Had a lovely breakfast wrap 2 wraps and 2 drinks less than £10. The landlord came out and made a fuss of my dogs and then went off and made them all scrambled egg.. Wow definately a loved place by the pooches no wonder they drag me in 😁 for a coffee stop on a walk ❤️❤️

Came here and the staff were friendly but the food is not good, I ordered the Mediterranean seabass and it was rubbish the 'garlic mash' was cold. It was supposed to have mixed veg it was rock hard peas thats not mixed. And the sauce was what you put with pasta. Gone home hungry was rank.

We ordered our food at the bar and within 10 minutes our food arrived. The 12oz steak was cooked but the chips peas and sauce were cold .that was the same as the mini mixed grill. Then we had also ordered chicken new yorker and a mac n cheese with fries. They came but mac n cheese was as a side order not a main meal. They took away the first 2 meals and recooked them also the mac n cheese. The steak came back well done and was tough I was unable to eat it. The other 2 meals came back warm not hot. We shall not be returning here. We are locals and we will be finding elsewhere to eat next time. Also there was no check back on the re cooked meals as the staff didn't seem bothered. Very very disappointed regulars.

We visited The Trawl today Sunday, we visit most weeks, Today we were looked after by MANDY who went over and above looking after us,MANDY alwaysgoes the extra to make sure we enjoy our visit.. The food today was well cooked and nice and hot which is not aways the case.

We (4 adults and 1 child, 7yr old) came this year for Christmas dinner. We booked as soon as the bookings opened and looked forward to it! Having never eaten out for Christmas dinner, it felt like a real treat and a treat it was indeed!! We were greeted on arrival and shown to our table which was set up lovely. We were then brought our welcome drinks very quickly. Our starters arrived within good time. 3 of us had smoked salmon, which was delicious. 1 of us had duck rolls and the 7 year old in our party had garlic bread. Everyone enjoyed their starters. Main course arrived. 2 of us had a Christmas dinner. It was a massive plate full! Turkey, 3 Yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, carrots, cabbage, sprouts, parsnips, red cabbage, stuffing, cauliflower cheese and gravy. Our 7 year old had the same but smaller plate full. The other 2 adults had steak with chips, mushrooms, onion rings and peas - again a big plate full. Steak was huge!! Everyone said it was all very tasty. For pudding, 2 of us had gingerbread cheesecake which was scrummy, 1 had lemon tart which was lovely and the Christmas pudding went down well too. 7 year old had chocolate brownie and ice cream. The whole experience was fantastic. I like the fact that they didn’t squeeze extra tables in to try and get more people in. It wasn’t rushed in the slightest but also didn’t take too long to be served each course. It was all very relaxed. All of the food was very tasty. And it was so nice not to be cleaning up afterwards. So much less stressful! We will definitely be getting booked in again for next year as soon as we can. The one and only negative that we have from the afternoon is that there was far too much food on the plate which I’m sure would have lead to a whole lot of wastage, which is such a shame. I wonder if maybe it would be worthwhile to offer 2 sizes of meals - a regular and a large. We would be happy to pay the same price as we did this year but for a smaller portion. Looking forward to spending Christmas dinner at The Trawl again in 2024!! (Only took a photo of my starter and kids main - forgot to take photos of the rest!)

Amazing service, Amy and Harriet are absolute angels got to us so quick and made our trawl experience 10x better!

Great pub, met up with family and had a lovely time. Amy behind the bar who served us was so friendly and polite, she was lovely! I had a couple of questions about the menu for one of our table who is vegetarian and Amy was so patient and attentive, nothing was too much trouble, she was a real joy! We had good food, enjoyed the quiz which was on too. It was overall a really good night. Will definitely be coming back.

Absolute disgrace! The list of bad anomalies is very long to mention. The `cooks` have no idea how to serve and cook a meal. The three cheese mac was NOT three cheese. A handful of cheap pasta coated with a plain (barely cheese) sauce is not good. No packing of pigs - just obviously one broken up on top. What constitutes `Christmas` salad was just a normal chopped salad. No garic prawns served with the Steak, and no Christmas slaw; just bought in slaw. No Orange liquere ice cream served with the `tough` choc fudge cake. (Microwaved too long probably). All in all a travesty of food - waste.

