Open mic night told 3 songs. Some performers did much more. Get a proper gig don’t hog the stage. !!

Last night we had our rugby ladies Xmas party in the new outdoor bar. We had lovely food and drinks. Staff were amazing and made us feel very welcome 🤗 Thank you & see you again!

Hosted an event here.. Wow, we had the garden bar to ourselves and two staff members. The staff were lovely, changed the music, took pictures, managed all our requests quickly and they were super friendly as well always smiling! They had made the garden bar look super pretty, put crackers out. And lovely Christmas decorations. The food was tasty, and so much more than we though! Enough for everyone to go up twice! Honestly could fault it, what was really great is there's toilets in the gardrn bar, so you don't have to walk into the main pub. They made sure that no one came in and tried to join us, they could not do enough to make us feel special! Highly Recommend! We will 100% come back!

Popped in with husband and three kids.. and decided to get some food.. and my god! We were not disappointed! The food was amazing! I'd recommend the wings!! For the price we paid, the quality was outstanding! And we would definitely be back!! Even for the kids, they really enjoyed their food. Everything was cooked perfectly and the staff were lovely! Smiley, chatty, and accomodating. Not sure what other people are talking about in their reviews, this place has a great vibe.

Popped in for lunch on a bitterly cold day. The main room was warned by a lovely wood burner. We chose the special 2 course lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it- so nice to have something made in house and not what the brewery might dictate.

I was in two minds to book for food here for 14 of us, but from making the booking and pre ordering the food with the very helpful Georgia and Billy (they even did a couple of boards of cheese and biscuits for us). To having the meal on the Saturday night it was all very good. The Tripp is a traditional pub with a great atmosphere and live music, and a fab outdoor space for smokers. On arrival we were looked after by Marie, who was exceptional, really attentive and going the extra mile for us, and Billy (the manager on that night), also great. Even though is was a packed pub the food was brought out quickly and cleared quickly, and it was really tasty, a great choice on the menu and we had most of it! Marie made sure we were ready for our next course to be brought out so we didn't feel rushed or waiting, perfect service. Recommended; the Tripp Fish and Chips, the Mutton Curry (a bit more sauce maybe), Chicken Burger, Halloumi fries, Breads and dips, Gurberburger (but only if you love peanut butter!) the Soup, crab and marmite crumpets. The chips were the best I've had in a long time. The band that were on were very entertaining, there are bouncers around keeping a discreet eye on everyone and making it feel relaxed and safe. All in all a good night out!

Popped in for lunch. Ordered the scotch egg and steak wrap for hubby. I had halloumi fries and steak wrap. Omg the food was absolutely delicious. The steak wraps were absolutely to die for, I've tried wraps before that were a bit meh but every bite was as good as the last. Friendly and efficient service. Highly recommended

Having walked past The Thomas Tripp on a few occasions today we came in for food and were not disappointed. Luckily for us it was the start of a new menu today and after much deliberation we opted for the sharing platter. The platter consisted of prawn tempura, cod goujons, mussels, haddock and chips, whitiebait, squid and sauces. The food was delicious and such a generous portion. Can highly recommend and we will be back

I’m local and have visited for drinks in the past and never liked it. But our friends persuaded Us to join them for a fish dinner here, so we agreed, I thought it may have improved. Sadly, hasn’t. It is still the dirty smelly horrible place I remembered. When you walk into the bar, it absolutely stinks! Dirty sticky carpets, and sticky tables and dirty chairs, absolutely filthy toilets. The staff were aloof and ignored us. We decided not to eat here in the end and went elsewhere. I couldn’t imagine what the food would be like in an establishment with such poor hygiene levels. It doesn’t matter who has owned it in the past it’s always been a complete dump and I will never come here again.

We were due to eat dinner here - after walking into the bar area which smelt sour we waited over ten minutes for someone at bar to notice us/show us to our reserved table- the bar was practically empty. We weren’t even acknowledged either…. When one of the bartenders then dropped and smashed a bottle of wine accidentally I knew we would not be served for a good while longer so feeling very unwelcome took our custom elsewhere.

Visited on 27/8 for Sunday dinner. Arrived on time, 5pm, kitchens closed at 6pm. so we ordered our Sunday roasts…and waited…and waited, for almost 50 minutes. Basically we were ‘forgotten’. Very disappointed, on holiday and have always visited here. Had our drinks with compliments and apologies.

Booked a late Sunday lunch (5:30pm 28 Aug) for 6. Only roasts were available which was fine for us. However, the standard of meal was the worst we’ve ever had in a pub. Meat was average but warm/cold, Yorkshire not cooked and vegetables so burnt that they were unrecognisable - no chef should have let them leave the kitchen. When a complaint was made, the person in charge said that because the meals were partially eaten nothing could be done. I offered to show him the uneaten vegetables/yorkshires (he was behind the bar) but he was not interested. While polite and apologetic he took no further responsibility and his offer of a free drink was insufficient and declined. I simply told him as manager he needed to know what was coming out of his kitchen was totally unacceptable. A real shame as we have had good meals at the Thomas Tripp before but it would appear quality and customer service are a thing of the past 😔.

We met friends for drinks at this pub and sat in a lovely sunny courtyard one sunny afternoon. We ordered lunch while we there there, the food was exceptionally good and I'd definitely recommending trying the food. All big portion and the nachos we shared were the best nachos I'd ever had!

Table booked for 8 people on a Saturday night - perhaps not the best of nights to have a group dinner.. It was hellishly busy people everywhere , that in itself was great! BUT it took quite some time to get served, good job we weren't in a hurry. Some of us ordered a stater , but when eventually the food arrived , the people who ordered a starter were served with their main course first - why?? Their starters arrived as they were eating the main course.. .. Not, definitely not good enough . But what was served was apparently very nice . I ordered a chicken burger, the presentation of which was good, However, it had been grilled to within an inch of its life... gosh it was so tough and not overly enjoyed... When we had all finished our meals, it took another age for the plates to be cleared, I put them all on an empty table behind ours as I couldn't be doing with looking at left-over food, or to smell the copious amounts of garlic..and sitting at an overcrowded table The band was good, albeit on the loud side... but great to enjoy and sing along with a couple drinks. The toilets...oh dear!! The toilets .. the ladies was disgusting 🤮 wet on the floor INSIDE the cubicles (makes you wonder how some of them "ladies?") missed the toilet seat altogether... . health and safety would have a field day, I would respectfully suggest that the toilets are monitored on a regular - very regular basis and cleaned.. I hazard a guess that the gents were equally as bad.. Would we come back? I guess not..

We went here for dinner as a friend recommended it & we were not disappointed at all. We sat in the large outdoor area to have food, there was lots of space & everyone was so chatty & friendly, with lots of cute dogs to fuss over. Our food was so good that I felt the young chef deserved compliments so I had a quick chat with him & we was pleased with the feedback. All other members of staff were polite & friendly. This is somewhere I will definitely return to & recommend to others.

Shame that you don't do Sunday Roast anymore. So many people asking for your roast, was told you don't do them anymore. No one eating the menu you had.
