Cafe Deli Margaux in Leeds

The food and service was absolutely amazing! We were walk-ins on a busy afternoon and they went out of their way to fit us in. I had the mushroom crumpets which was very unusual but so tasty. Definitely worth a try if you’re a fan of mushrooms. Can’t wait to return for one of their taster evenings!

I went here for the first time last night to try their 5 course tasting menu, a friend had recommended their brunch. I was honestly blown away. Every single member of the team was friendly and welcoming, I can't remember ever being as impressed with the service of any restaurant anywhere. The courses were introduced to the whole room and the passion coming from the kitchen team was infectious, clearly a lot of love had gone into the food. They explained the detail of how everything was made which was so interesting and educational (especially if you're a foodie). The food, it was so good, I don't know what to say. My table of four spent almost the entire night debating which was the best dish, we couldn't agree, they were all fantastic. The attention to detail, the mix of flavours, the advice to eat a certain thing first to cleanse the pallet before the rest of the dish, it was just brilliant, elegant and delicious. Chef James and Chef Dale went out of their way to come and speak to us and make us feel welcome, they were so friendly and you could really tell they cared about our opinion. I genuinely haven't had such a good experience in a very long time. They do these tasting nights monthly and I'll certainly be back next month and no doubt the month after. I couldn't recommend this restaurant enough. I'll be telling everyone I know.

What a wonderful find in Farsley! Visiting a friend from out of town who suggested this little gem of a place. Cosy and welcoming, with amazing friendly staff 🫶🏼 The ladies who served us were attentive , offering recommendations about the food and drinks. We both had coffee - a delicious brew and the New Yorker bagel. I had read a negative review posted recently (David, I think) about the food and coffee at Margaux’s, but I completely disagree- it was DELICIOUS and the bagel was packed with fillings and so very tasty. The coffee was so good we had two and shared a slice of the carrot cake made that day by the chef. I will certainly be returning. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cosy little independent cafe, lovely staff, quite a few options unavailable and no gluten free options so didn't try cakes but lattes were tasty.

Whoops ! Pretentious and overblown food with small portions and weak bitter coffee served by a lovely lady in glasses … in fairness I was offered a double shot in a fresh coffee however that would not make up for the bitterness … note to owner, when you’ve set your grinder keep it set don’t fiddle with it as you where while I was watching, frankly it should’ve been done at least before service. As for the pastrami bagel not too bad a flavour but the paltry size of the pastrami portion was an embarrassment, go to Slow Rise bakery and see how it’s done, seriously you will learn something. The ‘loaded’ fries were barely loaded the fries cheap and generic the topping barely there. If you have to, charge more for the fries, but the bagel is top price as it is … once again …Slow Rise Bakery take an hour out learn something about building a bagel and running a smaller menu successfully.

I had seen quite a few positive reviews online about this place and liked the look of the breakfast menu on the website. However, unfortunately we were disappointed. The menu was different to their website with the ingredients being changed or some items not being there such as the Eggs Florentine. My mum went for the “King Crumpets” which came with a poached egg, mushrooms and sauce. Despite the name, it was one minuscule crumpet (think half the size of what you can buy in a supermarket) although she did enjoy the taste. Given the size, it was not worth the price. I went for the Avocado on toast and added poached eggs. Unfortunately they have changed all the toast to White Tiger Bloomer instead of Sourdough as stated on the website. This to me is a huge downgrade and appears an attempt to cut costs. Also, personally it makes a huge difference in the quality and taste of the dish. The service was somewhat slow as despite it not being very busy the tap water and coffees didn’t come out until the same time as the food. The positives include the warm atmosphere, Darkwoods coffee and food presentation. I would recommend in future if they switched back to sourdough as despite the points mentioned, the food was tasty.

I really enjoyed my first visit with friends. Great atmosphere and welcoming staff. The food was of a very high standard and well presented, served with a smile and in good time from placing our order. main and desert were also timed well, without us feeling rushed. A good selection of wine and other drinks are available. Sam (the owner) and her staff deserve high praise for the excellent service they provided throughout. If you like great food this is one place you must visit and put it in your calendar now... They are also open throughout the day, so check out their web page for details and menu.

Incredible food!! We had a meal there last night, the food was very well presented and was delicious. The staff were friendly and courteous. A great atmosphere. We hope to see you all again soon. Thank you.

