The Two Rivers at Chepstow in Monmouthshire

We stayed over for two nights and on the first evening we ate in the bar. Staff, food good and the room, though not flashy was great…large, well designed and lovely and clean

Been here a few times over the course of a few years and every time the food is pretty good but the service is awful, waiting for ages. Albeit this time I had money taken off and a dish given to me on the restaurant because it never arrived, it still left me quite frustrated. They just need more staff, poor waitress was pretty much on her own handling a multitude of tables. We went as a family 25/04/2025 and I don't think we'll be going again for quite some time, shame really because the food is alright.

We have had the most wonderful experience at The Two Rivers Chepstow regularly. We often book in advance our Sunday dinners and cannot fault the quality of food and service experience….. We are from England! But travel across the old Severn bridge regularly to socialise in the Chepstow area and eat. Cannot recommend The Two Rivers highly enough. Congratulations to the staff…

Great pub, happy and friendly staff, service was quick and helpful from Regan and food was lovely! We were offered table service which was nice to see in local pubs again! The pub was tidy and well presented with lovely clean toilets! We will most certainly be returning in the future

Visited the Two Rivers lunchtime today for a Sunday Roast. My wife and I were very pleased with our meal choices and the food was well prepared and hot delivered to the table. Our waitress was Angel and she did an excellent job looking after us and many other customers, well done and thank you for making this special for us.

The Two Rivers is a gem! The cosy country pub decor creates such a welcoming atmosphere. I especially loved the thoughtful separate dog section – a brilliant idea for both dog lovers and those who prefer a dog-free dining experience. Regan provided fantastic service, making the visit even more enjoyable. The lamb was cooked to perfection which leads on to the fact this isn't your average Marston's; it's a signature pub, and the warm, inviting ambiance combined with top-notch service truly shines. Huge thanks to the team for the warm welcome. My pup and I had a wonderful time, and we'll definitely be back!

It's a great place to stay. Very clean, super comfy bed and soft linen. Everything works and the Two Rivers is a great palce for food and drinks - although beer is pricey.

Food was good, Services was fantastic, Angel was polite, well mannered and was great with my allergy.

We had the most amazing customer service from Angle tonight! I have recently moved from Northampton to the area and have been looking for a local friendly place with good food- and this was it . My partners child had an amazing experience and has asked to go back already. The food by Jon was delicious 😋 . Thank you for a great night , we will be back again soon.

Excellent experience, we initially had a problem with key cards not working, sorted very quickly with new batteries in door unit, food was absolutely divine, staff were brilliant,friendly chatty, great place to stay recommend 100%

Regan was absolutely incredible! This restaurant was just what we needed after a long travel day. We loved staying at the inn across the street. From the moment we walked in, Regan was warming and welcoming. Everyone was so patient with our kids & we wish we could go back again soon! Such a gem in Wales! So glad we made time to stop here on our trip through the UK.

Hunter's chicken schnitzel was excellent great to have salad and fries. Lamb duo was tasty and nice choice of vegetables.

Family friendly and a good selection on the kids menu. Our server Regan was attentive and our order arrived quickly, always a bonus with a hungry 5 year old!

Food was good but nothing special. Two very small slices of lamb and a tiny mini pie with some veg for £20! The gravy was delicious though.

Service was slow and got progressively worse as it got busier with people visibly waiting for food. I ordered a mix grill medium rare but when it arrived it was more well done and tough to eat. The staff were pleasant and doing their best but seemed very disorganised.

Disappointing. We came here over 3 yrs ago and thought we would give it another go. The first time round wasn't great and this has sealed the deal - we won't be coming again. Uncooked food and food she didnt order on my wife's plate, which had to be returned. Terrible customer service and over 40 mins wait for a bowl of ice cream after the mains. No apologies for the wait, no empathy or personality from the waitress. If I could give a minus star review I would have. What a disappointment Chepstow.

Food and drinks were fine but we were asked to move to bar area as one of our party brought their dog. High seating and high seats/stools in bar not very comfortable.

We have passed so many times when we stay at Greenways farm in drybrook . So we thought we would book in as it was our wedding anniversary! Well what can I say , the atmosphere and the food was amazing, and to top it off our waitress Kelly was so helpful and friendly and amazing. Defo going back ❤️

Nice place, aesthetically pleasing and a very contemporary design but looking quaint with it. Good atmosphere and other customers were friendly towards us and each other. Service could’ve been faster but it was a Saturday night so it’s understandable . Wouldn’t hesitate to go back if we’re in the area again

Food was good but service was awful. Waitresses weren't interested in taking an order, you had to visit the bar, totally lazy and none caring. This was the same for all customers.

Such a lovely experience! Had a table for 2 by the window and staff were warm, welcoming and more than happy to ease. We both ate the lamb rump with mini lamb pie. Lamb rump Cooked to perfection; lamb pue had a lovely taste of suet, the veg was all cooked properly - for us - carrots, small roast like potatoes, peas, sugar snap peas with a little lambs lettuce to decorate. Definately back for more ❤️

Great service & food, a great night for us

We were pleasantly surprised by this Martson's pub restaurant. We enjoy the Marston's pub menu so went along to try. It is an airy, open place with enough parking. The venue is smart and more nicely designed than some other Marston's pubs in our S Wales area. The team were helpful and attentive. Our food was freshly cooked and very enjoyable. Granted, this is not high end fare, but it was really good. We had fish and chips and scampi and chips (not an adventurous day). Lovely. We shall be back. The atmosphere was not easy to judge because it was very quiet when we were there.

We ordered sirloins and must admit the steak was not up to expectation. The service was excellent and so was the set up of the restaurant and the atmosphere. I would love to try the breakfast. There was also a party of patrons who stood around our table and chatted for the entire duration of our lunch ( no exaggeration) no fault to the restaurant..just thought id mention

Great service, friendly. Most things were on time. However, I would say that the red onion gravy & veg on the veg sausages & mash lite bite weren't at the usual standard & that its a shame you no longer offer calamari as a starter as both my husband & son love i!! (son is 9 with autism & adhd, so chose the chicken tenders with BBQ sauce instead, but the BBQ sauce was way too spicy - shame)

I've eaten here several times and the food, at best, has been average. However, the meal I had yesterday was delicious. It was a gluten free haloumi and pepper kebab and it was very tasty. The gluten free chocolate bomb was also scrummy! The service was very good and the overall experience was positive.

Regan was class, give him his £2!!! Should get pay rise. Very hard working young man. Should be a manager one day, very soft hands. Food was very mid tho, not the best. Come for Regan, not for the food.

Came in last week to meet a friend. Had a really good experience. I was served by one of the new duty managers. He was very polite, assisted me to a table to have food and was really approachable and was happy to answer any questions. The food was lovely and very filling, didn't have room for dessert. Will definitely come back!

We had a lovely meal and were served by Kelly who was delightful. I had the chicken & chorizo kebab. My husband had the sea bass. Highly recommended.

Food was amazing. Just a pity that the order got a bit mixed up. Having said that, the staff did their very best to correct all errors and we left feeling well looked after. Thanks to those in the kitchen and serving for doing everything to keep us happy. If we're in the area again we shall pop in. Definitely recommended.

Debbie was our server today and she was so lovely, helpful when weren’t sure what to order and very efficient bubbly and very welcoming. When we’ve been in the past sometimes it’s takes a while for us to be acknowledged when we arrive but Debbie was straight with us and very friendly.
