Took friends out for a Thankyou meal Starters white bread with prawn cocktails not fresh . Mains meat left under hot lamps started to dry out small amount of veg roasted potatoes hard stuffing overpowered with herbs sweets banoffee chow bun ice cream and caramelised banana the banana had not been caramelised small issues but spoiled the day

Came here with No 1 son after popping into Bournemouth. It was sunny so we were able to sit outside. The food was good. Pizza and fish finger sandwich. Fair price and good service.

The pub caught our eye as we drove past as it looks stunning with its thatched roof and beautiful garden area, inside was just as charming. We had a child’s meal and bar food which were generous sizes and good value for money . We have to say we had food envy looking at the other meals coming out and the menu was extremely appealing!! On top of all of the staff were so friendly and very accommodating. We will come back again!

Went here for a family reunion lunch. Everyone was happy with the setting. The food was good and reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Would definitely come again.

Firstly, if I were able to, I would rate this Good, but not Very Good. We recently moved to Verwood, so we have been trying out the local hostelries, one by one, to find a regular spot for Sunday lunch. This one was OK, but we will probably keep on looking for now. It is a lovely old thatched building with plenty of parking. Our waiter was welcoming and friendly. We started with some Brie bites to share. These were very nice with a ginger chutney with just the right amount of kick. My wife then went for the Turkey roast, I had the Lamb rump and we had a portion of cauliflower cheese to share. My wife said her Turkey was very nice. The Lamb Rump, I thought, was a little tough and I could really have done with a steak knife to cut it. The vegetables were OK except that I thought that the "ruffled garlic and herb roast potatoes" were a disappointment. I expected a crispy, crunchy exterior and a soft interior. As with the rump, I could have really done with a sharper knife to cut into them. They were not at all crunchy and a bit stodgy. For dessert we had mini crème Brulés and coffee. All in all, not a bad meal but it could have been better.

Our waitress, Apena, was very welcoming. She has served us many times, and is always very polite. Today we had a delicious roast dinner with all the trimmings, couldn't fault it.

We are regular visitors to the pub, and we have always recommended it to friends and family. The pub was not that busy, but the service was very poor. We booked the table for 7 pm and our meal was served at 8.45 pm. The food was good. My husband ordered fish and chips, which were good, but hardly any chips underneath the fish. I received a 40% off mains voucher on line, which I mentioned to the waitress when we arrived. We were a table of 7, but we felt we were not “important customers”, hence the poor service. I think we are going to have a break and go somewhere else instead for a while.

Last weekend, my family and I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at the Three Legged Cross pub, and it was an amazing experience. The highlight of our visit was the incredible cuisine crafted by chef Tomas. I loved the pan-fried sea bass, which was bursting with flavour. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his beef burger too. Our daughter devoured her tomato pasta and said it was delicious. The Aperol Spritz and the chocolate brownie that I had were delightful, adding the perfect touch to a wonderful meal. A big thank you to the team at Three Legged Cross for making my birthday so special!

We spent Father’s Day here and had such a lovely experience. Alana was fantastic and so attentive. We will be back. The roast was delicious.

A quiet Monday evening so placed in a nice 2 person table in an empty room. Five minutes later we were joined close by, by a noisy family group of 6. Why? My lasagne had little mince and my partners meat pie had hefty chunks of steak. Not the best meal, sorry.

What a lovely late afternoon tea, myself I had a beautiful medium rare sterlion steak, 🤤 🥩 could of easily had another it was that beautiful down with a Guinness great weather, great company, great pub, great service, and to the guys and girls that work there 👍🙌. Went with the wife for a special occasion,well this had to be the worst steak meal ever,my steak was just grissall and looked more like a dog's dinner,and my wife asked for her steak to be well done,but as she cut into it,blood was ozing out,which made her feel very unwell,we will never ever be going back there again!

We visited the Three Legged Cross for the first time today and the food was excellent but the service wasn’t great. When we arrived no one greeted us. I had to grab someone from behind the bar to say we had a table and then he showed us to it. We had a toddler so a colouring sheet was provided but there was no offer of a high chair so my husband had to look for one and the put the dining chair aside as we didn’t know what to do with it and I had to request crayons as we weren’t given any. Ordering food was prompt however when I approached the member of staff to request sauces she was behind the bar and said ‘I’m just doing this’ to which I replied ‘no rush’ as there was no rush, a simple ‘be right with you,’ or something a bit more polite would’ve been suffice. As I said, the food was amazing but after we finished no one was around to ask for a bill so I went to the bar and waited for quite sometime before someone was available to serve me. Annoyingly I had downloaded the app prior to the visit and had hoped to get some money off but the server was quite blunt and said ‘you need to wait 24 hours to activate it’. It was a shame as I clearly had the code on the app but there was no allowance made, which I understand, but for me to be awkwardly scrambling to try and get the code, it would’ve been nicer to have had a ‘I’m so sorry unfortunately that’s how the codes work’ or something instead of just bluntly stating the 24 hour rule and waiting. Either way food was great, service was questionable.

