Went for a meal looked lovely small eating place. Will never be back. Waited 30 minutes for fish chips. Told cooked fresh so thought the wait would be ok. When put down I thought it was a starter 1/2 fish 2 small pieces of lettuce and a cherry tomato cut in half. A wire basket of chips. Fish overcooked couldn't even taste fish. Avoid this place. Even school meals were better. Never be back all I can say is go to fish and chip shop pay less and enjoy Rotten school out if 10 would be 0

My aunt went out with a friend for some lunch and a bit of time out. She is 96 and doesn't leave the house very often (especially since coronavirus). She struggles with hearing and has hearing aids - which is her only form of hearing. Upon arriving she was stared at in the rudest manner by the waiting staff (as like many others her hearing aid can whistle at times). After she had been seated for a while, she was getting stared at by other customers and was actually approached by a waitress asking her if it was possible to turn her hearing aids off since it was disturbing other people. When she told us about this she was almost in tears. To me this is absolutely disgusting behaviour from all those involved (particularly from the waitress that asked her to turn her hearing aid off). Safe to say that none of us will be coming back which is a shame since she had been here before and loved it!

We may try it again because drinks were decent enough but one of the waitresses was really unfriendly. Maybe she was having a bad day - it happens - but it left me feeling unwelcome.

Asked for the beans pie and chips and the owner went out to buy me one from a shop. Proper chips. Excellent service. Bob and his staff were really nice. The others had paninis and enjoyed them.

Called in for a quick bite whilst shopping in Ayr. Have not been in for a while but every hit as hood as I remembered. Not too busy because of time of day. We both chose a bacon toastie and were not disapointed. Service was very good and staff very friendly. Don't think I will leave it as long this time to revisit. Would recommend a visit.

This is a lovely little gem tucked away near the high street; don’t bother going to costa or nero, this is far better!! It is a lovely wee place, a traditional coffee shop. The décor ins elegant and cozy, very feminine and welcoming; it smells of lovely coffee at the moment you get in and you are welcomed with a smile by the young girl and her mom, who run the place. The offer is very good, cakes and scones… hard to choose! The offers are very attractive, a coffee and a cake for less than £4? Yes! I had an expresso and I have to say, is the best I had in a while (in all the other places they burn the coffee and is bitter and horrible!) this was spot on! My partner had a cappuccino with a chocolate fudge cake… it arrived warm, drizzled with chocolate glaze… it was delicious!

My mum and I thought we'd give this place a try yesterday. I couldn't rate the lentil soup any higher!! My mum also loved her homemade carrot cake and a cappuccino. The two ladies who served us couldn't have been any more pleasant or attentive! Will be returning!!!

We nearly passed it by, but I had a wee swatch in and was immediately taken by the friendly feel inside. There were happy conversations; and a comfortable, cosy, welcoming atmosphere. My chicken noodle soup, in a full-to-the-brim bowl, expertly and very carefully placed before me was, indeed, home-made with an outstanding depth of taste. My wife's large cheese and ham toastie had a real cheese and ham filling - not "synthetic". The portion of chips could have fed us twice over! and they, also, were real, made from new potatoes. A spicy toasted teacake washed down with a large cup of Earl Grey topped off a delicious lunch.

After doing shopping in Ayr we were looking for proper home cooked food. Came across The Town House a bit pricey but food was great. Roast Beef which we both had was excellent. This was a Roast of beef and not out a packet or tin. would go back no problem

Have called at this café several times in the past. Called in on Sunday and found that the place had been given a make over. It is looking very good. A couple of tables have been taken out which has made a big difference space wise. We settled for the 6 piece (of our choice) breakfast and coffees. As usual the service was excellent and the food very good. Will continue to use the café when in Ayr and would recommend a visit.

Good coffee in this little cafe however the rude staff member Jill left a bad taste in my mouth. Served my coffee and toastie without being asked if I required anything else, I politely asked Jill in the passing for milk. Whilst my coffee was sitting on my table getting cold she proceeded to serve a couple waiting to pay their food, following this she started to bring another table coffees and jugs of milk, I politely asked her again on passing (thinking she could spare a jug of milk for the other table) ,excuse me could I have some milk please". With an inexcusable attitude and piercing eyes she snapped "I'm just getting it", she had clearly forgot my milk and there was no issue for me that she had however manners cost nothing and speaking to people in this manner is very rude and upsetting. I stopped her with my mother before Xmas shopping did not make a nice start to our shopping day, would not recommend this cafe.

Pleasant little tea shop in the centre of Ayr, right in the middle of the shopping area. Just right for a break between shops or to fortify yourself before the shopping ordeal starts.

I visited this restaurant recently and will not be going back. Prices are very high three pounds for a roll in sausage which was not properly cooked. Waitress was rude and gave the impression she could not care less. Big disappointment.

Despite there being no menu in the window or any customers inside we decided it was just an in between time and that's why it was quiet. On looking at the menu we decided that the rib eye steak was a good option at £9.99 as the other mains ranged from £5.99 to £8.99. Drinks were quite expensive at £1.65 for a can of cola from a multipack. I ordered my steak medium rare and my Mum asked for well done. The cook commented that people always wanted the steaks cooked differently, why ask how you want it cooked then moan about it? When the food came it looked lovely with fresh veg, caramelised onions and real chips in a separate wee pot. The steaks had both been cooked to within an inch of their lives and were dry and chewy and definitely not rib eye. The full meal came to £25 which seems fine if the steak had been cooked how we asked and not totally ruined. Bit overpriced for some things, decor dated and a menu in the window would help before you go in, maybe attract more visitors too.

Visited on a sunny bank holiday Monday. the board outside advertised Haddock chips & mushy peas @ 5.99 which seemed a good deal. OK the place is on the small side but the waitress was quick to seat our party on two adjourning tables & quickly found space to park our granddaughters buggy out of the way. The food was not long in arriving & was excellent on all aspects & the total bill was most reasonable. Would certainly go back. Our 6 yr old grandson loved his visit to Ayr & we all look forward to returning in the future.

We were a coach party from West Lothian and many of us visited this traditional tea room/restaurant during a pouring wet Monday in August. It was very cosy with softly upholstered chairs and cheery staff. We were shown where to put our dripping umbrellas and able to use the immaculaate toilet facilities.

Had lunch here on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Sits on a busy corner of the main street but once inside it opens into a bar area and good restaurant area and garden overlooking the river( and boatyard). Menu has a good selection of classic pub food. Took a little time for our meal to arrive but as is was freshly made this was not a problem. The boatyard burger was one of the best burgers I have had in years and my wife was delighted with the chicken pie with mash and fresh veg. The chef knows how to cook!! If you are in Girvan this place is worth a visit for the food and the view.

They seem to have a problem actually pricing items in this garden centre. Not sure why, since staff are usually tripping over each other. The cafe is generally staffed by a lot of very young, disorganised people behind the counters who lack any form of civility or people skills, and are more interested in flirting and chatting with each other. Why are they clearing food away at least an hour and a half before closing time, and making customers feel unwelcome. Almost like they don’t want customers. Won’t be back.
