Decided to check out the crispy 1/4₩ Duck, well all I ended up with was a portion of skin and fat, Heaven knows where the duck was. Very disappointing. It's a shame that I couldn't post a photo.

Brilliant food, awful customer service, got our orders wrong on 5 occasions now. Ordered online, and when returned all my husband got was "mistakes happen". Awful customer service.

First time trying here and will definitely be going back again! Would highly recommend! Ribs were delicious, the meat fell off the bone, the crispy beef was the best I've tried in a long time and the chicken in the curry was perfect. Shame they don't offer delivery as I'm reliant on delivery services but will be keen to collect this again in the future 😀

Fried rice obviously not fresh as was the Singapore fried rice.I’ve been up all night with an upset stomach so won’t be recommending this place again!

Ordered online for collection, was ready promptly, collected, got it home started to eat and my partner found a dead fly in one of the dishes. The sort of thing that then puts you off eating. As we had spent £35 I called Allesley House to let them know. The initial response of the man on the phone was 'I doubt it was a fly, the weather isn't hot enough' then he said he would give us a refund if we could go and collect the cash back. Agreed to this, partner went back and he asked what dish it was in. Partner told him garlic and chilli chicken, he said 'not likely to be a fly'. Partner then showed him the picture to which he went 'oh yeah, that is a fly'. Told us all he could refund us for is the one dish (knowing we'd been put off our entire meal, as anyone would). He handed my partner £10. Not what we agreed to on the phone. Not happy with the service and absolute waste of food!

Best Hong Kong Style dishes anywhere. Nice quality meat in all dishes

Not very nice, cold hard no filling chips, crispy chicken just small pieces of batter. That’s the lemon chicken & peking chicken all together dissatisfied. Not the first time this has happened lately it was once the best place to go but not anymore won’t be going back.

Cracking local Chinese takeaway. The staff on Fridays are always helpful. Food decent. Sweet and sour chicken balls especially good.

We’ve used this Chinese for years, only the last couple of times there’s been issues with the food, items missing despite ordering and paying for, rude management telling us they don’t need our business anyway and to use another Chinese. 🫤

This Chinese is that good it does not deliver, and you can watch them preparing the food.

Ive been using Allesley House for 20 years. The house special fried rice is amazing. I never have anything else. Plus i have to drive 30 miles to pick it up!

Excellent food, easily the best Chinese take away in Coventry. I drive passed 2 other Chinese take aways to collect from Allesley house because the food is just delicious.

ordered via phone, was told it was £28 on the phone so took £30 with me as they only take cash. when i got there they asked for £31.80 i proceeded to tell them that’s not what was told and i was told that it was only £1.60 and to go get the right money. the tone and attitude of the person talking to me and told me to take food off my order when it was there mistake in the first place. wouldn’t recommend as the attitude from staff is poor

Never been here before so thought we would give it ago. Few things to point out... collection only, cash only, no freebies (e.g. prawn crackers). Cost £40 which was quite expensive for 3 people. Salt and pepper chips were terrible, literally just soggy chips with some salt and pepper sprinkled over them. Salt and pepper chicken, was dry and had no flavour. Chow mein was extremely greasy and again not much flavour. Will not be attending here ever again.

House special chowmien was so nice

It had been a very long time since I visited the Allesley House take away. Having been a local and a regular many years ago, now I am local once again I wanted to see if it was still any good. The reviews were good, the 5 star hygiene status also reassured me it was in good hands. We ordered similar food to what we would normally have to compare plus some nice things. We were very impressed with the potion sizes, the price and the flavours were beautiful. Their curry sauce was much nicer than normal, it wasn't the same flavour as a easily available shop bought sauce. 1 item that we did love was the szechuan chips, they were new to us but we really liked them, spicy with green chillies and other spices. Great service, it is cash on collection. They don't offer a delivery service. Nice to know it is the same family running it from when I used to go there some 20 plus years ago.

Always had fabulous tasting food - never had any problems in the many years we have been buying from here. Service always been great - polite and very efficient and fast. Even my mum who is 93 loves the food so we regularly get the family together for a take away feast, Daughter came to visit from abroad for a few weeks and first day back today and she wanted Allesley House take away . It was delicious. Never disappoints.

