What a lovely place to eat our waitress beau was like a breath of fresh air like a morning flower always available kind friendly and funny and nothing seemed to much trouble. The food was lovely the ambience was great. Would I recommend absolutely yes can't fault our lovely afternoon

Our first night out in a restaurant since before Christmas 20. Booked a table which was in a nice area, it wasn’t too busy however we waited over an hour for the starter. The main came about 20 minutes after and was very nice. We did have to call the waitress over a couple of times to ask for drinks so we didn’t get much attention and there was no apology about the waiting. Service wasn’t great but the food was nice. I do visit regularly and it was the first time I have had this issue so would assume it’s a one off and won’t stop me from going again.

My Birthday Treat Amazing food , the sauce with my lamb chops was the best ever. Caring staff, thank you for the sun cream sachet it really did help. Huge thanks to Shelly and Team

Popped in after a dog walk, was seated immediately and served, the food was excellent. Tara our staff member was friendly knowledgeable and accommodating ( even though she seemed to be the only staff member on) nothing was too much trouble. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Popped in earlier today to have a quick drink with a friend. Team we’re really friendly & although we didn’t eat on this occasion we will definitely return to do so.We were served by Richard.

Superb friendly and efficient service by Bayleigh, pleasant and professional. Impromto visit, and was seated outside. A large choice of lunch time meals to choose from. Excellent tasting coffee, and puddings are a generously portioned.

Went for brunch for a family birthday… all i can say is amazing would highly recommend! Food was good quality as was service!

I had wanted to go for a while and we were meant to visit prior to first lockdown. We eventually got to visit on the 9/6 after booking for me and a friend. There was a little wait to get seated but once seated we were served by beau quite quickly. She did state their was a wait for drinks but it really didn’t take long. We ordered off the supper club menu which was 2 courses for £13.99. I had the gammon which was lovely and Eton mess sundae for dessert which was gorgeous. The whole bill for three drinks, two supper club menu offers and side order of mushrooms was £35 which I thought was very reasonable. It was busy and the staff did seem rushed off their feet but our server was very attentive. There was Covid protocol in place and one way in and one way out. I would definitely return as the food was lovely.

Came to The Travellers Rest on Wednesday evening for a family meal. We will definitely be returning. The food was delicious, absolutely perfectly cooked squid and amazing rib eye steak from the specials menu. The staff are all so attentive especially Beau who was our server, so friendly and charismatic. Overall a lovely evening had by all, thank you.

Slight confusion at the start. We hadn't booked but the lady said there was a table for the 3 of us inside.But when we went inside the gentleman said no tables available and because of how busy it was. They were not taking food orders.I thought the gentleman was rude and appeared not to be able to cope with our busy it was.He gave us a table in the end (when the lady said to him we could have a table.) It wasn't suitable for one of the members of the group as it was just a bench. With no back rest. We asked the gentleman if we could have a different table. Which he seemed not to happy with our request. The pub was taking food bookings and the meals came out quicker than we expected.Nice food. Expensive drinks.

Excellent evening at The Travellers tonight, first meal out in 15 months and shall be returning. Felt extremely safe, food was amazing. Beau looked after us and chose Boe passionfruit gin for me which was perfect. Keep up the good work!

Lovely meal out with the family. Food was delicious, especially the pork belly special, and the caramel banana waffle was incredible! The staff are always super helpful and riendly, despite being exceptionally busy and it all added to a wonderful atmosphere at the pub. Cannot recommend this place enough, and can't wait to come back again!

Went for a light lunch today and I was truly impressed with the way the staff worked. They all seemed to work in tandem and I was served by 4 different members of staff. All were very helpful and especially Tara who couldn't do enough to make my stay welcome. The pub is very spacious and has plenty of choice of tables inside and outside. Good choice of real ales aswell.

Easy booking, awesome food everytime my mum and I visit. The staff are always helpful. Really good to be able to take my mum to such a lovely place which is accessible too.

Really nice lunch, great food and great service, especially from Hannah. All our mains and desserts were tasty. The starter sharing platter was very nice (tho be warned, the red peppers are hot chilli peppers, not bell pepper!). Just one comment, a couple more vegetarian options would be nice, thought the halloumi and chips was excellent. They even gave us lovely weather!

Not once I have I visited this pub and not been made to feel welcome, Rich and the team are amazing and always go out of their way to look after you and the food is always delicious. All the staff are friendly and helpful, on most of my visits I have mainly dealt with Shelley and Sioban and these ladies are the best❤

Having been couped up for a number of months for the pandemic .It has renewed our faith in eating out after Thursday evening at The Travellers on Mapperley. The meal was lovely the atmosphere left no doubt that you were safe in your surroundings and best of all our server Beau a lovely young lady greeted us with a refreshing attitude and demeanour that has made the experience more pleasurable than our last outing at a different establishment. She listened to our order and promptly brought our drinks to our table shortly followed by our meal. Whereas very attentive but not overly so. She even had a delightful way in which she engaged with us on our first trip out for along time. Please take note other servers this is a girl to learn from. Well done Beau.Mr & Mrs S W.

