Got an authentic karhai after so long. Shinwari lamb karhai better than charsi karhai. Good service. The girls are very attentive n responds quickly. Afghani boti is very tasty as well. Definitely going back again n again.

Really nice experience overall! This was first time with Shinwari. Being fond of Afghani cousine, I can be critical. Only improvement would be Chappli Kebab, which can get more authentic taste and look. Otherwise mix grill, Charsi Karahi, Kabli Pulao, Tarka Daal were all on the spot. Staff is very hospitable and nice, so covering if any gaps. Nice sitting place as well to enjoy food with family 🌟

ALL THE FOOD IS VERY GOOD BUT FOR THE DESSERTS i.e Gajar halwa .THE PRICE THEY CHARGE IS VERY HIGH AND the portion is very very very very ...little they served. in that amount you can buy 1/2 Kg from outside..no good

I have had kadhai at many places and it is one of my favourite dishes. Many people find it nice who have not had really good kadhais but for me i found it pretty average. Maybe because i had a really good one a week before at some other place. The service is also very clumsy. Many people visit the restaurant and the waitresses are very slow.

We had to wait a little longer for our food compared to other restaurants but you know what it was well worth the wait because everything was made fresh not from premade sauces or partially cooked meats. We had mixed grill, chicken kharai, lamb kharai, I have to say it's the best kharai I've had in UK

Having tried numerous restaurants in search of authentic Peshawari cuisine, I finally discovered The Taste of Shinwari by chance, and it was a game-changer. The Kabuli Pulao, Afghan Tikka, Shinwari Karahi, and Chapli Kebab were absolutely fantastic and delicious—truly authentic and hard to find elsewhere. The restaurant stands out as a gem for genuine Pashtoon food. Additionally, the staff were exceptionally friendly and humble, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Peshawari dishes. I loved it!

I recently visited Shinwari, and while the service was commendable, the food left much to be desired. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we felt welcome and our needs were met throughout the meal. However, despite the excellent service, the food failed to impress. The **Charsi Karahi**, which is often a signature dish at such restaurants, lacked flavor. It was disappointingly bland, missing the rich and bold taste you'd expect from this traditional offering. As for the **mix grill**, it was just average. Nothing about it stood out, though it was passable in comparison to the underwhelming karahi. Overall, Shinwari offers great service, but if you're looking for a standout culinary experience, the food unfortunately falls short.

The food was amazing but the service was horrible, the waiters weren't welcoming at all and didn't even ask us if anything was wrong, customer experience wasn't good, we also asked if we could get any plates bur they ignored us and didn't give it, they were also very rude in their tone of voice

It’s the best and most authentic Pakistani food we ever had in UK. Very reasonable price and right infront of Royal Nawab (Merzee) and I have no idea why people will go for such expensive restaurant instead of this.

one of the best shanwari karhai from there we ordered plenty of times from them and we eat in as well staff is very friendly and polite they always look after us i know they busy on weekends but still had a good customer service from them and food is always good tastey highly recommended far karhai lovers .

Oily karhais, decent kababs. They definitely hide their card payment machine behind counter and insist on cash. Asking them for their card machine can lead to some very disrespectful behaviour from staff.

I am reviewing this place for their 100% bad service so we went there all away from cardiff on sunday 16th of june 6 of us so we went in for the food to try this place one of the server gave us space to be seated but after 5 to 10 min some other family came in and server wants us to move to an other table where as he gave that space to us and we are happily sitting there but when they see party on 10 12 ppl they wanted to move us and which i took as insulting behaviour from the resturant. They need to treat all there customers equally not differently sorry but wont go there again for sure i dont know how there food was but i was disappointed with there behaviour we travelled from cardiff. Sorry guys but never happened to me in my life so it was insulting for me. Went to saleem tawa then and that was a perfact experience saved our day hats off for them ...

Kebab is full of beef fat and chicken , the worse thing that they only get cash , card machine is not working for ever .

I really want to eat dine in at shanwari because I liked food which is not too spicy but I don't have chance to go any shinwari resturant even not in pakistan any ways yesterday first time I went their levenshulme branch we ordered chicken karhee lamb chops & chicken tika with kable rice food was horebal taste chicken was uncooked in khraee its like little curry I mean like chicken curry not karahee secondly chops it was tender & ok thirdly kabli rice taste less it was not kabli it was with chicken tika its ok service was poor they took more them half an hour & food was very taste less so I don't recommend. Restaurant has nice decor & mention history of shinwari .