My family loves the food, well cooked and delicious can never fault the chefs. Whatever you order best believe it will be delicious 😋 😉. The guys who take orders could be more friendly,however nomatter the rude cashier that never stops me from ordering. I drive all the way from Bell Green like a 25 minutes drive and it is worth it. I asked for a replacement sweet & sour chicken next time and they said no chance. He put the manager on who started shouting at me and was extremely rude!!! The food was over £21 and what a waste of money, terrible. Never will we use this take away again!! Disgusting behaviour!!!!

Best Chinese takeaway around bar none always hot and fresh and great portions.

Crispy duck contains very little duck, tin foil dish full of some type of greasy coating that is used to bulk the dish out

Excellent service and amazing food

Flavours fell flat, we ordered kung pao and it tasted horrible, just a salty sauce and nothing else. The prawns and black bean were ok, fried rice wasn’t great. Order was incorrect first time around and we had to drive back to pick up the corrected order… would have been best to just get a refund. Would look elsewhere.

Asked for specific vegetables to be put in in the veg curry which has not been an issue in the past but on this occasion the order note was not followed. It was strange to find cucumber in the veg curry as I have never seen this before. Asked for free prawn crackers as the order was above £30.00 but was told this would be extra. Two girls came in to pick up their order and asked for free crackers and were initally told the same thing as me but they then told the lad at the till they used to work there so the flustered young lad said fair enough and gave them the crackers right in front of me. I got a call on the way home to say that they had forgot to put one of the currys in my bag so ended up getting free crackers anyway lol.

Been using here for 18 years and don’t anymore because the attitude of the obnoxious specky guy not caring after you have phoned a order and still waited 20 mins.

Ordered pork and chicken chow mean at 9,o'clock Friday evening ,I've ordered this a few times early evening which has been lovely ...tonight no egg fatty meat and really dry rang up to complain to be told I'm lying as they dished this out themselves....dreadful food ..dread full customer service won't be using this place again

Really nice food, looked very appetising and fresh and not overcooked. Portion size was good. Take away was hot when I arrived to pick up the order. Would of been 5 stars but the vegetable spring roll was mainly beansprouts and not much else. Lots of vegetarian choices. Was good value for money.

Been to lots of Chinese takeaways in Cov, but this one is the best! Consistently good, no matter what dish you order, and the curry is the best out there. Goodness knows why these sort of places don't take card payment though!

Viewed the menu, lots of choice, called and placed order. It was Friday evening and never expected there to be so many people waiting. Bit of a chat with locals then called. Beef chow main, chicken, rice and sweet and sour dish. We had a chat with my partner and both enjoyed the meal. There good helpings, no bad taste and empty plate. My first time there and would surely return again. Been again, crispy duck with plum sauce, beef with fresh ginger, onion, crispy duck chow mein.

A good local Chinese, always busy but offer quick and friendly service. The food is good and the flavour of their curries are so much better than the generic curries you get in lot of of Chinese takeaways nowadays. The rating would have been 5 stars but the chips were over cooked on both occasions I visited. I will be going back. 👍

I have never had a poor meal in around 12 years. I live in Longford near to the Ricoh [now CBS] Arena but drive to Allesley to get what we like. Today [for the very first time] they missed the pancake rolls off the order. I phoned to complain and they promised to rectify the next time I ordered. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my Chinese takeaway and YES after I drive from Allesley to Foleshill, it is still hot. Thanks to Danielle.

Excellent food at reasonable prices, COVID restrictions were being carefully adhered to when i visited. Staff seemed friendly and there were lots of other people waiting to collect food, and that's usually a good sign about a place.

I have been using this takeaway for about 5 years now, and I have no intentions of changing. Absolutely amazing food that never disappoints.

Best Chinese ever. Their mixed sweet and sour balls are the best . Ordered a Chinese last night was the best I have ever tasted. Ordered extra so we can have it the following day.

Best Chinese takeaway in Coventry. Try the Chicken balls and compare those to any other Chinese takeaway in the area and you'll see the difference. Can order online, but they insist on cash only when you get there. That's a little inconvenient but still, well worth the effort.

