Outstanding old pub in the heart of Leeds, (which serves a great choice of real ales...I was able to have Theakstones Old Peculiar and Timothy Taylors Landlord - my two favourite ales!

I love the quirky alleyway at the Turks Head, having been previously only for drinks I decided to venture for Sunday lunch. It was £16.95 for roast pork, you get a decent portion (ask for apple sauce). Only downsize was the roasties were a bit soggy having been stuck underneath the huge (but tasty) Yorkshire pud. Will definitely be back to sample more tasty food though.

It’s a great bar and stunning food! Lots of options and plenty gluten free. But please mark the allergy’s on the menu! The faff for the staff and us to find out what we can and cannot eat in a very busy bar is crazy. Makes the customer feel like they are a pain. Sort this and it’s 5star all the way.

The Sunday roast in England is a regular event of ours. In Yorkshire we discovered these giant Yorkshire puddings and their habit of pouring all the gravy onto the plate. Potatoes and vegetables (cabbage and carrots) cooked to perfection, the roast beef was well cooked but tender. On the side we shared a cauliflower pie with cheese and bechamel. All accompanied with a stout beer. We enjoyed everything. The Turk's Head is the "young" version of Whitelock's, the oldest pub in Leeds. They share the kitchen. The advice is to book on their website because, especially for Sunday lunch, they are both always full

Nice food and little restaurant area. Only disappointing thing about the meal was they asked if we would like to see the dessert menu. Gave us it and never came back to take a dessert order or to give us our bill. We had to go up to the bar to pay for the final bill. I wanted another drink and a dessert. 3 staff stood around talking at the bar so not busy.

My friend and I have been meeting at The Turks Head for at least 10 years now! We love the atmosphere & warm welcome from the staff!!! However, lately, when we have been enjoying our time together at a table, we have been approached by the lovely bar staff to tell us that our table has been booked for a meal at a later time & we need to vacate it before that certain time. This then puts us on edge as we’re constantly looking for where we can move to!! Yesterday we were told we needed to move before 5pm. We eventually found a table to move to but annoyingly, the people who booked the table we were initially sat on didn’t turn up!!! I think it would be better if The Turks Head took a deposit from people to ensure they turn up!

Terrible service. Worst part about the whole experience was they wiped down our table before we even left for the next customer. I was so insulted. So we got up and tried to pay at the bar and was just ignored. We then went outside to finish our drinks waiting for the bill. We should have just left. Server tried to excuse the poor hospitality because “they were too busy” but there was only 2 other tables than us. I wonder how many people don’t actually pay and just walk off without anyone realising, as we should have.

I really like this watering hole hidden away in one of Leeds' historic 'loynes' - the narrow back streets between Briggate and Vicar Lane. The Turks Head shares its loyne with the more venerable Whitelocks and differs from it by being devoted exclusively to craft beers. Both pubs benefit from outdoor bench seating where smoking and vaping are permitted. There is overhead heating which makes the space survivable even during the coldest days of winter. My favourite aspect of the place is the preservation of the late Victorian shop frontages, which give a rare insight into the past. My second favourite is Five Points Pale, which is a truly delicious cask ale.

We came for Sunday Roast having read the good reviews, All can say is obviously some people are easily pleased. Our dinner arrived it looked okay at first glance. Until we tried it the little veg we got was cold the gravy was cold, we called the waitress she took it back to the kitchen ten mins later it arrived back absolutely swimming in warm gravy. Needless to say the food under the gravy was just being warmed by the actual gravy I attempted to cut into a roast potatoe but couldnt cut any of the three I got. Due to them being dehydrated I hate half of Yorkshire pudding and called it a day, My partner managed to eat a bit more than me, He said just shows you can't always go off reviews. When the waitress came to take our plates it was obvious with the amount of food that was left there was something wrong and to be fair to the waitress She asked was there a problem so we explained. She apologised and said I will take 50% of the bill which made us feel a bit better at 15.95 each I didn't feel has hard done by I certainly would not recommend having a roast here it's over priced for the tiny bit of veg you get there is nothing worse than a cold Sunday roast. .

Brought my partner after going on how amazing it was and left disappointed. We got 1 slice of meat with a slice of fat/gristle that was folded in half to make it look like 2 slices of meat . when usually there are 3 or 4 thick slices of meat, so we couldn't share half beef half lamb like planned . 1 piece of kale and hardly any veg. Plate looked kind of bare. Felt quite embarrassed about how I'd gone on about how good it is.

My first time visiting The Turk's Head and what an establishment this is 1 of the 2 oldest public house's (a.k.a pub's) in leeds city centre. The staff was and are friendly, welcoming and always at hand if you need anything at all. I had an axiety attack for the first time in a long time due to it being a busy saturday whilst leeds united was playing. The food they serve is delicious and caters for vegan's too, i had a gorgeous spiced cauliflower steak with sides to accompany my rosè wine which was a treat and half in itself. The staff made sure i was alright as well as looked after both in house and smoking area. Even the door supervisors also did the same and cant fault any one of them. Truly is a go to place for anybody wether its a quite tipple, meal out with the family (dogs are welcomed) or a meeting point with the girls/lads and even if you have pre-match jitters when your football teams are playing etc. Highly recommend!

Message received in app at 8.55 to say it had been delivered at 9.20 which it obviously hadn’t as this was a future time.
