We held my Mums 80th birthday (Sunday lunch) at the Travellers Rest. The service was first class, we were very well looked after by the team who were very attentive. They had even decorated our area with birthday banners which was a really nice touch. All of the food came out at the same time, no mean feat as there were 28 of us! The food was absolutely delicious and everyone had a lovely time. I would highly recommend the Travellers, everything was perfect and I couldn't find fault with anything. Thank you to the team for making Mums birthday so special and looking after us so well.

I have left reviews regarding the Travellers Rest before, today my wife and I had Sunday lunch here. The difficulty I now have is writing this review because I have said all these things before! The service and staff was excellent! The lunch was (as before) excellent! There were quite a few customers but not a lot of noise, probably because most people were tucking into Russell and Fiona's excellent meals, the staff were as usual attentive, smiling and happy. Well done Russell and Fiona and all your staff. Brilliant !!!!

I visited here today for lunch to celebrate our Mum’s birthday. I booked in advance, via email & received a really quick response. I mentioned that it was my Mum’s birthday & when we arrived they had put a birthday banner on our table & they also brought her dessert out with a candle in it & sang happy birthday to her. What a lovely thing to do!!! The staff were all so friendly and efficient and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. A beautiful classic pub with a menu packed full of real traditional pub food. Will definitely go back and will take the dog too next time! Superb experience, thank you all.

Found this pub by chance and what a find! Friendly welcome for us and our dog. The food was outstanding real home cooked grub, best meal of our holiday. Highly recommended

Midweek lunch for 2 our first time even though we live locally - great menu with food to suit all tastes! Great value and top quality - we chose two baguettes, a real plate full with fries and large salad and also had a calamari to share. First class friendly service in an immaculately clean pub - highly recommended.

We wanted to meet friends living in Devon and we were on our way north. It was suggested as an excellent meeting place and we had a superb Sunday lunch with terrific waitresses who looked after us and we liked the boss and his wife who worked so hard Well done top marks

If there's a better food pub in Exeter or indeed Devon I've yet to find it. This pub doesn't shout from the rooftops like so many others but it's second to none - the food is incredible, the beer is top notch and the service is warm and friendly. Try it - you won't be disappointed.

Very warm welcome - including the dog in oye party. Pleasant unobtrusive service. A wide ranging menu - and nicely cooked and presented food. Just be careful crossing the road from and to the car park!

Five star service and five star food. We booked Sunday lunch as we were staying nearby. The place was packed out with lots of locals collecting takeaways. My husband I went for the roast beef, served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese with a separate dish of vegetables, carrots, swede, broccoli and cabbage. All served piping hot by the friendliest of staff. The teens went for lasagne and chips which again was very tasty and piping hot. The staff were very friendly, well organised and very efficient. They made us feel welcome and even gave the dog his own treat bowl. I would thoroughly recommend a visit here and will do if I am in the area again

We had arranged to meet friends here on our way from Scotland to Cornwall and couldn’t have picked a better choice. A lovely pub, beautiful garden and really friendly and genuine owners who went out of their way to make sure visitors were well and enjoying their visit.

Great family celebration for my husband's birthday. Staff were busy for a Saturday night but gave us a good welcome and they had put up birthday decorations around the table and a candle in his dessert to sing happy birthday!
