The food was great. I'd stopped ordering Chinese takeaways because at most of the places their chicken tastes of chlorine. This didn't and that is very important. Chlorinated chicken isn't even legal here. Good to see a place not doing it.

they sent the wrong thing twice and the last time was a peanut satay sauce which we didn't order it's a good job we don't have a nut allergy fuming and annoyed when we called to complain they wanted me to send a picture at firstthey tried to say satay sauce was Cantonese style...shocking very poor

Dined here for my partners birthday lunch. We had all you can eat buffet. Unlike a lot of restaurants that offer all you can eat buffet, the Oriental Palace cooks to order, so all the food is served fresh and hot. The food is excellent. You have never tasted Chinese food until you have eaten here. Highly recommend 👌

Nice food, shame about the service! But hey, if you're looking to relive a school cafeteria experience, this is the place for you! So, picture this: a group of work colleagues looking forward to nice evening. First surprise—no fireplace, though they still list it on Google. Not a dealbreaker, but we couldn’t warm our hands while reading the menus (which, by the way, seem older than the decor). And with the place almost completely empty, we thought we were in for some stellar service. Well, turns out, no. Food was decent! But I think it was the manager that took it upon herself to be the food police, swinging by to inspect every last scrap on our plates. You’d think we were competing for some “Clean Plate Award.” Two of us only ate half of our mains (totally reasonable), but we were treated like naughty children who hadn’t finished their veggies. It got so awkward and they way she did it, trying to argue… like we've gone to some dodgy restaurant and now trying to get more money out of us. Anyway, the it got weird fast, can over look how crap it looked but to treat customers like that is just shameful to the point everyone ended up taking back their tips, all it took was this one person not to came at the end and they would have been way better off. I suppose it's our fault we should have noticed that when they had a sign up saying Cash Only in a restaurant in 2024 that something was not quite right about this place. For the restaurant owners so hope you are reading this. Your food was ok, some dishes really nice, but you lost out now with a bad review, a very decent tip and customers of the future. Don't ruin other people's experience with this attitude. If you think they are over ordering politely let them know when taking the order and that they can order more after if they wish. Dont do what you did to us, it's just rude and not nice.

Ordered food, it was past the delivery time so I called to find out where it was. Man on the phone told me it had been delivered and he handed it so a someone at the door but it was not delivered. He was rude to me on the phone and ended the phone. Now is not answering my calls. I have told him we did not receive our food and he has delivered it to the wrong person. I have ordered from here for a long time but will never again due to the poor customer service l!!

When the order had not arrived 20mins after the estimated time I rang the restaurant who told me it was on the way.After a second call 30mins. later I was told the order had been cancelled as it was too far to deliver. I have had deliveries from this restaurant before but will not be using them again

chicken balls under cooked were still pink in the middle the prawn crackers were brown and over cooked and hard as ice all in all very dismally meal

Food was cold upon arrival so I had to re heat the food and then some of my order was missing I was missing my chicken balls so I called the Chinese and tried to speak to the women but was ignorant and wasn’t listening.

I have been coming to this place for the last 13 years l stopped coming the last 4 years as the food quality was poor and l only ate the starters however.... We have been going again since the last 4 months and l can say this is the best chinese in coventry its halal meat and its the best quality around the satay sauce is 10/10 defo a change in staff the food is amazing The lady is nice its small family run and very welcoming I would recommend this to anybody.

The chicken didn't seem cooked properly. The chow mein was nowhere near as tasty as usual.

FOOD WAS SO GOOD!!! The service was also amazing, the lady who served us was very kind and considerate, for example we asked for specific things (even crispy noodles that wasn't even on the menu). I'm very happy with the time I spent there and totally recommend this place!

They always give massive portions and the food is very decent and reasonable prices

Delivery driver was awful. I left instructions to call phone, instead of knocking on door. I never have a problem with this, but this is the third time this same delivery driver has called me saying he's been banging on my door, instead of reading delivery I structions. Then demands I 'show my face'. His exact words. Disgusting behaviour from delivery driver, and not the first time. But definitely the last. Won't order from here again

had an absolutely disgusting meal when it finally arrived it was stone cold and not fresh when we called them to let them know they were not interested neither of us could eat the food but they were happy to take our money we will never ever order from here again and advise no one to order from here!

