Fisher and Donaldson in Dundee City

I visited to try their famous traditional fudge donut! It's famous for a reason!! It's DELICIOUS and filled to the brim with cream custard. It's cheap too. This is a fuss-free, casual cafe, I'd recommend takeaway and eating the treats by the river in the sun.

The place is very nice and the staff was friendly. We had breakfast sitting at the table and purchased some desserts to take away. All very good, both savory and sweet. Absolutely worth trying.

Everything was delicious! Lots of choice in pastries and reasonable prices.

Bought a roll midday only to find it was use by the day before also the cakes purchased were not the same quality as previous purchases, not the standards of a good baker also very poor customer services, trading standards have said they will investigate this matter of selling out of date produce.

I can honestly say it's the worst I've ever had .. Wanted a Cossant ended getting toast as they had none left my husband wanted a sausage roll none left this 12 20 .. Midday what are they going to do the rest of the day.. Oh and its alleged to be a Baker

I bought several things to take away, which were Dundee cake. Fudge doughnut, and marzipan truffle finger. I also bought a steak and haggis pie, which were all delicious. The staff were friendly.

Quite simply the Best Fudge Doughnuts on Earth! The rest it fantastic too.

Love the tuna baguettes, though they always run out quickly. Friendly staff, helped me to charge my phone during a low battery crisis. Comfy and cosy seating area.

I visit here twice a week to get my specific bread etc I'm usually served by Sean he so helpful and happy. Support your local shops and on the Perth Road you have such a good choice

They have the best fudge doughnuts. It has now become my morning routine to pick some from the bakery everyday! And its super affordable too :)

After visiting multiple Fisher and Donaldson shops I can confidently say that the Perth Road one is the best! Staff are always lovely and happy to help! The shop is always clean and tidy and cake presentation on trays is lovely, only on one occasion shop was unorganised and unclean and trays were filthy and the staff member working was abrupt (a bigger lassie with pink hair and an accent).

You can't hide quality and this place doesn't. Excellent standard and everything that a bakery should offer. Pleasant staff. Nice place

Pasó a ver la panadería mientras caminaba por la carretera de Perth y se detuvo, la zona de asientos en la parte de atrás se siente como un café parisino, una gran selección de pasteles en el mostrador y solo 7 para dos cafés y pasteles. Servicio amable y volveremos :)

Nothing beats a fresh morning roll. Using this shop more more. Good selection of fresh cakes too. Warm and friendly staff and great prices.

Best custard doughnuts in town!

Cuando visitamos este café por primera vez, nos sentimos muy decepcionados con el personal con su actitud que no podía importarles menos y sin ninguna prisa por servirnos. Nuestro pedido tardó tanto en ser arreglado y servido que pensamos en salir. . . . lo siento, no lo hicimos porque la comida que finalmente nos sirvieron fue como una cena de perros sin ninguna presentación. De las dos mujeres en servicio, una quedaba para atender a los clientes de la tienda / cafetería y la otra solo quería pararse y conversar, obviamente no volveremos allí.

No estoy seguro si tiene CCTV en su sucursal de Perth Road, Dundee, pero si es así, sugeriría ver el metraje de hoy (10/8/19) entre las 9: 50 am - 10: 00 am y ser testigo de mí y de otra persona. El cliente finalmente acaba de salir de la tienda en momentos separados debido a que lo dejaron esperando para ser atendido y ni siquiera lo reconocieron una vez durante al menos unos pocos minutos. Y todo esto mientras la señora detrás del mostrador seguía casualmente con su llamada telefónica privada hablando sobre la necesidad de hacer el trabajo en su baño, lo que tendría para cenar esa noche, y así sucesivamente. En el momento en que pensé que estaba "finalmente" a punto de servirme y pronunció las palabras mágicas "Lo siento, hay un cliente aquí, tendré que irme". En cambio, continuó una conversación completamente nueva. En mi opinión, esto no es solo un servicio al cliente muy pobre y también es extremadamente grosero.

Lovely, hand made treats and savoury foods for very good prices. Never eaten in but never had anything taken away that wasn’t lovely. Staff can sometimes be a bit lacking in banter but often very friendly and kind

Was staying nearby so used this shop for treats for me and my grandchildren. They had cakes I had pies. Everybody loved it. Service friendly and efficient. Great food and easy on the pocket. Can't wait to go back.

Claire macht einen tollen Service. Die Backwaren schmecken gut, der Kuchen ist lecker. Gut, Brötchen wie in Deutschland, dass können Bäckereien auf der Insel nicht wirklich. Aber trotzdem sie schmecken.

This cafe is attached to a bakery and has good straight forward service and food. Good honest service and reasonable prices. It also has good Wi Fi.

I love the selection of rolls the shop provides I usually purchase for my neighbour and myself. Dr Floyd and sesame rolls and a bag of bridge rolls are usually bought along with a Rhubarb tart to enjoy with custard at home. The little tea room at the back serves lovely filled rolls hot or cold n the selection of cakes are heavenly. The staff are very welcoming and always have a smile to welcome you. I won't shop anywhere else

Served by the most charming lady behind the bakery counter, we had tea, coffee and cakes which were all first class. The WiFi is free to use and works well. The decor is mirrored well to make the whole shop look bigger than it is; the overall decor is smart but casual, colourful and yet not gaudy. All in all, a lovely treat off a very busy street. Dundee's Getting it's Act Together.

COFFEE TOWERS BUNS! GET IN MY FACE! YES!!!!!

This is a favourite of my shops on the Perth Road I normally buy a selection of rolls (oaties, poppy seed and Dr Floyd rolls are the best). Their choice of larger cakes for any occasion are delicious. Nothing else can beat a stop off in the cafe at the back of shop for a cuppa and a bacon roll. The staff are so friendly and always there to help. Ladies you do a fab Job thanks

popped in for a coffee between meetings, wanted a Latte and teacake, the fact that I had to wait while the girl served customers in shop first after taking my order, because the other assistant went on her break, was annoying enough, but once I got it, and was sitting observing staff, I was shocked to then see assistants straightening up counters, cakes rolls, meat products, ALL WITHOUT USING TONGS/GLOVES, every single item was touched with their bare hands !!!!!! SHOCKING, and bearing in mind they are handling money inbetween , wish I hadn't had that teacake :( Don't think I will be back in a hurry.

For tea and cakes this is the best place in the town. Great cup of tea, fab service and cakes to die for. The fudge doughnuts are simply the best.

Popped into Dundee on the way past specifically to go to F&D. Breakfast of tea and a bacon roll and a big pile of cakes to take back up to Aberdeen. The service was lovely. Such a friendly lady on Monday morning. My son commented on how nice it was to be served by such a friendly person. Best bacon I have had in a while and as for the cakes......Always amazing. Coffee Towers every time. And Rhubarb Pies (they call them tarts but they aren't). And fudge doughnuts. And Yum Yums. And Mille Feuille .........!

The bread really is the best you can get in this area. The cakes are superb The gateaux is especially good for a special occasion

Only shop in this bakers every so often as it's not local for me. Their bread and cakes are lovely, lovely selection to choose from although a bit more expensive than my usual bakers. Have bought more frequently since discovering they supply bread to one of my favourite cafe restaurants, Jessie's Kitchen in Broughty Ferry.

You can tell a lot about a city from the quality of its signature bakery treats. On one view, Dundee might be famous for the "peh" and Dundee cake, but I like to think that Fisher and Donaldson are the purveyors of at least two...

Really good cakes - BUT very expensive and it seems a pre requisite of the job to have really stroppy staff
