I met my friends here the other day, service was great and the cakes just as nice. Easy street parking and not far from the city centre. Well recommended for good reason. Lush!!!

I am delighted to have found this great cafe just a 5 minute walk up the road from John Lewis as I regularly have to come to Norwich for business. It's very warm and cosy and serves my favourite brick lane bagels and chocolate cakes! Thanks until next time guys!!

Lovely place - great space inside - really relaxed. Delicious Salmon and Eggs for brunch...and you get to watch Hatley Davidsons 'purr' into the dealership opposite!

I'm sure the tea & cake would have been wonderful, but at 2:45pm on a Saturday afternoon the very unfriendly lady in charge informed us she was closing in 10 minutes & wouldn't want to have to rush us!!! We had walked out of the city to try this business. We believe that if The Tea Lounge can afford to turn away 3 new customers, we don't see any point in returning. We'll stick to the Tea Shops we know in Norwich that offer a warm welcome as well as good cake.

The Tea Lounge on Ber Street is fantastic for lunches, snacks, treats and afternoon tea. With a great selection of homemade cakes available every day, panini's, sandwiches or baguettes all made in-store. My personal favourite has to be a Brie, Bacon and Cranberry Chutney Sandwich with a slice of their delicious Banana and Caramel Cake. Great value and always a great service.

This is a well thought out lounge. The food is spot on & hearty. Such a treat. Oh and they have take away!!! Amazing as well. You will no be disappointed. The staff seem to love their job which is a good sign. I almost felt as if I was back in San Francisco relaxing. Final note. I never do reviews however this was needed. Cheers.

Just come back from having lunch here, best soup I've had in a cafe for a long time. Very reasonable price with bigger than usual sized bread to go with it. Large bowl of morrocan spinach and chickpea soup went down a treat, and is very filling (which is a rarity for soup.) Nice to see cafes do more ambitious soup recipes than your usual vegetable/tomato option. This cafe is slightly out of the way but well worth it, because of this it's less busy and is a great size with lovely surroundings. I will definitely be returning.

I've been sampling the Tea Lounge's delicious cake for years now so it's time I left a review. The cafe itself is lovely, with very welcoming and spirited owners, and the cake and coffee is second to none! P.s the bacon, brie and chutney paninis should not be missed!

Beautiful fresh sandwiches. Proper tea made with tea leaves in a pot, plus chocolate cake. in the patio garden in the sunshine. Bliss.

You know how sometimes you think something is different but you can't say what? Well, The Tea Lounge provided a quite existential shiver. I have been there three or four times and was used to a couple of quite pleasant people behind the counter. But now. They are not apparent. The service is adequate and the welcome underwhelming; the coffee was ok (added protein with the fly); the lemon drizzle cake was so dry the drizzle had dehydrated. I do quite like the layout with a large kitchen table at the back and small tea tables elsewhere. Good position to people watch as you spend a few moments with your mates. Not done the garden to the rear. Perhaps I will give it a miss for a while

I have been in The Tea Lounge 3 times with different friends. Some memorabilia from old Norfolk & Norwich Hospital, theatre trays that would hold instruments for operations also a long bench seat used at the hospital.

A great little tea shop café that does cakes and takeaway sandwiches. The reason for the rating is that they go down to London to buy proper bagels from the Brick Lane Bakery. As a result their smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels are wonderful and make me very nostalgic for London. If you've never had a proper bagel (supermarket stuff does not count) you should try this place.

Bit of a walk from centre but classic city estate pub. Good choice of beers, classy old gents lining the bar. Exactly what you'd expect from this type of pub.

YMCA confirmed this cafe has closed for good. A great shame as it was great value and very convenient for the city centre. They now have a cafe called Williams Kitchen on the Aylsham Road.

We walked in and asked for a table for two. There were lots of empty tables and customers peraring to leave, but we were barked at and told we could sit outside and there were no other options. We wouldnt have minded sitting outside, but the rude guy we spoke to made us feel like an inconvenience, so we left and went somewhwere else.