Been there 5 times.first three times it was ok.but our last 2 visits was very disappointing.last week went there with friends and ordered a charsi tikka nearly 2 hours ago.when we went there we being served a charsi karahi and we refuse to have it as we ordered tikka not karahi.wait another 45 min and then tikka being served.waste of time n money . Today I have friends coming up from London and unfortunately I thought to give them a try again and ordered big platter which is served with lamb ribs rack.after wait of half hour reaching there served food.and ribs wasn’t cooked at all very rubbery and I show to the waiter that we even couldn’t cut it with knife.and he took back to cook again.we orders them 4 o’clock and mention the that please don’t let us down we have friends coming from London so please give us proper food.but unfortunately same as last time we did order two portion of dum pukht which was ok.i order 3 rotis and they serve 2 nan bread as well and we didn’t ask for and being charged as well. When our food is finished then they bring ribs.wat an embarrassment in front of guest. Never ever go again. Service was awelful. Not recommended at all. Sorry for negative review but you really deserve it.

Fairly large portions and decent food, was quiet for a friday evening. A place where you would generally go with your friends, rather than family and children. Service is good, cannot fault it.

We went with friends recommendation, ordered lamb charsi kadhai, shinwari chicken, kabuli chana, chapli kebab & naan. All food tasted fresh & equally good. Very pocket friendly and the portion size is really great. Service was flawless. You must call the restaurant for the booking in prior & order your food spl the lamb charsi kadhai & chicken shinwari before reaching there or else you have to wait for 30-35 mins. But the food is worth the wait.

It was a disappointing 😞, went very far for this and hopping it would be great but it wasn't. The rice were very cheap quality, nothing like qabli pulao, and dumpukht had no taste also it didn't felt like it was freshly cooked. chicken tikka wit rice had no flavour and wasn't cooked properly. Overall not worth the money and time.

Mutton Karahi was outclass. Lamb Chops I would not recommend. Stick to the main course karahi.. Kabli Palao was well made.

Been there twice...Observed that food quality and taste was not consistent.. The most annoying thing was that both times (more than 1 month apart) there was a notice on reception that card machine not working so cash only and made us go out to get the cash from ATM. If you guys dont want card transactions and only want cash (for obvious reasons) then no need to pretend that card machine is not working.. In this day and age, even a small street vendor can get a card machine working or replace it in minutes.

It took very long and no one was listening to customers. Rude staff. Bad service. Took too much time. But food was not bad.

4 of us went to the place. We ordered the 1kg lamb karahi, 2 chapli kebab and 4 naan. We clearly mentioned that we want 3 naan and 1 roghni naan. The server said no we ordered 4 naan. We had ordered the roghni naam by showing a picture on the menu. When we confronted the server, he outright blurted that the picture is not visible clearly instead of admitting his mistake. We ordered an additional roghni naan and it was pathetic. It was the plain naan with some sesame seeds. The food we ordered was good and quantity was sufficient for around 5/6 people. However, the service needs to be trained to be more professional and need to admit their mistake when one is made. Poor rapport building efforts. The ambiance inside the restaurant is very nice. I definitely would recommend a visit but be cautious to ask the server to reiterate your order.

Can tell they make the food fresh as it took ages, grill was ok, curry was not the best shinwari style i’ve had to be honest, wasn’t blown away.

Good authentic Pustoon/Pakhtoon food from the Khaber Pakhtoonkhwa province of Pakistan.

Went there last night with friends & I must say the owners have put their heart & soul in to it the decor is on point perfect presentation of pushtoon culture . The food is !! I must worth trying Afghani botti was very juicy rosh was cooked to perfection with olive oil it tasted something else will be definitely going there again . What a great experience of trying authentic Peahawari/ Afghani food after long day at Blackpool water park. We ordered chicken Charsi, Lamb shinwari/ mixed grill/kabli pulao malai boti, and trust me guys, everything was so yummy and delicious that I would be there regular whenever I visit Manchester again. The staff , Sherry, Shiraz and Ahmed were so helpful, professional and with excellent customer service. The owner and main chef Afzal, was very humble and gave my ordered special attention and cooked it with perfection. Beautiful ambiance, relaxing and spacious seating for families.Higjly recommend for all good reasons.

First time I ordered food for take out for Eid and all the food was mouth watering, my family loved it. Second time dined in and had a fabulous time with friends. Staff was amazing, service was quick, can’t complain about anything. It’s a place that shouldn’t be missed, do try it out, won’t be disappointed.

Nice food, especially chapli kebab. I didn't like shinwari karahi because it had a smell of fat in it, but that is my personal taste, and others seemed to like it. Staff friendly but service should improve. They forgot to bring one dish from our order. It's a nice place to sit and enjoy your food. Due to the nature of the area, parking is very difficult.
