Beer garden was fantastic, free pac man 2024 update. Too cold for the beer garden but I had a burger this time, delicious! Still got pacman

Visited the place with my research colleagues. The ambiance was nice and pleasantly cozy, and the seating was comfortable. With multiple large-screen TVs, I would say a great spot to watch sports. The staff was friendly and professional. I tried their chicken stack, which was okay. The lemonade was refreshing.

Great food and cocktails. Good selection of drinks available. We normally go for food. The last few family birthdays have been spent here and we've always had great service! Recommend the veggie haggis loaded fries. Amazing 🤤 Peach and blood Orange moonshine is delicious too.

Nice and comfortable pub, not too noisy. Good choice of food and beers. A great option for a quiet evening in Dundee.

Visit with friends after finishing university. Staff were polite and friendly, offering to take a photo of the four of us. Food was tasty, as were the drinks

I arrived at tinsmiths after my meal at Tony Macaronis. I decided to order a pint of Moretto. it was decent. I had hit the three pint sweet spot. The girls I was with were having cocktails so I decided to order my favourite cocktail: the Long Island ice tea. The bald bartender with the moustache finally decided to acknowledge me after 90 seconds on TikTok. I was disappointed to hear they did not sell them, so I requested a drinks menu. He told me ‘what you see is what you get’ in between brief glances at his phone. I looked up confused at the shots menu behind the bar. ‘Really, you guys don’t have a drink menu ?’ I replied. He told me ‘Acutally mate, You’re ratchet’. I wasn’t sure how to respond. Being the polite person I am I decided to leave and not press the matter. Instead I decided to leave the first trip advisor review of my life. All the other staff were lovely. Urinal was out of order and the toilets were dirty.

The froth was of a respectable quality, feeling exactly as froth should be - not too airy, not too thick. While the temperature certainly could have been improved, being a little on the cool side, the chocolatiness was excellent, and the consistency quite respectable, save for the bottom - a common side effect of mediocre temperature. Adding in sugar is recommended, making the drink quite sweet and delicious. Overall, a very good hot chocolate - 7/10

Decen pub n grub and a free Pacman game

Had a great evening in here about a week ago. The layout has completely changed since the days when it was Tally's. A very smart refurbishment but still the same friendly welcoming atmosphere.

Went to watch the Scotland football game with the family. The food was absolutely fantastic. Service great. I would recommend it.👍

It's student pub grub. It's a nice enough wee place with fair sized portions, nice staff.

Another great pub to just chill... They have few games you can play and the music is really nice. I wish they had student discount but we love going there either way.

Food is good - can't complain about that but service was very slow and inattentive. We perhaps made the mistake of sitting in a corner table out of sight of the bar so we kept getting "forgotten about" so I had to keep prompting the staff. A rather rowdy sports team arrived mid visit and the staff seemed more interested in keeping them fed and watered rather than us.

Excellent halloumi burger with chips and a really good pint. Halloumi burgers can be hit or miss, often with the cheese being sliced too thick. This burger had thin grilled slices of cheese layered with roasted peppers and salad. Chips were amazing. Good value and highly recommended

We required a quick snack prior to an evening lecture in Dundee University and the Tinsmith staff did not disappoint. The chilli regular was massive and filled an empty stomach at an amazing price. I cannot imagine the size of the grande. Extremely pleasant and accommodating staff looked after us in a welcoming environment. Two screens were showing European football and entertaining a large party. Excellent atmosphere. Thank you.

Great atmosphere amazing food at a great price. The Loaded fries are a must and the portion size is great. The kids menu will keep the little ones happy along with the free Pac-Man arcade machine

Nice and friendly and good standard of bar food

The place is worth visiting, especially if you are looking for a place to drink some beer or eat deep fried mars bar. During weekends the pub is quite crowded. Anyway, they have good beer, cider and food.

Excellent bar, friendly staff and atmosphere. Nice beers, good food. Only downside was they finished food at 8 and refused to serve us at about 8.05 but I suppose you have to have rules.

Smelly toilets and lack of toilet roll let them down

Popped in with a group of us for a few beers. Turned up on a Saturday night and it was busy and cramped. The football was on as well so there was only that atmosphere. Seemed like an alright place for university students to hang out. It's kinda cool. Nothing really wrong about the place more just me picking the wrong time and place. Certainly willing to return on a less crazy evening to give it a second chance and proper review.

