Left from a fantastic evening with my colleagues. Five different types of wines food to match fantastic guidance throughout and all for just £50 ahead. I could not recommend this more highly this is an excellent thing to do with a group of 8 to 20 people.

I stayed at the Travelodge Central Bank and was underwhelmed by their breakfast offer which was merely a box of cereal and milk. Good thing the Tappit Hen is right next door. The staff welcomed me in a friendly manner and I sat down in a classic London bistro atmosphere. The coffee that came with the breakfast was one of the best I had so far. I decided to go with the English breakfast. 10 £ well spent: while not overwhelming in volume the taste was great, especially the grilled mushroom and tomatoes had great roast aroma. Poached eggs were well made and the sausage melted with a nice grilled aftertaste. Thank you for the good start in the day!

A very nice glass of red wine with a tasty sausage, pork belly & lentil dish. Very well presented and tasted fabulous. Staff polite and attentive. Toilets downstairs so accessibility may be an issue for some but they were very clean.

The Tappit Hen was a delight from when I arrived to when I left. Tucked away in St Swithins Lane away from all the hustle and bustle of the City. From the moment you arrive and see the gleaming wood, beautifully set tables and shining cutlery and glassware you know you are in safe hands. Staff are bright and friendly (a rarity in some venues) and service was swift but not rushed which is exactly what you need on a lunctime. I had the Roast cod which came with lentils, leeks, bacon and grilled spring onion along with a salad. My dining companion had the most amazing fish pie (with a hidden soft boiled egg). I refrained from wine as it was a lunchtime meeting but as you would expect from Davys there was a fantastic collection. This really is a winner from the Davy group of restaurants and bars!

Popped in for breakfast after staying at the travelodge next door. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. We would definitely go back if we were in the area again. Would probably try another time of day to taste the food. The premises were very nice and is well worth a try.

Have been a few times now I’ve tried at least 6 different wines and still haven’t found one I like I had the worst steak I’ve ever had on my last visit But the venue is lovely and so are the staff and weirdly it’s kind of great

The Tappit Hen has recently opened in the city and we had our first dining experience there. The only reason I've given this establishment two stars is because of the service, the staff seemed lovely and our waitress in particular was very charming and attentive. Unfortunately almost everything else went very badly. We ordered the cornish ray wing, sirloin steak and the partridge each. The partridge was over done and meat was very dry. The sirloin steak was not edible and had to be sent back (ordered medium and turned up like it had been forgotten on the grill). The cornish ray was finished, although our friend Sharman eats pretty much anything. The chips were more like potatoe wedges which were probably defrosted. I was not asked if I wanted a replacement steak, it was just assumed and it turned up after the other guests had finished their dinners. I did ask them not to bring me the steak as it was too late but the manager turned up regardless and through guilt (don't waste it) made me eat a third of eat in front of my guests - I felt like I was on I'm a celebrity get me out of here. Given I was still starving, I reluctantly ordered desert (chocolate brownie with salted ice cream) - once our desert turned up it looked like some sort of chocolate fudge. When we asked the waitress where the salted ice cream she went to check with the chef and the manager turned up explaining that the menu had changed and we had been brought an alternative dessert... Needless to say, the steak, beers and deserts were taken off the bill, but going home hungry from a restaurant was a first for me.

Three of us had a late drink as you were closing, and were greeted warmly for our end-of-day drink – a lovely nightcap. We were staying overnight next door and resolved to come back for breakfast the next morning. We were welcomed, had a beautifully cooked breakfast, and a genuinely proud tour of the very interesting property – magic! Given a similar trip we will be back...…….

One of the new Davy bars in London, and what a bar it is. with its light and relaxed bar on the first floor, to the more cosy dinning area downstairs. this is a bar/restaurant to visit if you are in the area. The wine menu as you would expect from a DAVY bar is absolutely amazing and ports are outstanding..... you will find it very difficult to find any wine bar in London that will serve the different variety of wines and ports the Tappit Hen holds. The food....WOW. I love going to restaurants and not have to read page after page of food on offer. what you get at the Tappit Hen is a simple one page menu of top quality British food that caters for all taste (fish/meat/veg/vegan) I chose the ox tongue starter, the melt in your mouth Beef main (both amazing dishes), but the out outstanding dish on our table had to of been the sausage and pork belly on lentils OMG it was so so succulent and tasty....love crackling :) to end our meal we chose to share the cheese plate with a glass of Tawny 10yr .....what a quality way to end our evening. Tappit Hen also has a hidden gem..... when you do go..... ask about the 15th centry cellar and the great history of the Tappit Hen.

Visited Wrights Cafe Pall Mall last weekend. The food was absolutely delicious! I also had a coffee and it was the best one i have had in the area….The prices are definitely on the cheaper side, especially for the area. Staff are friendly and helpful too. Definitely recommend to all!!!

Last evening we went as a group friends 9 in total to the restaurant. The quality and the quantity of food was poor. When we complained to one of the member of stuff, asking to see the manager or chef, no one came to us to explain or apologise! Definitely Won't go back ever again. ☹
