Nice pub with a comedy venue upstairs (which was absolutely brilliant - wish we lived closer to come more regularly). We came in a Friday evening where there was a 241 offer at the bar although it took ages to be served as only one member of bar staff. We didn’t eat here but the food looked and smelled good!

This visit we had excellent food and refreshments. We arrived before rush hour so our food arrived quickly and well prepared. All in all an enjoyable visit to a place we frequent often.

A best kept secret, you're in for a treat. Comedy held in a venue that is second to none. Great food and a nice pint to boot. Seriously, it is the best venue in town, for crowd work and top rated comedians, pure joy 👌

Horrible place, the receptionist was super rude and despite us waiting on their heads in the lobby for 2 hours they did not agree to check in before 3:15pm while the mentioned time was 3pm. There is no elevator to take your luggage up and the door to the rooms doesn’t open easily with the keys. The AC also does not work in the room. Horrible, would never recommend to stay here.

We've been in London for few days and we stayed in the Tommyfield. It was a perfect choice - cosy rooms, close to the city center, great food at the bar, good discounts for the guests, very friendly and helpful service, awesome owner. All for a good price! Really recommended, would stay again!

Nice place with gluten free options. Great staff. After discussing gluten free options they served me a sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and delicious and filling sticky toffee.

We were there for the comedy upstairs but thought we would have something to eat before hand, walm welcome from Alex and pleased to see 2-4-1 in certain drinks. Scotch eggs, beef Croquettes and Sausage and Mash were very tasty. Looked after by Hector who was an amazing host and certainly added to our overall enjoyment. Wouldn't hesitate to return, great pub

I went there yesterday got the Fish and Chips. They were so greasy and soak in oil. The chips was dark colored but not crispy and also very oily. I can say it is the worse fish and chips I have ever had.

One of my locals. The food is good and never disappointed, and the staff friendly and helpful. Best to book, certainly if sporting events are being televised, to ensure you get a table.

Staying as house guests we ate in numerous times and loved the quality of food on offer. From scotch eggs to bangers n mash, we really enjoyed the food, staff, service and location. Will visit again when next in Northern Hemisphere.

Nice meal, nice lager and atmosphere

First time staying at Tommyfield hotel. The staff are amazing, special shoutout to Hector! the best customer service ever, made sure to accommodate to our every need. Hector went above and beyond and was very efficient. Will definitely be staying again, great location too.

Attended for a private function (did not stay). The room had great wallpaper for photos. Staff that brought food and water were responsive to requests. Access was easy.

We decided that we would go to the local pub on a Sunday evening in London. After a bit of a searching around we ended up at the Tommyfield Restaurant around the corner. It was a little quiet but so was everything else around But what a great place to sit down and have a meal. We were immediately greeted by Hector smiling and clearly enjoying his work. He was very knowledgeable and professional in his role and he knew it well. As we started talking wines instead just saying we have this and that he actually let us try a sip before we bought. He warmed to us over the night and was very helpful. On his advice and being a little adventurous we settle in a Lebanese Red wine. No one thinks of Lebanon when you talk wine but this was delicious and great with the food. As we stelled in to the night with all our favorite 80s hits planning in the background we had fun. I stettle for a rare steak which was beautifully cooked to perfection. While Kim had the Ravioll. We settled also for a side serve of yorkshire pudding . Fresh and homemade. I probably will not look for it again but it tasted great. An night at the Tommyfield was just what was needed. A fantastic meal, great company and Hector professional and fun to the end kept us entertained. The whole evening was just fun and relaxing, the food was amazing, yet very down to earth good British tucker. I would highly recommend recommend a night at the Tommyfield to destress. The staff were excellent 👌 thanks Hector for a very informed and fun night. You made a good night out into a superb night.

What a great dinner we enjoyed at Tommyfield Restaurant. Hector, the staff at Tommyfield was fantastic and had a wonderful personality which made our dinner even better.

Pleasantly surprised after reading negative reviews before going. Food was excellent; reasonably sized portions, tasty, well cooked and presented. Charming staff and good service. We weren't rushed and prices very reasonable for London. Would definitely go again if visiting Kennington.

The food was terrible. This pub has a problem, it smells bad. It's damp or blocked drains or some leak somewhere. Whatever it is it needs sorting. It's a real shame because the comedy club upstairs is excellent, but I'm very hesitant to even get a drink because of the smell.

Stayed here and it was a pleasant surprise: good value, warm and clean, nice big towels, good bed, coffee/tea in room and spacious! You get a separate coded-door entrance to the pub and the staff are friendly. On week-days there is a cafe 303 next door which does good breakfasts and coffee. Some rooms are on level 2 (lots of stairs) so if that is daunting ask for one of the level 1 rooms (probably less view).

Initially only visited for the upstairs comedy night (which was a blast) and then stayed for food. After an initial order issue with an in-training server, another lovely chap resolved everything. He went above and beyond with amending the mistake, with a generously discounted bill and even a couple of glasses of bubbly. Far beyond what was necessary! Made for a lovely valentines day. Steak was top notch too. No complaints at all!

