Costa Coffee in Monmouthshire

Did not had they’re seasonal selection, so instead went for caramel latte and in the end they gave me just normal latte.Its just a coffee and still couldn’t get what I want.Disappointed

I ordered 2 oat lattes this morning and when I arrived at work, one of them did not have the coffee shot. So it was just warm oat milk. I'm trying to call to get this sorted out and I get an automated message saying.... Get in touch on socials.... Pretty poor all round. Update: I drove back the following morning and staff couldn't help enough. I got replacements and lots of apologies. My co-worker was proper chuffed with their brew. Thank you for making this right Costa staff.

Don't go by the times on google. By the looks they are wrong. Saturday it's say 6am open. I arrived at the building at 6:40 but it was closed? Also outside was a shit tip, bins were over flowing and rubbish over the road.

I am changing from my previous 5 star review. This coffee shop as gone downhill very fast recently. I used to get an excellent flat white, there seems to be an awful lot of new staff now, i like a flat white and in my opinion the Baristas do not have the skills to make one that should be served. The atmosphere is ok but it’s just not the same place.

Nicely busy, but with plenty of room. Great service and very cheerful and friendly staff. The service was quick and very well organised, and my drink, the usual skinny latte, was very nice. Decided to push the boat out and have a lemon curd muffin. It was fresh, very tasty, with lots of lemon curd inside - very nice. This is a great little roadside Costa - I usually used them drive thru but decided to take 20 minutes and sit in for a change. The Costa was very clean and the toilets were spotless.

i REALLY love the mac and cheese they do and i love the coke that comes with it and the crisps

I visited here on 02/03/24. The lady on the coffee machine made me a large latte, which was very low from the top. I then asked if she could top it up, and she said she was saving the oat milk. As paying customers, this is very disappointing when ordering a £5 drink!

Food and drinks are fine but when ordering online your your not very good at delievring e.g. forgetting the straws for the drinks in future i would make sure you have everything packed before delivering

Nice place to stop on our journey. Just annoying when on a Sunday you turn up at 5pm and on Google it's open till 6pm and show up to be told we shut at 5pm but we can't change the times on Google. Don't worry I'll do your job and change it in 5 minutes.........

Just went to The Abergavenny ( Drive Threw Branch) at 5.31pm on Sunday 24/3324, to find it Shut. Online it says it’s Open till 6pm, We went the only ones to turn up, and this is 3rd time,

Stopped in for a coffee and toasted sandwich with a work colleague . First time I've been in there very nice ,clean and tidy. Service was good , fast, friendly staff. Nice parking area don't know if I was supposed to give my number plate wasnt asked so not sure were I was supposed to .

Love Costa's , friendly staff, atmosphere is great, price as gone up lately, but nice place to chill.

Very rude staff at drive through, asked for extra syrup in my peach ice tea, got the window slammed on us 😂. Blonde guy needs a refresher on customer service skills.

Only reason I dropped a few stars is due to the price they could make it a bit cheaper apart from that friendly staff always helpful drinks are spot on what more can I say

I was making a morning treat run for my department and placing a sizeable order so I elected to order on the app for click and serve so as not to hold up the drive thru or indoor queue with 6 drinks and a pastry during a time when people might be trying to get to work. I thought this seemed the most convenient option as the app told me to click the "I'm here" button when I arrive and then the drinks are brought to the car, once you put your hazards on. When I arrived I went to click the "I'm here" button to find it was gone and a "reorder" button was there. A little frustrated, I went into store to find if my order had been lost or something. I spoke, pleasantly, to a woman, who's name I didn't get unfortunately, who seemed quite annoyed with me. I got halfway through saying "morning, I've placed a click and-..." and she pointed to a pile of pre-made rather cold drinks with a croissant. She then told me, in quite a snippy tone, that it had been sat waiting for a while and that she had been going out in the rain every ten minutes to check if I was there or not.... as if this was my fault? I explained that the app told me to do what I had tried to do and she just talked over me and told me that was wrong, as soon as they get the order they make the order unless I specify a time. Well, there was no option to specify a time in the app.... surely that's the point of the "I'm here" button? Anyway she also told me to just do the drive thru next time as it's more convenient and no one has to go out in the rain then. Yes, well, if I wanted to do the drive thru and hold everyone up then I would have picked that option. I picked the option I wanted to pick for the schedule of my morning. I tried to explain myself a couple more times to try and understand what it was i had supposedly missed but she just kept speaking over me in such a rude tone. This is the first time I've attempted to use the app but it was quite straight forward and gave instructions. It's not my fault if the various manners to deliver the service offered haven't been trained out properly. I'm honestly not contemplating returning - and I had been a regular customer as I work locally. Bit of a slap in the face to be spoken to like that, especially after placing such a large order. Also all the drinks were cold so thanks for that. Waste of near £30. I had to, of course, explain why the drinks were cold to my department..... so they're also now not keen on returning.

