Lovely venue and great views. Arrived for a late lunch today. Stood at entry for a wee while, seater/maitre d (an older blond lady in a royal blue polo top) chose to have a conversation with a waitress rather than instantly greet us and show us to a table. On previous visits the greeters are usually top notch. Ordered Cullen Skink which is always lovely. Steak sandwich - quality of meat was poor, chewy and sinuous. A beef ham would have been more tender at around a £15 price point. Waitress was lovely.

We came as a group of 16 both family a friends for our dinner. We loved it as soon as we walked in with a warm and positive welcome, to then the food and service being amazing. Our server Brooke was very interactive by answering our questions that we had in regard's too our limited menu, asking how our time in St Andrews has been recommended things we should do in the area, also explaining certain drinks that we were unsure off, also for explain what was suitable for a few dietary on our table. Always making sure that everything was all great and we felt so comfortable. Couldn’t fault Brooke if you have her you won’t be disappointed. The food was amazing, dishes were a perfect a size.

Beers were cold and tasty (old Tom Morris craft brews). Service was good. The food was decent - good not great. We asked for medium steaks the came out with no pink, as an example. Of you’re round is late in the day, good place to go directly to and the seem to have something for everyone.

Dinner was fabulous and the service was wonderful! The location can't be beat! The food and restaurant was upscale, but the ambiance was not. We were very comfortable in the restaurant after a day of golf without feeling like we needed our coat and tie.

First time here, spectacular views. We joined the Tom Morris Bar & Grill for some lunch after our round of golf. We all ordered steaks, which were amazing except one. We let our server Brooke know who was very caring, friendly and efficient who was extremely understanding which she sorted out the issue, especially for how busy the Restraunt was she was always checking on us an making sure we had everything to enjoy our meal. Myself and my golf friends 100% recommend to join them for some food. We will definitely be back next time we come back to St Andrews.

We thoroughly enjoyed Sunday roast at Tom Morris. Unbelievably busy because of the restaurant commitment to the St Andrews Collegiate. Despite the pressures the staff could not have been more pleasant and accommodating. The TM always offers value for money and of course the setting is magnificent with views over the Links. Always has been a favourite for us and always will be.

Wonderful location with views over the Old Course and large windows creating a very atmospheric evening setting. In addition, the food was excellent. However, it is not for the faint hearted with astonishing prices ie a over £40 for a steak. Overall St Andrews has become ridiculously expensive, verging on the rip off, but it is a shame to see a golf clubhouse following this trend

This is probably a great post round venue, but for evening dining it was too loud and raucous. The food was good, just a slight cut above pub food, but delicious. Wait staff were patient with us over the noise, but there were some errors in the delivery. Wouldn't do dinner again but maybe a lunch or post round beer.

We had lunch here prior to our golf game at The New Course. The restaurant was very busy, we had a reservation. The food was good but not memorable. It was very pricey for lunch. That's the price you pay to eat at the St. Andrews Links clubhouse. We enjoyed it, but did think it was over-priced.

I have visited here on numerous occasions even before the change of name when it was called the swilcan restaurant. I have never had any reason to complain about here before as I have loved it so much I had to return. We ordered two Scottish breakfasts and they arrived cold it was as if stuff had just been chucked onto a plate Luke warm. I believe the mistake made was moving towards an actual restaurant bistro whereas it was ideal previously. Sadly I would have to think twice about returning as I love the setting overlooking the old Course.

If only this was the restaurant attached to my local golf course. View is unreal. Depending on where you are in the restaurant you may see the Jubilee Course OR you may be looking down the 1/17/18 of the Old Course. My wife thought it was the best soup she ever had. It was so good that she emailed and asked for the recipe. Our steak sandwiches were ok. Bread was dry. Steak was chewy. Get a beer, a snack, and a view.

The staff and service was good. Had to send my fries back as they were cold. But the BLT gluten free sandwich was very dry. There was plenty of filling of bacon. Perhaps if the bread had been toasted as it used to be when it was the old Links, that would be better, with some more mayo. My wife also had a BLT on sourdough and she said that was also very dry

As a golf clubhouse restaurant, this is a cut above. Offering large windows and a view of the iconic Road Hole on the Old Course with a great menu and attentive service. However, the prices, in the main, are eye watering at over £40 for a steak. In fairness, it must be said that St Andrews overall seems to have become exhorbitant and I do not know how local people can afford it. It seems that certain tourists do not care what they spend and things are priced accordingly. Perhaps an effort to recoup COVID lockdown losses but if so, the same result could be achieved with more reasonable pricing and increased foot fall

My friend ordered a Bloody Mary and had frustrations as they lacked many of the ingredients he was used to, such as horse radish, etc., which began a lengthy discussion with our server, as every time he asked about some ingredient, she had to leave us to go ask someone else.In summary, my first sentence sticks with the view. Nice location nice staff and good service. Half the resturant closed - why ? not that busy and lots of empty tables. Food mediocre. Fish ok, chips awful, tasteless tartare sauce. family member had lamb which was tough and didnt have the promised mint gravy. Few uninspiring carrotts offered as veg.