Great place and very kind people

I decided to try this pub because there was a 50% off food for January. I had high expectations for the pie as it says outside “Famous pies” and there was no disappointment, the pie was very different then any other pies I had before and also very tasty. What surprised me the most it was the big chunks of lean, tender and juicy beef, usually we don’t get this quality in pies, also the flavours were very good and I absolutely enjoyed it. In the other hand my husband didn’t enjoy his burger, he described it as bland but to be honest I think he could go for a better option as burgers we can get a lot better in burger restaurants. The prices are a bit on the higher side, specially the burgers which was £17 and £18.50. I think the burgers costing more than the pie doesn’t make any sense as the pie is way better than the burgers. I also enjoyed my panettone French toast, but it would be even better if there was a bit more sweetness as the jam was not very sweet and the chantilly was not sweet at all, I think it would be perfect if it’s served with some maple syrup. I was quite disappointed as I couldn’t get my non alcoholic mojito, I was informed that it was not possible to make it because there was no fruits, the delivery hasn’t arrived at almost 4pm. Service could also be better as there were 2 people serving and most of the time it took us long to get someone to notice we were calling, despite the pub being almost empty, however as soon as we ordered our food we didn’t wait for long, so the chef did a great job. I liked the experience but I didn’t love it, I have mixed feelings and I’m not sure if I’ll be returning.

A fantastic boutique hotel above the Tommyfield Pub in Kennington. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated warm and spotless and the food in the bar is superb. A discount for residents also helps. Near tube station and easy to get on District line to all the attractions although it is literally next door to my London office. I’ve already planned my next 3 next business trips to London here. What more can be said!

Came here last night with three friends for a pint and some food. Very good selection of beers and the food was really excellent. It was fairly empty though and there was a particularly unpleasant smell when we entered (a bit like off yeast? Hard to pinpoint). We got used to the smell though. Good TVs for sport viewing etc.

Been there for a couple of drinks. Large venue with plenty of tables. Drinks are sold at a good price.

Great find . Fantastic food and brilliant service ( even put TV on so we could watch the Arsenal game , although sadly they couldn't guarantee a good result) Then upstairs to see some top quality comedy . Huge discount on the bill if you attend the comedy event , brilliant night will defintely do it again!!

This place is seriously understaffed and the staff that are there are rude. If you want a nice evening out, find somewhere that values your custom. I hope the kitchen staff are better than the waiters otherwise I really fear for the quality.

I had fish and chips, it was ok! But not like a weatherspoons, as the fish was overly battery and had to remove some. Staff were helpful and friendly and my sprizter was all good.

Great little place with comedy shows upstairs and tasty pub food. The reason that I can only give 3.5 stars is there is only a single non-alcoholic beer behind the bar, and particularly when so many are doing dry January, they’re way behind the curve on this. Even nightclubs and small corner shops offer several options so it would be good to see some other selections - erdinger is quite sweet and artificial tasting. Guinness, Heineken, Peroni, Brew dog, all have lots of better tasting options - trust me you’ll take more behind the bar by offering more choice.

A friend was staying here (and really rated it as a hotel), so I joined him for dinner. They have good pub food and we were well looked after.

Unfortunately very disappointed with their service because too long to waiting for foods & forget to service me but gave me incorrectly foods that I ordered veggie burger with sweet potato chips but they didn't extra cheese in it & incorrect chips!

Two of our group who had the same order became extremely ill that night - vomiting et al - and couldn’t go to work the next day, let alone hardly look after our two year old daughter. We called the Tommyfield to explain but was met with dismissal - told we would be called back but weren’t. Having eaten here on and off for 10 years; we will no longer be coming nor recommending it. There are MUCH better pubs with food that doesn’t make you ill in 5minutes or every direction

Came here for a team christmas lunch yesterday (19/12/2023) and can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I've had! The team were personable, kind, patient and so attentive, they catered for all 25 of us so well and speedily, the food was amazing, clean plates everywhere! Hector and Michal were so efficent and were amazing, as was the chap behind the bar who was able to keep up with our team, aha! We had the private room and the atmosphere given by the tall windows and lovely decor was great, very Victorian and great to see it almost untouched! Highly recommend for functions!

The food was great, we had the 3 course Christmas menu and every course was delicious and good size portions. The pub itself is really nice and well located. We had a couple of issues with the bill, on the Christmas menu it says you get 25% off in the week for bookings between 12 - 6pm, so we booked for 6pm and asked for the Christmas menu. A member of staff rang me and confirmed that they would do the 25% off, then when we got there they said that they couldn't do it as we didn't put our orders in before 6. We wouldn't have minded if we weren't told before that we could get it, so that did add £27 to our bill. We the ordered 2 bottles of the house white which is advertised as £20 on the menu, but when we checked our bill they had charged us for 2 bottles of £28 wine because the were out of house wine, but no one told us this. They did give us a partial discount when we said, but I think in general they need to go out what is on the menu, as that's a big reason why we booked.