This pub has nice decor and good service, but the food is disappointing. Baked Camenburt with artisan bloomer bread, was only warm with thin normal sliced bread. Grilled Chicken and Vegatable Penang Curry with Jasmin Rice, but on the plate was a tasty but only just warm curry with dry overcooked chicken with a white burger size slab that could once have been rice that would totally lift off the plate with a fork or slice with a knife. The manager did take this off the bill, but only after saying this was normal for "sticky" rice. Shame, food was a let down

After our walk in moors valley country park ,we found this little pub and we definetly recommend this place to everyone.

We both ordered Signature Burgers which used to be excellent only to get a burger with what I would describe as compact meat ie solid which happens when mince meat is mixed with cereal and tastes like rubber. Fries were not good either. It is better to put the price up a bit than offer inedible food.

We only popped in for a quick drink as we had moved to the area. Good welcome by bar staff. My pint of Tribute was a little cold but nice tasting. Good price for two drinks. Comfy armchairs. The bar staff could turn the volume down on conversations between themselves though.

Had a lovely three course meal for Mother’s Day. Food was delicious and arrived promptly despite it being fully booked out. Our waitress, Alena, was very pleasant and helpful. Just had lunch with my mum and family which I can only describe as terrible. The restaurant was so hot we all wanted to pass out with no fresh air. When asking about the Mother’s Day special of a free glass of Prosecco not only did our server not have a clue about it they couldn’t even tell us what ap to download. As for the food, was awful. Kids food served on scorching hot plates, beef massively over cooked, veg hardly cooked -and if you want to call hard cauliflower with a bit of grated cheese on cauliflower cheese then why not! There needs to be huge improvements and some team training definitely needed

We have been to the Three Legged Cross numerous times and so chose it to celebrate our Grandaughter's 10th birthday. The service was unusually Offhand and Indifferent. There was no Gluten free bread for my Son's soup, nor even a bun to accompany his Beefburger - leaving the plate somewhat empty of much except space. The charge, however, remained at £13.50p which was scandalous in the circumstances. There was no apology for these omissions, despite the fact that there has been no problem ever before! The waitress "serving" my Main meal actually held the tray at such an angle the pie nearly landed in my lap and the chips were deposited all over the table! She merely stood there then asked lazily "What do you want me to do?". Again there was no apology. Needless to say, we will not be going back until and unless the Reviews improve and we can be sure of the welcome and good food we have always enjoyed previously! Such a pity as they used to be spot on!!

First of all it's a beautiful pub, quite quiet with just a few locals in on our visit.I was very happy with how dog friendly it was and how the staff were very welcoming towards them.Special thanks to Becky for going out of her way to make my birthday extra special.

We had a table for 4 booked for 8pm booked for Saturday 19th.I received a booking reminder on Friday.When we arrived we found the pub closed with a note on the door stating closed due to a power outage.Not their fault, but why didn't they contact us to save us the trip and allow us to find an alternative?Very poor customer service.

No sooner sat down than drinks order "demanded". Not too unhappy about this, but had only taken one sip of wine, when main course arrived. Had hoped for a leisurely meal with time to catch-up with friends, in reality we were in, had eaten and out within an hour and a quarter. Would have stayed for more drinks and perhaps desert but felt really rushed throughout the meal. Ironic as only a few tables full, so there was no reason to rush us. Completely different to our previous experience a few weeks ago which is why we had come back.

Just sat down and the server wanted our drinks order with no explanation of what there was.Meal choices were limited and 3 out of the 4 choices were sold out at 7.30. Previously lamb was sold out on a Sunday at 2pm. Fish and chips was ok but even that was out of stock. Pork belly was good.Prices were reasonable but won’t be going back as this visit was to give them a second chance.

I went to the Three Cross for a quiet evening meal on New Years Day. I ordered the pork belly for £16. It was terrible - half of the pork belly was sloppy fat, the crackling was non existent and was rubbery but the worst was the accompanying jus. When I poured it out of the jug it flopped onto my plate as a lump of cold jelly. It was inedible. When the waitress collected my plate she admitted the pork had been very fatty recently, I explained the other concerns and she apologised and said she would tell the chef. Nothing else was said or offered. When I went to pay the bill I again informed the barman of the problems with the food. He apologised when I said I thought the jus had been microwaved from the day before and explained to me that the chef should not do that. Only when I said it was pretty gross did he offer to take my drink (an orange and lemonade costing £2.10) off my bill. No offer to reduce the food bill was made. As only half the food was edible I've had to go home and cook again as I am still hungry. Such a shame as the building is lovely but this is the first, and last, time I go to the Three Cross.