Just been to Costa, ordered two mocha's received two latte's. When I queried was told, he'd only charged for two latte's (implying we'd have to pay the difference)! Poor service

Lovely Costa, you can look out at the mountain ⛰️ and some times see the hangcliders going from the top.

I love the staff in this costa, always friendly, pleasant and helpful, nice atmosphere.

I always worry when I go to a coffe shop and they don't know what a filter coffe is......apart from that it was very pleasant.

I don’t know a thing about coffee shops, I just wanted some sort of milk drink with no coffee. Staff were super helpful in helping me choose even though I may have looked clueless! My drink was delicious though.

Great coffee and good WiFi to do some work. just off the heads of the valleys road in the carpark of the hotel and not McD's. They do drive through too. Very convenient if in the car. The other one in Abergavenny is defo walk to.

Been going here for years and the staff have always been friendly and welcoming. Sadly the price of living hits hard here and a sandwich will set you back between 3.50-£5. I recommend you don't purchase cakes after around 6pm, they have a few slices left and we've had everything from ok cakes to rock hard stale. The biggest let down in the costa stores in general atm is the horrible replacement SOY/DAIRY alternative cream you get on your coffee/drinks lately. Sadly it used to be lovely real dairy cream and this stuff isn't worth adding 50p to your order it's horrendous. Apart from that make sure you register your car at the till for the carpark 2 hour max stay. The views outside of thr blorenge, sugarloaf and surrounding areas as gorgeous on a summers day, you can sit outside (dog friendly water bowls on the floor) and maybe watch the occasional paraglider off the Blorenge.

Stunning view of the mountain and great coffee. Just under £4 for a large latte if it goes over £4 I will be back to Greggs!

Lovely stop off on the way to Abergavenny. Wow what a view, much nicer than the outlook of the Costa in our home town 🤣 Only had drinks but they were well made and much welcome after a long walk in the heat. Nice staff too, well done 👏

A very conveniently located Costa with drive thru. The coffee shop is located just off the A465, near a Premier Inn hotel and Brewers Fayre restaurant. We have used the drive thru here on a couple of occasions. The staff are very friendly and helpful and quickly prepared our order.

Peculiar system for parking. Sign outside says 3 hours. Go inside and the Costa sign in for parking system only covers 2 hours. I had to buy something else in order to renew the sign in so I could go over their 2 hour parking limit. No explanation from staff apart from one of them threatening that I would recieve a £1000 fine if I didn't.

I do not like leaving negative reviews but sorry Costa you really should train your staff to "Actively Listen" to customers when they are being served.I ordered a Macaroni Cheese and also requested 2 portions of tomato ketchup....when my order was served it was minus the ketchup which I then had to go back to the counter and queue again for and pay again 20p and also had to ask for napkins which Costa seem to be rationing or do not want you to have as they weren't brought when my food was served. Must do better Costa. Really frustrating that your store teams cannot do the very basics of customer service?.

Ordered cappuccino and they defaulted to give and charge for a large one. Didn’t ask. Coffee tasted like my attitude… bitter.

Always a pleasurable visit to Costa Llanfoist. Our drinks are always made just as we like them. As we are regular customers, our drinks are often being prepared as we walk through the door. We are always greeted with a smile and asked how we are. The staff, led by Amanda do a brilliant job. Well done everyone.

