These guys kept us fed and watered while we were in town rehearsing... If we needed feeding, whatever time of day, there was no problem. Staff are very kind and good craic.... Thanks to all

Excellent value and perfectly good customer service. The pizza in particular is exceptional, given how much it costs. I'd highly recommend.

Very impressed with the high standard of the Christmas Dinner. Quite delicious. Quick and friendly service too. Beer excellent. My wife and I have noticed an improvement of late in The Tem. This is since the new manager took over. A promissing start indeed. I understand as a real ale fan, how difficult it is to provide 4 guest ales when the volume of sales dont justify it. Still the Abbot and even the Ruddles are usually nice and clear and taste as they should. Deffinitely good value and based on this visit a five star review is justified. Well done the team at the Tem!

Food was excellent, steak cooked to medium well, heatwave burger tasted like KFC. Both meals were hot and lovely. There was staff everywhere we kept seeing different ones appearing and all cleaning, serving and asking how customers were. One staff member Mark was like a machine he works incredibly hard. Its very clean and we eat in several wetherspoons and I have never seen staff members cleaning menus and these guys did them all. Will most definitely recommend and return.

This pub has the potential to be a nice place to eat if only it were given some care and attention. We have eaten here a few times over the years but yet the food continues to be served lukewarm and “Chef Mic” had clearly been a factor in warming the apple crumble and custard. A simple classic that I subsequently wish I had bothered ordering. Disappointing.

This is the second time we have visited and have walked out dissatisfied. A couple of months ago, had a long wait only to receive cold chicken. Had to request a refund and left having not eaten. Visited again today. Extremely understaffed as usual. Wait times of 35 minutes for food to arrive. Customers having to wipe down own tables, requesting cloth and spray from behind bar. When food did arrive, we still hadn't received our drinks! It didnt even appear busy! Won't be returning...

The food was excellent as always and the steak cooked perfectly. The staff are welcoming, efficient and extremely helpful. For the price range this establíshment can't be beaten

Food and drink ordered via app. I eventually went to the bar to pick my own drinks up as I got fed up with waiting. Barman apologised explaining he was the only person working the bar. Food came out in dribs and drabs. Quality of food was below standard despite the fact it's relatively cheap. Vegan burger came out with no lettuce and a tiny side of chips, not even a full portion. Sausage and mash wasn't much bigger than a child's portion, peas were like bullet's. Generally quite untidy inside, toilets not very clean at all. Won't be returning.

4 of us went for Saturday lunch, we ordered a drink while we were looking at the menu and were sitting chatting when one of the staff came over and said that because the wine we originally ordered and paid for hadnt been available the wine we had was cheaper so they wanted to refund us, we said thank you for telling us but told them to either put it in the charity pot or the tips for staff. we went on to order our food which was soon with us and the same standard as always, ok we are not talking high end food but then at your dont pay high end prices at this establishment. its always tasty and of a good standard, its a great place to go for inexpensive food and drink, I have never had a problem with any WSs that I have been to. the staff were polite efficient and helpful. can recommend.

Albeit the establishment was suffering a technical hitch. Causing unavailability of certain beverages. The Team performed superlatively. Rate this place as a -1 The skirting boards where disgusting when the food can out the jacket potato was so microwaved and dry even a wild animal wouldn’t have eaten it. The panini was like a rock trying to cut it. The stake & Kidney pudding was cold , gravy was so lumpy it dropped out of the pot and not poured. Peas like bullets. And the server didn’t even speak when he brought the food to our table just stood there

VERY basic food, do not visit for any special occasion as i visited on Tuesday 31st January but was unable to place an order for a pint as I was told by the duty0 'manager' that they were unable to serve me just one drink as they didn't have enough staff??!! I was then informed that it would be at least an hour!? Therefore I left, and visited a more welcoming local pub. My initial stop was for a quick lunch with friends and a catch up over a small meal and- thinking that just like other pubs- this would be acceptable we decided to stop at what seems to be a good, affordable option. What a great place for a meal, we found a nice table in the corner and could have stayed all night. Staff friendly and service was good. Food arrived in reasonable time and was very enjoyable.

Popped in here for breakfast and coffee while Christmas shopping the breakfast is really nice and so cheap and for 1 25 you get a cup and can fill it as often as you like with various coffees or tea ...I love this place

Asked for a vegetarian breakfast. There are two options on the menu - a large or a standard. I asked for the standard. Got served a kids version yet when I sent it back the duty manager refused to accept responsibility or apologise. Instead he proceeded to argue with me, stating there were ‘3 buttons’ on his till!! How am I supposed to know that?!

Like all Wetherspoons venues the meal deals are good value. Breakfast on this visit was particularly acceptable (Eggs Benedict), served promptly although slightly harmlessly.