We love this pub, the food is great and the menu extensive, there’s always something to please all of us. Lovely friendly staff who work hard and always make a fuss of our dog with water and a biscuit! Nicely furnished and a friendly busy atmosphere.

By the looks of the other reviews we must have come when the chef had an off day, or he wasn't there at all and they pulled someone in with absolutely no cooking experience. Roast was awful, the Cauliflower cheese was an absolute joke it was just a massive lump of Cauliflower with a little bit of cheese at the bottom of the plate.

Because of a last minute hitch we ended up at three legged cross for a party of ten adults. Very accommodating, sat us in a seated area for drinks while waiting for a large table to go. I opted for the 3 meat roast, I’m dairy free but was still expecting a good meal, very disappointed, no pigs in blankets, but stuffing? I’m sure last time I looked bacon was fine to have, meal wasn’t hot, just warm.Being dairy free the one thing I always crave because of no dessert is a coffee, no chance today, no dairy free milk alternative. All in all though, well done for fitting us in but not sure if there will be a return visit.

Three Legged Cross is probably a little bit further than we would usually travel as we live in Bournemouth and there is no shortage of places to eat. However we felt like a change and booked Sunday Lunch for 17-30 not really lunch time. Welcomed at the door and shown to our table with a do you know what you would like to drink. They had run out of lamb but at that time of day hardly surprising but everything else was still on. Drinks arrived and shortly after that our meals which were piping hot and very enjoyable, I asked for Horseradish and some more gravy and both appeared in an instant. We both enjoyed our meals and the attentiveness of our waitress Becky and Abby who was even good enough to try and sort out the Vintage Inn app on my phone for me. We would both recommend this pub if you live in the area or are just simply passing through as it stands on the main road, both the food and service were excellent.

So many cock ups, !! wrong drink , wrong food. Ordered White wine, got Red asked for extra gravy, no gravy arrived, asked for horseradish, got mint sauce, ordered Cauliflower Cheese, got a bowl of roast potatoes!!! Roast Beef, very fatty & Belly of Pork very tough. Food tepid.Waited all day for our roast, what a disappointment. Left hungry as couldn’t eat this awful lunch. We’ve tried so many times to give The Three Legged Cross the benefit of the doubt, but once again we’ve been proved right. Manager blamed the suppliers of their food ????? Really……. Nothing like passing the buck.Between this pub & The St Leonard’s Hotel we don’t stand a chance of a good meal ☹️

Great pub to visit after a day exploring Moors Valley. It was our two kids birthdays so we booked a table for 4pm we had family travelling back up to London and west Dorset so had a meal before we parted. Staff were very pleasant, lovely clean pub, food delicious and good value for the portions. Nothing not to dislike, very impressed and will be back. Thank you.

Really enjoyed our lunch here- I had the country chicken sandwich which was delicious (albeit a bit small?) and my husband had the chicken pie which he said was gorgeous. He also had a crumble for puffing which again he very much enjoyed. We were served by a very friendly and efficient waitress (Helen?)- thank you. This would have been a 5 star review had our welcome been a bit different , when we arrived we were sort of left hovering at the door without even a glance from two staff behind the bar for what seemed like ages. One of these staff members actually brought our food out and failed to ask if we wanted sauces etc; not great customer service from him am afraid. Beautiful, authentic Dorset country surroundings.

We stayed at a local campsite and booked here for a Sunday Roast and we weren't disappointed! Thoroughly enjoyed the beef and accompaniments but did find it slightly strange to get roasted pepper and courgette with it, but hey ho!Starters great, mains great, desserts fabulous!

Pub itself is lovely, and waitress couldn’t have done anymore for us. However, the food was a little disappointing. My partner’s ribeye steak was very chewy and gristly and my Cajun Chicken pizza did not have many toppings on and seemed to be a little undercooked as the middle was quite soggy. Was such a shame as have visited a few times previously and have had beautiful meals so was a little disappointed that this was different

my partner organized a family dinner for 10 of us here last night .on entering the pub we were greeted by a very helpful young lady and quickly served us our drinks at the bar while the table was made ready , which was in a separate room .all evening we we had excellent service and never had to wait for drinks or food .the food was of excellent standard and we all thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely go back and recommend in the future .well done to all the staff

After a long day in Moors Valley we almost opted for a take-out but decided to pop out to the local pub the Three Legged Cross.In short the food was great, the service was quick and attentive (Becky was very helpful and informative), and the pub itself was a pleasant place to be for the early evening. Our daughter also polished off her pasta in no time! Then, to finish things off, we had 'The Flowerpot' for dessert - highly recommended if you have a sweet-tooth!