Service was terrible, food took forever to come despite asking two separate staff members. The food was actually expect burnt onion rings, but the drink had to be topped up as head

Was greeted on entry by a passing waitress, young and blonde. Ordered through the app which was quick and easy to do, drinks came fairly fast. Waitress that greeted us came over to let us know there was a 30 minute wait which you don’t know ordering through the app so appreciate that she let us know but was happy to wait. Food was lovely and was asked if our meals were ok. Young waitress also said goodbye to us as we left. Very pleasant experience

Came in for food with some friends, food was great came out hot, wasn’t waiting too long for food bar service was pretty fast can’t go wrong

First day the venue is back open and what a welcome we have received! Brought my mum out for dinner and the staff couldn’t have been anymore upbeat and helpful! Covid measures are still in place which was comforting, 100% will be returning! Food was AMAZING as always.Thank you for a lovely meal!

Came here a few days ago for some dinner and a drink after. We’re seated right away and asked to order via the app, I had trouble using it but the young bar maid helped me with this. All the staff were wearing masks so me and my family felt safe as we had our older parents with us. The food came all at the same time and it was delicious (especially the steak)! Will be visiting again soon

Very friendly staff, quick service, the food was great decent sized portions really quite cheap (curry Wednesday was great the meat was melt in the mouth)

I came in with the missus to watch Everton batter Brighton and we got a nice clean booth with a private screen with the match on. I ordered a steak and she ordered a burger and both were fantastic. Been here a few times now so thought I’d leave a review because it’s been outstanding every time. Shoutout to that to the chef who is always on when I eat here the one with the beard who used to work at maccies. Also the covid safety measures were spot on and they don’t all get on their high horse like everywhere else does. 3 points for the blues, food was spot on and staff were lovely. Would recommend.

Came into the trawl with a few friends, the service was excellent and the the food was great as usual! All the staff where so friendly!

Came on a Monday with my family, got seated.Had to ask for menus as didn't have the app. Waited ages for someone to come over to take a drinks order, no one came over so I decided to go to the bar. Found most of the staff sitting on the round sofa in front of the bar and which looked like a manager, as I asked for someone to come take our order she said someone will be over soon. The table next to us finished and left, this table was not cleared the whole 2 hours we were there, nor the table behind us, it's like the staff didn't want to do anything on this particular day.Food was great, can't fault it. Was cooked well, hot and delicious.Asked someone to take our dessert order as again was waiting ages once out plates were cleared (had to ask for them to be cleared too)15mins into ordering our desserts I asked a young lady how long they were going to be and she replied. I'll do them now for you, as if they hadn't even started them.Extremely disappointed in the service, the lack of team work, the unwelcoming vibe and overall, we won't be returning.

I visited the trawl on Friday teatime with my daughter, we ordered on the app to save moving about round the restaurant to much due to the corona virus, we both ordered burgers which looked lovely, I had the southern fried chicken burger, when I tried to cut it it was solid, and I mean solid, I’m guessing it was left in the fryer a bit to long, I asked a member of staff to have a look, he said would you like me to take it back to the kitchen , I said yes please, two minutes later another member of staff came out and said we will do you another one but it’s cooked at a set temperature so it might come out the same, I was a bit gobsmacked and just said ok, when it came out it was ok, my issue is the staff comment about coming back the same, I work in a restaurant and would never tell my customer there food that was over cooked the first time, might come out the same!!!

Come here all the time as it’s my local, amazing staff and quick service. Great system in place after lockdown and I couldn’t thank the establishment anymore for keeping us all safe, whilst still supplying us a great time. Keep up the good work x

Ten of us had food at 3pm on a Monday afternoon.Everything from entry to exit was perfect.Every meal was fantastic as were the varying drinks we had too.Service from the staff was top notch and polite.My meal, chicken skewers was amazing.Even the youngster in our party was full of praise for his pizza and corn cob.We will return without hesitation, hooegully not to far in the future.Thankyou Trawl for a truly great afternoon..

