Excellent for garden centre food. Have come here for lunch a number of times recently usually on a Sunday. Food is fairly simple but always quick and tasty. Price is on par with other garden centre restaurants in the area.

This Coffee shop is adjacent to the A96 with parking facilities that are hard to find in Inverness Town Centre. Good selection of hot drinks and tray bakes.

The coffee is really poor. Even an Americano tastes worse than an instant coffee at home. And this place isn't cheap. £2 for a scone then they charge 40p for jam to put on it. Even their empire biscuits cost over £2. We used to enjoy going here for coffee but not any more.

We are regulars here, not only for the gardening side but also for the cafe. I think the coffee has improved greatly since they changed the coffee. The filter coffee is much better and hotter than it used to be and the capachinos are great. My husband says their cheese scones are the best he has had anywhere. Good selection of food with a small breakfast costing just £1.99. They often have deals going on so it's always worth checking that out. On Tuesday you can get 15% off food and drinks if you are over 60. I find the staff very friendly and helpful and the service is excellent. Lunch times are usually busy so that says a lot. Keep it up Howdens.

We visited the Topiary coffee shop yesterday and ordered 2 small cappuccino's. We were presented with 2 large latte's instead and when I questioned this was, told that there is no difference between the two. Despite this the staff member did replace the coffees but did this in a very unfriendly way with no apology given but whispered comments to her colleague which made us feel very uncomfortable. The replacement coffee was horrible and after taking a few sips we left. We certainly will not return again.

3This is part of Howdens Garden Centre and not the easiest place to find, but well worth the effort! It is on the A96 road into Inverness. with the entrance just past to the industrial park. It opens for freshly cooked breakfasts from 9 a.m.with brung and lunch available. All the food seems to be freshly prepared in the kitchens and staff bring the main courses directly to the table. We had soups followed by macaroni and cheese with chips and .this was one of the best macaroni dishes we have tasted - full of strong cheese! Two main courses cost just 10 Pounds and there is a seniors discount on Tuesdays! The coffee shop keeps store hours, but is open late on a Thursday evening when they serve a home-made pasta with a glass of white wine - something that I would like to try! The seating area is much larger than expected and the walls are covered with prints, clocks and other ote,s for sale.

Visited last two Sundays. Excellent service - high praise due for Jane on both occasions. Food very good and far better than it used to be. Only disappointment was the lack of roast beef on both days (run out) - both times not very long after 1pm and both when there appeared to be plenty of seats vacant. Perhaps they should cater for this? Once perhaps - two weeks running suggests bad planning...

Good wee coffee shop on the A96 just after Tescos' with great friendly service, serving good reasonable priced meals, snacks, drinks and cakes. Nice to have a wander around the garden centre also. There is now a kitchen shop and a craft shop also.

It's a good sign that the new Topiary Coffee Shop in Howdens Garden Centre, is always busy with local people. It's not easy to find as it is on the side road leading into the Holiday Inn Express and Travelodge on the A96 just outside Inverness. Wheelchairs are available at the door for handicapped people, which is just as well, as you have to navigate your way through the many departments of the garden centre to reach the cafe. It;s well worth the effort though as they have freshly cooked food available all day at very reasonable prices and their home-made soups and sandwiches are really good. They have main courses of the day offer two for Ten Pounds. They are open all day with late opening from Wednesday through Friday evenings. They are the nearest restaurant to the two hotels nearby and provide a really good freshly cooked breakfast but, unfortunately, don't open until 9 a.m. We have had breakfast there and stopped for lunch there last week. The location is great for drivers as it avoids Inverness' one-way road system.

No food on offer other than crisps, ice cream and a meagre offering of cake, shocked as we were there for a 1pm show and had travelled over an hour thinking we would be fine for lunch at the theatre. Staff were fine, no hint of getting things done in a timely fashion and not much interaction with customers. Decor is depressing, such a big space makes it cold and echoey. Just no atmosphere whatsoever. Very disappointed and won't be back.

We stayed at this Inn/Hotel at the beginning of November, returning home we received an email asking us to review our stay. This we did by email, however, we did not receive a reply nor did we receive a reply to our follow up copy email, which I now type below. "Many thanks for your email, usually we send a report good or bad to Tripadvisor, as you have asked for feedback I am happy to share our thoughts with you initially. I have an email from you confirming our reservation from the 4th to the 8th November, 2024 in a Garden Room. This was because we have a dog and thought this would be an easier option should she need to go outside. When we arrived we had NOT been booked into a Garden Room for our five nights, as per your confirmation. We were offered a garden room for 3 nights and two other nights elsewhere within the hotel. I really did not feel changing rooms, packing and unpacking for two nights was a good idea, so we opted to stay again in Room 111 for the five night stay. I am sure you will agree, this was not a good start to our holiday. I spoke to another couple who had also booked a garden room only to find they too had been misallocated a room and these long established customers were very upset and vowed not to return next year for their 8th year. I feel it necessary to draw to your attention the lack of servicing for Room 111. Each day our duvet was "just turned over at the top", the bottom sheet was not straightened and the pillows were as we had arisen, not even straightened and aligned. The cleanliness in the bathroom left much to be desired. As I am sure you are aware there is no toilet brush next to the lavatory. The toilet was not cleaned throughout our stay and the bowl after five nights was turning a light shade of brown, however, diligent attention was paid to folding and making the spare toilet roll and the one for use look pretty. I would have preferred a clean toilet. This takes me on to the bath. On arrival there was a single long dark hair in the bath, as we did not use the bath and both have grey hair, this was still there when we left!! The shower doors require a thorough clean and polish, there is black mould on the wall and around the base of the shower. During our stay this was NOT cleaned at all. Mould and Mildew spray with a toothbrush would solve this problem. Likewise the wash hand basin was neglected. No dusting or vacuuming was carried out in the room for the duration of our stay. For your information I left a piece of cotton and a clean tissue on the floor and they were not picked up. When we had dinner in the bar area dogs were quite welcome. However, in the morning we did feel rather like second class citizens as we were with other dog owners required to use the alternative dining room, which was uninviting and a long way from the self-service area in the breakfast room. On two days for breakfast we were along with four other owners with dogs, allowed to use the breakfast room. No explanation was given for the flexible rule. To end on a good note, the staff were pleasant and helpful, always willing to assist in anyway they could. It is with interest I await your response. " On our next trip to Scotland we shall stay elsewhere.