Lovely meal as always. New pudding. Which was really lovely. White chocolate flower pot, soil crumb & edible flowers with a chocolate mousse and blackcurrant sorbet.

Had an evening meal here and felt welcomed from arrival. The staff were very friendly and although the restaurant was very busy, we never felt forgotten about and our orders were taken fairly quickly.One meal was slightly delayed, but we were advised the reason and how long it would take - this openness and honesty was much appreciated and the meal arrived very quickly afterwards.The food is amazing and the portions sizes are good, we also had desserts and these were equally as good.Would certainly recommend this restaurant and I would definitely return if I come back to this area.

Booked for a family Sunday lunch to celebrate Mum's birthday. Staff are brilliant. We must have sat in the 'dog zone'. We were surrounded by lots of barking. I asked if we could have another table. 'No trouble at all!' We ordered roast lunches. Food was fantastic and so was the service. Probably won't return due to the number of dogs and bad behaviour.

Amazing food and lovely settingHad a lunchtime sitting felt a little rushed as we kept having to send waitress back as we wernt ready to order. When desserts came they cleared half the plates before a member of the party had finished their dessert. Finally the bill just arrived without even asking for it we were a big table and we were done within the hour.

The saving grace with this pub/restaurant is the excellent food, the service however was very slow and when my friend's Creme Brulee arrived she asked for a teaspoon and the waitress came back to say they didn't have any !!! I wonder what we would have stirred our coffee with if we had ordered any ?

Have passed this pub many times and thought it looked lovely! Finally went in yesterday with family visiting us and was not disappointed. We were a large group of 7 and there was no problem seating us. Service was fab and timely and the food itself and presentation was gorgeous! Stayed at a campsite near by so did some research & was pleasantly surprised. We visited the pub 3 consecutive nights. Was made to feel welcome each time by the friendly staff. Ran out of all roasts except Turkey on our first visit which was a shame but those of us that had it thoroughly enjoyed it. One family member had the same burger 3 nights and banoffee pie which he also throughly enjoyed but there was an obvious change in chefs as the first night (sunday) was significantly skimpier than the last (Tuesday) on both dishes. We tried many dishes on the 3 nights and was happy with all food, flavours & service. Thank you

I honestly don’t know why some people are knocking the staff here, we came for dinner last night in the middle of a downpour so they were very busy but we were welcomed in by the manager and he could not have been more accommodating, Tara was such a lovely waitress and the food was quick and spot on.

Don’t be fooled by what looks like a beautiful thatch pub in the middle of the countryside. The experience definitely isn’t beautiful. The taller guy member of staff (manager I think) was extremely unhelpful, unfriendly and we didn’t feel welcome at all. The whole place has a gigantic chip on its shoulder and we won’t be visiting again. Poor vegan options. Poor selection of ale. Poor lager and poor vibes.

I booked a table here as a celebratory meal on our way home from our daughter’s graduation. Booked easily by telephone. The ceremony was longer than expected (covid compliant) and it was obvious that we would be late. A telephone call enabled us to alter the timing to later, the staff could not have been more helpful.Our meal was good, service friendly and bill reasonable. I am surprised to see negative reports about service as this was certainly not our experience. It will certainly be on our list of stopping places if we are in the area again. Thank you for making a lovely ending to a special day.

I took my husband and a friend out for Sunday lunch. Very disappointing over priced meals. Their roasts were dry and unappetising and all our vegetables were way overcooked. We don't like Al dente but the carrots etc were ridiculous! Soft and mushy. We debated over staying in and having a salad as it was a hot day, I wish we would have . Didn't complain at the time as there was much confusion over my Vintage app and needless to say I didn't get my points I was entitled to as well. What a complete con that app is. We won't be going back! Plenty of other restaurants in Dorset.

Took a friend for Sunday lunch today . OVERALL very disappointing ,with Dry turkey and Lamb and overcooked vegetables . Asked for horseradish sauce and it was delivered in a plastic tub .

I have used this pub on many occasions and I understand as holidaymakers are in will get busy but your bread-and-butter comes from regulars not holidaymakers seasons do you not make money or you around makes money and the lady here who must be either a manager or or something of the sort, is absolutely rude and vile. I’m really not interested in who works and who doesn’t work but what I am interested in the local pub been well run and locals been respected. Hiring of friends does not work and I shall not be using this pub nor shall I be getting any of the local communities to be meeting up at this pub. #whereisdave
