The Tavern in Poole

The food could have been better, it lacked taste. I would recommend it, and will be back, I've been here before and enjoyed it, maybe today was an off day

This is a gorgeous little pub with a nice local feel. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is lovely, the staff and the very friendly regulars really contribute to its very homely feel. I've spent many afternoons here catching up with friends and grabbing drinks. The feeling of authenticity is very strong and feels very refreshing when compared to the many chain pubs and their modern feel.

Traditional two bar community establishment with a lovely feature woodburner, however unfortunately no real ale to speak of. On the plus side the resident Ginger cat was friendly and looked extremely well fed!

Excellent little place just on the main road, food is superb and the drinks selection is broader than my shoulders with the world on them

A lovely friendly pub which we will be visiting again.

Visited for dinner with a friend, the kitchen was closed so we had beer for tea. Nice, clean lines and fresh beer. It has a real 'local' feel, friendly staff getting all set up for halloween. Dog friendly, has a pool table and darts. Really great atmosphere, and I look forward to my next trip to Poole so I can visit again.

Called in last night for a couple of pints. I'm new to the area and it's probably "my local" Friendly staff and a great pint. Support your local pub, amazing prices, clean and comfortable environment.

Decent estate pub, with very cheap beers and sport on the telly. Saturdays get a bit carnage, but this is Rossmore so what can you expect.

Fantastic day - lovely Garden sat in the sun watching Lewis from Sound of the Suburbs and one the meat draw twice.

Welcoming landlady cheap drinks and nice atmosphere.

It is nice and a real pub like the old fashioned times. I Like that BUT I find the landlord very rude. I say hello and a lot of the time I get ignored but yet he is getting my money??? Hmmmm the other staff however are so lovely including the landlady. The karaoke and discos are great. Just please tell the landlord if he wants more customers smile and be more friendly please!!!!!

Enjoyable meal, busy and a great view with Corfe Castle in the background.

Always been a bit of lower end pub. Today I was given 2 pints of lager in 2 skanky glasses. The glasses were filthy and so water marked you could not see through the base. ÀVOID.

First time visit whilst on a random walk. Thought I would go in for a drink to cool down on a hot day. Terrible experience. Got criticised about how I was caring for my baby by the barlady before she even said hi. Never again. Don't believe the good reviews.

Mid week visit to watch the footie having moved locally recently. Ignorant barmaid could barely register a response. Very poor beer choice (John Smith's.... End of).. Fine if you've lived next door for 30 years. Oh yes...and a guy in the public bar just bellowing randomly like a cart horse on methadone. Avoid unless extended family.

Dog friendly pub just popped in for a pint. Staff were friendly and there was a meat draw on. Seemed like a good atmosphere although we sat outside.

Not a great choice of beers really. Very much a locals pub, i.e. unless you're a local they don't give a monkeys. Couldn't be bothered to serve us food. Not the best really.

A good old traditional pub. What you see is what you get, Pool table, darts board. Staff are very friendly, and they also serve food, inexpensive, and nice choice on menu, nice range off drinks, and an outdoor seating area, Better place to go then it's neighbouring pub the suite home inn.

We moved to a house near this pub 2 years ago. Enjoyed having a drink here straight away, but the improvement since then has been incredible. Lovely pub with a warm welcome, feel really at home here. Great landlord.

Decent pub within the local area as it seemed to be the only one without people who had six fingers or more. The owner and bar stewards were great and i would recommend to friends. My issue with this place was a boy called 'badmantfam'. He gave me my dish - a lasagne dish. It tasted divine and his flaky skin seemed to fall off onto the food, giving it a lovely, crispy topping. This child then proceeded to hurl vicious abuse at his nan. would recommend going to the Rossmore tavern. Very good, family friendly pub
