The Two Rivers at Chepstow in Monmouthshire

We decided to give Two Rivers another try after reading several good reviews. My husband had steak and ale pie with chips and I had lasagne and garlic bread. Both were serviced hot by Carl who was very professional, friendly. The ambience was comfortable, clean and welcoming. We used a 30% off voucher which made the visit even more affordable. We will be returning to try the Sunday lunch soon. We would highly recommend. Thanks to Carl the relief manager and the Team.

We stayed for two nights on the 24th January. Room was very clean and beautifully decorated. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant it was tasty well worth the money (chicken mushroom pie). Breakfast is worth the money compliments to the chef. We will definitely stay again.R&A Goodwin

Amazing service, friendly staff and lovely food!

Regan was our server and he was very polite and friendly. He coped well under pressure ( it was a large booking ) and even asked chef to prepare gammon for me , which wasn't on the Sunday menu. Lovely food and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Me and my partner had booked a table on the 23/01/25, we arrived at 3pm and had the pick of the dining area.....great stuff! Debbie was our waitress and she was great, easy to order with and was happy to check that both myself and my partner was happy with the food. Excellent service Debbie. This is the second time we've been and we'll be back. Food was tasty also.

We came out for a family meal with relatives visiting and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Debbie was our server and made us so comfortable and relaxed. Thank you.

We arrived on time for our 6pm booking. We waited about 10 mins before someone took us to our table. I could only see 1 member of staff who was trying to do everything, serve drinks, show people to their tables, etc. We sat at the table for a good 10 mins before we were given a menu. It was probable another 10 mins before our order was taken. When the drinks and food arrived it was fine. Obviously very popular time but more staff needed.

In terms of staffing this was the best welcome and service we’ve ever received at The Two Rivers. Regan, our main waiter was ready straight away with a cheery greeting to take our drinks order even before we had sat down! His friendly, cheery manner continued when we were ready to order our meals. Two of our party chose the Sunday roast option & said it was fine. One had the veggie option and said the spinach tart was tasty. I chose Hunter’s chicken but sad to say the thin chicken breast was extremely dry and difficult to chew so I wouldn’t recommend that one! The chips and salad were delicious though. The 30% reduction on main courses was a happy bonus!

Always a good pub, food is good although kebabs have gotten smallet everytime I've been but it's still good! Sometimes have deals like 30% off food which is good. Relaxed atmosphere always busy, but generally you can get a table without booking

Amazing place to stay, awesome friendly staff, food is also amazing.

Stayed overnight and experience was great. Check in very simple, great communication prior to arriving and cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in I think! Spotless. Ample free parking also a big bonus.

Overall, the service, speed of service, standard of the meal was far better than the afew years ago. I would happily recommend a visit to anyone considering, on the basis of our meals today.

Had a meal while passing through. It was a quiet mid week and around 5pm Both really enjoyed our food (bacon & cheese burger was lush) All the staff were nice and the service was quick. Will eat here again.

From the moment walked in made to feel extremely welcome and. Nothing was too much hassle. Makes such a refreshing change to some of the other chains! The manageress was superb. Ran the place like a military operation bit at the same time was as willing to get stuck in as the other staff. Highly recommend this for a visit. You will not be disappointed!!

Me and my family visits this place regularly as we always feel welcomed and looked after. Excellent skills of customer service.

Food was good but service was awful. Waitresses weren't interested in taking an order, you had to visit the bar, totally lazy and none caring. This was the same for all customers.

I have stayed in the hotel and eaten in the pub a number of times. The staff are friendly, very helpful and hard working they always go the extra mile to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. Rooms are very clean and well maintained, decent showers in all the rooms I've stayed in. Ample car parking. What's not to like...

Friendly staff and excellent food

Beautiful food had the trio of meats Sunday lunch. We called in on an off chance as my son was playing football across the road. Chantelle greeted us with a smile and went above and beyond to squeeze us in even though you could see they were extremely busy. Highly recommended and again thank you Chantelle for your service. 5 stars all round ⭐️⭐️

An easy to find location with ample parking, easy checking in to the hotel and table booked for a meal. The service provided by the staff was exceptional, the food was welcomed after a three hour drive, this was hot and extremely delicious. For a first experience of this hotel, restaurant and bar, they have certainly won me over and I look forward to visiting again.