Wow, this place is a little gem. We've been twice and honestly, I'd go every day if we could. We first discovered their Instagram page and thought, we NEED to go here. I was not wrong. The food is sensational, the coffee is amazing and their pastries are incredible. Can't wait to go back.

Interior design has been done really well. Downsides for me were only white bread available and only smoked bacon. I can't stand smoked bacon and prefer unsmoked, so went for the veggie breakfast instead, which was nice, but would have preferred a full English.

Amazing food and service. Dale is an excellent chef and we very much enjoyed every course of our 2nd taster evening, after having previously been to the Yorkshire one.

Dog friendly establishment. Nice Eggs Benedict but please keep the yolk runny. Mine was soft but not as runny as I like. Pleasant interior and fantastic coffee. Update: try the mushroom Benedict with a side of perfectly fried hashbrown and bacon. Where have you been all my life? The mushroom Benedict dish on its own has already a nice mix of flavours and beautiful presentation. I just wanted to overdo it. Good service and nice aromatic latte. Bizarrely placed toilet but operational.

Visited here today for lunch with 3 friends & a little pooch. The food here is outstanding, I can’t even rave enough about the quality and flavours of here. Their menu is so unique, no standard sandwiches or pancakes. I had their steak sandwich & the bacon jam & crumb was delicious along with the most tender steak I’ve ever had, it was like butter. Such a gorgeous, cosy place with a friendly team. Very lucky we have such an amazing foodie spot in our village. :)

Wrong order just didn’t listen won’t be returning hope they learn from this as allergies and dietary requirements are important and may I add as you have responded with a cop out response I am a vegetarian and you served me a meat meal and I sent it back and told you to keep I didn’t eat in your place . So thank you for your false response that I was happy with the food that is incorrect i don’t count bacon as a vegetarian meal maybe you would like to contact me for the full story as you are trying to make a show of me on here as I appreciate you may get 5 star reviews you won’t be getting one from a vegetarian served meat .

Unfortunately this was recommended. It wasn’t the best experience and the breakfast was really poor. Not good value for money or taste. Edit: we came on Tuesday 30th. I actually wanted to walk out due to delay, but it was my husband’s birthday.

Nice atmosphere and lighting. Food was good. High end so decent quality but you pay for it. About £16 for a full English with one of each item cooked nicely.

If you want some of the best food you have ever had i would recommend Cafe Margaux. We have been to two of the special event evenings, the chef is a genius and the front of house staff are quick and attentive. We enjoyed last night so much we have booked ahead for the next two events. Check out their website for a list of events and their normal menu. July 2024, weve just been back to the spanish evening and yet again Dale the chef excelled himself, but i have to also say the rest of the staff are amazing especially the two young ladies serving everyone, they must be tired tonight, they didnt stop all night.

Amazing coffee and delicious pastries + super friendly staff!!

Tucked away in Farsley, this is most definitely “worth a detour” to use a Michelin guide expression. Having heard great things about their tasting menus, we decided to try brunch on a damp Sunday morning. Not disappointed! A lovely variety of breakfasts, all beautifully presented and tasted amazing.

Three of us had the Full Margaux, and one of us the Full Garden. The food was gorgeous and the service was wonderful! We'll definitely be back.

Amazing food. Dale is a genius. Their tasting evenings are phenomenal. We come for brunch with our little Granddaughter who loves coming especially for the orange peas (baked beans for the grown ups!) - her grandparents like 3 Little Pigs and the steak and eggs

Great little independent cafe. Friendly polite staff. Food was absolutely delicious done to a high standard -taste and presentation. Poached egg done perfectly and the bacon is to die for. Match that with the best hash brown and black pudding not to forget the little pieces of roast pork. 10/10. The coffee was prepared by a trained barista as well. Would reccomend reserving a table as it can get quite busy and it is popular with locals. Great little gem discovered by chance.

This is a lovely place but recently changed the lunch time menu, we get things had to change but we preferred the old menu.

Found this place on the way to Leeds Bradford Airport, absolutely brilliant, the food was excellent, I had the steak and eggs, good value for money and easily one of the best breakfasts I've had in years, poached eggs and steak were cooked perfectly.

We absolutely loved our visit today! The service and staff were amazing! So attentive and couldn’t do enough for us, making room for our baby in the pram! The food was delicious and we took a cake home which was also gorgeous! Would 100% recommend!

Just had breakfast here and it was absolutely delicious. I had eggs Florentine and my partner had steak and poached eggs. The presentation was beautiful and the plates were warm.Would definitely return.