This restaurant is a must go to!! From perfect communication skills with customers to their outstanding food of all varieties.When needing help prier to our visit, with quick response on their Facebook Helping in every way we needed and more. Best family restaurant in the area, and would 100% recommend to all..

Had a lovely family meal last night, staff were very friendly and attentive. Service was great and food was spot on. Lovely evening out overall and very impressed with new social distancing measures and cleanliness. Only downside would be the blinds in the raised area of the pub didn't keep the sun out my eyes but that wouldn't put me off going again at all.

just visited this for a friday meal. After bout an hour food arrived, been on hotplate for 30mins all dried out absolutley disgusting.

Decided it was time to brave the world again for a family meal out. Very pleased we decided to go with the Trawl! Everything was well organised, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and explained the new procedures well. Menu all looked amazing, and we were all extremely pleased with our choices. We ordered via the app which was mostly straightforward and food was with us incredibly quickly and was piping hot. We will definitely be back again!

We have been to The Trawl today for a family meal. This is the first time we have been out since March. We were pleased with the safety measure put into place. I felt very comfortable and at ease with how the manager and staff handled the ‘new normal’ we will definitely be returning very soon

Popped out for a few drinks and a meal with the wife. Ordered starters and mains. The food came out very quickly and was delicious. All the staff couldn't do enough to help the new manager has worked wonders in the short time she has been there. Looking forward to our next visit. Thankyou to all off the friendly staff.

This pubs come a long way since the new year the new manager has done wonders the team are happier and it’s such a nicer experience all it needs is a refurb to bring it into the modern age

Ok, now I expect these pub chains to offer the usual pub grub and don’t expect a la carte but on this occasion, a family celebration, not only was the service terrible but the food was shocking! I ordered the chicken baguette. The bread was part cooked and chicken looked boiled. I don’t understand how a kitchen that more than likely relies on a microwave can get this wrong. My family, bar 2 (table of 8) thought the food was awful so it wasn’t just me. What the food lacked in quality made up for in quality but too much of a bad thing is never great. The staff were wondering around aimlessly with plates of food obviously no idea where it was going to (I thought when you gave table numbers at order is was a no brainier?) I will never eat here again. Now I’m a pub grub kinda person but this was the stuff that needed Gordon Ramsey kitchen nightmares to come into. I’ve left 2 reviews in my whole life and sadly both of these have been The Trawl. I didn’t learn the first time :-(

Weekly visit. Excellent food and coffee as usual. Only downside they don’t have slimline bitter lemon, only tonic.

in the last 5 weeks my wife & I have called in to have a meal & a drink ,straight from work arriving at 5-10 pm and again can not get seated due to 11 tables been reserved this has happend 4 times out of the 5 visits the time we got seated it was pouring down.walked out again tonight straight to the cricketers. Won't be going back. CRAP RESERVATION SYSTEM.????????

Popped in the trawl for some dinner as it’s my birthday and I didn’t want to cook ,we both ordered a Serloin steak one medium and one medium rare and they were both cooked to perfection we really enjoyed it we will be back.the two young ladies at the bar we’re very nice and very polite.

I will start my review by saying, the place was nicely decorated with local art, had a nice ambience, comfy seating. And the music was at the right level so you could hear what was going on around you. I ordered my food and drink at the bar by a waitress that was I'll informed of the menu, I then sat myself down at a table that was not cleaned. Food was super fast it arrived within 7 mins of me sitting down, it was hot and very nice. I do believe because of what I observed that the only reason I got a check back was because other people were served near to me. It took 35 mins for my empty plates to be cleared. I was not offered more drinks or encouraged to have a dessert. I sat for a while longer wondering how long pots on other tables that had been vacated were gonna be there. Also thee was not a table wiped while I was sat there. I went to the toilets which were nice and clean, but alas the windows are at eye level and festering with black mould.. I ordered tea and dessert when my dessert the waitress placed it away from me without speaking and put my spoon at arm's length away from me.. there was a few things ordered that were not available. But apologies were given for that.. I did enjoy my visit but the little things sometimes count.. customer service and staff training would go so far

A good selection of food &drinks; at affordable prices,in a good friendly atmosphere,& the service is very quick & they come round again once you have started eating to see if everything is to your satisfaction.