Best chinese takeaway in Coventry. The rest are re-heated and microwaved, this is the only chinese you can see and hear actual frying of food. Garlic chilli chicken is an absolute winner. I recommend the Beef & black pepper chow mein though, it's unreal and the beef is really tender

Absolutely love this for a Chinese. Very good food and quality xx. But we ordered cheesecake deserts today for a special celebration and for £4 each were awful. Poor size. Poor quality and an absolute rip off! Thankfully I didn’t buy 4. I assumed from the description that we could share 2. How wrong were we! The portions were so small and very expensive! Stay away from the pudding menu!!! Awful xxx

If you order on the app add an extra 30 to 40 minutes on as your order is never ready on time. Put my oder in at 6:30 pm had to wait until 8pm to get it. No apology. Going to go elsewhere in future.

Absolutely shocking rang to make order told 5 to 10 minutes. Live less than 1 mile away 15 mins in totally from ringing to collection home lukewarm. Meat really gristly no flavour at all..

I have to say after using this Chinese for 20 yrs plus this was the worst I've ever tasted the chips had been re- heated the chow main was dry and no sauce to it it was like it was yesterday's food just re heated awful awful awfully

Waited for an hour in freezing cold outside with another 30 people to collect an order which was supposed to be ready 20 min before my arrival!! Management should be shameful of treating customers like this... and must start to be honest and say wait time 2 hours! Food was nice.

Ordered food online for collection 7pm waited till 7:25 for my order, also walked away in frustration after waiting so long for my order and they had short changed us! When I called to say check your till they said nothing we can do.... won’t be going back!

Hands down my favourite Chinese takeaway in Coventry. The black pepper beef chow mein is a personal favourite!

First time ordering from here. Easy to navigate online, service was good, food hot and ready to collect on time. Meat was tender and portion sizes fine. However didn’t taste or smell of Chinese food. Lacked any flavour at all and felt like it was braised rather than fried. Egg fried rice had no egg in it at all and sauces were watery. Our beef with spring onion and ginger was smothered with braised white onions with virtually no ginger and black bean sauce in chicken was non existent.

Had a Chinese tonight with family. Having got back home a dish was missing. Phoned up to let them know. Was told to go away as they was busy. I ask for a refund for my dish and again told NO. Had used this Chinese for years. No any more. STAY AWAY. Also be careful. Back door to the kitchen is always open to the kitchen....

A really high quality Chinese take away. Well cooked food not swimming in sauce, crispy duck and mushroom is very good. Large spring rolls excellent. A pleasant surprise when we found it, thank good for reviewers.

Went in for a duck and mushroom. A bit pricy but only waited about 7-8 minutes. Not bad but if I was to order it online would have been cheaper.

A few years since we came here & it was a little disconcerting this time to see it was the only shop open in the dimly lit alleyway (the Nisa further on being the exception) Once inside it was draughty & cold but it has to be said there was a steady stream of customers & ringing phone calls to show it’s a popular Takeaway. With a combination of people coming to collect as well as people (like us) who ordered & waited the priority of supply was weird. The Ticket no system appears utterly random (46, 66, 64 then 59!) We watched as people clearly after us got their food before us & telephone custs arriving were often told to wait. Anyway my bewildered request as to when ours might appear seemed to work as our meal arrived next. We scurried home to open the “ Sweet & Sour Chicken balls. Pancake Roll (2) with egg fried Rice” £11. We had TEN Chicken Balls which were more fillet size than “balls”. They were gigantic & would have fed 3 people. Insane portions! This was one order (we’re not big eaters) so usually share anyway, but this sort of supply is madness. The Pancakes rolls similarly were Dog bone size & we barely took a bite. The chicken was paste like & the egg fried rice just warm enough. It certainly filled our stomachs but that’s it. So if you want big portions, order this. If you want delicate tasty Chinese meal go to a sit down restaurant.

We’ve been searching for a decent Chinese take away for so long and hadn’t found anything really that we’d give a 5 star rating!! This Chinese was recommended by a couple of people, and even though it’s about a 30 minute round trip for collection we decided to give it a go! We certainly weren’t disappointed and would go as far as to say this is the best Chinese take away we’ve come across. The quality and taste of the food was superb and pricing and we will definitely be back

Food is always good and quick service! Portion sizes are huge too so don’t order double on anything you can definitely share 1 portion between two!

Food was bland, dry and Luke warm at best. Only flavouring was obviously salt as the food was unbearably bad. Not coming here ever again.

Forgot food from order then threaded to smash my face in if they re delivered it! Families food was awful, no-one could eat it! Wouldn’t recommend and if I could put lower than a 1 star review I would! Absolute disgusting rude attitude from all staff here, who threatens customers when they messed up the order!
