Beautiful decks but thats where compliments stop. absolutely no service. All Small potions except mac and cheese, once we were given our meals we never saw a waitress again. We were a family get together, a party of 10 all adults and they missed out on a lot of custom .

The ceiling decorations were very pretty and the Halloween decorations were amazing. All staff were friendly and helpful and it was very clean, will definitely book again!

Came here 2day for a family meal,( more children than adults) the staff in general where lovely, But the manager was so rude, the children where playing out side she locked then out and watched them cry and bang on the door, this has tramatised them considering they all have additional needs This is my second visit today, and now my last, Shame as food is all home made and staff in general lovely, Lady Management should be ashamed

Loved our visit to Twisted Oak yesterday, highly recommend! We met for a family reunion with two young children and the staff were really accommodating. Lot's of space for the kids to run around in and a play park with a slide which was great fun for them. Food was great, everything tasted fresh and really yummy. Perfect pub food, so we will 100% be returning!

Entered the pub last Wednesday 14th Aug. Asked if we could go to beer garden with the children, told yes and girl behind bar just let us go the wrong way !! Went back to bar and she was just stood there yawning 🥱. Bar was empty. Not a good look for the business having a yawning bored looking bar person

If you’re looking for a low budget and family friendly restaurant this is the place to go. Classic pub food, very cheap, large kids play area. Definetly wouldn’t recommend for a date night or quiet evening- it’s more for families. The lamb curry from the specials board was really nice.

This pub / restaurant / private function room is a hidden gem. Not only does it boast all of the aforementioned attributes, it also has a huge beer garden and children's play area. Great Beers, wines, food, and a Sunday carvery are what you can expect. You'll be greeted by a team of very friendly faces all eager to help. There's also a lovely long dining room with a glass roof in which you can enjoy your meal. If it's sport you are looking for, look no further as this can be found on the big TV located in the function room. More people need to know of this establishment, as it's well worth a visit. It also makes for a great wedding reception venue.

We followed a brown sign to find this pub after we detoured away from busy traffic on the A30. It was a great little pitstop for us, decently priced good food and attentive service. After a challenging 4 mile bike ride with the children, we were looking for a nice pub with great food. There was nothing but disorganisation from the moment we walked in. We were told we couldn’t sit in the nicer part of the pub, even though it was empty and decided to sit outside ( which was a pain- as you have to walk around the outside of the pub through the back gate with your drinks and cutlery). When the food arrived we were massively disappointed! The chicken burger was horrendous- overcooked, chewy and dry. The worst burger ever eaten. The kids carvery was luke warm, and the Turkey was dry. The vegetable were clearly frozen. We left feeling cheated, paying close to £100 and dampening what had been a great start to our holiday.

Really enjoyed our visit to The Twisted Oak. Atmosphere was very good. Place was really clean and well placed. Staff were friendly but come across a little stand off-ish but still remain professionl. Outside play area is pretty decent and seating areas were well presented. We all had burgers which were really nice and we all enjoyed them. Think prices are a little high, especially when they charge £2 extra for cheese and £2 extra for bacon. That's really high mark up considering the prices of those ingredients.

We arrived at 9pm on a Saturday night just for one drink. The place was empty and there was two people behind the bar. The younger of the two was very nice and served us, the other (a lady with red hair) made it very obvious that she didn't want us there, making little snide remarks that she probably thought we couldn't hear. If they wanted to close, they just needed to tell us when we walked in rather than making us feel the most unwelcome we've ever felt walking into any pub.

I stayed at Hotel du Vin, Exeter for 4 nights in July 2023. Generally very good service. Parking is very tight at this establishment so parking spaces must be booked and paid for in advance of your stay at £15 per night. When I arrived, there was a sign with my name on it so I parked there and didn't use the car for the rest of my stay. Reception were very helpful on arrival and answered any questions I had. I had a Cosy Room at the back of the hotel which I was disappointed about as it was very small and cramped and you could still hear the traffic noise from round the corner. Breakfast in the Bistro was great. Very helpful staff. Lots of choice from the Country Table and Hot Breakfast choices. All staff were welcoming and knowledgeable regarding the menu, but at £19.95 per head this was not worth it but I had the free breakfast every day as part of my booking. The indoor/outdoor swimming pool was great. The indoor part had water jets, so a bit like a jacuzzi then the outdoor part, through the wall, was deep enough to swim in. This area also had a nice changing room with showers and lockers. BUT my real gripe was the cleaning of the rooms. I am a cleaner myself so I do understand. I thought there were some marks on the bathroom shelf so I spoke to an older lady about it and she came back to me and informed me something hot had been left on the side so these were probably burn marks. But unfortunately when it came to the bathroom sink drain hole, this was really dirty. This really is not acceptable for an establishment that charges these prices. I called into my room one day to find a young girl tidying up. She just grunted at me when I said hello. No conversation whatsoever. Despite these annoyances, I will be back as I enjoyed my stay and the bed was particularly comfortable and the hotel is centrally located in Exeter. UPDATE This is much improved on last year. This year I paid more for a larger room which was much more suited to the purpose. It overlooked the garden, had a huge bed with plenty of room round it. The cleaning was also much improved. I would always book a Classic Room in the future. It made all the difference. Also, the room was situated at the end of the building, so you didn't hear anyone snoring or banging about. PLEASE NOTE the parking is now £20.

The place looked nice from the outside, so we decided to give it a try. But as soon as we walked in, it was like we were invisible to the staff. After finally grabbing a table and picking out what we wanted to eat, we tried to order at 11:57, only to be told that the lunch menu didn't start until 12. Fair enough, but why couldn't they just take our order and hold off on making it until 12? The staff were a bit of a mess - talking loudly, swearing, and sitting on the counter. And their personal conversations... I really didn't need to hear all the gossip on who’s sleeping with who, while trying to enjoy my lunch. To top it off, one of them had Snapchat notifications going off non-stop, which was beyond annoying. On the bright side, the food was actually pretty good. But the service was so off-putting that I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone or bother going back myself. A shame because it’s a lovely location and interior nice.