Came for a meal with my partner and waited over 50 minutes for the mains after we had finished our starters. When we ordered another drink by calling over the waitress, we asked for the bill to come out with our mains due to being short for time, to which she said this was okay. Our mains never came whilst others around us were being served a lot quicker even though we had been there for longer. This resulted in me asking to take the mains off our bill due to us having to leave. Manager was very apologetic however, had a poor excuse as to why the mains never came. Not impressed.

We had the supper club offer, which is two courses for a set price. We had some lovely food, wine and cocktails served by the lovely hostess, Shelly. Thank you.

First meal out since lockdown and booked at TheTravellers Test. Was very pleased that they were serving the same great food with friendly staff, especially Shelley who served us. Had a great time and good food. Will definitely be back

We booked for lunch yesterday as a chance for my mum to meet with her siblings for the first time since lockdown.The pub was well organised and staff were very friendly. The lunchtime menu had plenty of choice and the portions were just the right size for my mum and siblings. Our server Tara was very attentive.

Beau looked after us marvellously, she was very patient (we kept talking and not looking at the menu!), very friendly and helpful. The food was tasty, well presented, and good value. Covid measures in place, very well handled.

We always enjoy eating at Travellers Rest, much preferred to going into town. The staff are always friendly and the food never fails to disappoint! Sunday dinner is great and a great drinks selection. On our recent visit, Hannah was a fantastic host. She has a genuinely lovely personality!The new dog menu was also a treat for our dog who had the steak and black pudding. He LOVED it. Will be back soon!!

Really friendly, fun and super helpful staff!We were eating late and then wanted deserts at 10.30pm, they were so good natured, served our deserts and we were really impressed with their service. There was a great atmosphere, the food was very good and it was a really enjoyable experience so thank you all!!

Sioban and the team really did their best to fit us in and food and drink was lovely. We turned up without a reservation but they did the utmost to make sure we had a great time.

After a long time apart.. we finally reunited at travellers rest. I can’t thank the staff enough for their hard work and great service after such a long time. The staff are long hard working hours while keeping a positive attitude and a great service. My server today was emmie.. she was so sweet so kind and really helpful. A big thankyou and well don’t to all staff working here too!

Dinner and drinks for 3 friends. Sat outside and brought blankets with us so we were warm. Food was great! We all had pud too. Just nice to finally be able to see friends and have a meal together. Shelley our waitress was so lovely and friendly. The pub is really organised with covid precautions. Easy to book online. Definitely recommend. We'll be back very soon.

Absolutely amazing experience. The staff were so helpful and covid rules were followed. I felt extremely comfortable and was happy when i left.The food was very nice, i ordered the beef rib and it fell off the bone! Would definitely recommend. Clear signage, and one way system! We came for lunch Monday 19th April. We sat on the terrace looking over the fields. The lunch was perfectly cooked. We had the sharing board to start with the gammon steak and the lunch burger. The waiting staff was very friendly and attentive. It is so good to be able to dine out again!

Took my partner for her birthday. With everything going on we was worried if we could celebrate like we wanted!Food was perfect as were the drinks and Siobhan was bubbly and made sure we had everything we needed.This made the day very special. We will be coming again for sure.

Fantastic place. Plenty of parking and lovely outside seating area. We didn't book a table, but we got a table in drinking area which was great. Staff was welcoming and friendly. I had an issue with order and pay app, but host help me with it even when he was busy. Would highly recommend.

Had another meal here before lockdown again!! They were very clean and on the ball with safely measures. Lovely menu choices and very nice food indeed. Layla was our waitress and looked after us very well. She had a difficult job running round after us all being a bit short of staff but bless her she was excellent. We will return when we are allowed!! Hope you come through this OK.

This pub is our go to for a good pub lunch or nice evening meal. The food is very reasonably priced and always good quality. We have attended here a number of times through September / October and always felt safe, the staff are very COVID conscious and can’t do enough to ensure you’re well looked after. The location is great in the summer for the views over the fields and is warm & welcoming in the winter with the log burners on. Highly recommended for a well portioned & tasty pub lunch or evening meal. We will be sure to visit again as soon as we are able to.

Travellers Rest is our local and we frequent it as we know that we will always receive excellent service and good food that doesn't cost the earth.Last time we visited we were served by Mia who was very friendly and gave excellent service.The beer is also excellent - my favourite being the Ice Breaker that is a fantastic IPA.Especially good for Sunday Roasts that are very good value and appear at the table with hardly any wait.Highly recommend!

