Just had Boxing Day lunch, a set Indian meal at The Tree and it was excellent.

My cousin had the wake for his wife there and the food was appalling the sandwiches that were provided were egg and tomato on white and brown bread cheese sandwiches on brown and white bread chips and sides dishes . The sandwiches were put on a serving dish and were not cut all the way through so it was very messy to try and pick up a sandwhich and he paid a lot of money for this service he was so disappointed that he left early because he felt unwell but i think it was because he was embarrassed It gave me the impression that they couldn't have cared less .I have never written a review like this but I have never seen my cousin as upset as this

The room was massively outdated. They really make it look nice on the pictures but I feel like I was living in the 1960's. I had the first room as soon as you come up the stairs. The stairs can be taken by anyone in the pub or restaurant, so as a woman travelling on her own, I was really scared and uncomfortable that someone could easily come to my room and try and get in. The bathroom had black mould on the ceiling. The carpet had black marks where there must've been water build up. Breakfast isn't served till 8:30am which is too late as I had to meet a friend for the half marathon this weekend. This room was NOT worth £80. Never again.

Sunday lunch buffet. Nice food but none of the dishes were labelled. Waiters could be more attentive, they just seemed to hover. Had to call them over for drinks and desert menue. Not once we're we ask if the food was OK.

Fine for 1 night, don't expect too much of it. The breakfast isn't much but it's fine. +-40 minutes walk to the center of Oxford, nice route along the Thames.

Do not book!!! Booked direct with the hotel and requested an email confirmation. 3 emails and 4 (unanswered) phone calls but no response. The hotel is badly in need of some TLC and a deep clean but the large bed was nice. We were told on the evening of our stay that there wouldn't be any breakfast as there was no chef, but they could provide sandwiches and cereal. We had no option but to agree. The following morning we went to find the promised "breakfast" but the place was empty...no staff...no guests....deserted! We called the posted "emergency" number but no reply!!! Follow up texts stated they had a "no refund" policy. Simply awful service from a very disappointing hotel.

I'm glad we only had to stay one night because it is truly a very old, broken down hotel with a bar. It was quite noisy from the bar that was right underneath our room. It was quite dirty and lots of things were broken. I'm glad we were there in summer, since the window couldn't really be closed properly.

Initially I felt weary of staying at this hotel, however after staying there my opinion concurred. The Indian restaurant was delicious. And staff was friendly. However the rooms could use some renovations. It’s very old and looks like things are falling apart in the room. And the water pressure in the shower is non existent. But the bed sheets and towels were clean.

Every Sunday visit feels like going home. Impeccable service and staff. Sunday lunch today was excellent! Although it was very quiet and only a few diners, server Mohammed and Chef Ahmed provided the usual welcoming and friendly service. The food was perfectly cooked, using fresh ingredients bursting with a fusion of both Asian and English dishes of choice and flavours. There is also an extensive bar menu choice throughout the week too. The venue is always a spotlessly clean and organised environment, together with ample seating indoors. The garden area is always very well kept and also has additional sheltered areas, leading out to an onsite car park with adequate designated spaces for the disabled. There are often very well attended music events together with live bands throughout the month. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon 😀

Lights above bathroom mirror didn't work neither did table lamp, hairdryer or shaving socket. Shower gel dispenser empty. No toilet roll holder. Shower had no pressure. Staff unfriendly, seemed happier to ignore us. Breakfast a joke. No selection of herbal teas. Hard poached eggs and cold white toast slammed on table by very surly waitress. An overall very disappointing experience.

Food was great, that's about all I can share that's positive about the place. It was a bit further out of the way than I realised but the taxi service was excellent.

Room was a disgrace. Absolutely foul, dirty, dated to the point of historic. The noise level from the below floor was absolutely horrendous. Staff were extremely rude and confrontational. Door looked as if it'd been kicked in many times previously, and the only door lock was hanging loose. Avoid avoid avoid!!

Wallpaper hanging off and put back on by tape Heater not working Shower was awful Kept awake by people shouting and loud loud music coming from downstairs Cobwebs everywhere with multiple spiders Felt moist and horrible In the room of which I am now ill. We paid for dinner prior to stay and then got charged for dinner again saying the offer only applied to one person when it didn't and they offered us a free meal of which we already paid for. Poor customer service, management didn't want to know or do anything to satisfy our needs. Communication between hotel staff was abysmal So unorganised I've seen better conditions on I'm a celebrity get me out of here!

I have eaten here many times over many years. The atmosphere has always been reliably relaxing, with attentive and responsive service from a myriad of bar staff. Dog-friendly. Love the varied and imaginative vegeterian menu - never had the same thing twice, though i'd eat everything i've had again (and again!). One tiny comment from my most recent visit: thought the food was a smidgen over-salty (and the rest of my group said the same). Maybe new chef? Maybe 'winter' taste psychology? Whatever the reason, i'll probably request less salt next time to make sure! Photo taken from a nearby carpark, flooded at the time due to weather, but great fun for dogs and nice view from a post-Punter-nosh walk!

I was expecting a bit more if a selection here and some of the baguettes didn’t have as much filling as other prets I’ve visited. However the food still looked good Staff were friendly and helpful at the till.

My son and I stopped for lunch here before heading to the theatre for a matinee. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. The person who served us was very friendly and we definitely plan to return before our next theatre visit.

The vanilla crepe brûlée with mango was absolutely beautiful. My husband had the sticky toffee pudding which he said was amazing. The cauliflower soup was lovely and portions of all food was excellent