Oriental Palace has been our go to restaurant for the last few years but the last two orders have not been good. The quality of the food has really slipped, and apart from the chowmein being so greasy, the pancake roll which is usually lovely was hard and refried filo and when I cut it open it just stank of gone off meat, really bad. It went straight in the bin. The time before that we ordered a collection and again the food had just been reheated, half cold and half boiling chips!

I reguarly order from here twice a month. I called to complain about the quality of the Sweet and Sour Chicken Cantonese style as the chicken didnt look cooked and was not its normal high quality. Female member of staff very rude and dismissive and asked me to send photo. I did, called her back and she hung up on me. Last time I order from here.

Food cold and soggy like it was cooked hours ago . Spring Rolls really nasty , chicken balls heavy and soggy with no taste . Very disappointed .

The staff is very friendly and the food is fresh. It is served immediately after cooking. It is really nice to have hot food and rice. Food portions are huge.

The curry was ok the spare ribs came with the wrong sauce not good spoiled the meal

Really disappointed, thought being one of the more expensive takeaways the quality would be there but have never experienced so much MSG used to replicate flavour. Slimy rice, inedible over salty Satay (went in the bin), a won ton soup that nearly joined it it was so bland, deep fried chicken was so dry it was ridiculous and the king po sauce was a joke, with the vegetables tasting sufficiently wierd to be left. In the plus side the sesame prawn toast was nice, as were the prawn crackers. Avocado

All good. I must say it's a little hard to taste the squid in the sweet and sour squid - but I do appreciate being able to step beyond the generic options. I was concerned whether the curry duck would be too spicy for me - but I noticed the lack of spicy symbol and it was only a tiny bit spicy.

3rd time ordering from here, never will again unfortunately. I ordered beef in black bean with rice. The beef was tougher / chewy, it was gristley in places, and I only got a quarter of the way through before it went into the bin as I found some hard sharp splinters of either brown bone or broken ceramic in the food which hurt when I bit it and I nearly broke a tooth on, so no, never ever ordering from here again.

Good quality food - happy they were able to avoid adding salt as we requested in the notes so that it was more healthy. I hope a move away from plastic containers could be considered for some food. Those dishes that don't have sauce like fried rice it would be nice if they came in a non-plastic container as some takeaways have started to do.

It's the best Chinese we've had so it was worth the wait.

We use this as our go to takeaway, we have never had a bad meal in 3 years, never eaten in but every takeaway has been absolutely lovely and always delivered piping hot well within the time, chow meins and ribs are perfect.

Had a delivery however part the order was missing had to call 4 times for the rest of the food to be delivered, by the time we received the missisng food, the food we had already received was cold as it didn't come for over 2hr 30mins meal was ruined wouldn't use again

We visited here not long ago as it was brilliant before they shut down for Covid, but we went and we were the only people in the small room, if was very cold, no heating on whatsoever, they food was very bland and watery, and they charged my 1 year old who ate a spring roll and a couple of chips off my plate £10! not at all what they used to be

The food was inedible and the egg in the egg fried rice was GREY/GREEN and the chicken looked grey. It was disgusting. Case raised with justeats and they said tough basically. So order at you're own risk.

Portion sizes were great especially for the box set meal for one. However, maybe too much msg as it was quite salty and i ended up throwing the whole thing up. The sweet & sour sauce was delicious. But the actual food was not great to be honest. First Chinese in the area and it was a disappointment :(

Curry was too spicy and hardly any meat mainly mushrooms. salt n pepper chicken very dry, noodles were slimey and bbq sauce was terrible. Never ever again. Its a shame because it used to be a fantastic Chinese. Very dissatisfied

Fairly quiet but it was Saturday afternoon so probably before the rush. Food was amazing, & service was brilliant too. Good price for fresh cooked all you can eat. Loved it! Xx

Having had a number of take aways from the Palace during lock down, we decided to try the restaurant. What a lovely surprise. We had * eat all you can * for £22 and it was excellent and having eaten at many Chinese Restaurants over the years, this one has leapt to the top of the list. In addition to the delicious food we were served by a delightful young lady which made the evening even more enjoyable. I shall certainly be recommending it to my friends.

Our friends came up from Cornwall and fancied a buffet so we came too oriental palace the waitress was so helpful and friendly the food was beautiful specially the prawns and yuk sung and chow mien the prawn toast was off the charts will be back for more thankyou for your lovely hospitality.

An old pub turned into a Chinese restaurant. Nice family, food is beautiful, lots of comfortable seating. Ignore the sign on the wall outside, that's the old prices.
