I live in Leeds and came up North visiting relatives, never tried this establishment in the past, I found the pub so friendly and the food excellent, will definitely use again .

Disappointed in Sunday lunch, very bland, needed to add lots of pepper to give a bit of flavour . Beef overcooked so very chewy. Served with seasonal vegetables which consisted of carrots, cabbage and frozen garden peas, definitely needs better choice in vegetables, also small portions. Spoonful of mash potatoes,1 small roast potatoes under a Yorkshire pudding

What can I say, was like a trip to a bad 80's restaurant! Big bland greasy food with 80's decor and leftover xmas lights to too off the 80's vibe. Was delighted to see a vegan menu but more than disappointed at the food that was offered! Huge portion of crap food is all i can say! The room smells of old chip fat too! If you like 'grub' such as big chuncky greasy chips, bland stodgy onion rings, parmos etc then this is your place! fill your boots!

We visited the pub to celebrate our son's birthday with a meal out. The pub was clean and well set out. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The menu was varied and food when ordered was served promptly. We all ordered different things, and we were all more than pleased with our choices. The sea bass was delicious. All in all, a very nice meal.

Horrendous, On a very sad occasion , buffet was late and very poor quality, had to ask twice for tea and coffee even though pre booked. Had pre ordered sweets , they never appeared at all. Staff did their best but it was chaos. Very poor value for money and we felt we had let our guests down .

Came with the family for a Mothers Day lunch. Service was fantastic. The food, unusually, less so. I’m putting this down to food being pre-ordered and perhaps not cooked fresh. The Yorkshire puddings were cold, bland and obviously not fresh. All family members who love Sunday lunches, left quite full plates. My pork was very thinly cut. Whilst we were asked if everything was ok to which we replied, ‘yes’ nothing from the Chef or staff asking why had we left so much food. Starters were nice. Normally this place is fantastic but we left disappointed and we hope it’s just a one-off.

Been going here on a regular basis for a few months now, and it never disappoints!! Tonight was the 1st night with the "new" menu, (most of the old favourites are still there, some with slight alterations, and some new dishes.) I had the lamb shank...came with mash & veg....the (much) better half had the sea bass, which came with leek fondue and crispy new potatoes. Is it possible to give 11 out of 10, because if it is, i will. Top class food, attentive but not invasive staff, and pleasant surroundings. Simply put, (as i said to the staff on leaving)...perfection on a plate x2!!

Not great, initially waited 35 minutes for a starter and then waiting an hour for the main. Starter wasn’t too bad, but the mains were a huge disappointment. Southern fried chicken burger was soggy and mushy, the fries were incredibly salty and some overcooked with some undercooked. The duck was insanely raw… was not asked how we would like it cooked. The kids food was decent but you can’t really get the kids menu wrong. The prices you pay for the quality you get is ridiculous, either the food quality needs sorting out or the prices need to be dropped dramatically.

Went for a festive lunch today and it was fully booked. Booked for 12pm and starter was served at 12:50 with main meal to follow at 13:45 and dessert at 14:50. This was a working lunch therefore part of the group had to leave early to get back. Very slow service. Two waiting staff on for a fully booked out service and also taking drink orders. Ordered the Ravioli, no description of a sauce with the dish but it arrived with one. It was fully of spicy peppers which I have an intolerance too. Sent it back explaining why and it came back with the same sauce on. Advised the waitress that I had an intolerance to peppers to which she was very rude and what I wanted her to do. I asked for the pasta plain without sauce again which it came back. By this time everyone else had finished their main meal and the pasta was cold. Awful. The cheesecake was like eating ice cream on a biscuit crumb but at least it was edible. Won’t be dining here again. The staff didn’t care.

We took my mother-in-law on her 80th birthday tea so an occasion when commenting truthfully at the time would’ve been embarrassing for her/risked spoiling her day. So we accepted the soggy battered tasteless fish and passed oven chips to my husband who didn’t realise his belly pork (£15.75) didn’t come with any. The black pudding accompaniment was inedible. We all discussed how disappointing it was then paid £60 for 3 mains and 3 drinks (£6.50 for a small wine!), all in all we felt conned. In our opinion this is poor quality freezer to oven food. On Wednesday we were at the Peppermill close by and there was no comparison. Never again.

The worst meal I have ever had in this place. Ordered a pie not only have they changed the look of the food but I could not cut through the hard overcooked dry meat. The curry was dry and as for the prawn cocktail starter it was a few prawns with a bit of sauce on served on 1 small lettuce leaf. I complained about the pie and it was changed to yet another slice of pie with the same issues.

Slow service, food very average, had tuna sandwich and the tuna was quite dry so couldn't manage to eat it all, chips cold. Coffee passable. Only went because there was a play area, certainly won't go again for food. Plenty of other places way better than Dobbies

This was our 3rd visit for Sunday Lunch..was fair price and can honestly say we thoroughly enjoyed everything on offer. There was plenty of veg to choose from, choice of 3 gravy and 2 different stuffings…great homemade yorkshires and the choice of fresh meat (not formed meats) which were tender…were best I have had in this area.. I know it used to be a great Pub but times have changed ..a lot of our local pubs are struggling.. Definetly going to try their other meals on offer especially with their delivery service...we haven’t been in the pub to socialise on an evening recently so can’t comment…but will certainly pop in when the weather gets better… as I do know their lager is not too bad on a lunch time….see you again soon

Owner is odd and acts like your an unwanted guest in their home, feels more like a membership club than a local. Has weird opening times. Has weird rules around “pre approved” children in after 9 o’clock. Used to be a good pub years ago now only half of it opens. It could be like the Derry, the car park is huge for it. Saturday nights are dead in there. Shame really.
