Costa Coffee in Monmouthshire

On Sunday it took 4 members if staff 15 minutes to make 2 drinks.... So we Left and went to Neros!

the worlds slowest costa even my 110 year old nan can make a coffee faster than them

Have no complaints about the drink received, however, the atmosphere was horrific due to an older woman barista, speaking to her staff in a rude and unkind manner. I won’t be returning!

What an absolutely amazing store! It's always clean and tidy. Karen, the manager is always welcoming and friendly and always goes above and beyond. We are always provided with great customer service when visiting.

Dreadful. I asked for a brownie, but was charged for a brownie yet I got no brownie. Now that's not the only problem. As I watched her make a latte she wiped the machine with her hand. Very unhygienic. Now her attitude was also appalling, 3 hours untill the shop closed, the cafe was very busy yet she was closing it down and stopping customers from entering the lower half of the building. Normally a lovely women so I'm sure she just had a bad day.

I'm going to do my best to say something positive in this review as we've been to this Costa before and had a warm, helpful welcome. Saying that, today during our visit where the place was empty and two people ahead of us, we waited quite a long time to get served and when we did get served, the young lady could have been friendly. She asked if we wanted chocolate on our cappuccinos and I said, “yes please!“ She gave a light dusting and used the stencil, which meant you really didn't get much, so I said for the second one, she didn't need to use the symbol. She told me she had to with a bit of a bite to her words. All the other Costas that we've been to have been happy to oblige and we even have a laugh about it as I say I don't want to waist the chocolate. I hope that life gets better here as we used to enjoy coming here. In the meantime there are plenty of other coffee houses around. Bye for now.

July 23 visit. Always visit Costa when in Abergavenny and this Costa is better than some. One grouse is finding somewhere to sit where the air conditioning is not blasting out making it uncomfortable and cooling drinks and food. It was a pleasure to get back outside to warm up.

I love coming to costa myself and my medical dog are treated as family there they always look after us very welcoming place to go

OK so Costa is a chain, but their Abergavenny branch is very friendly and welcoming. They also recycle ♻️ 🥤

It's not often you go out of your way to write a positive review for a coffee chain. But the staff and service provided in this little coffee shop is second to none! Karen was particularly helpful in answering our questions and making sure our drinks are just right.

Had a vegan meatball wrap. OK, but needed more sauce as a little dry

Visited Costa in Abergavenny town today and was served by a delightful lady. The lady that served me at the till had a positive attitude, very helpful with great customer service. Which goes a long way.

One of my favourite Costa's that I regularly visit. Good location and warm and welcoming, Karen the manager and her colleagues are very friendly and professional even in the most stressful of times with constant Uber Eats orders alongside big queues of people.

We visited costa today with My wife and kids. As soon as we started our order the older lady asked me to ajuste my face mask while she wasn't wearing one at all, She went on asking Us all the questions and felt like being interrogated by police over covid rules. The lady made it impossible for Us to relax and have our afternoon coffee. We had to leave and went to another place were we found much better hospitality

Not the best experience , very forceful over the Costa covid sign in, wasn't listening to the issues we were having with registration. Coffee always good tho

Can't wait for the restrictions to be lifted so we don't have to go through the nonsense of using the app when sitting inside.

Abergavenny Costa is a good place to relax and enjoy a coffee. The staff are very friendly and the menu is excellent. The seating is very comfortable and well maintained. The staff are are now asking for identification when buying a coffee!

Wanted passport or id for a coffee didnt realise i crossed the border

Whilst visiting in Wales for the first time, my partner and I were in the town and decided to get a coffee and use the facilities. We walked into your Costa in Abergavenny, I walked through to use the toilet and we were summond back by your employee George, she was incredibly rude in her manner and shouted across the room at us to insist we order prior to using the toilet. We have met some lovely people on our visit and I was shocked to be spoken to so rudely. I can only assume she was having a bad day and I hope she feels better soon, in the meantime we will take our custom elsewhere.

I was in the Q for 20 mins and I scanned the Covid-19 bar code and everything hoping i will be served and the lady with glasses to ID us all 4 and making things all hard and she been unrepeatable to us as well I was so angry ppl like her shouldn't be working with costumers at all , I hop she moves from that Costa soon because she is absolutely cow

Three staff that were surprisingly happy given that they were very busy! One at the door explaining the queuing system another at the till who was happy to help with my order. The barista was really busy but still very polite. Would go again.

Came here on Saturday 2nd of jan at approx 12.11pm. In order to get out of obligations with my friends, I had to hurriedly run down to Costa coffee in order to realise the lie I had told them about walking with my family. I ordered two coffees which were served to me without any problems at all. In fact, the service was stellar. Unfortunately, as it took nearly 3 minutes to serve me the coffee, my lie slowly unravelled in the most embarrassing manner. Public humiliation followed. I was unable to produce said image of a family walk without a significant delay and this led to my outing, my shaming and ultimately my demise.

A huge thank you to all the staff at Costa Abergavenny who have been fantastic throughout the various lockdowns, coping with all the changes with a smile and delivering a professional, friendly service, which has been much appreciated!

Used to be a nice place to go. One of my clients especially used to love his weekly visit there. Now they've done a Cadburys & it's been sold off to some US giant & none of us go there any more. We thought the coffee tasted much worse, cheaper, the 2 or 3 times that we did try it . I've heard 3 or 4 confirmations that it isn't as good now which is a shame. Good job there's plenty of great indie coffee shops nearby.

Today it's not a lot short of filthy. Shame cos I like Costa..... Now it is the 30th of December and it was a lot cleaner than our last visit. Today the staff were really pleasant and good coffee too, thank goodness, I thought I'd have to go without a decent coffee.

Dissappointed... went for an all the trimmings hot chocolate however was so weak it just tasted of milk so had to take all the cream off as not to dilute it anymore!!!

Very disappointed with the state of the place. Most of the tables hadn't been cleared. The floor had debrey etc, bits of food and wrappings. Other than what I've stated above, the staff were very helpful and polite. I will visit again to see if any improvements.

It's good service,the toilets are clean and it is a good place to do your work or just chill out ,the drinks are good,they have different menu's for different seasons and it is quite cosy. On this visit I had a 'luxury hot caramel' and it was very strong but it was also a drink you could have if you wanted a small drink but just chill out whilst you have it.

Absolutely love Costa Coffee and they can supply me with soya milk

Lovely coffee and brekkie this morning. Staff were particularly friendly and chatty.

Ordered soya milk in my Chao latte. I wasn't watching so did not see her get the soya milk cartons out of the fridge. The drink did not look frothy like it usually does and tasted a bit greasy. I asked again and she said it was soya. Had a dick you tummy in the morning. Always check they use soya when you ask for it.

Always a constant taste etc to their coffees and teas.

Great products (but then we are fans of Costa!), such a shame that it was like being served by juvenile delinquents with ZERO customer service skills. Shameful and quite un-necessary damage to your brand!

It's is a really nice place to go, the staff do there best to help you with what ever you want, but not that?? If a nice place to have a coffee tea and cake, it's nice for the children as well.

Good for a coffee when your in a rush but can sometimes take a while depending on how busy it is.

It is what it is, you know you'll get good coffee, gets quite busy but generally you don't queue too long, table clearing isn't a priority but there is a set of toys for the kids to enjoy but does tend to block the aisle but the thought is there.

Good coffee, quickly prepared. Beware the 'Massimo' cup - it really is massive, with two handles!! Friendly staff. Loyalty card scheme. Light snacks also served. Prices pretty much the same as other coffee shops. Plentiful seating, with a couple of window seats you can watch the street go by from. Nice clean toilets with a disabled loo.