I thought that I'd give give Cafe Deli Margeux a try and I'm so glad that I did. The food was absolutely exceptional,the Chef Dale was outstanding. The atmosphere was great too and we were made to feel welcome by Samantha. I highlighly recommend this place.

Third visist (I think) Food and drinks are always delighful. Cant fault it, so much flavour and effort in the food.I understand that they were busy but so much seemed sold out- They were out of avocado, veggie sausages and black pudding. Had to change which breakfast options we went for or swap items because of it. Me and my partners had Hash breakfast, Veggie Garden brekkie, frappe, tea and 3 buns to take home which came to £47.70 Its definely somewhere I would go again, but only after pay day as it is expensive for what it is. Nice treat now and again though! The food was great. Bit disappointed by the frappe it was more of a iced coffee. Still tasty though.

We found margaux’s by accident when visiting farsley. We love it so much we travel from otley just to come here. The food is restaurant quality and the cakes are amazing. It’s nicely decorated with lovely atmosphere. Great place just for coffee or a nice lunch with friends. Make the trip you won’t be disappointed.

Edit: We were a little sad that the tapas menu has left but the bistro menu is superb. Absolutely amazing flavours and presentation and friendly service as always. We've had breakfast, lunch and now tapas here and it's all fantastic. Lovely food and drink, service is excellent, and the welcome and ambiance are all top notch.

1st time here at this little gem of a deli cafe with my wife, daughter and granddaughter. Child and dog friendly. Great choice for breakfast/brunch. My wife had the Breakfast Margaux, my daughter and myself had the Breakfast Stack and my granddaughter had scrambled egg on toast. All served by friendly, smiling and efficient staff. Cafe was quite busy but it was a Saturday morning. Everything about the place is excellent and I can't recommend it highly enough. Enjoy!

Honestly I don't do reviews but this place and the food and most of all the lady's are simple sublime the knowledge they possess makes you feel welcome come for breakfast ended up having lunch I had new York bagel and wow this was nothing short of astonishing and my wife had Harrissa bagel and was delicious 😋 will definitely be coming back for the tapas evening prices wise spot on for the quality of the stuff they're serving can't recommend enough

Fabulous place in the heart of Farsley. The food is just gorgeous, the team are all so lovely and the atmosphere and decor makes it the perfect place to treat yourself. Very highly recommended.

First time in the area, and found this absolute GEM of a cafe! Delicious food and such attentive staff. Truly worth visiting the town just to get brunch/lunch here! Couldn't fault anything. Food cooked to perfection, coffee stocked is great, and staff are so friendly. Decor is really nice too! Will make the trip again to come back here ☺️

Amazing night at Cafe Deli Margaux celebrating my Husband's 50! Our goals for the evening were good food, great vibes and to feel like we could enjoy the evening with our guests whilst everyone was being catered for! I couldn't have asked for more, Sam helped build a fantastic itinerary and made the planning fun, the food organised by James exceeded all expectations and all 30 guests were looked after and always catered for! We received many compliments the next day about how fantastic the venue was, and Sam and Team brought so much positive energy into the event!! I can't thank you enough and would hugely recommend you go to Sam and utilise this venue if you are planning any celebrations! Thanks again to all of you who helped that evening! xxx

I have visited this cafe on several occasions now and have never been disappointed. The tapas is fabulous and the lunch offerings are always excellent with superb customer service. The staff are friendly, diligent and cater for all needs. I have also dined here with young children and the staff were so accommodating. And the brownies are simply to die for😊

We came for lunch just before 12pm and were provided with breakfast menu only ( what we wanted wasn't available so ended up having just eggs on toast). The staff never informed us should we have waited 10 or 15 minutes we could actually have lunch. Very disappointing customer service, hence would not go again.

Best tapas I’ve had in a very long time if not all time. Service team was great (especially from Tom) nice atmosphere and food was all fresh and so tasty. Even the puddings were unreal too… recommend the ox cheek, meatballs and truffle oil chips in particular.

I went for breakfast it was very disappointing the sausages were awful. I asked for a fried egg instead of poached and was told they don't do Fried eggs so I went with poached. It tasted of vinegar and the bacon was poor too. It does no warrant the price £9.95.