We had a fantastic evening at two rivers. The food was excellent, as was the service. Big thanks to our lovely waitress Debbie for looking after us and Declan in the kitchen for the food.

Me and my partner came last night for a wonderful meal at the two rivers and we will definitely be returning to this lovely spot the food and the drinks were wonderful and we couldn’t of asked for better service from this lovely young lad, Sandro looking forward to enjoying more meals at this pub. 😌😌

Immaculate food served that compares well With the cost. Had a lovely server named Sandro who was delightful to us and made sure everything was perfect for our evening meal.

An absolutely amazing place! Went there not too long ago and I can honestly say it’s probably one of the best pubs I have ever been to. This one server in particular made my experience there just that much better, I believe his name was Sandro. He was so sweet and was very fast with my order! I would honestly come back just for him 😆 Overall, an amazing pub, I will be coming back!!!!

Popped in for a coffee during a wet dog walk, made to feel very welcome by Kelly. Had a lovely warming coffee with biscuit & treats on hand for our dog with fresh water available for him. Definitely return.

Had hallumi fries to start and a steak was perfectly cooked. Staff were really well spoken and polite, well managed place. Defiently come again. May also like to add that food service was quick for a busy day.

Always enjoy coming here. The rooms are beds are fantastic as well as the food. The lovely Kelly checked us all in (group of 5) and was our host for our evening meal which she booked too. She's great and has a brilliant sense of humour too!

10/10 for serving food all day. We were 1/2 an hour drive away at Wootton Under Edge. This was the closest place we could find still serving food at 3.15pm. 7 of us for a late lunch…. We had fish and chips, steak pie & sea bass. All perfect. Staff friendly and very good. Only reason didn’t give atmosphere a 5 was because such a large establishment rather than quaint old pub…. But hey ho… this allowed them to still be serving food at that time of day. Thankyou!

Delicious food, friendly staff, I didnt get any names but the person behind the bar was amazingly friendly & chatty, and the male waiter was fantastic too! my 8 year old stated what we all thought "we have to come back again"

Disgraceful service. Booked for a Christmas party of 20, emailed in our pre-orders, got no response so telephoned and spoke to a female member of staff who said they hadn't received it, emailed again whilst on the phone she said it arrived and would print it off and 'put it in the book'. On the night and just 20 minutes before everyone was due to leave they rang to say they had problems with their fryers and couldn't produce certain items, asked which items from our pre-order they couldn't do they denied all knowledge of having received it. Then ensued a very heated discussion about deposits which emphasized they had no clue as to what was going on at all, denial of actual staff members even working there and us having to find somewhere else to go with such a large party and 20 minutes notice. None of us will revisit this place and I can only recommend they sort themselves out.

I didn’t know the child so I have covered the face for privacy purposes. But it was so lovely to overlook this tonight at the bar. Not only has my service been fantastic by Robert, Regan and angel but I seen how amazing the bar staff was with the younger kids. Amazing pub I will be retiring!

Stayed here for 2nights and ate in the very well restaurant ,all staff very friendly and efficient especially Regan on Friday night during a very busy evening after horseracing. Fab food and service. Would definitely visit again.

The staff here go the extra mile and then some. Courteous, friendly, helpful and generally excellent. Particularly Angel who went well beyond the call of duty. Atmosphere welcoming due to the staff. Food good. You get what it says on the tin. Would definitely come again.

We are totally disappointed with the whole experience of presentation and service received today Haven’t been to the two rivers for sometime and to be honest will not be rushing back Food delivered and no offer of condiment to go with the meal Had to get up and get some ourselves Customers came in a total of 4 parties and was left to stand there waiting for service as staff just walked by It took one customer to ask for service as he had booked a table for staff to react Two parties gave up and walked out The amount of staff just walking in and out of the kitchen whilst there was three males stood in workmen clothes talking in the kitchen area Really not impressed with the service and hygiene standards

Really enjoyed our breakfast experience. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only negative was the coffee machine. Extremely slow to dispense drinks which resulted in a queue. Perhaps a second machine would expedite this.

Food was lovely and the table service was really good. Only thing that was quite slow was the service at the bar cause they only had one member of staff serving. Would defo go back
