Staff always friendly and helpful food always fresh and delicious and cream tea excellent to share with friends for a catch up

We went for the first time in ages. Mostly good. My daughter ordered a bottle of Irn Bru, it was completely flat, got it changed, very same thing. They were just going out of date.

Got a high tea for my mum n me for her birthday, it was absolutely lovely plenty of food for the price,will definitely get one again and will definitely try other food from the menu, thankyou so much

Food here is absolutely phenomenal, never had a bad experience. Everytime I've been it's always been busy & I can understand why. Honestly some of the nicest panini I've had!

What a find! We're looking somewhere for a sit down and refuel after a long walk around Dalzell Estate, and found this on our way home. We have two large dogs and they had outside seating so it worked really well for us. The food was AMAZING!! Super tasty and lots of it. I ordered the crispy chicken wrap, and it came out like a hot, sticky, oozy, yummy crispy chicken calzone - so delicious, with just the right amount of everything. My partner had the club sandwich, and he said it was the best one he had ever had. Service was friendly, professional, quick and welcoming. And they brought our 🐶🐶 the cutest puppy-cinos, with dog biscuits and cream - they loved them. Really recommend this place - incredible all around (and also very good value for money).

Having just left , the four of us , myself and wife, sister and husband said the exact same, won't be back , should have realised from the minute we walked , we were 12 minutes early, to be told by a young female with glasses , your too early, ur lunch is booked for 12 ,30. So even though there were empty tables, we were told we would need to come back at 12.30 , it was 12.18 . So out in the rain we went for roughly 10min. Then as we sat down, I asked could I have a mug for tea instead of the small China cup , which was a bit awkward to hold considering i'am 17st and got hands like shovels , to have someone come out and explain that there's an extra charge for a mug. Honestly it's still 1 tea bag . But the best was yet to come. Yes come for high tea and what u dont eat , you can take away. Only for them to charge for the 3 boxs. It's home. still the same high tea we paid for , why charge for taking the rest , sorry but not good enough. And scones with jam and cream , it should be clotted cream , not cream you squeeze out of a tin.

I had ordered 3 party platters total cost of £62. 1 sandwiches platter, 1 wrap platter & 1 fruit Skewer platter. The wrap & sandwich platter were tiny & we got the wrong fruit platter, we specifically asked for the fruit Skewers and instead we just got cut fruit (which has different fruit to what we wanted) by the time it was delivered we didn't have any time to change things as our event was starting. We could have taken that £62 & made a better buffet ourselves 🤦‍♀️

We all had a fantastic time here. The afternoon tea was amazing 👌As for the staff absolutely fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble even when my Granddaughter dropped her flake out of her ice cream onto the floor , the staff were there with another one in the blink of an eye. Very attentive 💯

I normally love the terrace cafe. It’s my favourite steak pie but I guess they have a new chef as I couldn’t even eat it. Every bit of meat was chewy, I couldn’t cut my puff pastry it was so rubber and the chips were little skinny things with hardly any potato and stone cold when they arrived. My partner had the salt and chill chips with a dribble of curry sauce. Very disappointing for such a lovely place

All of can say is due the the staff I won't be back. Food and coffee were nice. Arrived and had a pram the cafe is way to small to accommodate a pram. The girl serving did move the ice cream fridge to allow us in with the pram. The table we were sat at staff had to squeeze past all the time. They handed me a hot coffee over the top of the pram with a baby in it. The women serving us was kidding and polite but other staff can't say the same for them. My sister bumped into a member of staff while turning round with her child in her hand and the look she was given was not acceptable. Considering she was folding her pram up so they didn't have to move a ice-cream fridge again. The breakfast was lovely and coffee but due to experience with the staff I won't be back. Also the strong smell of bleach they were cleaning with when I was over powering.

All I can comment on is the afternoon tea, but when we arrived (15mins early), the food was already sat out on the table and some of the wraps were dry as a result. The scones were super dry and also had minimal jam and they used whipped cream on top, which shouldn't be on scones. Just little things like having fresh milk on the table instead of they milk pots that you would find at hotels etc. Overall very disappointed with this afternoon tea as it was just very poor. My partner is Vegetarian and the only option was cheese which as you can imagine is very boring and limited.