We were there after spending a couple of hours on at The Himalayas putting green. The food was very good,We were 11 people (and a guide dog) with children and senior citizens. The salad portions were big, but the hamburgers and French Fries, were. little small. They burgers should have included a side of salad. The prices are reasonable. Will visit again.

To eat here is always such a pleasure. But this is so much more than a pure dining experience. Located parallel to the 2nd and 17th fairways of the Old Course there are superb views on the three sides of big picture windows to the further reaches of the course, the fairways and the Old Course Hotel and back to the famous clubhouse and the spires of historic St Andrews. You can't fail to be impressed with the building as soon as you step over the threshold. There's a well laid-out and well-stocked shop and a huge black and white mural of Jack Nicklaus with the Claret Jug and a quote of his. Make your way to the dining room and there is a mixture of traditional table and sofa seating. Serving staff are bright young mainly local people who know the answers to any questions and serve with a professional and pleasant attitude. The menu offers extensive choice of locally-sourced produce and in our experience - and we've had the pleasure of eating here on many occasions - it's always prepared to perfection. The clientele is always cosmopolitan but from the accents you will invariably think you're in the US. It's worth spending a leisurely visit just to soak up the ambience and sense of occasion.

Went in for drinks with a couple of friends after golf and we were staying at the hotel. The bartender was not busy and evidently did not want to be. We were at the bar for a few minutes and then had to ask for a drink. We took them to a table and were never asked if we wanted another. We finally got up and got our own bowl of nuts and never another word was spoken by the bartender when we were presented the bill.

It is a number of years since we have had lunch in this restaurant. The setting of course is wonderful. Friendly waiting staff served us. The food overall was lovely, fish Pie had lovely flavour and texture, pork stir fry was flavoursome. Turbot was a little overcooked though risotto very good. Sauvingnon

We are regular non golfing visitors to The Links Clubhouse for lunch and always look forward to a warm welcome, tasty filling food, and smiling efficient staff. We had to wait an inordinate amount of time to be seated as there was no one there to greet us and there was no menu to peruse while we waited.

Went for steak night but extremely disappointed. Asked for medium steak but was more rare.Few soggy chips, hard peas and two underdone soggy onion rings. No salad as advertsed. Food was also cold. Asked for a prosecco and was told had no cold ones . Was given small one off top shelf behind bar but when I opened it it was completely flat and very yellow so I think it must have been on the shelf a long while! Lady opened big bottle which again came from top shelf so was not cold but was bubbly. Can't believe there was no bottles in wine fridge. Sticky toffee pudding was good though. Seeing as there was just one other couple in the restaurant there really was no excuse for steak meal being so poor as kitchen not rushed. Won't be rushing back!!!

Great location on the Old Course. Beautiful modern terrace on the top floor with stunning views across the fairways to the sea. So wanted to like this place but were disappointed. Food was standard golfing fare - steaks and lobster - OK but nothing special . Wine list reasonable for price and choice. What lets the place down is the lack of management oversight. Tables with broken legs, jet lagged golfers asleep in the lobby, incredibly noisy ambience all overseen by a well meaning but overwhelmed serving staff. Not what you expect when paying $400 for a meal for two. Dinner took three and a half hours. We had to track down staff to order wine, coffee and get the check. Could be a good dining alternative to the Old Course Hotel but its let down badly by the service. Seems its owned by one of those absentee investment companies and it shows .

When the weather turns cold, shops closed, you don’t want a restaurant, just a cuppa, Alexander and George will make you welcome. Enticed by the chips! Feel much better now. Thanks guys!

Had afternoon Tea today(Sunday). The view is stunning, overlooking the golf course and the Forth. We had to wait around 10 minutes and received 4 types of sandwiches, a plain scone and fruit scone and a variety of cakes. The scones were some of the best I’ve ever had- warm from the oven, the cakes were light. We received a bottle of water and large pot of tea but had to ask for glasses. The toilets were a bit more dated than the restaurant but clean

Arranged to meet friends here for a lunch and a catch up. This is a very popular visit with very pleasant surroundings through a very large conservatory contributing to a very well lit area. There are a number of tables within the conservatory and your extensive menu is on the table. There are hot and cold food choices ordered at the server and brought to your table. We opted for chicken and rice soup and tomato and vegetable soup. To accompany the soup we ordered cheese and onion toasties and cheese and ham. We had carrot cake put aside for later that was the last of it. The chicken soup had a distinct homemade stock flavour with generous amounts of chicken through the rice and veg. The toasties came with crisps and side salad and coleslaw on the side. They were very well cooked with a generous filling. Finally the piece de resistance the home baking carrot cake came bursting with flavour very moist and topped with a very sweet icing. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone and will definitely be back.
