Prices are a little high for what you get compared to other ice cream parlours we have visited when it comes to the cones. The carpark and outdoor area is looking a little run down and could do with some tlc. But overall a nice ice cream so worth the drive out for a visit.

Love blyton ice-cream fond memories as a kid. However, this visit wasn't great it was very busy but there was no one cleaning tables had to ask a young lad who just looked right through me. Eventually another young lad came and did it. Ordered food when my order came only half came another 20 mins until the second half of my order came. I'm hoping this is just a one off due to how busy it was.

Took half an hour, to get an ice cream.Another half hour wait for drinks and a snack mostly young kids on minimum wage.Did not seem to know what they were doing .Asked a member of staff to have a look at kiddie machine s to retrieve two pounds that we put in got nothing for them .No one bothered to come and have a look got so fed up waiting just left.Wont be going back there again! very overcrowded tables to close together could hardly move !

Massively overrated and synthetic tasting ice creams and what pass for sorbets - the 'raspberry flavour' (definitely not FLAVOURED) one put me in mind of raspberry-flavour childhood medicines. Anywhere serving that many flavours that take in daft ones like Jaffa Cake, Trinity Blue, and Jelly Bear should probably be avoided... Coffee (espresso) was pretty poor too - watery, and no decaf available. I'm sure this place used to be a lot better!

Excellent choice, food arrived very quickly and was super hot. Then had icecream for dessert. The staff were all lovely and friendly. The cafe/restaurant was very clean. Definitely will be returning

Had a pensioner special today (fish & chips) it was beautiful, staff friendly (21st march)

Always clean, staff are polite and professional. The ice cream is absolutely delicious and there are dozens of flavours to choose from.

Great ice-cream, a large selection of flavours and great value.

Visited for ice cream with my 2 year old granddaughter. It was late afternoon and no other customers inside or queuing. I got my granddaughter a chair so she could stand on to choose her treat. I got the impression the lady behind the counter wasn’t impressed that my granddaughter was choosing. After deciding she put the ice cream in the tub , and I asked my granddaughter if she wanted sprinkles. I gave her a choice from the sprinkles displayed to let her choose. When I looked up the woman had chosen for her and was handing over the ice cream!!!! She did offer another, but lady allowing children to choose for themselves teaches responsibility, it’s confidence building, empowering, makes them feel valued and fosters creativity. So please allow little ones to make their choices !!!

Some great flavours this year Young lad serving was helpful took his time, to get things rote even though was a bit busy

Visited on a Sunday, ‘manager’ behind the counter inside couldn’t be less welcoming if she tried. Sunday afternoon so not busy. Inside kids corner was filthy. Ice creams are very good but wouldn’t recommend purely due to the bad attitude of the staff

Used to have a local shop for this place where the service was good and they went out of their way to look after you. Now the local branch has closed we have to go to the main place and service is not as good. Service was steady , and portions seem smaller than before. Cram on top was more runny than whipped and no wafer

The service was fantastic. We had some food out of the cafe which was very tasty, and finished it off with an ice cream. Very polite and helpful staff. We were made to feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend Blyton ice cream for food and ice cream

Needed a cleaning cloth over the tables, land rover for the car park pot holes.

First visit. Nice food. Near our new caravan seasonal pitch site, so I am sure we will be visiting quite often. Would be rude not too.

Lovely food, friendly service, great prices.