Had bought a Groupon deal as part of a friend's birthday, booked for 2pm for afternoon tea for 2. Brought my own bottle of bubbly to celebrate. Platter of sandwiches, wraps and cake as well as scones arrived, plenty and varied and delicious. Service was friendly and helpful. I was told that there was a charge for corckage, which I hadn't realised, maybe in the small print. I am aware this is a thing,so of course given it was my friend's birthday I was not taking it home. We were still on our first glass and I was offered another pot of tea and my friend a coffee. She declined, I was happy to have a small fresh pot. The café was busy, perhaps full when we arrived and at 2.35 we were told they were closing at 3pm, something I wasn't aware of, but again I'm sure it's clear somewhere, I just wasn't aware. If I was I would not have booked at 2pm only having to be out within the hour. I would not have paid £6 to open a bottle bottle of bubbly and expect to be out within the hour. I paid the bill as we packed up only to realise that the change didn't make sense. When I questioned the price of opening our drink I was told ,yes but you had another pot of tea. I guess I would never have expected to be charged for a second tea whilst having purchased the afternoon tea. I've never had this before and felt bitterly disappointed. There is definitely elements that I could have been more aware of. But I do feel overall to be seated at 2 no mention of closing at 3 at least I would not have opened the bottle, but instead would simply have given the bottle home with my friend, unopened. We packed up our afternoon tea as sadly the time we had resulted in it being a non event, it wasn't just an odd cake or scone that was left. We absolutely took most of the afternoon tea away. To pay for a top up or additional tea was surprising and disappointing and I left leaving no tip, something I would never do as I felt so strongly about how disappointed our time was, it was certainly not the celebration I had hoped for my friend's birthday.

Food is outstanding! We’re a very picky family, but the staff catered to our needs. Timing was great, service was lovely, we’ll definitely be eating from here again

Had a lovely afternoon tea for two, excellent selection of wraps, sandwiches and cakes had to take some of the goodies away with us due to the amount on offer. Visited this afternoon as we were able to grab the afternoon tea deal that was available. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, regularly checking that we were okay for drinks and making sure we were happy with the food. The selection of cakes, sandwiches and wraps were fantastic. The staff even gave us takeaway boxes as we weren’t able to finish it all! Will definitely be visiting again.

My sisters and I often visit the cafe for brunch midweek; we've never been disappointed. Lots of choice and the staff are very accommodating and pleasant. Food is always hot, using local produce and the prices are very affordable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

2nd time ordering as first time was amazing. However, my food the grand breakfast felt a little lackluster. The black pudding seemed over cooked and overall quite dry and chips and curry very much the same. My partner loved her food, the chicken tikka baguette so she has no complaints as she currently stuffs her mouth with the last of baguette saying "worth it". I think I will stick with a burger from now on as that was amazing.

We stopped in this cafe on a late Froday afternoon, the staff were so friendly and the food was delicious. Reasonably priced too. Will definitely be back 😋😋😋

Picked up a lunch platter for 6 people. Food was delicious. Great choice of sandwiches (24) all really fresh and tasty. 24 sausage rolls and they were really good size and 8 very large lovely cakes. Was recommended by a friend and would definitely use again. Only just over 40 pounds and excellent value for money. Sisters reunion and they all loved it. We'll done to the terrace cafe.

The prices have doubled from those shown in the menu on Google. (Have a look at their own website for the real prices.) That's double in just two years. Portions a wee bit small (fish and chips - plenty of chips, but tiny fish.) Probably most problematic, there was a fly going round the whole time, with uncovered cakes and strawberry tarts in the room. Maybe some glass domes or a display case would improve things? I know flies are unusual in December, but it only takes one to cause an issue Other than the above, and waiting an hour for a table, the food tasted fine. My mum particularly enjoyed her chicken goujons. It's advisable to book in advance as there aren't many seats. Or come after the lunch rush around 2pm to avoid a wait.