Beautiful pub. On our first visit, we were made very welcome by the female bar tender. Less so by the guy behind the bar next time when we came to Always Be Comedy.

Came for our Xmas meal, highly recommend - lovely and great value food but made even better by the brilliant service. We had a baby in the group and staff offered many adjustments to make sure they were happy and comfortable. Thanks so much for making it such an enjoyable and comfortable day!

Came here for a Christmas lunch with my work, we had a private room upstairs that was fantastic. The staff were super attentive and made our day relaxed and fun.

Great venue for comedy upstairs. Downstairs large area. Good bar. The only thing was a bit of a weird smell which to me smelled like a dirty mop. Damp. Ewww. Not conducive to eating.

Underrated bar in Kennington! Management/staff are responsive, accommodating and friendly. Great place to watch sports games. Good food specials too. Drinks are typical London prices. I’ve been a few times and will keep going.

Had Sunday brunch ,the quality of the food was just not good , hash browns cold and greasy , very mean portion of bacon and “tomatoes” was just a slice . It also didn’t help there’s a mouldy / damp smell in the place. I’m sorry it’s a poor review , it’s a local business and I’d love to support it , we haven’t been since we had a poor dinner experience a few months ago , it’s a shame because it used to be pretty good .

Used to be our local pub for Tuesday quiz nights and revisited last night for a catch up with friends. Quiz was good. Service extremely slow. Was told not able to order food at bar, tried several times to get attention of waiting staff only to go to back the bar to request for someone to attend to take order. Additionally the waiter automatically adds 12.5% service charge and expects just a tap and done. Very awkward to ask for this to be removed and it should not be assumed. Not entirely sure what service was paid for. Fish and chips mediocre at best.

Hector and his team were so accommodating with their service we will definitely be back here again to try the food!!

It was my friends' and my first experience coming to a pub but we decided we had to! Chose this place bc it was open late. The server was very nice explaining to us how pub culture is as we were terribly nervous. Had a good time and good food. The chef reopened the kitchen for dessert which was very incredibly kind. Would have gone again if we had time!

We pop in here every so often. Beer is usually good, food is OK and comedy club upstairs is fantastic. The staff are super friendly and service is good.

Here for a comedy show upstairs, given a discount code but the table QR code based ordering system was inexplicable and didn't really work. No table service to speak of so the Tommyfield missing out on revenue from the comedy crowd. Nice place, expensive snacks, but a rare live venue, so must recommend it.

I have been enjoying this place since it opened and must have eaten their excellent sirloin steaks 20 times for supper over the years.But now it seems the varous discounts on offer come with reduced portions,possibly driven by a need to cut costs during hard times in the industry. I was a guest today for lunch.One of the party was served the smallest steak known to man which could not have been served rare,as requested as it was too thin.10oz? I don't think so. Other dishes were very average.Perhaps the lunchtime team in the kitchen is different from the long established evening team?That would not excuse the portions. I hope the Tommyfield and its minichain survive their current issues, but they won't do it by lowering their standards. A word of praise for the two front of house people trying to cope with a very busy lunch session.They were helpful,pleasant and doing their utmost.The Tommyfield is advertising for waiting staff.

Despite not being busy we had to find our own seats then after waiting for ages had to go the bar to get the menus and ask for drinks. After we had eaten we were then waiting ages for the bill and ended up going to the bar to pay but still had to pay the service charge, for what …. there was no service it was terrible! Don’t bother going here

We booked online ages ago to come here on a Friday night for a few drinks but alas we didn’t get any. I don’t know what was wrong but everyone was waiting ages. We waited over 10 mins just to sit down, over 25 mins before anyone asked us for a order and a further 15 mins of no drinks arriving. All in all it was nearly an hour wait and we noticed lots of other people leaving in the same situation as us and not being served. We eventually decided after nearly an hour of waiting for nothing, to just go to the pub opposite called the Dog house and they sat us down instantly without a booking and got us drinks quickly. Such a shame as I love three cheers pubs and we go to them very often but I don’t think I’ll be ever returning here again as it was a complete nightmare.

No se mencionó en el teléfono que tendríamos que compartir mesa. Esto no se esperaría antes del coronavirus y mucho menos en la actualidad. Obviamente, están tratando de abarrotar a la mayor cantidad de personas posible, mientras que las regulaciones restringen que la gente se pare en el bar. Hice una reserva de último minuto para aprovechar el programa Eat Out to Help Out. El Tommyfield tiene una ubicación ideal tanto para el autobús como para el metro, el restaurante en sí no es enorme, pero puede atender a un gran número. El personal fue muy servicial; incluso trasladándome a un área preferida sin ningún problema. Pedí el pastel de patata dulce y queso de cabra y estaba delicioso, regado con una buena bebida fría. Los precios eran incluso más razonables de lo normal como resultado del plan, sin embargo, todavía volvería.Darle una oportunidad ????