We visited today for lunch , the Gammon Egg and Chips were excellent . The Gammon was thick , moist and juicy . The eggs both had firm whites and soft runny yokes , the tomato was cooked on both sides .

a friend and i went for a drink here several days ago before having to collect our children from school so the pub was not busy and my friend ordered a glass of Merlot, after both tasting it we could tell instantly it was very old and seemed the bottle had been opened for days. i told my friend to ask for a different drink but she said she didn't want to as the staff are so renowned for being rude. I was having none of this so took the wine back for her and asked for an exchange, i was met with an extremely rude and very cocky young man who claimed there was 'no way' the wine was old and he then proceeded to drink from her glass! after doing so he again denied our claims and essentially tried to make us feel stupid as if he was a professional wine taster himself! in the end we gave up and left WITHOUT AN APOLOGY OR A REFUND. we will not be returning, i was extremely shocked and appalled. i do not understand how the staff cannot grasp the fact that if you treat your customers well then they will respond positively. I hate to say it but i feel like a vast majority of them, especially the young man who is perhaps the manager is on an enormous power trip, acting as if he's bloody J.D Whetherspoon himself. I've also heard stories of this boy actually banning people from entering the pub due to his own personal issues outside of work that have nothing to do with their behaviour or decorum when inside the establishment which if true is exceedingly unprofessional and should be addressed.

Went to the temraire last Saturday morning, I had a traditional breakfast and a large diet coke which was ice cold.both item's cost £5.40,quite tasty and good value, much better than any McDonald's rubbish which would cost a lot more money and would taste crap as well.

After coming here a few times I knew that it was an ok standard of food not incredible but cheap and cheaful.

I visited this Wetherspoons this week with my other half and I was completely appalled by the service in this establishment. Will not be returning!

My wife and I decided to stop off here for some lunch on Tuesday, we try to go to each Wetherspoons we come across whilst in a new area, the service was excellent and the staff could not do any better, both knowledgeable on the products available and the garden was an excellent place to eat. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be coming back!

Stoped here for quick lunch on way back from weekend away. Wife and I decided to have the 3 small plates for £10 each and oh my god the was enough food to feed 10 the food was hot served quickly (ordered on the App) and very nice just far far to much entire bill inc large wine 2 pints of Coors sparkling water and Chips £32.85 not bad at all.

Been to the rally park so stopped off here for lunch afterwards. Wetherspoons pub so does exactly what it says on the tin , £29 for 3 meals & 3 drinks , bargain. Sat at big round table right at the front in the big window so great for people watching!

Plenty of seating available. Great menu as all Wetherspoons have. Order the meals at the bar and then the meal is bought to you. All good. Plenty of sauces on table. We had Scampi which was perfect. It came with plenty of peas and lovely chips. Highly recommend this restaurant type pub.

Me and my partner visited the Temeraire last Thursday 5th April and ordered a curry. We noted on the menu that a desert was “ included “ as shown on my photos, however when I questioned the duty manager he told me that they are old menus and no longer applied! This is the second time I have been told this on a different night in the last few weeks! If this is the case then menus describing and “included”desert should not be in circulation as it infringes on trades description and should be pointed out to trading standards. We were told that no desert is included and would cost the same full price as is on the normal menu. This is blatantly misleading customers and should be pointed out to head office!

I visited this pub with my family for a quiet midweek meal. I've been to various Weatherspoons but I was surprised by how shabby and dirty this place was. The menu is the same in other branches but the quality of the food is terrible. My mum ordered a glass of Merlot which was off. When I asked to see the manager, a rude aggressive kid appeared saying that nobody had complained about the wine that day. Which makes me wonder when the bottle had been opened. He was defensive and straight away started saying he would not refund or exchange the glass. I wouldn't have wanted another! The waitresses seemed to be constantly annoyed and the food was dry, overcooked and cold. I will not be returning and I don't expect to be confronted when making a complaint with an arrogant inexperienced thug that should have been on the door not managing the place.

So glad we had a table booked for midday today, the place was heaving!

Visited twice in the last 10 days for a quick easy dinner and considering the cost it was surprisingly nice. Under £20 for 3 people with drinks is a bargain. I would recommend for a quick easy dinner to anyone.

Having experienced 5 star service at the Royston branch of Wetherspoons (The Manor House) I rather stupidly concluded that the service received at Royston would be the same at every Wetherspoons establishment ! Silly me ! As the service received at the Temeraire in Saffron Walden was absolutely appalling ! If Royston is worthy of a 5 star rating then Saffron Walden is a minus 5 ! Maybe the staff at the Royston Manor house should train the staff at the Saffron Walden branch of Wetherspoons ! Recently tried this pub as I was in Saffron Walden for the first time sadly it was a tale of half’s firstly I must say the person on the bar at the time was very speedy and had excellent service and customer skills, (very young looking male with a rainbow strap around his neck) but when the food arrived it was Luke warm and felt rushed onto the plate sadly it was busy and I didn’t feel was able to talk to the young girl on the floor about these issues, That being said I will definitely give it another go as it has a lot of potential, possible just a bad day as busy

Came in Thursday night not realising it was curry night. Couldn’t believe how busy it was, obviously a very popular night. We eventually found a table but it must have been the dumping table as it was covered in about a dozen empty plates and glasses. As the only place to sit we didn’t have a choice and I asked the bar staff to clear the table when I ordered drinks. There was only one young lady serving and it actually took half an hour for her to clear the table (the food took an hour to come so didn’t cause a problem other than being very unpleasant to sit amongst!) as she was trying to do in between serving food. The food once arrived was very good - excellent curry and we had no problem with the service or food. Nice place to eat, great atmosphere. I have marked down simply because i found it very unacceptable to leave a table so absolutely filthy and not address it quickly when made aware of it.