Best drive through coffee in Abergavenny

Ever since the out break of the Pandemic in 2020 and we were allowed to go out once more, my wife and daughter and I have liked going out from Hereford to this Costa in Abergavenny where there Covid security made us feel safe and getting out of the house along with the drive was a great uplift for us. It has now become a regular trip for us and on Friday 11th November this year we were in the coffee shop when the manageress announced that at 11:00 the shop was going to mark the two minutes silence and would we like to join in os to please just sit quiet for the two minuets. She had her phone on and as Big Ben started to chime we all stood and bowed our heads in remembrance for the two minutes. It was poignant and moving and I would like to take this opportunity to both thank Costa and the Abergavenny staff for this respectful expereance. THANK YOU

Perfect stop on route to Aberystwyth Uni to pick up/drop off daughter. I can see this being a new regular for us. Always friendly staff and a quick service.

Staff are not friendly at all. Today they were huddled behind the counter sniggering and laughing whilst customers waited to be served, clesrly too immature to care about remotely about customer service.

Always pop in when I've been walking and grab myself a refreshing drink! Now they do M&S food you have more choice on good food too! Car park available if you don't want to use their drive thru, also so nice outside seating. The best part! The view!!!! Just wait until you see it! And no, I don't mean the road! Look the other way ha ha ha 🤣 xx

Love me a Costa, yesterday was extremely hot, so treated myself to a strawberry and cream frappe...1st time but definitely not the last...it was lush...in fact I will go as far to say...PERFECT...the flavour was better than expected, it was cold, exactly what was needed in that heat...staff were really really friendly, nothing was too much trouble. If your in the area and fancy a coffee/frappe then you will not be dissapointed. First class service, thankyou

Restaurant part very disappointly shut early again. This time due to the extreme weather?! So no one on their long journey can sit in the air conditioned part to drink their drink, but can melt in their car. This is a common occurrence of shutting the restaurant early despite no posting on Google or updating their true opening times. I saw three people get out of their cars and turn around at the door in just the time I was getting back into my car 18/7/22. Very disappointing. Didn't give them my business as I can't sit in my car in this heat to have my drink.

Motorbikes not aloud or just not very welcome? 3 of us turned up on 24/06/2022. We parked legally and proceeded to place our helmets on the outside benches. Once we went inside to order we was told by a member of Costa staff that we had less than 30 minutes or we would get a parking fine. No signs to confirm his claims. We all agreed we would go to McDonald’s next door and save ourselves the fortune because his attitude was stinking.

Not as good as other costas, the place needs a good clean tables dirty no trays put away, floor needed cleaning.Very disappointed.

Hand written note on the door saying it was closing at 18.30 but I tried to get in at 17.30 and the door was locked. Apparently staffing issues were the reason. So the whole country is blaming staffing issues it seems. Be more Pro active, create a fantastic place to work, cherish your team and pay more if you need to. You're owned by Coca Cola so you have the resources... and in future if you close your doors early post an apology.

I have been there twice in the last month. Food and coffee was ok but staff were rude and abrupt on both occasions.

One of the nicest Costa Coffee I've been to. Met up with friends to catch up. Very fast service and friendly staff.

My review would be better of they weren't closed after accepting a clock and collect order during opening hours!

Food and drink ok, the same as you'd find in any other Costa. Some of the staff have been rude and generally unpleasant on several occasions. A sense of customer care and professionalism is lacking. Be prepared to be questioned on whether you've done their track and trace and made to redo it in front of them when they don't believe you.

Drive through, great coffee. Simple.

As expected no issues, toilets needed a good clean, very yellow under seat from pee.

Lovely little coffee shop, quiet and has a drive thru, polite staff, well worth a visit if passing.

Predominantely used as a drive through but I find it quicker and easier to order indoors. The full range of drinks and a good selection of hot and cold foods is available. The indoor seating is clean and comfortable.

Make sure the driver speaks. Rude service going around the drive thru and slower than expected before I got my drinks.

Turned up today for some much needed refreshments after a very long motorbike journey. My friend and I walked to counter window and were abruptly moved away as they wouldn't serve us on foot,so we promptly got on our motorcycles and drove around to the serving window (at the same distance away as a car service would be ) but we were very rudely spoken to by the stand in manager of the day and spoken to like we were children,when I asked why he wouldn't serve us he said it's our guidelines policy apparently.. DISCRIMINATION OR WHAT..🚳🚳🚳🛵🛵🛵
