Turnberry lighthouse was my fathers family home whilst my grandfather was a night keeper back in the late 1940s in to the 1950s. I did not know that the True estate has purchased the lighthouse and turned it in to a very luxury apartment. We could only see what it looked like from the images on the website. The true estate has done a great job of restoring the lighthouse and making. the surroundings accessible for the public. The walks around the golf course is very good and we had a fabulous time.

This half way house for the ailsa craig Golf course for Trump Turnberry was fantastic and well worth the short walk across the Golf course. Views of the sea and cloud formation with waves crashing in to the shore made it an exhilarating venue for a hot chocolate.

Having a golf enthusiast with me, he had already looked up the light house. So we took a walk up from maidens, the walk was easy and pathed all the way (perfect if you have prams etcThere is a small car park if you were to drive, but still a beautiful walk through the course to the light house. The course looked beautiful with stunning scenery. We walked around and the views were 5*The halfway house is beautiful, clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and we were served immediately. I was surprised to see the hot drinks served in disposable cups, and throw away cutlery.A lovely walk back down to maidens all in all an enjoyable experience, so much so we returned before going home.

What can I say about this place. It’s fantastic have a walk to it. It’s behind the 9th green and 10th tee. Toilets are smashing clean, there are fantastic views out to sea, nice tea room and there is now an apartment above the place. I would think it will be expensive, but check it out

The food and drink selections at the Lighthouse is really good. The service is friendly. The views from the Lighthouse of the coastline and Ailsa golf course are spectacular. One can go to the Lighthouse without playing golf. It has a large sitting area to enjoy your food and views. The Lighthouse has been renovated to have Rick Wiedemer bedroom suites that can be rented nightly. The pricing is pretty stiff. The current tariff is £1,500 per night plus tax, etc.

Walk to the lighthouse through the golf course it's absolutely amazing. Lighthouse looks beautiful outside and inside. Service in that little Cafe it's very professional and helpful. Food was nice. But...Coffee is served in take away cups (not really environment friendly or elegant) and it's not tasty at all. They using that automatic coffee machines that I will say are good enough for a petrol station but in place like this I would really expect something with higher quality.

Take time out to walk to the lighthouse. You won't be disappointed. Check out the scenery and be blown away at the golf course. Both holes either side of this 'half way house' look absolutely incredible. Can't wait to see how the pro's play them when the Open returns to this amazing course in 2022.

We had been having a look over the golf course near the clubhouse and the local policeman recommended that we find the small car park and walk to the lighthouse. It was a very windy day but fine, and we followed his advice. It is indeed a small car park - about a dozen or so spaces - but the walk through the golf course was lovely. As a (bad) golfer I loved seeing the perfectly manicured tees and greens and would love to play them some day.

On our Scottish tour we passed through Turnberry and Trumpton. Quite a place! As a monumental landmark its a good opportunity to take time out and visit the Lighthouse. It has been greatly refurbished by Mr Trump and if you can brave the wind it is an interesting experience. There is limited parking off the main road and you walk along the designated pathway observing golf etiquette along the way so as not to get hit by a golf ball or buggy and not to put the golfers off their game. There is a great view at the end of the road of the coast. The lighthouse is impressive and in great condition. There is a café there too and toilets. In spite of the wind and a dull day it was a pleasant walk.

Stopped off at Turnberry lighthouse as we were passing by. We were a group of 8 adults, 2 children, 1 baby & 2 dogs. We had a pleasant walk to the lighthouse, which is approx 1 mile from the car park. We were greeted by the most friendly member of staff, who advised us what facilities were available - toilets, coffee shop and bowls of water for the dogs. My father in law and 2 teenage sons were also very lucky to have a visit inside the lighthouse (for donations to a local children’s charity). We had coffee and enjoyed the most amazing view and also got to see a basking shark in the sea - well worth a visit

Called by chance whilst on holiday last week and we were surprised with the friendliness of the staff that we met whilst walking across the course and the staff working in the restaurant. We only had coffees and snacks, we sat outside and looked across the sea to Arran. We would certainly look to visit the lighthouse again in the future. The above title need to be amended as the sign on the roadside now shows 'Trump Lighthouse'.