Thank you Richard for excellent service during some very difficult times. The food was top quality (try the beef on the bone) and as we enter a new lock down I feel for the team and wish them all the best and look forward to seeing them again in December.

Vegan Meal was lovely and the service by Beau was first rate, the lady who I think must be a manager as didn’t have a uniform on is the best asset in this place

My housemates and I come every Friday as a little tradition. We are always welcomed with a smile by the lovely Richard (you cannot miss his smile and those flamboyant shirts, which are fabulous!) Richard always explains the procedures and any changes to regulations (lets face it there are new ones every week). We were given all the menu options as both my housemates are veggie. Becki has also been superb with her five star service. Always polite, respectful and a smile on her face. Nothing is too much trouble. We love coming to the restaurant and we know we will get a great meal (always piping hot as well) and even better service. I would recommend this to all my friends and family and regularly do.

Been coming here for about 25 years. This is the only time I have experienced absolutely shocking service. Had to actually ask... can I please order, whilst 2 waitresses were stood chatting 1 meter away. Highlited the difference in the price online to the current menu. The waitress stated she informed the manager, but not at any stage did they come over.Food was as usual a good standard, shame about the absolutely shocking service. Maybe enough for me to never come back. Poor service to say more or less we was the only table. When speaking to the manager at 8.30pm on the 29/10/20 he couldn't care less. I shall not be returning

Had a lovely cosy evening on Saturday! Few Christmas lights on, nice music and lovely atmosphere. Service was table service and excellent. Front of house Becky was lovely. Will definitely revisit soon.

We have always liked the premises for a meal or a drink, however in current circumstances a family meal it has to be! All of the Covid regs were being adhered to, which didn't detract from a nice relaxed atmosphere and excellent service from all. In particular Sioban our main waitress who was very personable (we had a good laugh with her about customer assessment by staff as our daughter waits on locally as well). The food was excellent, slow cooked belly pork for me, lamb for the good lady and Hunters chicken for the daughter. All were well presented and plates emptied in appreciation. We all managed a dessert and would recommend the sharer. A lovely meal out to remind us of a bit of normality in these strange times!

Went at the travellers for my daughters 4th birthday we really enjoyed our visit there food and service was excellent all staff so lovely and friendly, as soon as we walked in shelly welcomed us with a big smile and showed us to our table Carter Sioban and Desi made sure that we were all happy and that everything was alright with our table, strongly recommended good quality food, good prices friendly staff and also felt safe with everything that's going on at the minute with covid they keep up with cleaning and sanitising everything and everywhere all the time. 10/10

Pre Booked over the phone and spoke to Becky, she was very helpful and polite, was able to make arrangements for our forth coming meal. told about the covid safe preparations in place. On arrival was made very welcome and attended during our meal by Becky, Food was great and great service by Becky and the other staff that were on duty throughout the evening

10/10 service from Emmi and 10/10 food from Zac and Gaz! I visited the Travellers Rest for dinner on Tuesday and had a wonderful evening. Our waitress Emmi was brilliant at explaining the new system they have in place in order to be COVID safe and was so attentive throughout our visit. Nothing was too much trouble for Emmi and she really made our visit extra enjoyable. I highly recommend the salt and pepper squid with the chill jam, and the fish and chips were excellent; perfectly cooked and a generous portion. Sadly I didn’t have room for pudding! Highly recommend! S x

The steak and red wine pie is a thing is absolute dining wonder. A full pie, all shortcrust pastry, crammed with filling. I have eaten a lot of pies, cant remember one this good!Also decent selection of beer, nice setting and great service. Good value all round.Pie deal on Wednesday.Trust me - order the pie!!!

We had a gourmet steak sandwich, the gravy tasted great, a Chicken truffle BLT which surprised the wife because it comes cold and she expected it warm, we had a child's smothered chicken which wasn't a s smothered as I'd was described there was no melted cheese on it. Tara was very polite and helpful top marks for her.Overall 4/5 thanks Travellers!

Good set up by the restaurant to adhere to Covid rules and staff were nice. Good selection of food and refreshingto have some choice for vegetarian meals rather than the normal 2/3 choices in other pub restaurants. Had a nice evening and also good choice of wine.Will be going back.

Me and my parents & brother came for a meal & were served by Libby, my parents were a bit nervous about being out for dinner because of covid but the service she provided was reassuring as she was very professional. She was so lovely and welcoming & made the experience even better!

Saturday family tea out with 2 young children was made really easy thanks to the service & food. Considering the current climate & restrictions we are under due to COVID we were impressed with the set up that the pub have implemented. There were plenty of staff to ensure table service was efficient & the environment was friendly even with the masks & visors. Special mention to Becky for her friendly service. Highly recommend for a family tea out.