Only went in for a cup of tea and ended up having ham eggs and homemade chips for £8. The food was amazing and delicious. It's gotten such a big place and there were lots of people already in it. Highly recommend

Blyton Ice Cream is award winning, and rightly so. The choice of flavours available is incredible, and the quality is second to none. We visited on a miserable Saturday afternoon in January. As most will know, in the summer the queues for a cone are quite long, but you don’t mind the wait as the queue moves along at a good pace, and the reward is worth the wait. However, being a miserable January afternoon, there was only a few waiting to be served, but we decided to dine in and have our ice cream on a waffle. Again, only a couple of tables were occupied, so we soon got seated and looked at the menu, which is always a waste of time for me as I always choose the good old faithful Caramel & Butterscotch with Chocolate Fudge, on a waffle with sprinkles and brownie pieces. My wife had a waffle also, half and half with Banoffee and Eton Mess. My eldest son had a sundae boat with chocolate and also Caramel & Butterscotch, and my youngest had a novelty cup with vanilla ice cream. As I’ve said, the shop wasn’t busy, and there were plenty of staff on. We went to the counter to be served, and 4 members of staff carried on about their business as though we wasn’t there. One lady eventually said I’m serving at the front, but I’ll take your order. She started to take the order before she then disappeared to the front to continue serving those waiting outside. She then came back and asked another member of staff to continue with our order. Once everything was taken down and paid for, we returned to our seats. Now I know the waffles are made to order, but I’m sure they don’t take long to make, but we were waiting quite a while. My wife’s came out first along with my son’s sundae, then a short while later my youngests ice cream was brought out. No sign of mine. The three of them had eaten the majority of theirs before mine was brought over. I may sound grumpy, but in my opinion on a quite day, service should have ran smoother and should have been brought out together, had it have been busy I’d of understood, but they wasn’t. Having said all this, all was delicious, well presented and plenty of it. So the reason for this review is in hope that staff communicate a bit better between themselves to help get people served better.

Been going to Blyton since it opened in a small shed 1985. Now live in Dorset but visit everytime I'm visiting my mum in Scunthorpe. Nothing as good down here!!!

Brilliant little place it was late in the day but nothing was too much for the lady that served us and worth every penny

Look; what is there NOT to love about Blyton?

Great cafe and ice cream parlour. They have an extensive range of ice creams ( not tried but looked good) and a long menu of hot and cold foods. The pannini and omelette were very nice along with the tea and coffee. Once ordered the food was served swiftly by pleasant and helpful staff. Only a 3* for service as we waited ( the only people waiting) to place our order at the counter for 5 minutes before being attended to - the member of staff was stood 2m away talking to other guests while we stood there - not a good look, particularly our party spent not far short of £100!

Normally I don't have a problem with the slow service but today my food didn't turn up at all, mum and hubby's came together with our drinks, the girl gave me a knife and fork but I sad I'm having croffle and ice cream so she brought me a fork and spoon, and I waited, another couple came in and ordered full breakfasts and I waited, then there food came out, by this time mum and hubby had finished and my coffee was cold, so I called the lady over and asked where mine was, to be told o we forgot to put the waffle pan on we will do it now, no point I said they have finished there's and my coffee is cold so she sent the young girl over with my money back. if it was busy as it often is I wouldn't of mined but there was only 5 of us in there

Good variety and good value and price

It's got to be one of my favourite places for ice cream and other food and drink

First visit here. It was very busy, most tables were reserved, they had a birthday party on, which looked like they offered great entertainment, all the children seemed happy enough. We planned to eat outside anyway and it was lovely, the paninis are very filling, and the chips were amazing, we could have actually just shared the one! They dont have ham and cheese panini on the menu but it wasnt a problem for them to make me one anyway. And of course the ice cream, was absolutely delicious, I never find banana ice cream anywhere but there it was, a lovely combo with chocolate. We are all still very full!! Will definitely visit again.

Not been here for a few years Lot better now

A reasonably regular visitor here with a bunch of friends and having sampled half a dozen flavours of ice cream, various cakes and a full English breakfast it's fair to say I've never had a bad experience. It's all really good and the staff are lovely. Always pleasant and polite and keep it together when clearly there's a rush on and they're pushed. We will keep going back forore.

Great ice cream but that staff are so miserable and moody and it’s so off putting. Need to be trained on how to crack a smile. Same every time we’ve been. Massively brings the place down for us. Be warned!

Friendly staff but above all fantastic ice cream. My favourite rum and raisins was sublime.

