Great venue, I came to watch a covers band ‘Duck for Cover’ so came on the basis of not eating at the venue. I cannot comment on food. Grace the bar lady of the evening is a credit to the business, she is so lovely and really welcoming. Service was efficient for drinks even though it was quite busy. The pub has plenty of outdoor seating too.

Six of us went here for Sunday dinner recently and the food was fantastic. There was a choice of chicken, beef and lamb - you could have just one meat - or some of two or all three meats, generously served with roast potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and cauliflower cheese. Extra gravy was not a problem and the food arrived piping hot with friendly service. The locals in the pub were very friendly. Worth the walk up the hill past the Guild Hall to find this welcoming pub.

My Wife and I went for a light lunch, we both chose burgers from the bar menu mainly due to the fact there small. the normal burger must be the size of a dinner plate. The taste was just total gourmet nosh and loads of it plus chips and salad, my mouth is watering just thinking about the taste. Maria the Landlady makes then from fresh, they must be the best in Essex. This pub has such a great atmosphere, nice people, cheap and cheerful and has just had a revamp. Give it a go you will not be disappointed.

Welcome to The Three Tuns where the customer is always right. Never have I experienced a public house that is not only a gem, but truly one of a kind. The proprietors don't just treat you like a customer, but as friends. This probably explains why so many of the locals eat and drink here so often.Aside from cracking bands and a fantastic selection of drinks and food, The Three Tuns is one of the local football club's sponsors (Finchingfield Rovers) and for years have put so much into the community. Mike and Maria have made this pub a village institution and they ought to be proud. So whether its a meal with the family, drinks with friends, a fantastic sunday roast, or catching the game with your mates in the newly refurbished and extended bar, The Three Tuns really is where its at.

The pub is our local in the village of Finchingfield. It is run by an East Ender called Mike.He has brought the same warm atmosphere of the real Cockney Pub with him. It is always friendly and he makes visitors very welcome. He provides a large quantity of bar snacks free at Sunday Lunch Time, and the beer is very well kept, with two draught ales on offer. Live music is provided on either Friday or Saturday nights most weekends, and the pub also sponsors the local football team Finchingfield Rovers FC. The food is good honest “ pub grub “ well cooked by Mike’s wife Maria. The Sunday Roast is very good. So, if you are in North Essex drop into The Three Tuns in Finchingfield. The pub lets rooms so you could stay the night.

Myself and a group of friends recently visited the three tubs pub for a few friendly beverages Upon arrival I was very disappointed to be greeted by a younger group of people that were very loud and just generally making the place looked messy after a few minuets it seemed as if they were getting ready to leave little did I know they were about to get another round if drinks.I was mortified to see a young girl approach the bar and quite honestly she didn't look much older than 15 to be served alcohol without being asked for proof of age. As she returned to the table to make a remark to her friends that " she loves being served here as it's the only place she can get served under age " .We also dared to eat here to be presented with cold food and dirty plates. With what I found to be rude bar staff who were more concerned with chatting to the underage drinkers than paying any attention to there other customers .It's safe to say I won't be returning again and will be reporting them for the underage drinking this should not be aloud !!

We were looking for a proper pub restaurant to meet friends from Somerset during our annual visit to family in Braintree from our home in Cyprus. Looking on Tripadvisor, The Three Tuns looked worth a try. Most important the food was freshly cooked, superb and reasonably priced. The owner, Mike, made us welcome the moment we walked in the door. He was playing 'Silver Machine' by Hawkwind which was a great start but the ladies soon put a stop to that! Mike would play anything we wanted from a huge and varied library at the volume we requested. The food was expertly cooked by Mike's wife and he came and chatted to us when his time permitted but he was neither over chatty nor fawning. We would strongly suggest that anyone living in or visiting the area should pay The Three Tuns a visit.

Mike and Maria were fabulous hosts and everybody in the pub made us feel really welcome and we had wonderful couple of evenings. The en-suite room was great - the bathroom was spotless and the sitting area with the wide screen TV, coffee, tea biscuits and water was an unexpected bonus. We had an excellent full English each morning but when we left on the Sunday we wished we had left room for a Sunday roast – it looked fantastic!!
