The Toad in the Hole in Worthing

I have visited this establishment only a few times, and every visit has been a great experience. Staff have been welcoming, and beer was good. Great music by Jed & the crew. Have not tried the food to date.

Great bar staff who were friendly, helpful and a pleasure to spend time with. The dark beer on cask (and keg) was so so but better than the usual Guinness only choice down south. However, the barrel aged imperial stout in the fridge is fabulous. It deserves to be drunk more and it's a crying shame they apparently don't sell more. I'm going back to get a few bottles to take home with me back up north! The place itself has a lovely homely vibe (well like our home anyway). It's cosy and strange and a mess and characterful and relaxing. Loved the place. Lick toads people.

What a magnificent little pub with a great beer selection which isn't your usual boring rubbish. Lovely little beer garden. Delicious session pale. Very friendly staff and patrons. Brilliant glasses!!! Go.

Nice real ale pub with a Toad in the holegame.

So rude, a few of the beer's ran out, there was only one left, it taste like soap, I took it back, the bar lady was very rude I had to buy a lager, she charged me more for it. It was their fault I had to have it, I said I wanted the other one but they didn't have it, they should've charged me for that After that, both the girl's were really rude the rest of the night, chatting and staring at us We won't be coming back.

An excellent local. Good beer and good service. Having been back fairly regularly, I think I need to add that this pub is a happy place. It is a place to unwind and relax. The Hand Brewery and its team should be very proud of their creation. Thank you.

Fantastic pub. Warm, friendly, love the decor. Almost want to down vote it so it doesn't get too many people filling it up but I can't! I am seriously lucky to have this as my local. I highly recommend checking it out and the monthly music quiz will blow your mind!

Such a cute and cosy little pub with a great atmosphere and friendly service! It's also super close to the train station, which is a bonus!

Had a fabulous Coffee Porter served by the marvellous Rhiannon, relaxed atmosphere, good beer, part of a good pub walk!! Worth searching for.

A pleasant surprise. Passing by, enticed by the live music. Old boozer given a new lease of life. Decent selection behind the bar.

Full of eclectic locals, nice courtyard garden, good beers and free cheese and jazz on Sundays. Not forgetting the two Toad in the Hole games. What more could you want?

Lucky enough to try the soft launch of Crudo here and it was amazing. Always been a great pub with great beers but now Fridays are gonna be a regular occurrence

Expensive small local pub. High prices for beer of cheap non branded beer. Can't understand why high priced for small pub. Not worth returning for. Good service by barmaid, friendly and welcoming. Shame, as thought it would be better priced....

Excellent pint of locally -brewed beer in an unspoilt traditional pub. It might be time to remove the Castle Tavern sign, however.

Good range of beers, friendly efficient staff and and a generally friendly atmosphere (a good eclectic range of people). Also, there were no children/babies in pub...hooray!!! ( I think I might open my own pub one day to specically make it child unfriendly). I only gave it 3 stars because some of it really needs refurbishment or a very deep clean,especially at the back seating area. It has recently been taken over, so hopefully, the new owners have plans to do this. When we went, there was a DJ playing. Although the music was good, it was too loud for the size of the pub. I never see the point of a DJ in a pub. They take up room and are always too loud. You may as well just make a good 'mixtape' or Spotify playlist. But that's just a personal moan on my part. Certainly, The Toad in Hole has the potential to be an excellent pub. I can definitely see me going there more often. It just needs a bit more investment at the mo.

Only popped in here for a drink on 1 occasion. There was a Greek food stall outside which was arranged by the pub. The landlady I believe served me and as it was our first time she let my partner try a little sample of their version of Guinness. Produced locally in a brewery. Didn't experience here for long as we were on a walk. Would go back though!

Lovely friendly place with a good selection of well kept cask ales.

Nice range of Hand beers, I shared a bottle of the BA version of Staggering in the Dark, and that was glorious. The singluar bar staff could have had a hand as she appeared rushed and a little disinterested.

My girlfriend and I visited from Horsham owing to the fact that we love craft beers and really like Hand Brew brewery. The pub itself is nice and welcoming with a great selection of beers for all tastes. The pub also has special music nights from live music to DJs so we will be back. Thank you.

Too cold! Nice pub but cheerless on cold wet day, colder when I left than when I arrived. My clothes are still damp.

Good beer selection and free cheese on Sunday!

Friendly greeting, locally brewed beer and a great place to relax with a pint. The first impression was an incredibly welcoming bloke behind the bar, then you have a wonderful selection of ales brewed just along the road in West Worthing (this makes it eco friendly drinking right?). The 3 main beers on tap start at 3.8% and go up to 4.6% for the strongest. The beers are really about flavour, not knocking your head off with strength, they deliver here and I loved them. There were some other options for the American IPA crowd. Decor wise, it's simple no frills affair, there's plenty of tables and some outside space. Didn't see much food offering, but some good pub snacks. Definitely worth a visit.

A nice pub. It has good local ales on tap. Background music that's not chart pop. If you need to get milk or bread then Morrisons is next door.

Wow . So from the castle to the toad in the hole . They have done wonders and there own lager is amazing . It now nice and clean with really friendly bar staff . What a change we'll done guys I highly recommend a visit!!!! Ther own lager ales and more . !!!

Great place, nice vibe, tasty bar staff and friendly beer, just can't decide which is my new BBF (best beer friend).

This is how we remember craft beer pubs. Friendly, unpretentious, a very mixed and interesting clientele. Clever staff who clock everybody at the bar and serve in turn,not according to how tall or loud you are. Lively and boozy in a good way, not a sad-alcohol-dependence kind of way. Weirdest pub game ever out the back and friendly folk who don't hog the table and offer to let you learn. Excellent beer. Live music, events, and bits of food.

An appendage of legendary Brighton gin joint The Hand in Hand... also features a traditional Toad in the Hole...er... game? Basically, a cross between darts, horseshoes and tiddly winks... only played in Sussex i belive ... odd, but surprisingly addictive...

Love that Hand Brew have taken over. Looking forward to many great pints.