Great ice cream, and unbelievable choice.

If you like chips with everything, this is the cafe for you. No real nutritional food available. The entrance path to the cafe could do with a good sweep up. Ingredients in the ice cream weren't readily available. I had emailed for the details but didn't receive a response. I wanted to check as I don't eat artificial sweeteners, colouring and emulsifiers.

Ice cream good but now very expensive, outdoor areas looking shabby and worn.

This place was once amazing. They've slowly reduced the quality to a point ill not use them as a delivery service ever again. If you go there its still not bad but i wouldn't advice trying to get food delivered from here anymore. Portion sizes have reduced massively to a point it's not worth it. Well done to all concerned, I hope its made you proud.

Since I was there last ( a years as passed since then) there is a children's play area, a crazy golf cause small tables and benches outside it looks like a table tennis 🏓🎾 court which is nice, there is a cafe/ restaurant inside ( I have never been inside) a big car park and last thing their 🍨🍦 cream is absolutely lovely.

Friendly Staff Good meal worth a visit.

When we visited a lot of flavours were unavailable which was disappointing. Staff looked like they couldn't wait to leave.

14/09/23 Lovely ice cream. I was waiting a while to be served ! I was the only person at the takeaway bit at the front! The young lady who eventually served me had a bad attitude and took her time , she saw me stood waiting but didn’t even acknowledge me! She was too busy loitering and chatting away to her friend there. She didn’t even smile. Sort your customer service out please!

Went to sit in at the restaurant for coffee and cake and ice creams. The lady serving us was very rude and grumpy! Very few ice cream flavours available and this same lady dropped a cardboard pot on the floor and picked it up to use! Advertise up to 60 flavours of ice cream but not available. Won't rush back!

Loved it. Blyton Ice Cream is a reasonably sized cafe themed around its vast ice cream offerings. There are a few other Blyton Ice cream locations on Google maps. Identified by the brown tourist sign, this ice cream parlour is located on the main road through Blyton and has plenty of parking available at the rear. The cafe area has lots of indoor and outdoor seating with menus at the tables, though you'll have to head to the counter to order. The decor is very comfortable and the feel of the place is reminiscent of the parish England I grew up in. The food is similar, Fish Finger sandwiches and very chunky chips are a must for the inner child, though they have plenty of other options. The ice cream is obviously where it's at here, so, they have a serious amount of choice, including gluten-free, vegan and dairy-free options. They really do have it covered. If you're disappointed, you're trying way too hard at life and need to slow down. I had sorbet, it was amazing, probably the best I've had recently. My colleagues assured me that the milkshakes and ice-cream were equally delicious. They certainly looked fantastic. The staff at Blyton made our visit lovely. They were attentive and able to accurately deal with fussy requests for changes to the food orders. The cafe was reasonably full, with clientele of varying ages, from young families to teenagers, to pensioners, all enjoying themselves. I heartily recommend Blyton Ice Cream and will be back again.

Lovely ice cream (huge number of choices) after a meal in the café. Ice cream definitely better than café food & some of the staff in the café need to cheer up! Toilets need some attention too. Large outdoor seating area available which was very welcome to escape large number of loud children indoors!!

Waited for too long to order drinks then one drink was not made as it should be so asked for it to be remade that took over ten minutes!!ordered food and one meal was served then 15 minutes later second meal served by which time first persons meal was consumed only two staff serving and rushed off their feet. Management need to take a look at this !!!

I'm here now girl behind counter in tears very short staffed we ate our food and are still waiting for our sons waffle which was ordered same time disappointed never been like this before

Ice cream is always lovely, picked a particularly busy day for our trip out, but the ice cream is always worth it.

Great range of flavours. Helpful staff. Dealt with allergies queries well and ensured cleanliness of equipment when serving to avoid cross contamination.

Disappointed in the fact that this time half the flavours we asked for they had run out of, considering how popular it is, I thought they would be on top of orders. Aside from that the ice cream flavours weanages to get were amazing.