Went in last night (Sat) at 5pm - more than half of the tables were reserved ( and remained so with no one occupying them for the hour and half we were in there). Saw many people walk in and then walk out due to this. Managed to find Table 1 right next to bar which was not ideal. Meals came quickly- one was OK but the tiny gammon steak was 50% fat and swimming in some oily liquid.

Extensive menu and kids options. Top quality food and fed 2 adults and 1 child for £20. I have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed.

Very nice grills nice and tasty served quickly and hot go quite regular.They offer specials deals daily at reduced prices which helps with the budget.

Visited The Trawl with friends for a meal and drinks , I can say that the meals that we ordered came well presented and hot , but why is it that whenever I have visited this place they always seem under staffed on the bar , I know that the manager will be under certain restrictions from the brewery or ops manager , but its so under staffed being the bar that everybody that was waiting were moaning between themselves about the wait ,

We went for new year Eve meal, the meals was fantastic the starters was lovely had mushroom and samon & prawns, mains again lovely had samon and Christmas dinner and the billion chocolate bar for dessert we visit regular and best meals we have had in there. Was really happy with food service and friendly staff

After the Christmas dinner at The Jug and Bottle yesterday The Trawl had a lot to live to and to be fair it did very well. For starters we had 2 patès and salmon and prawns that were great and actually better than yesterday. The mains were two Christmas dinners and a festive burger. The two Christmas dinners were excellent while the festive burger was like eating a chicken big mac, the first bite was strange and unfamiliar (this is because it had cranberry sauce) but as you eat you start to enjoy more and more. For Desserts we had cheese and biscuits, profiteroles and the billionaire bar which were all great as well. The only that let The Trawl down was the service as it wasn't very organized although this is understandable considering that they also have to care for drinkers and people ordering from the regular menu. We were really lucky this year to have two excellent meals in successive days.

Enjoyed a very good All Day Breakfast. Well cooked, hot; plenty of it, plus toast- maybe overdid the hash browns - two better than three. A notable absentee was black pudding! Altogether, a satisfactory meal.

Thought I'd try the festive pie as its Christmas wish I hadn't,pie didn't have much init and was hard pastry and mash potatoe was dry around the edges. Kids had adult burgers with over cooked fries so they didn't eat any. No check back!!

The food at the trawl is always good, well cooked and excellent value. All the staff work very hard and do everything they can to make sure you enjoy yourselves. Plenty of Sport on Sky for sports fans next to the lounge. What more do you want?

Never enough staff behind the bar slow service I visit this pub often and its always the same it's not rocket science its tea time it's going to be busy the staff behind the bar are great and friendly when they eventually get round to serving you .. my biggest disappointment is when your waiting at the bar to get severd and someone orders a coffee O MY DAYS thats a 5 minute job on it's own.. waiting again no staff behind the bar ?

Came here after not visiting for a while. The food was amazing - hot, cooked well, tasty and huge portions. Very friendly staff and will definitely be returning.

First time here for festive meal although the food was good we had requested a booth and been told we had one only to find on arrival that we didn't, due to spinal problems for one of our party this was a better place to sit for a long time . They did offer us a booth when one became free but it was right next to the toilets , as we were eating a 3 course meal we declined

Me and my partner went today for tea. We had burger and chips each, including a Diet Coke and it came to £10.49! Really happy with the price and the food came quickly, all the staff were so lovely. Will definitely be visiting again. Food was lovely and the restaurant was very clean!

Out for tea with my husband and my food was burnt to a crisp, it wasnt worth the money that we paid for it and I wont be going again. I wont recommend this venue to anyone else either

I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy at the moment, it's a place I've used regularly for a long time and every food menu which comes out the standard becomes worse and worse and is now the standard you dont bother. Also with it being close by, no way would you dream of going for a drink in the place as you just wouldn't get 1. To be fair to the staff who work in the place they are far too overworked (and also very nice) as the place seems to be understaffed by at least 3 people every day. This place should be brilliant but needs some management which can make it worth it to peoplw, without coming out with a bad/frustrated feeling. I'd love to love the place plenty of potential with a bit of thought.

