The Tipi in South Gloucestershire

Staff so friendly and welcoming. Food great with lots of choice we were recommended to have 3 each. Hot dishes came hot. Lovely and warm in there

Visited the tipi last night as a hotel guest would not recommend very disappointed very poor quality & cold food which should have been warm. The waitress offered to remove something from the bill but failed to do so when it was produced to us and then a service charge of nearly £8 was added when it was evident we didn’t enjoy our meal- tips should be given for good experience not expected. We were also challenged when we tried to use our £60 credit included as part of our booking package which was awkward we were told this was only available if we charge the meal to the room?! but we had not authorised a card for That because we read bad reviews on the Hotel on Tripadvisor saying that people had been overcharged or charged for things on the room that shouldn’t have been. We left hungry & disappointed £84 for cold small picky plates I could have got better pre packed food from the supermarket nicer, save your money & go up a proper restaurant

This review is for the wonderful afternoon tea given to us as compensation for the problems we experienced at an earlier visit to the TiPi. I understand things have changed that caused the problems so thank you Sam. I tried to take down my previous poor review so hope this one helps. Regards Bill

Having had my reservation for dinner for on 8th July 20235 at the TiPi restaurant cancelled twice with online booking I travelled there to make the reservation personally where I was informed that it was not the hotels fault as on line booking were handled by a third party company, I told the receptionist they need to have a word as it's not working . The food was quite good but expensive, there was a issue over the bill so I ended up paying by sending a cheque and as I had so much trouble over the booking asked for a good will gesture of a voucher. I never received a reply, management needs a shake up !!