Amazing ice cream, with the biggest selection of flavours to choose from. All the family were happy and we will be returning.

Not sure what the hype is with this ice cream. Went for the first time yesterday at the Gainsborough branch on our way home from a day trip that way , was really looking forward to a rum a raisin and black cherry twin come. Both my favourites flavours. Very disappointing , no chunks in either scoop no cherry's and no raisins just gooey runny Ice cream. We live close to shawbriggs , now that is what we call beautiful creamy chunky ice cream . Sadly won't return for the famous blytons. Pleasant efficient staff and pleasant ice cream parlour and surroundings just the ice cream was a real let down in our opinion. Sorry guys

An amazing range of ice creams!

Not well organised but the food was great

So many flavour choices of ice cream, the staff where very friendly.

Today was our first visit to this wonderful place at six in the evening - nice and quiet, very fast service and we ended up with three generously filled “medium” ice creams packed full of very tasty ice cream. The little boy in our party enjoyed his ice cream so much we will be heading back again tomorrow. Highly recommended.

Possibly the best ice cream in North Lincolnshire. You really are spoilt for choice as there are so many different flavours to choose from. We've been here before but we usually queue at the front for a cone, this time we had a Bananofee Bombe sat down in the seated area to the rear, highly recommended! There is a cafe inside too and it's wheelchair accessible. The outside area is pebbled and some parents with push chairs were struggling so maybe not recommended for wheelchairs. There is plenty of parking at the back too which is wheelchair accessible.

Lovely ice-cream and a huge selection to choose from

The ice cream tastes gorgeous however the star rating is due to the fact its a busy day in the school holidays and i ordered 4 trio ice creams. I could see the lady serving customers and asked how long ours would be and was told 3 were ready and she was working alone therefore had to stop doing my order to serve walk ins so by the time we got our trio desserts the ice cream was so soft and starting to melt

First visit to this place today. Eton Mess ice cream cornet. Going back tomorrow to try a different flavour !! Well worth a visit 🍧🍦

Delicious.....Great place staff friendly....waffles are amazing!

Popped in for a large full breakfast. Food spot on including the poached eggs which were cooked to perfection. Service great in a lovely family atmosphere. Food served very hot which gives it much more of a home made feel.

Enjoyed our visit very much. The food was lovely. Excellent friendly service and the ice cream was lush. Too many flavours to choose from lol. Will definitely return

Lovely ice-cream. And a few things for younger kids to play with while they wait.

The girl on the ice cream counter was reuse and not helpful at all. Telling me there wasn’t several flavours available yet my friends who were served by a nice young man who went in the back and brought out one of the flavours I had originally asked for!! She also gave me a flavour I didn’t ask for which I found out on my way back to my car. I emailed Blyton ice cream twice giving them chance to reply but have heard nothing which I find unacceptable considering the customer is the one paying g their wages!!!

Just the bezziest ice creams in the world...had an blackcurrant n liquorice double scoop in a massive Cornetto lookalike cone... and we clocked the flakes or mate it was absolutely banging.. just over a tenner for r lasses aswell well worth the drive aswell spot on

Please wear gloves or napkin to prepare our ice cream cones. The man behind the counter had been itching his head then playing on his phone before serving us, didn’t like the look of his hands touching our ice cream . Not very hygienic staff at Scunthorpe shop

Very nice they have everything I had a mixture of all different ice cream. They have tablets round the back aswell as parking.

Great place and the tastiest ice cream...been a favourite place of mine since I was a kid

We waited almost an hour for our order. We understand if you’re short-staffed or busier during the weekends, but please do something about it. An hour of waiting would not suffice for the hunger we feel for such a long wait. In fairness the food is worth the wait. We enjoyed the panini and all day breakfast.

Great ice cream, I have never seen so many different flavours to choose from including flavours of ice cream I didn’t know where available, I opted for cherry bakewell and it was delicious. Only downside is on a hot day it can get really busy.