The other Night my 2 friends and I entered the bar for a drink we are all in our 50's the Bar was crowded with students... years before we went to this bar which was then called Tally ho a great bar anyway we sat at the back at the long tables on the other long table there was a crowd of students packed there . As I returned from the Gents the bar staff advised my friends that the table was Reserved we didn't see any sign but there could have been so we moved to a quieter table. after 40 minutes we noticed the table which was seemingly reserved nobody was sitting there it was Empty I think 🤔 this was Agesism Auld guys in a young pub 🤪🤣🤣🤣 I should've just stuck to the Clansman... 😇 😉

Nice place to hangout, very polite staff, coffee is good. Didn't tasted beer but there were number of people drinking beer, so must be good as well.

We were looking for a dog-friendly place to have lunch and Tinsmith did not disappoint. There was a match on and students in so it was a bit noisy and the dog hid under our table. The staff brought a bowl of water for him and made sure he was ok. Tbh - it's not often you see a great dane trying to hide under a booth-style table with 4 people sitting around it!! The food was good and the service excellent. 4 stars because it was noisy, otherwise we were very happy.

Had nice food here ,chilli beef nachos were great .Pulled pork was good too .Lovely place ,just 2 girls serving and they were running about all over the place serving food a drinks .They were trying their best but not fair on them being short staffed .Queues at bar to pay ,queues to order drinks at bar .Needs Management to sort this place out .It was taken over I believe so won't keep people coming back if service is not good .Staff were lovely but they were unable to cope with all the customers on a Friday Night .

We had a coffee and it was good.

Bright and modern with comfy sofas. Popular with students. Cocktails were OK for the price but not as good as more expensive places in town. Staff were helpful and friendly.

To save anyone else a wasted journey this place has now been closed for some time.

Nice place been before and it was great but this time had booked a table and tried to order, got told it was table service. Waited atleast 30 minutes still nothing. Finally we got a drink but couldn't even finish it because we had somewhere else booked. Bit disappointed cause they have really nice food and atmosphere.

Tinsmiths is one of my favourite pubs in Dundee. The food is always really good all the staff members are very nice. The choice of drink is excellent. If you visit this pub you have to have a jam donut shot!

Lovely burger! First time beck visiting since my Tally days. So many memories.

The food in here is second to none. Having visited lots of places with the Eat out to help out scheme, this was no doubt the best. Honestly, fresh and fantastic food. The service was perfect too. I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

Even throughout lockdown this place hasn't lost its chilled out and buzzy vibe. Can't wait for restrictions to be eased!

Coffee here is really nice and the staff is friendly. Coffee is cheap too. Also I've only tried one thing on their food menu but it was damn good.

The pies are great. Had mine with mash, peas and gravy it was lovely. Not only do they taste good but there's lots of gravy to go with the mash. Unassuming place friendly staff. Only downside is that they don't do real ale

This is a great bar, never had food here but the drinks and music make it a great place to start the night before moving on or end the night with some shots and dj.

Fui a The Tinsmith el sábado por la mañana para probar el desayuno, ya que soy un gran fanático del desayuno. Recientemente, en Dundee, he tenido problemas para conseguir un escocés completo decente, ya que la mayoría de los lugares en los que he estado últimamente parecen servir comida que se ha cocinado previamente y se ha mantenido caliente hasta que alguien lo ordena. El menú de desayuno de Tinsmiths es genial. Algo para todos. Todos pedimos el escocés completo. Sí, esperamos un rato, pero cuando llegó, valió la pena la espera. La rebanada de Haggis y el budín negro eran para morirse. Todo estaba recién preparado y caliente. Tengo que dar una mención especial a los maravillosos sabrosos champiñones perfectamente cocinados. El bollo tattie era crujiente y delicioso. El tocino, salchichas y tomates abundantes y de gran calidad. Huevo frito exactamente como me gusta. El personal amable y servicial. Creo que The Tinsmith está a punto de convertirse en mi lugar de desayuno a partir de ahora. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Really good breakfast for a good price

A great friendly place with a great menu. Staff were very helpful and our meals arrived very quickly. Had a great atmosphere and the prices were very reasonable. I’d definitely recommend the sausage and mash. Very tasty.

We went here, just to try it out, for a drink after work and ordered a couple of snacks. Food was good (I had the chips with chilli, something I don't normally have), just a small portion and it was really nice. All 4 of us enjoyed what we had. Staff were pleasant, food arrived reasonably fast and the pub was quite busy, with a few larger groups of people - most of them sat outside - good atmosphere.Well worth a visit, even if you are alone, you will feel comfortable!

Do not like food. Soup was off. Other complaint about food I will not mention. Will not eat there again.

Was here for a function. Staff catered very efficiently for about thirty people. Standard bar lunch. We used this place before for similar numbers and went back because they coped well with the numbers.