Worth a visit, no matter what you have

Went here on a busy Saturday and unfortunately feel this is the reason we were ignored. We watched as others came in and got a menu and served whilst we sat with no menu, we where sat in plain sight and although staff could clearly see us waiting for menus or service of any kind we were ignored. After another table was served before us we decided to get up and leave. The food looked great just a shame about the service. Hopefully they can improve on their treatment of customers and organization for busier days.

Popped in for a coffee and pastry in the morning and it was such a lovely place (good service, background music and decor) that we came back for lunch. I had quiche with salad and a side of parmesan truffle fries, the fries in particular were gorgeous. The morning pastry was really fresh, so at lunchtime I also got an almond croissant to take out for later. We will definitely be back and Farsley itself is wonderful, a really interesting place so well worth a visit.

Lovely tapas food, and great for a coffee through the day too!

Bit Disappointed. Called in for quick lunch with the Mrs - We ordered the Bielsa Bagel and the Creme Cheese with Salmon Bagel, a pop and a Cappuccino. The Salmon one was fine and quite Tasty, the Bielsa one was fine but a bit bland and not really value for money as light on the filling. Don't mind £8 on a Bagel if its worth it but this wasn't really value for money. Nice surroundings and service but just not enough for the money.

Had a fantastic time at Cafe Deli Margaux's Farsley shopkeeper's and business's evening get together, with a superb selection of delicious dishes that just kept coming all evening, I would definitely recommend a visit, five stars thank you.

Love the place and the food on an evening. I have been quite a few times now. My only request would be to keep the coffee machine running in the evening as it would finish off the meal nicely.

Popped in today for a lunchtime sandwich, ended up getting a cake and coffee too. Lovely Cafe, nice staff and the food was fantastically fresh and excellent quality.

Myself and my partner had a lovely evening on Sat sampling the delightfully tasty tapas menu, this was of course accompanied by some wine and other drinks, rude not to! The service matched up to the food, as the whole Margaux team are really friendly and very passionate about what they do. We will definitely return as to top off the food and service, it's very reasonably priced too. We've had breakfast here as well, and would highly recommend that as well.

My partner and I had such an amazing time in Cafe Deli Margaux and enjoyed early bird meal which contains a bottle of wine, a Charcuterie Board and 5 tapas dishes. Very cosy environment and nice service. Will definitely return for a brunch with my dog next time. Thanks for presenting such an amazing cafe & restaurant in the heart of Farsley.

This place really is a hidden gem. An impromptu visit for Friday night tapas and we were not disappointed! The sharing board was plentiful and the tapas delicious. Really fantastic quality, tasty and beautifully presented. The service was also excellent. I can see this place becoming very popular as word gets out!

It's a nice place. The atmosphere is good, the servers and staff seem friendly and efficient. It's not the cheapest place but you get what you pay for so it's all good. Minor niggles are it can feel a little cramped at times, and some of the tables need replacing as they have an odd varnish on them that makes them feel slightly sticky sometimes.

Was not expecting anything special. What a fabulous surprise, great food, good service, on the whole a very pleasurable experience. Visited a michelin restaurant last week and this was a much better experience, hard to put into words just how good this place is

We visited on a Friday evening. All the food is amazing, we would personally recommend the tapas,the best we have had in a long time☺️ a highlight being the salt and pepper calamari! I have visited cafe deli Margaux a number of times for their bistro night following a friends recommendation. I can honestly say, being a tapas aficionado, we had the some of the best tapas we have had in a long time. The staff were all amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. It was a 10 out of 10 evening and we will definitely be back! (Party of 6 sat in one of their lovely booths).

Fantastic! Popped in for lunch today and had wonderful service right from when we came in. We had the daily special pate and it was absolutely delicious. Great coffee and Virgin Mary and cakes were amazing. All the staff were really lovely, warm and welcoming. You can really tell that they love what they do and are passionate about their produce. We stumbled across this cafe and we’re so glad that we did. I wish this small business every success as they really deserve it. Wonderful hospitality and everything we ordered was perfect. Look forward to going back :)

After celebrating my 30th birthday in Barcelona, I had belated celebrations here to continue the Spanish tapas theme and it was amazing! Incredible food, friendly staff and quick service! The decorations gave the evening a special touch and some of the dishes were better than I had in Barcelona!! Would highly recommend Cafe Margaux to anybody.

What a lovely place for some lunch 🥗. I had a very nice omelette with ham,tomatoes and caramelised red onion chutney (yummy) and a flat white coffee ☕️.
