfast on the table and the eggs would be right out. He asked us to pay for the eggs as they were missed. Again that is fair but perhaps not as your food is on the table. The second breakfast arrived straight after and we sat there just watching the food get cold waiting for eggs. 10 minutes passed and we had to chase, they arrived just after but by this point everything was cold and it ruined our experience. The staff were not rude but they barely engaged. The breakfast is about the same cost as the Ivy / Cote and there was not comparison between the price and service although they are dog friendly and the Ivy and Cote not inside. This may be a one off but most of the staff seemed inexperienced and not well trained and as such, this is likely to happen again although by no means intentionally.

Food & drink tasty. Staff girl fished for bogey, & then with no hand washing, made smoothies & handled cutlery. Unsanitary.

pancakes waren lauw en alles was overgoten met maple syrup….proefde geen banaan, blauwe bessen, aardbeien of pancakes meer…alles smaakte naar maple syrup…personeel toonde geen enkele interesse of alles naar wens was en/of het gesmaakt had…teleurstellend…kom hier niet meer!

Amazing place, so glad we discovered it off the main drag in Exeter, lovely service, superb food and beverages. Clean and tidy, can’t fault it

Looking for some Brunch and discovered this little gem of a place by the Bus Station. Great selection of food, good value prices. We had Eggs Royale and Mushrooms & Poached Eggs on Toast. Fast service and the food was of a high quality. Staff always smile and nothing is too much trouble. Great eatery at any time of the day.

Busy but fast. Good coffee, tasty cakes, nice staff. It's opposite to coach stop so worth of it to pop in while waiting for bus.

American Pancakes with Maple syrup - Great , poached eggs and bacon - reasonable but the sourdough toasted bread was hard to cut and chew. All in all, nice place, flat white was well made and presented.

Minutes from the bus station, with shady outdoor seating and friendly staff. Perfect for a coffee and cake or light bite. Wish they would get the broom out more often as is littered with cigarette butts outside and although there are no smoking signs they aren't enforced.

Brilliant staff serving excellent spinach/ mushroom sandwich with poached egg, and a first class Acai bowl - very good value for money. Cappucino and lattes up to spec from 0800 providing a upbeat start to the day:). Definitely recommended.