Enjoyed a lovely walk to the cafe with friends and our two dogs . Made very welcome and could sit with the dogs on the patio and take in the magnificent scenery! Service was excellent and food very tasty if a little pricey ! Only disappointment was the food was served on cardboard plates which were difficult to handle in the breeze ! Thought it was because we were outside but no guests inside got cardboard plates too very poor for an establishment like this hence only 4 stars ! But will go again just for the scenery.

Went out to the lighthouse for a leisure walk and what a pleasant surprise. Cold crisp winters day. Golfers were out other walkers too. We parked just in the small car park area off the.main road. The walk out to the lighthouse is now made on a new tarmac path/road. Along the way there are two wells with drinking fountains.. not ornimental just functional. Walk over to the Wartime Air services Monument. The monument is within the Turnberry Golf course, so take care if you walk over to it. The golfers we met were all friendly and chatting with us. Some old castle ruins are near the lighthouse. Once there and after reading the information plaque we walked around the building which revealed a huge patio area looking out over the Firth of Clyde to the Irish sea and Ailsa Craig in the distance. There is the Halfway Restaurant there looks lovely and posh but we did not dine there. However we will in summer :)

Typical Trump bling for sure but worth a visit if your either playing the course or having a nice walk. Donald Trump set out to create the greatest halfway house in the world, and he did just that. The lighthouse beckons you throughout the challenging front nine--guiding golfers through the dunes and the ocean breezes. As a halfway house, it's brilliant. Plenty of beverages and foods to choose from. The only problem is that you are tempted to spend the afternoon on the deck overlooking the crashing seas, rather than venturing back onto the 10th tee for more punishment. 5 Stars!

This is really the halfway house (snack stop) for the golfers. But I thought, hey, let's go anyway and get an insight into the trump Turnberry world (but on the cheap). So I set off with the kids on a beach walk, we parked the car at the public parking at the edge of Turnberry, walked along the beach, to get to the lighthouse, that became slightly problematic as the beach sort of disappears as you get close to the lighthouse, so up onto the course we went, effectively walked along the side of a golf hole to reach the lighthouse, not ideal, but it was quite. Walked into the lighthouse, WOW, very smart, opulent, lovely. Quite small maybe just 7 tables. I thought I would feel slightly out of place with the kids, but another family were there just having coffee. Menu is small and expensive for food - Toasties started at £12, but then soup and bread was £4 and cappuccino £3, so just normal prices for them. We had the soups and coffee. A nice snack lunch. We headed back to the car via the internal road through the course, back to the clubhouse and back along the pavement to the car. Maybe a 3 mile round trip, but really nice scenery and an oppulent stop for for the snack. Great. Really enjoyed it. Would we go back....definetely.....heading back tomorrow, but this time parking in the clubhouse car park, so a much smaller walk. Brilliant.

Unparalleled location and a genuine warm welcome at this iconic structure. Played the old course years ago and recall good food at the halfway house . This felt beyond comparison. Decent choice , 2 soups on offer and served with beautiful ciabatta at £4 a pop ( unbelievable after £7 a pint in the clubhouse) Perfect spot to refresh on a cold and blustery day on the Ailsa . Met and waved through a delightful 2 ball from Royal Dornoch and Nairn , swapped a few "great course/ real gem" stories, and emerged refreshed for the treat of a finish on a really impressive and improved championship links . Already planning return trip and purposely not got political ️️

We booked a Dome so our two wee dogs didn’t disturb other diners. The venue was superb, the food - especially the vegetarian menu - was extensive and simply excellent. I’d eat there every day of the week if my wallet allowed. Great staff. All round 6/5. Ron

Can't believe it took us so long to find this place, saves us a trip to Glasgow to find a decent Ramen and Sushi place. Food was amazing, flavourful and filling, great value for money would give it 10/10 if I were to criticise it I would say chips were terrible but they were an after thought and perhaps a child menu or half portion option would be a great addition to the menu especially for the Ramen