A lovely cosy cafe with comfortable seats and lovely staff who did everything to make us feel welcome. We were delayed by a flat tyre and the ladies kept our afternoon tea for our later arrival. We had absolutely delicious finger sandwiches, with such large scones and cakes that we couldn't finish, and the lovely ladies gave us boxes to take home the leftovers. It's an absolute must to book a table for your visit, as this pretty little cafe is always very busy.

One of my favourite places to grab a breakfast - it's annoyingly small inside though, so you're sometimes lucky to get a seat. The prices have also gone up a fair bit since the renovation (which is fair) but they didn't NEED it, the good cheap breakfasts always speak for themselves!

Have been a few times with my mum and partner and have really enjoyed the food. The staff are lovely and friendly and make you feel very welcome. The cafe is quite small and compact and so it’s very often busy with people coming in either to sit in or for collection of preordered food. Not too worry though as it runs like a well oiled machine and runs smoothly with no fuss. The cafe also has some seating outside for those sunny or warmer days.

Been a few times now and every time we go we are more impressed each time. Great variety of meals on the menu and the food is really nice, you don't wait long at all for your food to arrive. The staff are really friendly and welcoming, we look forward to our next visit! Oh also...there is a whole bunch of different cakes to choose from too!

This is a great cafe, always kept busy and it can often be hard to get seated at weekends. Ive been here a few times and always really enjoyed it. The food is always home made and fresh, so good. Came here with my mum a few times and she loves it too! The cake selection is also amazing and there is always so much choice. The tuna and cheese baguettes are so huge and amazing tasting. Prices are great and would defo reccommend to someone looking for somewhere to go for a lunch. Staff so nice also

I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here. I'd walked past many times during lockdown and I'm glad I eventually had the chance to find out what it was like. I had a sweet chilli chicken wrap with chips and it was just perfect portion size. And a couple of fresh strawberry tarts to takeaway for later. Great surroundings for a small cafe. I'll be back!

Steak pie from here is quite possibly the most delicious steak pie I've ever eaten and I've had a fair few (which my gut will testify to :-)). Delivered piping hot within half an hour of ordering and for a very reasonable price. I'd recommend to anyone. I'd love to try the other foods but the steak pie is just so addictive.

INCREDIBLE STAFF!! took my little girl shopping a few months ago, bought 2 rolls and sausage that where just amazing. She ate every bit! I realised I had dropped her bobo and asked the man serving me if I could pay and walk back up and get it and come back to collect. THE MAN decided to walk back up and get it for me🥺 I was knackered and this little act of kindness put the biggest smile on my face. I’d highly recommend to everyone!

We had a afternoon tea delivery from the Terrace Cafe which contained freshly made well filled sandwiches, scones with butter, jam and cream plus cakes and sweets. It was delicious and excellent value.

Awesome place! Staff are amazing and so nice. The breakfast is to die for I could not recommend enough. A year later and i still can not reccomended enough. Got the chicken ferno 2 days ago and it was amazing. The only thing i said was no salad. It came with just the chicken, mayo and sweet chilli sauce. Beautiful! I go to order the same thing today and i was given the same again only this time there was cheese and bacon on it.. i absolutely do not eat pork so when i told the woman this she then told me that's what i asked for! I told her i can assure you i did not ask for bacon or cheese. Anyway she told me that is a chicken ferno even though that's definitely not what i had 2 days ago. She then went back in and picked the bacon off and gave me it saying it was my fault and tried to pass the one she handed me as a freshly made one.. attitude was stinking for all she knew i could have had a severe allergy to bacon and it didn't stop her from not only trying to hide what she had just done but also leaving small bits of bacon all through it.. a joke ... Thanks for proving my point about your attitude. I think you missed the start of the review. Maybe read it before you reply. Why would i have to state an allergy if i already got the order 2 days ago. Most places would have apologized and been horrified at the fact that a member of staff actually picked out the bacon after you were told to your face it was the wrong order! You don't seriously think you're going to be trusted to make a fresh order when you couldn't be bothered to do it the 1st time.. instead you decided to blame the customer. I hope the couple a thousand people that read my reviews see this. FYI it's called chicken ferno not bacon ferno so no! The main ingredient is chicken hence CHICKEN ferno..

My daughter loved her surprise and said everything was delicious. Highly recommend.
