The Tai Pan in Coventry

Ordered a takeaway to be delivered, and although reasonably priced and quick to deliver we found the food bland unfortunately. I ordered Singapore Vermicelli which was meant to be spicy/hot, alas it was not. The sweet n sour sauce was neither, just tasteless.

My normal Chinese restaurant would be the Jade Palace, Wyken or Cheng Garden, Redford both very flavoursome and good portions as they were both really busy this evening I thought I would try another local for the first time, when I picked up the food I thought it was the wrong order as it felt so light and looked small when I opened up I was gobsmacked with the side of the portions, I am not a greedy person but they were half the size of the other 2 restaurants also the barbecue sauce was really small and not very tasty compared to most other restaurants again I want to state that it’s not all about size of portion but it was genuinely half the size as it’s the first time going it will be my last

This is the first time I have tried this take away. I wasn't expecting that much to be honest, however what a suprise. The food arrived piping hot, good size portions. I had the Spare ribs in Sweet & Sour sauce to start, they were the best ribs I have ever tasted. The meat was tasty and fell of the bone, the sauce was a lovely balance of flavours, not the normal Orange over sweet gung that you get. I then had the Chicken in Pineapple, again a meaty treat with lovely pineapple in a well balanced sauce. I also had the Special Chow Mein, again a good selection and quantity of meats in a delicious sauce and plenty of noodles. I can't wait to order again and I would recommend you give it a try, you won't be dissapointed.

Staying at friends so thought I would try the local Chinese. Portions were relatively small and the meat was poor quality. No where near as good as my usual which is Jade Garden in CV2 Cannot believe people are reviewing this place as "the best Chinese in Coventry"! - no chance.

The food was lovely, but I found the meat to be dry and over cooked. I had ribs that were really dry on the bone. Its a shame really because the flavours were really nice.

Food is always delicious with portion size being very good too! The special fried rice is definitely the best I've ever tasted. Usually get delivery and the order always arrives earlier than estimated with the food still being hot. I always receive fantastic customer service as well!!

I have used the tai pan for years and was always happy with my orders. The last few times I have ordered the food was overcooked and not very good at all I'm afraid I wont be returning

Lovely food as always. Pork curry and duck spring rolls 👌 reasonably priced :) staff friendly. Kitchen clean

Mostly Use home delivery excellent delivery times prices for food are reasonable food has always been hot it's definitely family run I can highly recommend this outlet to anyone

Food is amazing, cooked fresh every time, quick and simple service. Food is ready quickly, never had food delivered from here so cannot comment, always picked it up. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Having purchased meal to share with friends, arrived home and realised that spring rolls often contain diced pork. Item was for friend who declines to consume Percy Pig. Quick phone call to Tai Pan confirmed the presence of pork. Server then offers to custom make spring roll and deliver it to our house almost 2 miles away. It arrived within 15 minutes and payment was refused! !! So, I can forgive the dated decor . Remaining food was better than average for Chinese takeaway s in our area, with a couple of unusual items available including ginger/coconut sauce. Very happy :-) :-)

very friendly service and quick probaly one of the best chinese currys i have had also great duck first time i have been in a chinese with English woman behind the counter aleast my order is correct

See the title, says it all really. Takeaway....friendly service, very average food....not the cleanest place!