Yet again we had lovely meal. The offers are great too. Good quick service. Becky who took out order was lovely and made us welcome. Defo be going again.

Great huge meals very reasonably priced do different specials every day of the week but would advice to book if there is a few of you going as gets very busy wasn't long waiting for meal considering how busy it was well organised waiting on staff lovely and help full brilliant for a great tea out

Feed came to table cold after 35 minutes of waiting when was meant to be a sizzling platter.. Grandson had pizza where the cheese had not fully melted.. Reported it to waitress she's aid she let them know and never returned back to the table

We came for a spot of lunch, we had the Bombay burger and it was delicious, the service was friendly and helpful and we will definitely return to this restaurant

Very much a family orientated pub. Basic menu and wine menu. Pleasant outside seating area and good service.

Amazing value for money, excellent portions and lovely food. Plenty of options. All staff friendly and provide an extra touch to a great experience.

Food service was limited as several things on menu was unavailable and the one thing we did order being a pizza was undercooked.

Came hear on Tuesday I had chicken skewers which where rubbery and over cooked it was like they where cooked before hand and warmed up my husband had cooked breakfast bacon was over cooked we haven’t been for few moths due to having a rubbish meal will not be visiting again

Good service...staff were polite and showed us easier ways to save money at the restaurant....The food was also great..full of flavour and hot waitress was very polite when giving food and gave clear awknolwagements to us if there was a problem.

Went for a friends birthday meal last Saturday. Had a table booked for 8pm, though on arrival took more than 5 mins of being ignored at bar before we got to ask which table was ours despite being only ones waiting. Was then told we would have to be out by 9:30 as their licence re the kids ran out then. At the time we didn't think that would be a problem but it would have been nice to be told when booking. Despite the place being less than half full there was a queue to order food and it took ages to be served, so long in fact that the first of us to order got our food before the last had even finished placing their order. This kind of ruined the meal as we didn't get to eat together. We had even said we were together when placing our orders. The kids did not get their pudding until just before 9:30 despite ordering it at same time as the main and reminding staff at 9:15 that they'd said they wanted us out for 9:30. Food was nothing special just standard pub grub and the 'surf' that came with the 'turf' was the 4 smallest pieces of scampi I've ever seen. Staff were polite just very slow and disorganised behind the bar. Wouldn't bother going again and I'd hate to see how long the queue gets when it's actually busy!

Decided to go for tea on Friday as we hadn’t been her for a long time, arrived 4.30ish and it was busy. What was annoying was so many tables marked ‘reserved ‘ but all the time we were there no one sat at them, so we had to sit at a table that wasn’t really cleaned but we sorted it. It was really noisy with a group of people being very loud and when we ordered our food my mum asked for ear plugs because she couldn’t hear the lady behind the bar!!

we go there up tp 3 times a week for meals and a drink. The food is reailsticly priced, and the menu has a good variety of meals to suit anyone.

A really lovely evening at the trawl last night. The food was well cooked and delivered in good time. Drinks were wide ranging with a good selection of gins.

my brother and I and the 2 wives visited the Trawl Pub in Yarborough road Grimsby for lunch we had a 40% voucher in our back pocket .My brother and I had the large mixed grill and the ladies had the small one both the meals were very well cooked and really tasty,we all had drinks my brother and I had Abbots ale and my wife had a glass of wine.although the pub was busy we did not have long to wait for our food the bill for the whole meal and drinks came to £34 great value highly recomend this pub

We often go to the hungry horse in hessle so we visited here when we were in the area visiting friends. The pub was clean and the service was very good. We ordered off the Monday deal steak menu and all the steaks came out just as we ordered.

Had a lovely birthday meal here today. Food arrived quickly and was tasty. We were served by Karen and she was really friendly throughout having a laugh and a joke. Will definetley be back!!!!!

Bar staff stood talk and not servings and my meahad just come to the table other barmaid asked if she was serving then I got served but meal had cooled down

We went in for the Sunday Roast 2 for £10, wow we were certainly impressed, plenty of it beef was tender. Very tasty, we will be going back.

Having used this place for meals with family before going away to work was rather disappointing with the standard of service and attitude of some of the staff
